  1. Oh yes, I think you are right, thanks for that it seems to have worked now. http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=57976&st=0#entry1033150 I assume that this correct as I can now see my images, thank you once more. You would not believe how much time I spent going over that again and again and could not see for looking!
  2. I have now made a vehicle for my ADU commander to ride around in in a similar manner to a WWII officer in a jeep. It looks pretty good in convoy with the other ADU vehicles based around the same chasis. I am thinking of making a similarly fronted hoover bike if I can so that they all fit into the same theme. I also made a small alien fighter ship to go up against the ADU. It is slightly chunkier than the official LEGO one, what do you think?
  3. I have been trying to post photos many times and keep getting it wrong. I have been able to upload some from my hard drive but it seems that although I've made them very small as per the guidelines I cannot post anymore? I have created a Brickshelf gallery as suggested and tried to use the little tab at the top of the box annotated 'Insert Image.' I get the box coming up for the link which i then put in. It all looks OK but when I go to post it I get the message 'You are not allowed to use that image extension on this board.' I have tried several times with several different images but get the same each time. I have gone over the tutorial again and again and just cannot see that I am doing anything wrong. The images are Jpeg ones and they are very small in actual size as I've cropped them down and so on, but it still does not help. Any ideas as I am finding it very frustrating? Thanks.
  4. Surely TLC know how many Mini-figs have been made, they must have records of what they produce on a daily or even yearly basis for each type?
  5. That's true, I never considered a prisoner in jail in the same way as a mini-fig stuffed in a draw or down the back of a sofa before though! It was quite amusing though when I read it!!
  6. I only have two humans but the number of mini-figs is growing out of control and is already at a few hundred. It just seemed like an interesting question, if every person on the planet could have their own mini-fig? I guess even if they are not there yet at the rate they produce them it won't be long. I imagine it takes less time to produce a minfig than it does a human and once you have the prototype you can make thousands of them all the same, a bit like cloning but on a massive scale. I have wondered how many are destroyed though, I reckon a lot are lost or are stuffed away in draws or under beds and things. Not sure if they are gone though as they are still there. I never thought of a big mass of them floating about at sea but I guess it is possible? Do we think there are likely to be any that have made it into orbit yet? That would be cool especially if they were space ones!
  7. Simple question:- 1. How many Mini-figs have been produced over the years? 2. What is the rate of Mini-fig attrition as opposed to manufacture? 3. Are there now more Min-figs in the world than there are humans? 4. If so when did they start to outnumber us? 5. If not are they far off our number and if near it then when id the anticipated date at which they will outnumber us? 6. Or is this ridiculous as of course there are not as many as there are humans?
  8. OK I've created a Brickshelf account. I'll try that. Thanks. OK tried that, it did not work. Not sure why, I am getting an error message saying:- You are not allowed to use that image extension on this board. I used the little icon at the top like in the tutorials? http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=5100343 The above link is for an image on Brickshelf to my ADU transport. Sorry I am not an expert at this forum and posting pictures. I just cannot get it to work no matter how much I stare at the tutorial. I am doing what it says but it just does not work?
  9. Here is a simple Alien MOC for Alien Quest. An alien with a heavy support weapon. PS. I know I've managed to attach this picture, but it won't let me attach any others even though I've made them very small? I've read the tutorial and I know where my images are stored but when I click on the 'insert image' button at the top it does not want to let me browse in order to retrieve them? So I cannot post any others which is a shame as I've just done an ADU transport vehicle that I wanted to share. Any ideas on what is going wrong. It just brings up a box with http: in it and not my drives?
  10. I'd like to see Hobbit and/or LOTR as well as this opens up all sort of army possibilities and cross over into sci-fi as well. I hope that Alien Quest is expanded on as I really like the space themes and this one has opportunities to tie in with City themes that the other did not so much. There is not much for the ADU yet? Also I would like to see an ancient theme such as Rome or the Med in general, that could see uses for and expansions around the pharohs Quest as well, but in the olden days. Maybe the PQ adventurers get sucked through time to when the pharohs ruled? When you say Indian Quest, do you mean Indian as in India or as in American?
  11. Yes, that is the proper way that I like them, unless they need to be holding something angled like handlebars and so on. However I find that they are almost never like that when they arrive. Does anyone know why they are hardly ever the right way up? Come to think of it why are they even put on the torso at all? They are sperate bits often in different colours, you don't get tyres on wheels and even the two halves of turntables and the like are not together nowadays. (I remember when they came assembled.) It can't be because they are small and a choking hazard as there are loads of small bits a child could choke on?
  12. When I get a minifig either a collectable one or in a set, usually the hands are in the arms so that the round bit is facing upwards so as towards the head of the minifig. I always turn them around so that the flat side is on top. I find that they just don't grip so well the little tools and stuff with the rounded side up. It made me wonder whay they are put together the 'wrong' way up in the first place? Does anyone else turn the hands around or do you not bother and just leave them be? Anyone know why they are always the wrong way around?
  13. Actually the longer legs and narrow waist are a little more like the new Forge World Contemptor Pattern Dread, so right on the ball with that. And as an aside to those saying what chapters are the best, you are all wrong. The best chapter of all is the Hello Kitty Maqrines.... That is just so wrong, obviously a corruption of Slaanesh! I can't see LEGO doing W40K either, but we can live in hope. Codex Mini-figs?
  14. I can't speak for LEGO, but i have ordered other model ships from the USA. It is a really odd system which I don't understand, as using the same retailer I have been charged sometimes and other times I've not been. Sometimes when the cost was only about £10.00 I have been hit with a customs bill of almost the same amount, yert on other occasions when spending about £50.00 I have had no charge at all. It is really weird and not consistent.
  15. I'd love to see the return of some of those old space series. Maybe some of them could get together and/or even include the different species. I mean is there any reason why Blacktron could not have some aliens in their rank and file, or even why the space police could not? I mean it's not only humans who have criminals that need arresting I am sure? By the way is ADU supposed to be a seperate faction or part of the Space Police forces, or a kind of forerunner of the Space Police from just after first contact?
  16. Having looked at the Bricklink link you put in it could well be that torso. (At least my wife thinks it is.) I cannot see the head bit though and the one I got was without a hat. But probably i think you are right.
  17. I have no idea which set it is from. A colleague at work gace me the mini-fig the other day and he in turn was given it by his partner. It has no hair or hat so I have idea what set it is from or how old it is? This was the main reason for me trying to find out.
  18. I just thought LEGO may already have something like that available and I could not find it. I tried the one on Brickset but found it a bit laborious to trawl through. Yes, it would be a good Ap then if someone did that, if it is not already out there. Being able to sort using this kind of system (davee123) is exactly what I was looking for but could not find.
  19. Is there such a thing as a list of every minifig made and what they represent or what set they were in? I have tried Googling it and get links to a book to be released, (I think it was in a thread here a few days back?) but not anything online. I have found some lists with sets that show what minifigs were in them, but nothing that lets me search a figure by colour of legs/torso/hat/hair and so on. This make using these lists rather time consuming and not that practicle as there are hundreds of them. Any links would be good. Or alternatively if anyone just happens to know where a minifig that has red trousers, a red top with green overalls with two pockets and a bearded brown/red facial hair and a what looks like a blue headband comes from then that would help. Thanks.
  20. I think the first road layout was better. It has more play potential for swooshing, (If you can do that with cars and buses?) and it is not green. The crodd roads would be OK if you could then add some more roads to make it more playable in a driving around way, but if you have limited space I'd stick with the first one. But that is just me, others may disagree with just as legit reasons for their own views. By the way, is that a little Blacktron ship sitting ontop of that building?
  21. Nice truck. I do like the wider vehicles, they make town set ups look so much more realsitic in a toy like kind of way. Especially if you can have two minifigs in the cab.
  22. Nice shop and good idea to use those utensils.
  23. It may work for some vehicles, maybe a hoovercraft in something like the recent harbour sets, but for a minifig I don't think it would good. How would you get them to stand up, they would fall over the moment it was activated? With a vehicle it could be OK, but would need a lot more control over itr motion.
  24. I can't say I am a big fan of plates and hinges for roofs. It just looks to me as if they are not a proper model. It may sound silly, but they look more likes toys to be played with than models, which I know LEGO is a toy, but as an adult rather than a child I like the modelling aspect more than the playing one. Having said that the 45 degree ones can get a bit high on large buildings, but in my expereince not many large buildings have roofs that go to a point nowadays anyway, at least not in the manner of just being a straight triangle if you get what I mean? They normally have flatter bits on them as well. At least I know what I'm talking about even if I am not explaining it very well.
  25. Yes a lot did have mixed crews, but I always thought that was just to give them something for them both to shoot at, (Similar to the newer AC sets.) but that once you had bought a few of them it was easy to crew your vehicles from one faction or the other and share them out to one side or the other often favouring the one you prefered at the time. Maybe I just watched too much news back then!
