Going by what I've seen so far I've a sneaky feeling that when completed this will be making it's way into the HoF.

Your Best Technic Bargains
grum64 replied to Kumbbl's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
My best bargains come from Free Ad websites/Papers and car boot/yard sales. It's almost always a case of right time & place and a good measure of luck. Wishing you all the very best in your quest. -

Local yard sale. Right place, right time I guess. -

Just bought 8043, 8110, 8258, 8285, 8275, 42054 all boxed & complete (if a little dusty) for £150 from a US airman about to head back home -

Build Day 2 - Days build time 2hrs 40mins / Total build time 8hrs 10mins Not much time to build today. Almost an hour of what time I did have was taken up trying to fit the two small assemblies (first pic below) but a good deal of patience (stubbornness!) had them in place. The rest of today's building went very well with no particular difficulties. Happy days Heres today's pics. As with yesterday's pics, I'm sorry about the quality. I've had the lens on my phones camera cleaned but the pics still aren't great. I'm not sure what's going on, I think I'll have to give Gilly's phone a try next time. -
It's a rarity in this form as around only 20 were ever converted before Kia stopped selling the Sedona in the UK. The only vehicles that can have this conversion now are the Fiat Doblo & Mercedes Citan. As for me building it, I think that's a very long way off. I've many other things to build before I get to it. I'll just enjoy watching your build evolve.

It's coming on very well, I like it. I've been thinking of building a MOC of my own 7 seater (which has been christened Gandalf by Jake as he thinks it's magical ) for sometime now but it's a daunting task, for me anyways. It's a Kia Sedona (Carnival outside of the US) with a brilliant convertion which if I were to build it I'd want to include. I'd like to think I'll get round to building it one day. One day.

I tried to build a Brickheadz DT but couldn't get the hair right but you've got it spot on. Good work.

I love your miniature build's with the Catamaran being my favourite. Any more in the pipeline? -
Sorry your children aren't happy about them not being on sale. Ask your Family, Friends & anyone else you can think of to support them and who knows, they might find their way into Toys R Us your local toy store. Thank you for your support.

Very nice set but personally I think this one is better especially the front end and roof line. Sadly, as this is a LEGO Ideas project I'm guessing the 10258 will all but kill it off. I feel for the builder, talk about bad timing.

Thank you. I've enjoyed what little I've built so far (sadly no time to do any building today ). As you say there'll likely be frustrations along the way but it's working around them makes the build that much more interesting. I'm guessing you have a very high boredom threshold -
Very nice build. With so many functions and great details you can't help but be impressed. I'm looking forward to seeing the finished model.

Grum's Shed

It will indeed keep me busy. As for attaching the upper arm. I've been through the instructions countless times and watched numerous build videos on Youtube I've come to the less than startling conclusion that I'll cross that bridge when I get to it. I bought the BWE on the day it came out and it's sat on a shelf in my shed until now. Chances are if Jake hadn't choosen this for me to build it'd still be there this time next year! Thank you Andy for your kind comments re: my builds. While people want them I'll keep doing them. -
