Nah you nailed them! All very identifiable and you added a nice touch with the 3D construction of them. Very cool concept and execution!

Jean jacket and jean pants, Lego Canadian tuxedo.

Aboslutely, and for kids its just a little ugly. I do like the CMF for parts, prints, faces; they're very useful in that regard. Its the method that is less than pleasant.

LEGO Ideas Discussion

All ideas approved! Considering how 2020 has gone and that we still haven't reached the asteroid, solar flare, extraterrestrial invasion or gamma ray burst months its not like we'll be around to see them anyway. -
No they're here, but they're over in the Lego Collectible Minifigures master thread in the Special Themes forum. There was a heated debated when I suggested that the blind bag model was a sleazy way to market and sell toys to kids and a couple were like "YOU CANNOT CHANGE THE BLIND BAG AMENDMENT!".

The totally blank figures are for those who are into completing Monochrome Minifigures collections, usually in a rainbow like display. I understand the appeal of the monochrome figure displays but as a purist I'm only interested in genuine Lego so I wouldn't touch that third party stuff.
-
Yeah I don't get the collecting either but if that's what they want to do then whatever. Here's my CMF for MOC bin. I just throw all the CMFs in there and take heads/faces or torsos, rip arms off and just use them as parts for figures in MOCs.

Other uses for LEGO beyond building
koalayummies replied to Bricky Joe's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Lot more of the life-hack types here. 1x3 brick as a makeshift thimble (using anti-stud side for needle capture). Brick separator as automotive trim panel pry tool. And any Lego plate sharp edge to scratch mosquito bites. -
Is it time for LEGO to stop being colorblind?

So if a builder simply prefers the non-biological-pigment yellow figures then they're fragile? -
Anyone else find the Mosaic theme boring?

Oh yeah that is a fair point. Thanks for the clarification. Yeah they're not like the Go Brick Me Brickheadz set that was truly open-ended make-your-own-models. -
TLG delivers double-digit growth during 1H 2020

Online classes for kids, parents at home with their kids all day, kids not really allowed to go out and socialize, buy em a toy. A theory on City: there are ~46 "sets" for 2020 City, 30% of those (or 14 sets) are Police themed. Current events probably having an impact there. -

How to classify damage on LEGO set box?
koalayummies replied to LIVEnannino's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Psssh, that is utterly ruined and destroyed there's no way anyone on the entire planet could ever open that up and build and enjoy it with the product packaging in such terrible condition and the entire thing should be returned to the seller and then to Lego and both of them should be fined and sanctioned for such horrible inexplicable wickedness. /s If you're so worried about the potential future resale value then contact the seller with this and let this thread die quickly. The absurdity that is discontinued Lego set profiteering. -
Any word on whether this will be available in China?

You don't speak for all AFOL. Seems like you're searching for nostalgia while criticizing Lego for trying something new that in no way detracts what you're interested in. How is this theme not creative, while yet another minifigure based building, or a microscale pirate ship is? Yes that's what AFOL do. Are you playing with your Old Fishing Store? Having the mom and kid minifigures walk in, buy lures and then go fishing off the pier? That's fine if you do but it seems most put their builds on a shelf and display them. The mosaics are a higher art form compared to a lot of Lego offerings. Lego fans have been MOCing their own mosaics for a very long time so if TLG sees some potential in offering mosaics to those who don't have photoshop then its a theme worth trying out. You're entitled to your opinion that they're boring but having a 1x1-plate-based pointillism-esque portrait of some person you like on display seems a heck of a lot more classy than some weird standalone no context minifigure fishing store building. If I walk into someones place and they have a Lego-built mosaic of Martin Luther King Jr. hanging on the wall I'd think "woah, that is awesome!". But If instead I see the Old Fishing Store on display in their living room I'd think "ehhhh, put that in another room out of sight, you know like behind a door along side your katanas, fedora collection and fully body anime pillows". -

Exactly. Even better if you just got bummed out seeing sets you can't get to get a consolation cinnamon roll or pretzel. -

Lol it really is! The store I usually go to has a Cinnabon/Auntie Anne's combo in-between the parking garage and Lego. I don't think I've had either since 2019. -

From what I heard it is partly cloudy all the time and everything is very bright and sort of emanating light and rainbows. The people there fly around with wings coming out of their backs and the bins are more basket like and sort of floating and pieces appear to magically pop out of nowhere and land in the containers. -
Absolutely incredible, especially the rounded section and domed roof. Really like your color choices as well. Neoclassical, and super classy. Fantastic work!

That's really great info I had no idea they were doing that. Thanks! What about Cinnabon; then it'll be like a normal Lego store trip for me. And yeah I thought there had to be some Angelenos on EB. Its good to know! -
Indeed! Also the Unikitty tails, Friends ring, tires on the boots, rollerskate tongue and grey barrels. That's a lot of really clever parts usage.

Dang it Megbricks! Its because you have way too much stuff in your cart. Reduce some stuff. Just joking. But probably true. Right? Completely messing around here just for clarification. Its calculating taxes and shipping for the one Duplo brick I selected for testing. Maybe its just Duplo Bricks and Pieces now. -

The Glendale store is also my 'home' store, greetings from the valley. But how did that curbside setup work at Topanga? Like how did you find out what was in stock and do the transaction? Was it entirely from your car/not going into the mall? Also very cool they sorted the blind bags out.
