  1. It still looks good to see it running around the track. Thanks.
  2. Really good. It is nice to see lots of little things like this that add character to a layout.
  3. Well I tried them yesterday and again this morning and got 'The number you have dialed has not been recognised.' The number I dialed was 0871 2222 001 which I got off the website. I know I dialed it correctly as it came up in the display window. I have e-mailed them to ask so hopefully they will get back to me. Just got a reply. The shop will be open November 11th- 13th, 18th- 20th, 25th-27 and Dec 2nd- 4th between 10am and 4pm on those days. I think that closing time will be too early for me by the time I am back around that area. What a pity. Anyone know of any TLG stores or other retail outlet with a PAB wall in Jakarta Indonesia? I have tried google but did not get anything. Last time I was there I was told about an exhibition taking place with lots of stuff going on at Debenhams in Senyan City, but when I arrived it was over. Any help would be appreciated.
  4. When making my recent station which I have just posted I wanted the train to go through it and out the other side under part of the building. It does add a huge amount of brick to the number required even for something so simple as this, so making a whole proper tunnel anything like realistic is going to be a massive undertaking. I think a brisge would be more likely but even that would take a lot of space even for a shallow one. Having said that I think possibly a themed one like we have seen in some of the City posts could work, where it is built into another structure, but it would still be a huge expense and probably would not sell well as essentially it is just a box. But I'd still like one.
  5. Good to see it moving. I do like steam trains a bit more than modern ones. Have been looking at the red wheels on Bricklink for a while now. I find that steam trains use up loads of little plates though. The one I built the other day seemed to take hundreds of them and it was not as detailed as your one is.
  6. It is nice to see all the little things moving about on it. Good job, but would also like to see it on track. Please post this when you have done it.
  7. Very good model.
  8. Brickshelf Page. I have at long last finished my new railway station. It is modular sized so will fit in with my other buildings. It also has modular platforms so they can easily be extended to take longer trains if required. There are two tracks. One is a main line that goes through the station and out the front, (There are little barriers across the pavement that can be put down when the train is coming.) and then there is a second line that is just for local trains. The two tracks are seven studs apart so a little flexi track is required to join them to the switches, but not a great deal. The ground floor is the ticket office and way to the platforms, the first floor contains a cafe, toilet, a control centre for the signal crew and the Station Master's office. The second floor has a small apartment for the Station Master to live in. I have fitted two light bricks to this MOC. One just inside the front door puts light in the foyer and ticket area and then I've also fitted one up in the control room.
  9. I'm actually going up to London to get to Gatwick so not actually in to the city area, but will be around M25. I thought that on my way back home I may take a detour, but I will check my times. Sounds like phoning them may be the best option. Thanks.
  10. Sorry if this has been asked but I cannot locate it. I don't have any Lego stores near me, however I am going to be heading up to London in a few weeks and will be on the M3. My question is, can you go into the Lego shop at Legoland Windsor without paying for tickets to enter the park, or is it actually inside the park gates? I would love to have a look and make a purchase from a PAB wall, but have never seen such a thing except in photos. As I am passing by I thought I'd pop in but am not big on the whole theme park thing. Thanks.
  11. There is that Mini-fig with the musical instrument case (i assume guitar?) and pistol in the latest series. As far as I know he is the only gangster related release. However as they have released him with the obvious theme of violence, alcohol and crime it cannot bother them that much. Maybe there will be something in the future? Perhaps they have plans and we just don't know about it yet?
  12. That is interesting, how long could you pull it out for? Do spiders have a limit to how much thread they can produce in any given time or do they just go on pretty much forever or until they are tired or something? I guess you would have to have someway of holding the spider still or perhaps have it suspended and wind the wheel round in such a way that the spider stays where it is?
  13. So how do you actually get your spiders to produce thread? I mean do you have to connect them up to some sort of threading machine (A threadmill?) like you do cows (Only for milking.) and do they have to be threaded twice a day? It all seems quite an intersting topic really, but I am intrigued to know why you should choose Lego to build such a contraption? Or do you mean treadmill with some huge spider walking around on it like a hamster? I just don't see a spider enjoying that, they seem more the type of creature to just want to sit around waiting to jump out at something rather than taking regular exercise, but I maybe wrong, I don't know much about them.
  14. I am reasonably sure that Lego do not mind how many things you build with random bricks. I suspect as long as they manage to sell the bricks that is fine with most of the owners of the company regardless of what people do with them. However if you have fun with more bricks just building less stuff as well as making them money then they are possibly even happier as everyone wins.
  15. I like the look of this, I would have liked one like that myself back with my 4.5V trains when I was a kid.
  16. I had a quick look but most of it is bring back this or that. There are one or two things I'd like to see brought back, but would prefer new stuff. I think it would be an idea to have a sub theme maybe in each forum to get ideas togther and then everyone who is interested in that could support it. For me one of the most awkward bits is the 'How much would you pay for it?' question as this does seem quite hard to work out especially if you do not know exactly what a new model will contain. Will it have light, sound, PF etc and how many parts? If there was a sub forum to discuss this before the submission was made then a clearer picture could be obtained first and then everyone supporting it would at least have some idea of what is deemed relaistic. Also TLG would have a better idea of what people would really be willing to pay for something rather than getting wild guesses at both extremes as to a sets worth.
  17. OK, I'll just pop it on the end and see what happens.
  18. No there is nothin about 'ThemeAccess' or anything similar to themes at all. I do have the line 'mainWindowSize' and this is followed by 'UserModelDirectory=File' The nearest thing I can see to anything that may even be remotely theme orientated in a line that says 'PaletteNames=' then it goes on to list loads of them, but nothing actually stating 'Themes' in anyway. Just worried I will mess it up altogether.
  19. Here are some ADU MOCs. An ADU Troop transport, ADU skimmer and ADU commanders Jeep.
  20. Very nice and it actually works just like the real one! Can we see some pictures of it incorporated into the layout on the branch line so as to get an overview of it?
  21. I am a little worried thatr I may mess this up. So I've opened the relevant bit in the text box and am about to insert the new line. Where exactly in the text am I inserting this line? Does it matter or can it be anywhere, does it go at the start, end or somewhere in the middle, a new line or added onto the end of an existing line? Just wondering as back years ago when I did programming the whole thing pretty much depended on what order you asked the machine to do whatever it was you were writing the programme for. I just don't want it to not work at all and have to unistall it and start again. Thanks.
  22. Funny, I thought exactly the same thing!!!! Then i read your comment. Very good, looks just like it, but not so grim-dark.
  23. Hello, I finished off my 1st MOC tank engine last night. Initially I had wanted to make a smaller engine but did not want to have a seperate wagon for the battery box. So I had to go with one of the larger express tank engines. Looking through my railway books at the pictures I choose the 326 Bessborough by DE Marsh of the London, Brighton and South Coast railway. The main reason for this was the short round pokey out boiler bit with the big blocky square bit that could be used to hide all the power functions gubbins. Never having done a MOC train before and not being that into Technics as a child or AFOL, I was not that sure about the gearing. I decided to go with the basic gearing used on the Emerald Night but had to modify it a bit, moving it along one axle to give room to fit everything actually into the engine. I also had to hide the XL motor so it needed to be a 7 stud wide build to do that. To start with all I had was a black and white photo of the engine in my book to work from and I copied it as best i could. However I do realise that I have made a few alterations and it is not an exact replica, but this is what it is based on. I have photographed it next to my Emerald Night. I have also had it running pulling my three passenger coaches around the track and it works just fine. I managed to fit lights in the front as well. Initially I was not sure of the colour for this engine, but decied to go with the dark green to match the EN. I later found out that in fact the original Bessborough was a kind of sick yellow colour and from what I see looked awful in that shade. (Good job I only had a black & white photo or I would have been put off.) Not sure what colour it was painted after the war, but dark green seems to have been a Southern Railway colour from what I can remember anyway. I got some gold letters from a shop in town for the LRTS, they are a little glittery but that is all I could find. I used the original engines no 326 as it inspired my MOC afterall so it seemed only right. I've attached some photos. Whilst in this thread perhaps some people with more experience and know-how could answer this following question for me? I had also looked building a 4-4-0 tender engine but for some reason I could not get just four of those large wheels to run properly, they kept locking. I had them off set correctly but they would not go more than two turns. I built them on a frame just to get the gearing right but could not see why? As soon as i added the other two and had six large wheels they ran perfectly. Suggestions as to why are welcome as I want to build this configuration in the future?
  24. Do any stores other than official TLG branded stores have PAB walls and/or Mini-Fig bars? Only there are no official stores near to where I live and would love to have access to these facilities close at hand. I've tried a Google but got nothing of any use. I am in the south west of the UK if it helps to narrow down a store. I think the nearest Lego store is probably either Cardiff or at Windsor?
  25. I am currently working on a power function steam tank engine based around the 4-6-2 Bessborough of 1911. I have fitted an XL motor, with IR, lights and battery box all in the engine but it is a very small space. I have made the engine a 7 stud wide model to get the motor in. Also had to shift the gearing along to shorten the wheelbase as the engine is quite a bit shorter than the Emerald Night. I have linked a couple of pictures of it alongside the Emerald Night from my Brickshelf page. I need a few bits to finish it off but it runs really well. When it is finally finished I'll post some proper pictures along with the station I'm finishing off. I tired making a smaller engine but there was just no way to fit the battery box into it as well as all the other gubbins that I could figure out as it was just not long enough. I did think about using the 'train' motor and wheels but then that would just not look like a proper steam train. I thought about making a goods box car for the battery box but decided against it as the engine would always have to have this with it. The other thing that I have tried which I have have huge trouble with was just using four of the large steam engine wheels. I was planning to make a 4-4-0 tender engine, but for some reason I cannot work out when I just used four of those wheels they kept locking. As soon as I added two more they were fine? Strange but there you go. (They were offset at 90degrees.) Anyway what I am saying I guess is that you can fit an XL motor if you make it 7 studs wide. I think the problem will be the battery box.
