I like larger scale brick built animals like dragons, wojira, large spiders or scorpions. I do think molded animals are necessary like squirrels, birds, deer, sheep, cows, lions, snakes, bats, fish, etc. I'm not a fan of the minidolls either mainly becaus of articulation I liked some of the vidiyo figs. I think the newer CMF's are fine just like the old ones. Some of the costume figs are neat though mainly it's just not what I collect.

10305 Lion Knights' Castle 90th anniversary set
zoth33 replied to R0Sch's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
@DaleDVM I didn't realize that was you. That is an excellent display I've seen the video a few times. You've got a great selection of minifigs. I really liked all the different shops, farms and gardens. The castle design is very interesting also. I'm hoping one day to have a display like this. I'm actually tearing some builds down to start a larger project but I've been quite busy lately with work and family stuff. How far are you on the second section now?- 2,976 replies

10305 Lion Knights' Castle 90th anniversary set
zoth33 replied to R0Sch's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I have some grey and black bullet helms and none of mine are broken from the 80's. I also didn't have an issue with the clutch of minifig heads. So it's probably on a case to case basis with those things. I don't think we will get a new version of the bullet helm because of the great helm and the nasal helms we already have but they could surprise us. Or like you said they may introduce something new for this very special set.- 2,976 replies

How is this not a thing? [Castle Battle Pack]
zoth33 replied to SirBlake's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Maybe the thinking it's more adult oriented has to do with shows like GOT and the witcher. But I thought LOTR and the Hobbit appealed to a wider audience. And now you've got The Rings of Power coming out that doesn't seem to adult oriented and the WoT. Kids are definitely into dragons and castle like stuff just look at How to Train a Dragon, the Dragon Prince, Troll Hunters just to name a few really popular shows. So I agree that there is definitely fantasy things kids are into now and that kids would buy castle stuff just like in the past. I only say that the massive popularity of GOT maybe some people at lego saw that as more adult oriented stuff but there is other franchises that are quite popular with kids in the fantasy realm. And with the popularity of D&D and Magic the gathering there is so much that lego could do to include kids and adults interests in the same theme if they did it right. My 12 year old son already wants the $350 lion castle and we haven't even seen it yet and the lion knights are his favorite. He also likes army building so he can have big battles. Obviously this is just my kid but I'm sure there are more like him that would like this kind of stuff. They could easily do there own theme and make it great. We will just have to hope this pushes them to see the potential -
Yeah but I think SW is more popular than HP. I think it will be especially with Rowlings feelings and how people are reacting nowadays. Even though HP is popular I don't think it will reach SW levels.

Pick a brick is back up -
Very nice griffon. I really like the design of the wings with the Ninjago wing piece. I think it would look better without the armor though.

The covered stairway is great. Really nicely designed build. I like the figs and obviously goats, goats, goats.

I think generations are still inspired by Star Wars. My kids one is going to be 17 later this year and one is 12 both love Star wars. They both really like the Mandalorian and Boba fett. They also really liked the force awakens but were really disappointed with the rise of skywalker.

I think the viking ship comes out in august here in the US.

And the cape is nice too. The other Kenobi set has the Kaminoan that could be useful for some custom figs, even just the torso and legs are really nice The fifth brothers head will be useful along with the grand inquisitors head. Really all the figs have useful parts. -

I get what you are saying but as with Maple it's nothing to get that worked up about. I'm sure we will find out details soon enough. If not there is always bricklink for now. -
Very nice build. Looks amazing and looks like it has some good articulation.

Yeah I remember that. I wish they would do that with the small bird that is now in white, red, and blue also chickens would be nice. Even fish would be good to stock up on. Really any animal, bird or fish in a PaB wall would be great.

Do you know of any knockoff brands that sell individual pieces like Lego does? Lego has always been expensive even when I was younger. My parents couldn't afford the big sets when I was a kid. If you want other brands have at it and Lego didn't say it PaB wasn't coming back. -

The visors were in the Cmf with the good knight in grey. I can't remember which series though. I think it will be $160 like last time I believe in the US. I really didn't think we would get a goat to be honest would have been nice but I will take a cow, I just hope it's a different color from the city one for some variety. That's a possibility. I'm sure there will be some castle stuff in there and space to go with the new spaceship. I get you on the gift with purchase but there are some sets that I still want to pick up so that will be as I will be getting the viking 3in1 and some other sets. I think this set is a great deal with the ppp ratio and the minifigs and animals plus looks like new flags and possibly capes with printing.- 2,976 replies

LEGO Dungeons & Dragons - one step closer?
zoth33 replied to AmperZand's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Ok but it doesn't have to be based off the game like I said it can be based off the books or like sir blake said the new movie. Even if they did base it off the game there are several guides they could pull characters from. But let's go your root and do it game like and give the set a multitude of minifg parts to make your own character and a map or a board. Then they could expand from there like a tavern or ruins or castle. Yes or like I said any of the books would be fine like Forgotten realms or Dragonlance. -

Are you saying the WOT show was fantastic or the books? I like the books and the story is good. I would take WOT sets absolutely even if based off of the show but I doubt we will get them. As for your point with D&D that goes for any form of game or art, If we both read the WOT we will both get something different from the stories or if we both look at a piece of art we will both have different views of what it is. everyone will not have the same experience with lego sets either so I'm not getting what you are trying to say. We each see things differently and that's the great thing with Lego you can make it whatever you want. -

Yeah Darkwalker on Moonshae by Niles was just so bad I never finished the trilogy. I did like Niles dragonlance the emperor of Ansalon book. I'm reading the way of kings by Sanderson now from the stormlight archives.
