LEGO Star Wars 2013 Pictures and Rumors
Navy Trooper Fenson replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Who is NRG? Someone who calls himself emazers posted on ToysNBricks. He´s got 54 posts, I don´t know the site but he looks more trustworthy than those people with less than 20 posts that normally sprout fake news. The other insider informations from his post are common knowledge or a logical deduction if you know about LEGOs business. Still, the hair piece of the forest maiden from the Collectible Minifigures is proof enough that at least somewhere down the line there will be a Ewok princess Leia, so why not use it this year already? I believe it is ROTJs anniversary anyway. It depends on what the village would look like. Probably the most damning thing about the set right now would be that it is called "Village" instead of "celebration". If they do a village set based on the scene from the middle of the movie with Han and Luke as BBQ and 3PO as god I would be disappointed. A Celebration set would definitely be better as it gives the opportunity for including the same figs as with the Ewok gods BBQ scene and would give us all the heroes in one set (new Lando, hopefully finally a real Death Star prisoner Luke) maybe some new Ewoks or even a few more rebels and most importantly Force ghosts! I heard many excuses that ghosts would be impossible because the transparent plastic isn´t as sturdy (which I don´t believe since they used big transparent pieces in many sets before) but even if it is true it seems LEGO has found a way to give us transparent figs since the Pirate Ship Ambush of Lord of the Rings includes the King and some soldiers of the dead that most certainly have to be transparent plastic. It would be really stupid of them to "celebrate" the 30th anniversary of ROTJ like they did TESBs: Only with sets from one section of the film. -

I remember some interview where they said they would be either symbolic or technology based, but I have no idea when or where exactly. In sets I don´t see any use. Mandarin could wear only two at a time and they would look more like donuts and less like his rings because of the missing insignia. They could simply print it on the ring but a new mold would look better. And multicolored? They are all grey and when I look at them they all have differently formed insignias. Ach, it would just become an unsatisfactory mess if they include the rings. It would be like making a new part for Boba Fetts hand mounted flamethrower or Cad Banes mask thingie with the tubes (which they made). It´s impossible to accurately render those parts in LEGO form. I think the rings could work for a comic-based Iron Man set but I don´t see them making one in the near future. Or ever. I wouldn´t throw the possibility out of the window that LEGO asks Fox form licenses from their movies. I could see them at least getting the Fantastic Four license if it isn´t too dark. I guess Fox has 10 years with all of their movies and Sony 5 with all of theirs. With the new Spider-Man they had a 5 year gap and they were at the edge of loosing him. Daredevil has reverted back to Marvel 10 years after his only movie. I guess those counts extend to all their properties. Fox bought their licenses around the end of the eighties I think and they had to do a low budget Fantastic Four movie to keep their rights in 1998. I remember talk of the guy who is in charge of Fantastic Four reboot trying to get Fox and Marvel to cooperate with their continuities and maybe even doing crossovers or at least cameos but it is unknown if he will succeed. It could work with Fantastic Four but it would need a reboot of X-Men instead of the ejaculated mess that has accumulated itself in over 10 years of Fox letting the writers make up their own stuff without regulations, which I doubt since they finally got something going with First Class and the executives at Fox refuse to do a reboot since it would mean loosing Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen in their self-destructive minds that are the only ones who would have a problem with the same actors playing the same characters in different continuities. -

Weren´t Batman Brave and Bold and the 90s Avengers the only shows with nearly exclusively B-List characters? Batman did well at least. How exactly could this be possible? Throw ten LOTR rings in grey in the sets? Would be nice for the SNOT MOCers but it´s not really the kind of useful accessory like a gun or a sword. I don´t think the rings will be any important in the movie anyway. They come of more like a symbol and Mandarin doesn´t seem magical in this version. They don´t want to do the "Joker stories" or any stories with other known villains because those tend to be the same. So instead of hiring better writers they just change the line-up to people no one knows. This is just the way Batman shows go. The 90s series was so good no one wants to differentiate themselves from this show so no one can tell them "You are just like 90s Batman, just crappier!". "The Batman" changed the known villains into more badass and sillier shadows of themselves, Brave and the Bold is basically Adam West with a budget and now they want to do it like in the 40s. With villains from the 90s. We just have to wait and see how that turns out. Also, i don´t think the big names can be kept out forever. Ra´s Al Guhl for example isn´t as low key thanks to Arkham games and Nolan. Even if they won´t make this show, sooner or later Ra´s would have to turn up in the DC line. They can´t just remake the same dozen or so villains with different Bat-sometings until the end of time. The Shield show is the first in line for fall consideration, it´s safe to say it will air soon. There still is the question which side the show wants to take on the scale of light versus dark. Whedon isn´t exactly known for being happy with his life if he can´t kill at least one person each season. I think at best it turns out like Nolan-Man: LEGO waits until they can´t deny the popularity of the movie/show with children and then do one set or two based on it, years after the premiere. -

I just went and bought a closed 30s display. Had exactly the half of the contents of the 60s display. They probably changed the ratios because of that. The easiest parts to identify were the armor and the hammer IMO.- 171 replies

Navy Trooper Fenson replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
Just went on the dutch site again and the Mansion is listed as 39,99 and Extremis/Harbor Battle as 14,99. Could work with the aforementioned descriptions. The Smallville and Metropolis sets are also listed both as 44.99€. http://www.brickshop...per-heroes.html The announcement is surely nothing superhero related. On conventions they only announce S@H sets with 10??? numbers and there are currently three of those from other themes that are awaiting official announcements. -
Lego Superheroes 2013 Rumours & Discussion
Navy Trooper Fenson replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
Seems very likely IMO. There are no new movies in 2014 and if they do even more "generic continuity" Batman sets I am going to have a seizure. Either they begin making generic continuity Justice League/other DC sets or they do something for the DC shows like Beware the Batman, Green Lantern and Young Justice. It´s weird for them to ignore those shows and do sets based on Ultimate Spider-Man for so long anyway. It´s still a little weird to see DC and Marvel having to share 10 sets every year in their main line and Star Wars is getting 20 this year. I don´t say they should make 20 sets for each publisher, but there is room for a little growth. Helicarrier seems very likely indeed. Maybe when the Avengers 2012 sets are being discontinued at the end of 2013 they could release the Carrier in a 6211 Star Destroyer-esque version with small rooms inside and the full Avengers team plus Fury and maybe Coulson and Hill. Like the way they make sure to always have an X-Wing on shelves in the Star Wars line they make sure to always give kids the opportunity to get the movie or main Avengers. A Leviatan would also make an unique set in the big set category. I´m not even counting on stickers. Right now I picture the set in the 40€ category with an open back, looking like a saucer on one or two BURPs with a few columns that you can kick away to let it fall over, make the window fall out and the figures slide out of the room on the huge tiles. Doesn´t mean I am okay with that vision. It being more like the Batcave with an upper and lower level for 80 to 90€ would work better. From the looks of the trailer there don´t even have to be many figures. It seem the only people in the scene are Tony in a tank top, Pepper and the Iron Man suits. A lineup like Tony, Pepper, newest Iron Man and two or three old Iron Men and maybe one villain if they don´t want to make the set villain-less except for the pilotless choppers. Pepper and Tony aren´t even required, seeing how they skipped over non-heroes/villains at the moment mostly. For the suits I would choose the most distinctive looking ones to have some variety. Mark 1 (because of the crude look and the fact that it is the first suit) Mark 2 (would have to be metallic or silver and would still be different enough from Warmachine since the Mark 2 is much shinier) Maybe Mark 5 (silver red color scheme and has a memorable and sudden appearance but is generally useless because it only appeared in one scene in one movie (I think)) Mark 6 and 7 aren´t really needed because they were already in the Avengers sets and 7 is possibly being repeated in one of the 3 new sets anyway. I doubt they start of with Tony having created the gold armor right at the beginning. Mark 3 and 4 are maybe necessary because they represent the generic Iron Man costume the public knows best but 7 is already near enough to not make them necessary. Making 3 and 4 in sets is also not really needed because their designs are nearly identical save for some details, most of which LEGO could´t even adapt (different reds, random golden highlights on the legs and stomach, different plating with the arms that are normally not printed). Lego Superheroes 2013 Rumours & Discussion
Navy Trooper Fenson replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
I would guess the Harbor set has Warmachine, but there is nothing to base this on except the set names. Nothing about the sets contents or even the vaguest plot points of the movie is for sure except that there will be a set with Iron man and Mandarin and the Malibu Mansion gets blown up by helicopters. I think War Machine has his old costume in the beginning and paints it in the Patriot colors at some point later. I think sets that aren´t explicitly tied to a show or movie are going to be very rare in the Marvel line. They occasionally appear to please the AFOL and Comic-Book fan crowd but are not designed with kids in mind. Seeing how serious and convoluted the Comics stories became I think LEGO has the same view and doesn´t think it would be appealing to kids that much. With Thor 2 there are multiple ways it could go: 1. Marvel gets a big 10??? set as a counter for Arkham Asylum near the end of the year that is something like a "Best-Of" Set of the Thor 2 movie. Much like Hogwarts castle from Harry Potter and the order of the Phoenix that included several random figures and items that don´t really fit together. 2. Thor 2 only gets one or two sets that are Walmart/Target/TRU-exclusives tied with 2 exclusive DC sets. This kind of set is generally appearing without foreshadowing and out of the blue. 3. Thor 2 gets his own line (3 or more sets) in November but LEGO counts this line for next year and releases a few more DC sets in 2013 to make up for it and the 10??? set is being reserved for something based on Marvels comic continuity (like the X-Men comic sets) or is being pushed back to next year. 4. Thor 2 gets no sets or a small and crappy one in January 2014 because LEGO has no idea how popular and profitable he is (much like how they ignore Nolans Batman). -

Does anyone know the ratio of a 30 fig Display? Multiple german websites sell displays with only 30 figs and I wonder if that means figs like the fortune teller and waiter are only in there once. That would make the hunting even more complicated since stores don´t open all their displays at once and if the fig is grabbed you have to wait until they open the next box.- 171 replies

Lego Superheroes 2013 Rumours & Discussion
Navy Trooper Fenson replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
There wasn´t one for Hulk, too and he got to be a summer promotion. But he would need a new mold for his helmet, which I don´t believe they want to make just for a promotional article with little demand. More probable is one of the hundred characters that they didn´t already release in a set and who is playable in the game and doesn´t use new or not reusable molds. Stan Lee is would be the ideal candidate for fans but I think the preorder fig is also intended to be used by children and an old man isn´t going to be something on their wish list. Either way, I hope the fig isn´t something too useful for me since I like to wait a few months to get a used copy for less than half the price and they make the preorder fig exclusive to the PS3 versions that I am unable to use anyway. -
So is the Planet line going to end after Series 4?
Navy Trooper Fenson replied to Muddy's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I would love to see them going a bit deeper into EU territory. At least they already made EU sets, albeit sets that were too much like other models (TIE Defender), unpopular pegwarmers (TIE Crawler), or somehow tied to current projects (Fighter Tank from Battlefront). The line was doomed from the start anyway. A tiny model, a planet and a pilot fig. They branched out to soldiers at least with Phase 1 Clone and Tantive IV trooper but then they made the TIE Pilot do double duty and justifying it with some weird white printing on his forehead. I would really like to know how this line sells a set anyway. You can´t really build an army with it because pilots involuntarily need ships and normally sets of ships have pilots. Minis are a "love it or hate it" thing and the planets start running out anyway. But I guess that they simply reissue already made planets in wave 5 (the discontinuation of series 1 this year is good foreshadowing for this idea) or maybe expand to the worlds that nobody cares about like Felucia, ignoring the more ideal possibilities of giving kids figures that have actual play value and AFOLs something to look at. -

Then swap the name Lone Ranger with Prince of Persia, Galidor or Toy Story. Either way, this doesn´t make my argument invalid. -
Buying parts from the Customer service
Navy Trooper Fenson replied to Navy Trooper Fenson's topic in General LEGO Discussion
https://service.lego.com/de-de/replacementparts/#BasicInfo Well, the icon is a shopping cart with a big rectangular shape in it. It could be clarified by LEGO if it is true. I meant the regular head not the elongated piece. -
The video he talks about is this: That scene looked exactly the same. Maybe a bit shinier but that was probably because they filmed it from the monitor. I am a bit more excited for the Marvel Game than I was for the DC game. It seems like in LEGO Marvel they know that every character has a fan base. In DC they only faff about Batman and maybe Superman. I hope they do it right with the Marvel game, giving it more of that Avengers/Justice League cartoon feeling where in every level you get another combination of some of the superheroes. Not like Batman 2 where Superman was in roughly 5 levels, in 2 depowered and other heroes only came during the last two levels. Oh, and I hope Cap can walk around with his shield in his hand, too, and not always like a turtle with it on the back. That always bugged me about that 2011 movie tie-in game that was otherwise a good rendition of Caps awesomeness. There is really no excuse not to be able to do this with Cap in the LEGO games, it worked for lightsabers since LSW1. And probably the most important part of it all: When you release your game with the torso of a firefighter PLEASE include a helmet, too! That still bugs me about LEGO Batman 2, hope they can rectify it at least here. About LSW4: i think they wanted to release it in summer but they got problems with the schedule. A Marvel game was already planned for 2012 to tie in with Avengers but it got scrapped because they can´t make more than two games a year. About LSW remake: We don´t need that. Complete Saga was already more or less unnecessary. I don´t see what could be updated except maybe saber throws and opening doors with sabers but even then it would only be a very small part that is new and doesn´t warrant a full remake. People like to talk about graphics as if they were the most important thing, but this are LEGO games. I couldn´t care less if the rectangular shapes are shinier or not. LSW4 could be much more interesting with levels based on the Death Watch arcs, Umbara and Kamino. I just hope they finally include the Death Star trooper helmet again. LSW 1, 2 and complete are the only games where I am able to make my sig-fig.

Buying parts from the Customer service
Navy Trooper Fenson posted a topic in General LEGO Discussion
That buying parts through the customer service is now finally possible is a great change LEGO made, but I still have some rather huge problems with the system: 1. Why aren´t all the parts in the lists? For example, the haunted house has every part for the figs except the butlers´ head. Why is that one missing? It´s not like it´s simply not available at the moment in that case they write "not available" directly below the pic. The part is simply missing as if it weren´t in there. Does that mean LEGO can´t even import their own parts lists into their system without missing slots? 2. If you aren´t allowed to sell licensed parts, why do you have them in the lists for buyable parts? When I searched the Batmobile set they gave me a list that had Batmans cape, the heads of Two-faces goons and all parts of Two-Face except his hair because it wasn´t in stock. I ordered some of them with Monster Fighter parts and got an E-Mail a day later that said I couldn´t get the Batman parts because they are licensed. You would think if they know they aren´t allowed to sell them they simply wouldn´t be in the lists like other licensed parts like for example Batmans mask and torso. 3. Why do I have to PHONE the customer service to get the stuff shipped? I searched parts on the internet, put them in the basket on the internet and got an E-Mail that I have to call the service to give the order on the internet. I guess it´s because some of the parts were taken out of my order because of problem Nr.2 but why can´t they just direct me to a new page with a new basket with the pieces I can actually buy, let me click on "confirm" and all is good? Who uses the telephone to order stuff in this day and age anyway? I know some people do it but you have a choice in that matter normally. -
If I ran The Lego Group
Navy Trooper Fenson replied to Paul B Technic's topic in General LEGO Discussion
The box ages just repeat themselves over and over and are randomly given to sets. The TIE Fighter is 8-14 and Fury-Class Interceptor is 9-14. Why? Can 8 year olds not understand the concept of rubber parts? Or is it because it is slightly larger? The Age ranges could be simplified in categories like baby/kid/teen/adult and those categories could be given to themes as a whole instead of individual sets. If it is even necessary. I still have enough confidence in mankind to let them judge if Star Wars or Alien Conquest is more appropriate for a child based on the looks of the set. No. And that just shows how they fail at marketing to adults. They don´t even try. I get why they don´t want to try, but pretending a sub-page on LEGO.com mentioning the word "man" a lot is going to be helping raising awareness of the manliness of LEGO is pretty useless. AFOLs are probably the only ones realizing this page exists because, who else would write lego.com in their browser and click around the product pages? Advertisement that you have to actively search for isn´t raising awareness, it´s just pointless. I would have preferred them sitting on their chairs and do nothing than this site. At least in the former situation one could have said "They don´t care". This way they are just showing that they have no clue what to do. And to get to my ideas: The Superhero license should be milked like Star Wars and not wasted like a timed license. Timed licenses are movies that will be forgotten in a year or so (Speed Racer, Lone Ranger) or that are popular for a somewhat longer timespan but wouldn´t make a good theme after public awareness fades (LOTR and the Hobbit). Superheroes are the big thing now. Countless cartoons are being produced and because of Marvel alone we can count on at least two movies each year for LEGO to use. Instead they release only 4 or 6 sets every 6 months. Star Wars has 20 sets this year alone (that are confirmed). DC and Marvel have to share 10 sets with each other. If they could just release some more to catch up with some of the older movies that are still very popular with youths I am certain those would sell just as well. Oh, and Batman should take a back seat. It should concentrate a bit more on different characters. LEGO should do announcements for their product lines that say which sets are exclusive to which country and which store. It´s just getting confusing in the last few years. The superhero sets for example are freely available at every store in USA, Canada, France, Spain, Italy, Netherland but for whatever reason it may be not in Germany. I asked the customer service multiple times, always getting another non-answer like "I can´t talk about future sets" (when they are already available on your own website), "In May" (When that only concerns the action figures) and "you can order on S@H" (whatisthisidonteven-). I guessed it would stay exclusive forever but apparently the 2013 waves are in the store catalogue which means the new ones are available everywhere but not the old ones. I know you earn more money through selling them on S@H but is it that much to ask for a bit of clarity? I ended up buying them all on a dutch website, where they apparently only got 6 of the 10 sets because of ???. Customers shouldn´t have to research the availability of you products as if they were a biology essay! Rough availability dates for your products. AFOLs know most sets are 1,5 years in production and S@H exclusives for 3 years but stuff like the Black Pearl should be explained a bit better, at least for the children and parents. I couldn´t find that set after only a few months. Basically after Christmas it was simply gone and I can imagine that some kids that wanted to save up cash for it were screwed over by the nowhere explicitly called production cycle of two months. And even if this was only the store I went to and not the whole country, this still happens with enough other sets to be a problem. -
LEGO Star Wars 2013 Pictures and Rumors
Navy Trooper Fenson replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Or we could finally get a set based on Bespin with Bespin Luke after roughly ten years of nothing (or Slave Ones if you are generous). BARCs (and Speederbikes, too) are much smaller than X-Wings and come as extras with bigger models. This is a widely different situation than with the X-Wings, if it is minifig scaled. I believe that was unintentional. On S@H the motorized one was taken from the site a few months before the release of 8129 and the retailers probably couldn´t sell all of the old ones before the release of the new version. I thought for they included the red and white 1x1 plates for the choice aspect in the 2012 version. -
LEGO Star Wars 2013 Pictures and Rumors
Navy Trooper Fenson replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
If I have learnt at least one thing it is that LEGO will never retire the Minifig-scale X-Wing. When the first X-Wing from 1999 retired they re-issued the set in 2002 and when the 2004 X-Wing retired in 2005 they got enough calls of parents and kids that they released the nearly identical 2006 X-Wing that was in production until fall 2011. And then came the 2012 X-Wing. If they want to release an UCS X-Wing ever again, they have to do it side by side with the minfig-scaled one. Besides, the 2004 Y-Wing and UCS Y-Wing came in the same wave in fall 2004 and they also released in 2003 the UCS Snowspeeder with a minifig version coming directly in January 2004. It´s not like they have never done that before. Your idea to release the same model at the same time with different accessories also happened with Anakins Podracer in 1999. He was available as a stand-alone with Anakin, Padmé and a Pitdroid and in the Mos Eisley Race with two other Podracers and more figs. But granted, they released the Pod sets in the same wave. Doing it with the X-Wing now would be like a kick in the kidney. Well, I don´t know how I would find that. IMO a perfect X-Wing would have to be smaller than the current 70€ versions, so making the price higher would mean that they just make the same ship as 2012 with more details/unnecessary add-ons like carts and hangar walls or worse, an even bigger one with an exclusive fig. But on the other hand, it would be great for other vehicles that would normally be too huge to release as playlets in regular stores in their true sizes. Like the Falcon or Lambda Shuttle that they already released. I could see the Slave One in this format for 150 to 200, my beloved UCS leg-high AT-AT that will never come out, or the Umbaran MHC, if they ever do TCW UCSes. I just wait untill the pics come out. When they´ve got the name already it can´t be that much longer to wait. Probably a march or may release like the years before, so that AFOLs have something to buy for the inevitable May 4th promotion. -

LEGO Star Wars 2013 Pictures and Rumors
Navy Trooper Fenson replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Ha! I knew they would release something with Zygerians! The head for the Legend of Chima wolve-people looks exactly like one of the slavers from that TCW storyline. Still, I´m not excited about it. Except for another chance at the new Styles of Obi-Wan, Anakin and Ahsoka there is probably nothing coming out of this set that could be used in displays concerning episodes other than the zygerian ones. The TOR ship looks nice, but the only part I am interested are Sith troopers and I already have the opportunity to get as much of them as I want. Some special, new fig would be nice but as I know LEGO they won´t do any special pieces for their exclusive products and only recycle molds they already have. Another advent calendar would be nice. Maybe with Santa Vader, so everyone who shelled out 50 bucks for a special "first injection Vader helmet" can throw him on the ground. Oh, I lost my hope. AOTC is the most ignored movie of the LSW theme. The only sets themed after scenes from the movie were a summer wave in 02, around four sets in 2003 and the Hailfire Droid and Spider-Walker sets from 2008 of which the 08 set can still pass as TCW because of Fox and the Shiny. Now the scenes of the film get a little more attention, but even then it´s only because of the 3D release and the need for a new LAAT for kids to play with. It probably will end like TESB. The only sets anyone releases for the film are about the only battle of the movie and the Slave One and the most interesting location (Bespin/Kamino) is treated like it doesn´t exist. -
LEGO Star Wars 2013 Pictures and Rumors
Navy Trooper Fenson replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I think it´s just teasing of them to give us only one Clone pilot. The ship has TWO. COCKPITS. What am I supposed to do now? Yeah, I can bricklink one, but why does no one think of the children? The only time someone thought of them was when they ruined the Battlepacks. I was rather pissed as an eight year old child in 2003 when they included so few soldiers. I only had four clones and when I wanted to man all the seats I would have not a single foot soldiers. And it was stupid enough already to have not even the right pilots. And now I couldn´t even get enough figs for all the seats! Just think of the children! Are they supposed to buy a Battlepack? BRAVO! You get two troopers and one of them is a an officer. They don´t even fit the ones that steered the LAAT in the movie and you still don´t have a single trooper left over to fight on foot. It seems like it. From what I can decipher it looks like Qui-Gon Jinn with wine red robes. If it were Obi-Wan I suppose they would have gotten one of the Obi-Wan figs as a stand-in like with Anakin. Who wore red in that scene? But anyway, I really find it funny that the Battlepack definition was changed to give kids something to play without them having to get two sets like it were a Pokemon game, but everything above 20 bucks is designed to be complimentary with a bunch of other sets. They do one thing in favor of kids and another one that takes them from behind. Oh yes, they can still have some action with th Skiff. Lando and Luke against Boba and the dude named after a movie injoke, but what´s up with the barge? Leia and R2? They strangled Jabba and buzzed the rat-monkey, they were rather useless. Luke would have to be in there instead of Yak-face, because he was the only person fighting anyone on the barge. But then he shouldn´t have been in the skiff. But then they should have included Han Solo. But then he would have been double in Jabbas Palace and the skiff. But then, Luke is also in two sets (Rancor and Skiff), so why go through all the troubleaaaAAAARGH! It makes everything just confusing. At least it´s good for the collectors when LEGO doesn´t want to repeat figs that often, but I can´t say yes to this when poor children are getting less fun and parents loose money. And because I really hate paying 10 or more bucks for a fig on Bricklink. The barge is a nice design and reminds me of that one grey MOC barge of ACPin or someone else. The barge is ruined anyway, seeing how it is shorter than the last one. The Gunship is my favorite except for the missing pilots and soldiers. I just hope my old Gunship makes enough money that it isn´t too big of a loss. -
LEGO Star Wars 2013 Pictures and Rumors
Navy Trooper Fenson replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Well they already had Ahsokas JSF in 2009 and even though they like to sell the same JSF model every year it seems they want to do it with different pilots. A snail tank droid makes at least a little sense. Looking at the set lineup they seem to want to produce a bunch of Battle of Geonosis themed sets and snail tanks were slated to appear in AOTC before their scene was cut late in the production process. Still a hailfire droid would have been a better fit for Geonosis. Well, that could be possible, but I would prefer them in a battlepack next year, so we can actually build ourselves an army and don´t have to run into the same stupid situation like with the Wolfpack troopers that cost a battlepack per fig on Bricklink. The snowspeeder from the newest set is the same size and design as the three before and making it bigger is probably not on the priority list, as the vehicle was rather small in the film. There was already an UCS version in 2003 and LEGO normally doesn´t redesign their UCS sets. I would say, no. You have to build one for yourself. The wave seems a bit like a total waste in my opinion. That they would do a TOR battlepack was kinda expected and I hoped so myself because I like to get a Sith trooper army but I thought that some Phase 2 TCW troopers would be rolling around instead of Phase 1s. Yes, we get the 501st and 212th finally (7 years too late) but it is wasted when they only appear one at a time in the more expensive sets. 501st at least is easy to get on Bricklink, the 5 to 6 Euros are what I would have expected if they were in a Battlepack, but why do the helmets not have holes for the rangefinders? Captain Rex without his rangefinder now even though LEGOs goal seemed to be to get more details into the sets? How are they doing Cody if they get to him? The A-Wing was a good choice (the last version came 2006 and the green one from the Home One doesn´t count as it was green), even though for me personally it isn´t necessary as I still have the last version. The headhunter makes sense, too but is simply not my type of set. Rancor pit was genius through and through, the masterpiece of this wave. The worst are AT-RT and BARC with sidecar. The RT is way to big and the figure selection seems less like a real set and more like the wishlist of a seven-year old and is probably the most random selection yet. The BARCs only purpose is to give us Captain Rex in Phase 2 gear and TCW Obi-Wans new robes, which come two year too late and it certainly delivers only that. The redeisgn of the Flitknot looks nice but I expect it in the new Yoda/Dooku duel set this summer already. The BARC is like the RT oversized and on top of that unnecessary. The ARF battlepack isn´t even three years old. I was looking forward to the Umbaran MHC but I am let down by its size. It would have made a great 100+ bucks set to counter the AT-TE and Laat/i since the confederacy has no big vehicles except for the MTT who is less of a tank. The figure selection is good, but the 212th trooper seems more like a tease since it will cost around 10 bucks to get one on Bricklink, which makes army building rather expensive. I prefer waiting for a BP or I just don´t buy any of them. Ahsokas new design was needed since December 2010 so I am glad she finally is here in her current outfit but I prefer getting her in a set that contains a model I actually want. The summer wave seems more like my thing. The Laaty can replace my old TCW Laaty and maybe has some good figs. The other three (probably) AOTC Battle of Geonosis themed sets could give us more Phase 1 Life Action style clone trooper officers or even more Geonosis Jedi (even though the only one missing I can think of is Adi Gallia). The duel can maybe become more than just a fig-pack like in 2002. Maybe they put in Anakin, Obi-Wan and Padmé and a bit of decoration like an entrance and the falling tower. Jek-14s stealth starfighter is the set I am most curious about. Is it something from the TCW episodes that weren´t aired yet or can it be something based on this webshow/film/thingie "Yoda Chronicles" whose title is a replacement name for the set in some lists? Could be this yellow starfighter from the trailer and maybe some youngling figures or even the tube clone from the end. But my most anticipated set is the Mandalorian speeder. Maybe based on the season 4 episode, or on the seaosn 5 finale? At least I hope for more than only one new Death Watch fig. The disappointment that was Vizslas starfighter isn´t something I want to see repeated again. Toy Fair is in February again. I hope pics turn up a little earlier. -
This one is based on my favorite kids show about christmas: "The secret world of Santa Claus". The show tells the epic struggle between Santa Claus and Gruzzlebeard a rocker and the vilest person on earth whose only interest is to destroy the holiday season! http://www.flickr.co.../in/photostream By the way: Is it possible to swap prices with other users like with last years contest?

Lego Superheroes 2013 Rumours & Discussion

Iron Man 3 and Man of Steel are coming in May like this years Avengers. The Avengers setpics came around January-March. I don´t expect details for movie sets before Toy Fair. I am glad that LEGO finally realized that they could use NYCC for announcements instead of doing nothing at all, but it is still stupid of them to hold back the Spidercycle and Mr. Freeze. They aren´t tied to a project that they would spoil and the otherwise standard excuse that the other construction brands could copy their sets is simply wrong when the sets depend on licenses. -

LEGO ignores the New York Comic-Con like they did San-Diegos Comic-Con before 2009. Nothing ever got announced there, there are no exclusive NYCC sets. LEGO gave away Green Lantern, Black Nolan Batman and Superman at NYCC in form of a raffle but it shows how much they care about this Con when its "exclusive" prize was a Superman figure that is exactly the same as the retail version. And even not concerning LEGO I never heard of any news story that started there. The first few figures were shown at San-Diego 2011. Setlists appeared around September (and the summer sets didn´t have any names on there). Preliminary set pics of the Winter wave appeared around November/December. More information about the Summer sets was randomly sprinkled bit by bit over January and February. It´s more likely the sets are ignored by TLC until the actual release and we get news through someone with the retail catalogue who gives out a list or photographs. That LEGO realized San-Diego would make a great place for set/product announcements is only a recent discovery of theirs. Before 2009 they only put up a few displays of current sets and maybe some dioramas, a stand to sell their current waves and some exclusive boxes with recycled figures/minisets and crappyly designed models. When they make up their minds about New Yorks Comic-Con being a good place to release more info about the Christmas/January waves it´s probably already 2024. -
Probably these are only repeats but LEGO needs to know if the figs are popular with other people, too. From the Marvel movies: Captain America Red Skull Bucky The Howling Commandos Armin Zola Howard Stark Maria Hill Agent Coulson Nick Fury Warmachine Hydra troops Generic Comic versions of: Captain America Doctor Doom J. Jonah Jameson From DC: Manbat Riddler (50s Batman Style with green hat, suit and new piece as cane) Music Meister Darkseid The Flash Gorilla Grodd Aquaman (Brave and Bold) Booster Gold Black Canary Ra´s al Ghul And of course something from the Nolan movies
