Gorgeous vignette! Especially like the transition from the sandy beach to the water and those waves using the windshields. Fantastic!

Absolutely wonderful and hyper-realistic creation. The detail and authenticity in your design makes this one of the best minifigure scale construction vehicles ever. Love it, fantastic work.

Its not a partnership with Lockheed Martin or Raytheon. Who cares if they let another company use their color scheme and logo for a pair of shoes or some denim jackets. If someone wants to wear their love of Lego why does that bother you. It's no different from a t-shirt, backpack or lunchbox which they sell right on the Shop@Home site. You know they steal from Eurobricks members. They steal builder's creations from this very site and sell them. And despite that you think its a better value. Reprehensible. Lego has been the world's largest toy company by revenue since 2015 so any random fan thinking they can manage TLG better is:

Should lego do Star Trek or just Star Wars

Yeah its kind of nauseating how much junk they've made. Those are some bizarre and completely unnecessary products. Really paved the way for merchandising absurdity. -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
koalayummies replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
It is a variety of Art Deco and if you don't like the classification then you've got a lot of work to do to change that. "In the late 1930s, a new variety of Art Deco architecture became common; it was called Streamline Moderne or simply Streamline, or, in France, the Style Paqueboat, or Ocean Liner style." Its like saying that Philadelphia City Hall isn't Second Empire style because you're comparing it to The Palais Garnier or Marseille Cathedral. They're all the same architectural style despite looking very different. -

Awesome MOD Pedro. You didn't have to mention me but I appriciate it. This guy's legit and went out of his way to contact me beforehand. I always try to mention inspiration but sometimes its really hard to keep track of everything yet it's nice to know that there are builders out there who care about this sort of thing. Sharing ideas and inspiration is one of the best parts of building Lego and the MOC/MOD community and I'm glad it inspired you. I really like the changes you've done, its one of the cooler vehicles and you've made it a lot better. The hydraulic looking lift arms for the tow crane is a nice touch and makes it look more realistic than mine. Excellent work!

If 7 more people quote a whole post with all the images in it then we'll be at a new page! And we should do the same thing on that page too! -
I like the tag on this thread; didn't know we were allowed to use expletives. Are we allowed to use expletives?

So you're the one snatching up everything on release day!? The super exciting topic of driving in LA like an SNL skit aside; the point was their advertising is lacking, brick and mortar is dying, often businesses try and break into the biggest and spendiest of cities early and they have no internet sales, given that this thread is about one of their stores closing.
-
That's why I used the qualifier 'essentially' absent. The area you speak of is 4,850 square miles.
-
Never heard of them. Looks like some 30 retail stores in the US but essentially absent from the second and third largest GDP cities in the world (NYC, LA), apparently only advertise on on Zuckerberg's boomer networking platforms and have shunned e-commerce. Interesting.

Problems with uploading pictures
koalayummies replied to gvb2003's topic in Forum Information and Help
On a phone from the app I think you can only share the BB code/copy link. You used to be able to grab the image-only deep links by accessing Flickr with a web browser on your phone but the site has since been optimized for mobile and I can't find a 'desktop version' option anywhere (like Wikipedia has for example). -

My last order was $17, plus four for shipping. So yeah we have much better shipping but if we get sick or shot (better odds here ) or somehow wind up in the hospital then we go into debt so... I'd take paying more for shipping in exchange for healthcare lets trade. -

That's in line with the 'adult builder' mindset desiring realism over play features and echoed a lot when an AFOL thinks a set could've been better made without Lego constantly thinking of kids. There's other mindsets than just viewing sets from the build, or playability, or that it has minidolls, or whether it's 'too girly' or just for children. For example MOCers are often solely concerned with the Price Per Piece ratio and consider the entire gamut of themes for desirable pieces disregarding any of the above listed concerns. From this perspective everything is awesome and there's almost nothing to complain about, except the people constantly complaining.
