Carrots for them to run after, so funny.

Same problem but did find that if you click on your second screen, (Not the one that has the internet openned on.) then it worked fine when you went back to it. I had to do this for each line though. A bit of a pain but not excessively so.

The toilets caused me a real problem at first as I was uncertain what to use for them. I asked for some suggestions on this forum and worked something out using the ideas people came up with. I am pretty pleased with them, especially the old fashioned one downstairs, it is similar to an outside one we had when I was growing up, very cold in winter and full of spiders.

Is there a pilot and can we see him or her? Really like the design, and would love to see some wings folded photos.

Here is a link to my first modular house MOC. I still want to add some details to it, but for the most part it is done. Does anyone have any ideas for building televisions to go in MOC builings? Next time I will go for a bit more subdued colours, but for my first build I went with old fashioned colours that I was familiar with from yaers ago. Does anyone know why I cannot upload pictures to this post? I've cropped them and reduced the file size down to 28.6KB but am getting an error message saying 'This file was too big to upload?' Hoever I have posted a link to Youtube where it can be viewed. Advice welcome.

I really like the roof idea. Have you used anything to strenghten the tiles as I have found on mine that they are not that strong a connection without being einforced with something? Nice idea with the garden, definately something I will try to incorporate in the future, or at least some exterior details. Overall a nice effect which I like a lot.

I have just counted them and there are 102. That is since I started collecting around Christmas time. It does not include the several hundred minifigs from the various space ranges over the years that are stored away in my mother's attic and unaccesible. Just the recent ones since my return.

Actually yes that is pretty helpful, I would not have thought of using those parts. Thank you.

I am currently undertaking a project to make a MOC house. It is my first major LEGO project after recently getting back into the hobby. Whilst gererally it is going well I would like some ideas for making bathrooms, toilets, baths, showers etc. What bricks do people generally use for these, are there any photographs? I am having some trouble coming up with a proper looking lavatory for a modern bathroom setting. Thanks for any ideas.

I think space maybe the problem for now. Where we are at the moment we have limited space and whilst I have put the minifigs and a couple of smaller cars in a wall mounted cabinet I have no room for larger models to go on display, which is currently bugging me as I'd like a LEGO railway but have nowhere to put it.

Thank you. Perhaps I should have put the fishing boat in a different thread. I tried to upload some more photos after cropping them and reducing the image quality so they were very small I am still getting the message 'Error This file was too big to upload.' I am not sure why, they are only around 27K and smaller than the fire engine photos which went up no problems. I've just tried again and got the same message. I'll have to try and fiddle with them to get them smaller. I did want to make the fire engine a little longer but I was limited by the bricks I had. I'd like a bigger ladder as well, but overall I think it looks good and I can always add a bigger ladder later if I get one. Thanks for the comments.

Hello, At last I have enough bits to have a go at making something. I have made a small fishing boat similar to what are found in my local harbour. I used a spare minifig series 3 fisherman as well as a normal town man as crew. I aslo made a small fire engine that carries two firemen. Comments welcome as long as they are not rude. Thanks.

OK, I admit this may be a heretical question, but, have you or would you ever consider painting a brick to match a colour if you just say needed one more of a certain type and did not have the right colour? This question comes from many years ago, back before the internet was common, when classic space was still about and getting bricks was quite hard. I recall I was making a model that needed a couple of black bricks and I had run out, but had them in white. Being into making all sorts of models I happened to have some black enamel paint to hand and so putting them were it would not show too much decided to just paint those white ones black. It was only a couple of bricks, but somehow it felt very wrong. Has anyone else done this? I know it is a lot easier to get bricks nowadays but at the time the nearest toy store was a hundred mile round trip and like I said no internet, it was back in the early 1990's.

When you make a set, is that it, do you leave it made, or do you then take it apart, store it unmade somewhere but still whole, or do the bits go into a big box to be reused for other projects that will in turn get broken up after a while and reused? Or is it a combination with some special models you keep and others that are more temporary in nature? On a personal level I try to make a good model, (Or at least I did many years ago.) and then never took it apart once I was satisfied. I may think of a tweak here or there as time went on, but generally once it was made it was made. I have not made much since getting back into LEGO but am currently in the process of making a larg'ish house. I expect once it is done it will stay made and that will be that. So what does everyone else do?

Nice to see something new for M-Tron. I'd almost forgotten they existed. Good design, I like it a lot.

Blacktron 1 has to be my favourite minifigs from the space range, I remember them well, so much better design than the Blacktron II. (Although they were still cool.) I really like the space ship and the assualt vehicle. I always thought of the Blacktron 1 figures as the 'heavy' troopers as oppsoed to the Blacktron II being just the normal run of the mill type guys. That Assault vehicle goes well with that theme.

How open are you about your Lego passion?
Hrw-Amen replied to Fugazi's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Well my wife knows and in fact getting back into LEGO is mainly her fault as she is as big a fan as me. She never had it as a kid. My mother knows we are collecting the minifigs as do one or two people at work and close friends. Not sure what they think of it, no-one has really commented. I think my close friends and relatives all know I like making/painting models (Wargaming, no I don't play I just collect the figures.) anyway so see it as an extension of that. -
I am currently making a house. It is the first 'big' thing I have built since my return to LEGO after many years. I have made the basic structure of the ground floor and am putting in some details. I note from looking on here that people use flat surfaced tiles to enable the upper floors to be easily removed and I can see the sence in that. My question is what do you use to make the floor of the second/third and so on, storey. Do you use another base plate and somehow hide the fact by putting a skirt around it, or do you use ordinary plates, (I have only found these in smaller sizes.) and join several together to get the right size, or am I missing something and it is done in a totally different way? I was going to use the smaller plates and overlap them, but then I thought the floor/ceilings would be so thick. I am not sure how to proceed?

Really nice. I like the contrast very much. I am trying as building right now as my first big project upon returning to LEGO. It isn't going to be that big though, but I am looking for ideas for the interior so thanks for the inspiration.

I have recently come back to LEGO after a period away of about 15 years or so. I still have all my old LEGO but cannot get at it right now as it is in the attic at my parents and I cannot go up there. (I hope I will be able to one day.) I am trying build up a reasonable collection of basic bricks but am finding it hard to source them in quantity at a reasonable price. I have tried the Brick-link site and have got some good bricks, but these have tended to be special shaped ones. They don't seem (Or at least the stores I've looked at so far.) to have masses of 'normal' bricks, OK they have some but not loads. By 'normal' I mean 2X4X1, 1X4X1 and the like. Just plain ordinary bricks. Is it a case of having to go to the LEGO store and using the pickabrick section or are there other places. I've also looked on e-bay, but although I've got a few that way they can be much more exspensive and chewed. I hhave also noted that there seems to be a huge range of colours. When I had LEGO in the past I think it was white, yellow, blue, red and black and that was it. Green and Grey for plates and bases. I think just when I left LEGO all those years ago they had just brought out a few green 'normal' bricks for some sets that had Octan trucks and things. But now I am a bit amazed at the variety. Did they all suddenly get introduced all at once at some point or have they just come in dribs and drabs over the years and for specific sets? Thanks for your help.

I've thought about doing something similar for wargaming with sci-fi figures as actual model kits are so expensive and with LEGO it can easily be reworked into something else when I am bored.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 4 discussion
Hrw-Amen replied to legokuate's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I am having some p[roblems with the dot codes. On Saturday last weekend I bought six different dot codes and got two soccer players, two werewolves. Now I have four of each (With ones I got already.)and they all had different codes. I am told that the sailor and rocker are the most common but try as I may I cannot find them? -
Do you "correct" sets as you build?
Hrw-Amen replied to Siegfried's topic in General LEGO Discussion
As I have just got back into LEGO this is interesting to me. I wondered if the sets had got better? When I used to make my space models back in the days of classic space up to UFO series I used to fill in the holes in the space ships as best I could in most cases at least on the bigger ones. The one that immediately comes to mind was on the biggest (If I recall?) Ice planet space ship, there is a small square compartment behind the cockpit and it is just full of holes and I had to just build it solid so my astronauts could take their helmets off if they wanted to. -
Oh, that does surprise me actually, it is not what I thought. I had searched the bricks on the LEGO shop web site but could not find it under the yellow colour anywhere, I thought maybe they had stopped making them. I just figured it was more likely to be an anchor as the minifigs already had life vests on. Also I have seen some ring shaped anchors that look just like that, but metal and not bright yellow. Does anyone know if you can buy just the hull sections for boats from anywhere? Again I could not find then in the brick section of the LEGO shop. I could not even find the pirate boat hulls? Perhaps I am just rubbish at looking? I know I can try e-bay but is there anywhere that just sells them? thanks again.

Hello, I have just purchased and built the set 7287 which is a police boat from the City/Town range. I was wondering, on the front of the model at the bow there are some yellow rings that are attached by one stud to the deck. At first I thought these were life savers, but then it occured to me given the location that they may be the rings on the deck that the anchor chains pass through, or even the anchors themselves. I am not sure what they are now as I have three possible options. Given that the crewmen are wearing life preservers I am assuming they are not them, but of course I may be wrong. Anyone know for sure? Thank you.
