  1. thank you, the two piece boom is quite common for small excavators like EW160, it adds much better range in tight space Thank you. The bucket is such a pain, 42053 & 42055 were such opportunities to bring new bucket with right shape and TLG missed it, what a waste really.. I tried brick build bucket but I either build it too bulky or too weak.
  2. A long overdue update - I was waiting for some parts to arrive, do not order anything few days before Christmas. The worst thing is that I still miss few bits. I have bought a sticker sheet from the set to enhance looks and to make it more appealing, the bodywork is also almost finished, few yellow thin liftarms are missing. The biggest change is bucket - I have bought two pieces from BWE and they are better than one 10x3 bucket as they are not that wide, overal shape is a little bit better as well. Its a shame they are yellow, but the connecting points are same so it is very straightforward to swap them. All hoses are routed and connected so everything is working fine. The gear on top serves for rotation of superstructure. 20180109_204420 20180109_204435 20180109_204452 20180109_204542 20180109_204744 20180109_204921
  3. Yes the micromotor have quite high torque (esp. given its size) and very low rpm (1,6 Nm and 35 rpm; M-motor 11 Nm/400 rpm). It is not enough to drive loaded LA, but for mLA without load, PF switch etc. it is ok
  4. I have noticed that there are 11L liftarms in green in lego employee exlusive - Nut cracker: https://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemInv.asp?S=4002017-1 I'm not sure if parts from such sets are available through B&P, limited quantity might drive its price high \\edit: I'm still surprised that such set receive recolor.. leaves me wondering if some upcoming set would come with it as well.
  5. Check Efferman's motorized X style outridges here:
  6. Yes Brickset uses TLG names. I think BL names are much more fitting, I mean what kind of shade you imagine when saying earth green? I don't like this system of two names, but the butter is on TLG head for bringing out weird names.
  7. I'm excited about every new pneumatic part, I hope it turnts to be true. @Ngoc NguyenAbout the shades of green - I think you are mixing TLG names and BL names with other members. I'm no expert on TLG names of colors as I find them too vague or misleading so I stick with BL names: 42008, 42052, 42064 - green 8941 - dark green + lime I think that 42080 is the same as 8941 - dark green belly + lime top.
  8. Thanks! I will start with the build next week, then I will make stepped digital file, I think it might be ready in half of the January
  9. Yes they are, but they are missing in LPub3D library. It gave me quite a headache to figure why they show in ldwiev/mlcad, but not in lpub. From some obscure reason LPub has its own library at different place, if I remember correctly it is located in zip file name complete.zip, located in LDraw directory.
  10. The rotor definetly looks better! I would leave out the black flex axles below it, otherwise it is very nice improvement. I have already bought missing parts so I plan to build it in next week. Are you going to update the ldd file? I thought I would make PDF instructions for it, it deserve it
  11. The general amount of panels in this year sets is enormous, if anyone is short on them this year is good supply, for comparsion: Porsche - 92 panels Mack - 61 panels Rally car - 49 panels Hoovercraft - 45 panels BWE - 38 panels Arocs - 32 panels edit: Hoovercraft is imo very good parts pack and there are some other recolors not mentioned before, liftarm 2 in white is new: Pin hole with axle in white was spotted before in creator set, there are 2 pieces in 42076:
  12. the amount of greebling behind the cab is quite cool, I like B model much more than A one. My usual complain is only about the accurator - manual model with accurator = no fun
  13. It takes a lot of time for new recolors to appear on B&P, I'm checking red #3 connector from 42077 and it is still not available, #2 connector in DBG from 1H 2017 is not available yet as well, while BL is already reflecting new supply from part out sets
  14. I need help from you skilled guys regarding steering system on 4 axle truck, where first two live axles are steered suspended but not driven. The two axles are quite far from each other, around 20 studs. It will be manual. I have working concept with link steering where both link levers are connected by axle with gears, but I don't want to spend hours implementing it to get to point where it shows as rubbish. So my question is - would you connect such axles with linkage system like I have, or linkage system without gears or rack? Linked steering idea vertical axle is hog, reduction to first axle is 12:20, to second 1:3 to get reduced steering angle Thanks!
  15. I have googled pictures and it seems that lego is again building most of the models bigger than needed. I mean, unimog tires for crane with 2 stage boom, outridges and 3-way steering? Volvo thing with claas tires? I don't like that approach of big outside, half empty inside
  16. It is in printed magazine and most of the questions are for people not familiar with lego or the mentioned facts were published before (like how Milan got the job at TLG or how he started with lego in general).
  17. I had them there in first design but they were not able to lift the arm when it was in full reach. The tubing added a lot of resistance so it is not possible at all. I would like them more as well but they are 4 times weaker. It was pain to modify the boom to fit dual 2x11 cylinders to same sapce as dual 1x11..
  18. There is an interview with Milan Reindl in magazine Týden (Week) in Czech Republic. There are some small details worth mentioning: - there are 11 men in Technic developent team, no woman - Mack is Milan's 15th model, he is also mentioning that he spend hundreds of hours on B model (garbage truck) - The most sucessfull model in regards of sales is 42065 Tracked racer - Milan is most proud about 42069 Extreme adventure and Mack garbage truck - He likes to make planes and race cars most, on the other hand he is not into motorcycles at all
  19. I have started with bodywork, the back is based on set, the rest will be few panels and liftarms, there is not much space or need for some complex structure anyway. There is shell from small BB full of steel washers serving as counterweight. That is really necessary as box with batteries weights around 100g, while this counterweight is around 200g. I have also routed tubing for the boom, as you can see it is not very tidy anymore. I have lost a little bit of the movement of first boom section due to tubing, but nothing serious. 20171219_221906 20171219_221923 20171219_221944 20171219_222051
  20. #5 DBG connector is new recolor, nice!
  21. Thank you very much! I have looked at this truck few times and wondered if I can reverse engeneer it from the pictures. The instructions looks perfect. Would you share the digital file as well? I would like to see how you made the tubing/wiring in lsynth. Thank you
  22. Thank you very much pals, I will make instructions for sure, but I'm not sure it will appeal to many given the amount of pneumatics. @agrof thanks, funny is that your wheeled excavator gave me an idea for this build, you should finish it, it is also very nice and I have build it just for the awesome gearbox!
  23. The same stupid steering system over and over again. The lack of new parts is also letdown, as well as gray frames.. On the other hand the overal look and number of parts in DBG is appealing to me.
  24. It is of course steering hub, but it is probably used more as 3L link rather than hub. PN is 6571
  25. I have ordered recently some black 5L thin liftarms directly from S&H and they are matt, while all my other thin liftarms are with glossy finish. Maybe this will be some kind of shift towards matt plastic...
