  1. Very nice train. I have nothing to add that has not already ben said. Fantastic model, I wish I could build them like that.
  2. Looks really good, just like a colony ship should. They all need a rotating gravity thing!
  3. Yes that is right it is orange. I did want to do it in pink but looking through Bricklink I could not get all the parts for this. I tried to do some bits in pink mixed with orange but it just did not look right. I think still using the greys for the chasis and a few other bits make it look like it could have come out of the same factory as the ADU ones and just got sprayed a different colour. Here are the 'Girls' of the ADU. Actually there are a couple more not in this picture, I've got a couple of jet pack ones. I was going to make them the same as the ADU ones (And still may.) but they are at the moment using the basic really old style just like on the M-Tron space men from decades ago. I think they actually look a bit slimmer and sleeker anyway. I tried using the old white Blacktron ones but they were way to big and just looked ugly on them. Here is the link to my ADU Brickshelf gallery. (I hope?) http://upload.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=478110
  4. I decided that my Space Girl mini-figs needed some ADU style gear. Now they can give the men a run for their money. (Or aliens.)
  5. Actually they are rather good. I think though I like the steam train best with the variety of different goods wagons.
  6. Well actually I have been having troible getting it to work. I originally set up an account whe I started to use the LEGO store website for the first time back last year, but my account was always showing as 'No active card.' and none of my pruchases ever showed up as points? They were always in the possibly outstanding waitning to be added section but never actually in it even months later. I queried this when i recently went to a LEGo store and they asked me for my VIP card and when I said that I did not actually have a card as I did it online they looked at me confused. They then gave me a card and said to merge it with my online account. I have been trying to do this but cannot find any way of doing it? I have e-mailed the customer service a couple of times and they have told me they have resolved it but still it was showing as 'No active card.' and no points. I tried to call LEGO customer Service and they have been through various things setting up new online cards and new USER IDs but still it is showing no points? I really do not understand what is going on or why it is proving so hard to get registered as I am certain it should be easy. I have just e-mailed them back today again as nothing is showing. Has anyone else had any problems registering for the VIP card account and if so how was it resolved? If I finally manage to get any points on my card ever, then I do plan to save them up until perhaps I go to a LEGO store and maybe I can get a couple of free PAB cups or some larger set at half price or something like that? Alternatively if they come out with a new train I may use them for this.
  7. Is it a possible though that maybe a Creator set could come out with components for an engine shed as one of the options? I could see something along the lines of the houses they make which could be made up as a generic factory or warehouse or engine shed or any other sort of industrial building one can imagine, possibly even an office block? That would give the bricks & instructions for this but with the added appeal to all the City fans instead of just appealing to train fans.
  8. He is a bit in the thick of it there, perhaps he needs a little more than an axe?
  9. Every year, or at least most years I try and write some poetry that refects things that have happened or stuff that has had an impact on my life. The little booklet I put together is usually just given to friends and family for them to read or whatever. This year just gone (2011.) my booklet contained a poem about the anticipation of buying a collectable mini-fig. It is short and admittedly not everyone likes poetry but I thought I'd share it with you. Feel free to ignore it if you like. The Collectable Mini figure. What will it be, Which one will it be? I can’t wait to see! Shall I open it quickly, Or after tea, What will it be? What one is it, With what is it equipped? I can’t wait to see! What so excites me, As together the blocks fit, What one is it?

Nice one, the yellow sets it off a treat.
  11. Well I finally managed to get to a PAB wall over the last few days, (02/02/12 and 03/02 2012.) so was quite excited by this. It was a good three and half hour drive to get there from where I live so not something to be done if I had not been going there anyway, but as i was it was good to take advantage. I had gone away with my wife to celebrate our tenth wedding anniversary and luckily for me we booked to stay in a place near to a LEGO store. (Cardiff.) What a coincidence that was I wonder how I happened to choose that location? Anyway, after reading this thread I was prepared to stack my PAB cups as best I could. I was surprised though at how many people came in whilst I was there and just randomly dropped bricks into the containers getting hardly any in at all as though they just did not care about what they were getting for the price. Even a couple of men who came in with (I presume.) their partners commented on how much I had and that stacking was the way to go, but then just didn't and haphazardly filled the cups anyway? So what did I get? Well I cannot claim to be the worlds best stacker and I have no doubt that many of you could have done a lot better but I was pleased. I got two large cups on Thursday 02nd and then went back on Friday 3rd to get two more, obviously taking advantage of the 75p off for reusing my cups. I've kept them for when I go back, although it may not be for a long time. Does anyone know if they use the same cups at each store, if I took them to another LEGO store in a different city would I be able to use them? Not sure where my next holiday will be that is all. The inventory from the 4 cups though was as follows:- (My descriptions are not that LEGO/Bricklink accurate but I expect you know what I mean.) 90 X Dark Blueish Grey Brick 2X8. 23 X Tan Brick 2X8. 15 X Reddish Brown Brick 2X8. 8 X Reddish Brown Brick 2X2. 12 X Black Brick 2X3. 9 X Black Brick 1X4. 11 X Black Slope End 45degree 1X2. 25 X Tan Slope 45degree 1X2. 32 X Green Brick 2X8. 12 X Lime Green Brick 2X8. 27 X Red Plate 2X8. 4 X Orange Brick 2X2. 16 X Orange Brick 1X4. 5 X Orange Slope 45degree 1X2. 39 X Lime Green Brick 1X2. 11 X Blue Brick 1X2. 40 X Light Bluish Grey Gear stick (Black stick.) 1 X Trans Clear Cheese 1X1. 1 X Red Curved Slope Brick 1X2. 16 X Light Bluish Grey Modified Plate 1X2. 23 X Green Plant Stems. 270 X Yellow Tiles 2X2. 295 X Orange Round Plate 1X1. 409 X Lime Green Round Plate 1X1. 32 X Red Brick 1X6. 102 X Red Brick 1X3. 31 X Red Brick 1X2. 47 X Tellow Brick 1X3. 34 X Yellow Brick 1X2. 111 X Red Plate 1X4. 113 X Yellow Plate 1X4. 21 X Lime Green Plate 1X4. 215 Yellow Jumper Plate 1X2. 76 X Trans Green Cheese 1X1. 6 X Trans Green Plate 1X1. 8 X Trans Green Tile 1X1. 7 X Trans Red Tile 1X1. 10 X Trans Red Tile 1X1. 16 X Reddish Brown Round Brick 2X2. 31 X Black Round Brick 2X2. 75 X Light Bluish Grey Slope 45degree 1X4. 60 X Light Bluish Grey Slope 45degree 1X2. 2 X Red Cupboards 2X2X2 with white doors. I was a bit surprised to find that the Trans green/red cheese, plates and tiles were all mixed into the same hole in the wall but then I guess they are only small. The 1 X Trans Clear cheese and the 1 X Red curved slope were an odd thing to find in with the Lime Green Plates, and I could not find anymore which was a shame as I use a lot of those curved slopes on railway truck roofs but there you go. It is a good job I do not live near to a LEGO store or I guess I'd spend all my time there. It was a real surprise when my wife had finished looking around the clothes stores and was back looking for me before I'd finished packing my cups. Normally at home I'm sat waiting in the car for ages until she returns!
  12. Isn't that what M-Tron and Blacktron were orignally though? I always thought (At least when I was a kid playing with them.) that M-Tron seemed kind of into the salvage thing. Some of the ships had magnatised bits for hauling stuff about and they had that huge wheeled thing that if I remember had some sort of magnet thing on it. I got the impression that original Blacktron were out to steal the M-Tron loot. At least that is how I always played with them.
  13. My trains and space themed sets are all made up and will stay that way, (Although many are modified.) some of the older space stuff has been made up now for around thirty odd years so is unlikely to come apart in my lifetime. I do however buy multiples of stuff (Usually only small sets.) for mini-figs and parts to go in MOCS. Normally this is for space sets and the parts are used as they then fit in with the overall theme. Most of my larger buildings are made to stay up and my railway rolling stock, however it does from time to time get modified when I feel like it. Most of the larger quantities of bricks for these things come from Brick Link or LEGO online PAB as to get them from sets would cost the earth.
  14. I don't mind a mixture, but whilst I do like a little detail like on some that have been creeping in, they should still be identifiable as LEGO and not just look like a generic toy cow/horse/sheep/pig or whatever. I do also like a little movement, for example the horses head that can move up and down. I was a tad disappointed with the new dinosaurs when I opened my first one the other day to find that the raptors are all one bit. I'd have thought the claw arms would have been seperate even if not the head for obvious playability reasons.
  15. I'd love to have a return to Blacktron out of all the old space themes. However whether this would happen I am not sure. If it did I'd quite like the faction to get some alien members, it could be a good tie in with the creatures from the other 'Bad' space themes over the years. After all do the Blacktron / Spyrius factions only have human operatives? Could it be that only humans in space need Police? How about some alien headed Space Police, not all alien's can be bad guys.
  16. Very nice and it tells a good story as well.
  17. This looks good, although I do agree with the crane thing above. I don't think it would be too hard to put it on a small rail though. I seem to recall in the 4.5V days of my youth having a crane mounted on a 4 stud wide section of track made from the straight blue rails. I'm sure somethin like that could be rigged with a bit of poking about for parts on bricklink. Yes, I like the brown tiled area. It reminds me of the tracks around the harbourside near my home.
  18. I don't have many actually. Just the following:- Emerald Night. Maersk. Red passenger train. Yellow Cargo train. Bessborough. (A MOC I built from picture in railway book.) I hope to buy the Red cargo train later this year when I have some cash. I have them all in a box with all the other stuff as I have no room for a layout. I did put out a couple of tracks just for a couple of days over Christmas, but even then we were tripping over them. Hopefully I'll be able to get some flat bed / shelving laid down around the garden wall during the summer and run them around the garden. I'm hoping the IR will work outside (Although I have not heard good reports of this.) as my garden is quite small and enclosed by high walls on three sides and the house on the other. We will have to see though, if they won't work outside it will be a pointless exercise of course.
  19. Yes I agree, an HQ Building would be good, both one for the aliens, (A proper mother ship.) and an ADU base. Yes, it is good to realise other models with the bits provided and gets the imagination running wild. I remember all those alternative models that used to be on the boxes as well. Good attempt here to do something similar. From a photography perspective, I would not overly worry. I am terrible, even when I folllow guides they never work out. I don't seem to be abel to hold the camera still, so your seems OK to me.
  20. It has been an exciting weeken in my house as I have rediscovered a couple of boxes containing some of my old LEGO space stuff. A mixture really, but no old Classic stuff unfortunately. Still some Ice Planet, Spyrius, Blacktron and M-Tron and well as Space Police. I have have been searching in my mother's attic for a while now and managed to find two boxes. There are lots more that I have yet to rediscover as well as my big box of bricks. In fact I am wondering how I can't find it as it was a large wooden box a bit like a coffin!! I suspect it is actually in the shed she has some furniture stored in though. Anyway, today I have openned one of the boxes. There is a mixture of vessels in it, some MOCS, some standard and an assortment of Mini-figs. My favourite of these old timers is my OCTAN Explorer which is a ship I built possibly 25 years ago. (As are all of these.)Here are some photographs, hopefully? (I am using Flickr for the first time due to the ongoing issues with Brickshelf, so fingers crossed it works.) One very exciting thing was finding an Ice Planet Base, in its original box with all the parts still in the plastic bags unmade and unopen. Now the temptation is to make it, or should I leave it be in mint condition? What do you think? I'll add more as i get time to photograph them. It is surprising how stuff stored away in a sealed box and wrapped up can still get so dusty! Then they have had 25 years or so to do it.Flickr Photostream (Hopefully?) If you have seen any of my recent MOCs after coming out of the Dark Age again you will see a definate difference, nowadays I tend to finish stuff flatter with tiles, whereas these are just so lumpy, but in a good 'Old fashioned Space' way. Edit:- I note the photographs did not work. However the link seems to be functioning. Obviously there must be some other method of linking pictures from Flickr, different to Brickshelf. I'll have to investigate, then again I did not get any error messages?
  21. I don't mind, either of them, or even the really old version with the bigger front sticky out bit. It is good to have some diversity.
  22. Nice little ships. Do you have pilots under the canopy pictures?
  23. How about a small scout skimmer, maybe a remote operated drone or two? Good to see some old space stuff getting attention.
  24. Next week I am going to Cardiff for a couple of days. I understand that there is a LEGO store there. Do they have a PAB wall as I have yet to experience one and am getting excited?
  25. Thank you, that seems to have fixed it. I thought you were meaning something in the EB forums themselves, did not realise it was on the browser. But thanks anyway.
