  1. Fortunately I’m strictly DC but it still looks like a costly 2019 coming.
  2. A GCPD building? If so this adds to my long held belief that Lego is trying to bankrupt me.
  3. Regular Titans would be preferable. There’s a heap of characters untapped there. A T-car or Titans Tower would be appreciated, mind.
  4. @MakkaG15 @KZB @Whovastron The Knightmare set is now saying back orders accepted, shipping by 23 August
  5. These prices don’t bode well for a set with Grundy, unless it is him, a small swamp/grave build and nothing else.
  6. In a bittersweet way I’m glad it’s not just me seeing this, but cheesed that it’s happened.
  7. When I looked at Argos last night they had sold over 100 in 48 hours. It’s on my wish list for certain.
  8. Well that sucks, mine says currently unavailable
  9. Not out anywhere I’ve looked yet it says released 31st July. This happened with one of the earlier ones and it appeared a couple of weeks later. Amazon doesn’t even have it for preorder
  10. Well, some of us aren’t in a position to buy all the sets the moment they are released, and I don’t consider them off topic when I do finally get them. That and no one saw Knightmare coming, so there is no guarantee that all is said and done. But hey, that’s just me. It’s been emotional.
  11. I assume that you are looking to make purist versions? There are about 30 villains all told, most of them terrible pastiches best left where they are. The only ones that I would recommend adding to the existing seven are Bookworm, Mad Hatter, Louie the Lilac, and False Face. False Face could be tricky to do, mind. Louie and Bookworm made the jump to the comics as well.
  12. I really hope we don’t get a Year One based film. It shows a massive lack of imagination and faith in the audience.
  13. This is one of those rare times where a Lego Batman set gives me such mixed feelings. I’ve not bought an RC set before, so it will be a new experience in that respect. It will also be the first set that I will want to mod - I’m normally too much of a purist to change them. But this is crying out for the wiring loom to be covered properly and a pair of the new type batwings at the very least. I’m curious as to what extent altering the wheelbase will have on the drive functions, as well. Great review of an interesting set, thank you.
  14. @Mountain Drew dang, I was thinking of the CMF pirate who has an anchor tattoo. Anyway, I don’t think it’s tats per se, but I do think if the subject of a shirtless Leto Joker came up then it would be quickly taken off the table. A bit like why a shirtless Jack Sparrow never appeared, but with a more psychotic bent. I don’t see them having the same issue with Aquaman because his tats are Maori inspired and (unless there’s something hidden in there) harmless. In short I would narrow it down to two factors - scale and content.
  15. That castle is beautiful
  16. Other than his own Joker movie and quite possibly Suicide Squad 2, you mean? Unless I have drastically misjudged them, I don’t see Lego making a Leto Joker due to the sheer number of tattoos and the subject of some of them. I know there are bootlegs, and I know that Lego tattoos exist, but I just don’t think they would do it.
  17. The Lego Shop online for certain. Available from 1st August for £10.99 here in the UK. It wasn’t under New, but put Knightmare into the search and you should find it.
  18. It’s a gun turret with Bat’s rifle and attachable Joker card.
  19. Knightmare Batman with printed goggles and the desert rig. Two green parademons and a mini build. I like it, several years late but I’ll be happy to get it.
  20. That’s because it lacks the gadgets. And the scale. Oh, and the colour is a tad off. Other than that yeah, a good replacement. Well found. Sadly I’m incapable of suspending my disbelief.
  21. I’d rather they made sets inspired by rather than a tie-in, especially with TT because of their portrayal. Both shows gave such a range of characters to play with as well as scenarios. For example they keep pushing the Flash yet don’t give the Kid a chance. The list may not be endless, but the potential is great and largely untapped.
  22. @TheBrickBuilder14 fair enough. Thanks for the info
  23. you’re right, it is/was brown, I’ve been brainwashed by TT Games’ representation!
  24. Making profit is a fundamental principle of business, but if they have two licenses to cover then the price is not pure profit. You don’t know how much the Bond franchise wants out of it, nor what Aston’s cut is. If those fees are high, then Lego pass it on to the end user; another principle of business. Not exactly the same shape, but it was never going to be. The DB5 was hand sculpted out aluminium, or however it was done. Lego elements were never going to replicate that unless they made a new piece. That would impact on the already high price. The three franchises agreed to work together and representatives from all three were clearly happy with the finished build. They came up with something that they all liked. With the aid of market research they went ahead because they knew that Lego customers would welcome something Bond and a DB5, Aston Martin would get representation in a new market place, likewise the Bond brand. What they didn’t take into consideration was that Lego fans have come to expect perfection despite buying an adaptable product that positively encourages the buyer to use their imagination. If you can’t use your imagination or suspend your disbelief then that is not Lego’s fault. How similar a shape is subjective. Aside from that it is still a good, clever build, something I have maintained from the onset.
