  1. Brick Bank may be sold out in some places but over here you can still find it below MSRP in 10+ eshops.
  2. Somehow I like it even less now... It feels overcrowded in some places and quite bland/empty at others. Look at the view at 1:21...
  3. What's disappointing to me is that the bumped piece count (that could at least partly justify the increased price) is padded by what looks like a very large volume of 1x1 pieces.
  4. I think they did a good job with depicting the ideas they wanted to do, with a slightly smaller footprint to accomodate the pump, but the end result is not something I am excited for. The color scheme is quite boring when compared to older modulars, the general shape leaves the weird gaps on the side of the center structure and the facade doesn't seem very interesting. Coupled with a price bump...
  5. First impressions? I don't like it. The way they achieved the shape is bound to leave gaps (as you can see), the color scheme is rather boring, for lack of a better word (I really didn't like the Town Hall colors) and the facade looks quite simplistic with that window design. Maybe with more photos from different angles I will change my mind?
  6. Props to LEGO for keeping the set under wraps this long. Even if the name and piece count is accurate, we still didn't get a single picture leak. I'm hyped like everyone else, crossing my fingers for some new/rare colors.
  7. I'm expecting lots of the new Vibrant Coral colored bricks. Ideally a full suite of 1x1, 1x2, 1x4, 1x6 and 1x8 but I can live with just the first three of those in nice DO quantity.
  8. I can dig it. Although it seems strange because I have never seen a gas station with something above it (other than a roof-like structure to shelter from the rain). I wouldn't really want to work/live above a gas station...
  9. Fair enough, that's cool then. I'm not too thrilled about paying more for extra car(s) I don't really want, but at least the modular itself will retain enough pieces.
  10. These were briefly published on Amazon FR, so definitely not fake, but could be a mistake. Though it does happen on occasion that Amazon lists details early. It brings a new perspective to the garage modular, as with 6,5kg of pieces, there would be a lot of bricks for several cars and a larger footprint.
  11. Oh wow, that would be pretty cool. Basically interchangable interior scenes where you have the standard repair shop for the father but you can also move equipment around and bring down instruments to have a space for the son's band. That would be awesome!
  12. Looking at the newly introduced parts, I'm willing to bet we are getting at least Vibrant Coral highlights on the facade of the new modular, if not something more. Also, the new rounded slope pieces are also something that would probably be used, since modulars usually take full advantage of latest brick technology.
  13. So much this. It doesn't help that the cars don't really mesh well with Speed Champions.
  14. Has anyone found any MOCs in this Garage theme? I've done a brief search and couldn't find anything.
  15. I suppose technically the Fire Brigade was also a garage, albeit for a specific type of car, now that I think about it. In the end, I'm really interested in how they handle the facade, as garages aren't exactly known for interesting exteriors.
  16. I really dislike when pieces are "wasted" on supplemental builds, like cars. If they are going to put in 2 cars at a similar piece count of 2200-2400, it's bound to show in the building design. I expect a garage is going to mean a lot of empty space inside.
  17. To be fair, they could just rebuild Barcelona in Lego and have enough material for awesome, interesting buildings for the foreseeable future.
  18. As a kid, I was really into Bionicle when the first wave hit and I absolutely loved that you could combine three of the figures to form a larger one. I always thought that it was a shame you could only build 1 thing from any given set (I suppose I would have loved 3in1 we have today). And it's the same now that I am older - while I love displaying the sets, they do get kind of stale after some time. Having alternate models allows me to rebuild the street into completely different buildings without mixing pieces together, in case I want to go back to the original set. And I suppose if I had a bit more spending cash, I might consider buying two sets to display alongside each other - one original and one alternate. Yep, no extra pieces at all. I opened the box, removed the spares and built from the rest. Then I crosschecked all of the required pieces against Rebrickable's Inventory to make sure everything is there. I didn't even think about it when I made it! I was just playing around, thinking what could I make with that particular teal piece as it doesn't really connect to anything well. Originally, I wanted to put two of these pieces above one another to form an incomplete circle - and then put something into that circle as a decoration. But it turned out that would require way more space than I originally thought.
  19. Instructions available here. I'm sure I'm not the only who on one hand appreciated the different direction Lego took with the DD design, but on the other hand found it hard to incorporate seemlessly into an existing town layout, since the architectural style is so distinct. So I set out to rebuild the set in a style more resembling the other modulars. And the result is the Internet Café Corner Modular. I almost gave up halfway through when I realized there wasn't enough bricks to build all the side walls I wanted, but in the end I managed to scrape together enough pieces to build everything I set out to. The first floor contains a couple computers to use for internet access and a small café with free Wi-Fi. The second floor has some living space and the rooftop a small garden.
  20. Wow! That's absolutely amazing. The amount of details you were able to cram into such a small space is simply astonishing!
  21. Lovely! Nice color scheme, true to the original and most importantly - very few stickers! More like this, please, Lego.
  22. I'm not too thrilled about the Sky Police theme, though I will admit I would have thought differently when I was a kid. So this is probably just a case of not being the target audience.
  23. I'd love something refreshing when it comes to the color scheme - though if we are going for a more realistic look, it makes sense to use subdued (sand) colors instead of bright ones. I would love to see the return of sand red or a similar subdued red as speculated. A subdued shade of violet or cyan would also be quite nice, but I'm not holding my breath for those.
  24. Thanks! That's actually how the entire design process started. I saw the amount of water tiles and knew I had to integrate them somehow - and a pool was the best solution. When I then realized that I had enough blue pieces for two swimming lanes, I knew it would make it clear what the design was supposed to be and that pretty much confirmed the general idea behind it.
