  1. It's green and horny, can't miss it! given by... I'm not sure... a play on my previous title: "It's huge and horny, can't miss it!" likely to celebrate my ascension to greenhood.
  2. I believe the first page is slightly out of date. We'll have to clean it up when we have a bit more time. The best place to actually sign up is to actually head over to the pinned thread of the guild of your choice - and introduce yourself there, and pledge your allegiance!
  3. Kustig , we look forward to your arrival. We'll keep a seat warm and the ale on ice or ya. Arwald Sharp! Welcome. A man of few words, but quick action. We need men like you. Wahil, my good man great news about the progress! It sounds like the Emir has a solid plan on what we need. I look forward to seeing more from you in the future. Though I hope your hand is not too firm with your slaves and men.... Master Cartographer Gex - Your title is well deserved. As the master of the map, I leave it to you to travel the wasteland and determine where to place all our new discovered places. Though I think as a general rule of thumb, until we can have visual confirmation (of completed mocs) perhaps we should hold off to adding it on the map... Though I'm curious why it would be salt lake... is there salt there? some deposits of interesting minerals that we should explore? We know the rivers flowing from the Rakath mountains to be pure, despite the dark taint.... but what makes it salty in the lake? Jahi Khaldun! What incredible weapons you are developing... laced weapons and summoned legions - we shall soon have an army that will be feared among the four great realms. Though I pray to the High King Draconian that we shall not need them... Abū Alī! Fantastic tower. I love the proud placement of the Kaliphlin colours on your family fortress. We hope to hold the the ground for you, while you seek your truth. For a mystic once told me, that the Truth Shall Set Us Free. Hopefully as you gaze into the stars, you can make sense of all these ill tidings that we have been hearing. And might I complement you on your most fearsome of door guards. Ghi'natn, yes, I must sadly admit that us dwarfs are a bit ... single minded on tasks. Ask for a tower, and we shall build a tower... but you must tell us where! Many moons ago, my old master bid me to build a monstrous drill. Me and my brethren worked day and build the largest drill ever constructed, going through rock and earth till it pierced the skin of Gaia herself till she bleed black oil... Though it was only after my old master explained he wanted a drill to go through enemy walls... and don't get me started on when he asked us to get rid of all this black stuff, and we tried to burn it like all our other garbage..... Yakob my Red friend, fantastic addition to our armourments. It looks to be the perfect size to be easily transported to break down towers of any future enemy... -- Wither-Woods sounds like a very apt name for our ... less than boisterous foliage. Thash, we thank you for your map. With the exception of our traders, we do not get to travel very far north, so it is good to see what the rest of the world is like... And I believe every other realm's guilds are named after thier realm (unless the times have changed). Alas some of the other leaders may not have wasted spent the time to think up so many place names
  4. Wow ... I admired your castle from afar before, but to see it like this ... is eye opening! I usually don't think about Technic frames in anything besides Scifi SHIPS (and I guess Technic too. ) Some fantastic tips, definitely will revisit this when I ever attempt my castle layout. Thanks so much for sharing, it really is appreciated.
  5. Erudhalion Sansael - I have heard rumours your islands. While we have dealt with your traders in the past, and met in the ports of Barqa we knew not of their origin. Thank you for sharing your stunning vistas with us. It just goes to show how large and diverse the south really is. You, your ships, and men shall be an excellent addition to our family, and we welcome you. The ships may prove useful if enemies starts to take to the seas. (have a safe trip Gabe, we'll be here when you get back - really fantastic stuff - can't wait till you get back) Ah Yakob, I see the Black Oil Liquor has not permanently damaged your Foreman's senses - as the Nocturnus would have us believe. The tower looks great. It's interesting you went with such a curvy angled look - you defintely don't see that in most Towers. Nice way to be different :) Though I think you need a few more plates in the top of the tower like the second section. Velethuil, Excellent little outpost. Perhaps a fire pit behind the structure would be in order? something to cook or roast some ... desert turkey? And I'd consider a posting a fine Elven Bowsmen to utilize that nice hole there. Master Cartographer Gex! I see you are blessed with not just cartography skills but Army building as well. I feel safer already with your men at my back. My dearest Queen of the Sand, What wondrous and incredible band you travel with. I am frankly a bit speechless at some of your fellow travellers. Their clothing and unique use of garb are utterly brilliant. As are your oliphants! truly a ride fit for a queen! -- Fantastic work everyone After being at a show all day yesterday coming on to see all this amazingness is great :D RE: Flickr Group? Is anyone NOT on flickr? I agree another Pro would be this forum would be slightly less cluttered if we post WIPs in Flickr. we could simply have a link here if there's an update (for those that don't check flickr that often).
  6. Amelia, you have a good point it is/was an oasis. So officially the original story made sense! haha. though interms of adding interesting possibilities (eg able to build a river/canons/use water for trading) let's use the 'newly found' information? Those are some fantastic looking WIPs you got there Amelia, The concentric arches are a fantastic touch. Semiramis! That is a fine assortment of men and women you have there! Those Oliphaunts seem to have quite the luxurious ride... I may have to enquire to my personal shopper to get some... Yakob, ill news regarding your Foreman. I hope he wasn't drinking the Black Oil - liquor we sell to Nocturnus. That's strong stuff not to be trifled with! Fine board of the PGTC, it is good to finally put some faces to the names I have seen. That is quite the board room you have, with such a view of the city. Bastet must love those high windows

    Canadian Eh?

Thanks for the details Winbrant. For the online orders: Free shipping - when you spend $49. $99 to get holiday set 2. 10% if you order over 149. Today (Sat 19th) only. -- And it looks like the website is broken. haha
  8. I liked the idea of water /river carving a huge canyon through/near Petraea... I don't know... I think those dragons and surfer is pretty spiffy
  9. I've said it a few times now - but still... that's is one awesome griffin... And I hear ya about the space - I'm the same way... I'm pretty sure Iain isn't happy that I'm taking a year long sabbatical from our SPACE layouts.
  10. Welcome Pico des Verches! Another brother to join the ranks. Our strength grows with with every passing day.... -- Captain Hardiel, thank you for your progress report - fantastic progress! the colour highlights are great, as is the dark tan layers on the bottom. Rasputin, excellent intel reports - it is good we're finding more about the these mysterious friends of ours in the Mountains. I may have to take a trip Qarkyr region and meet these cloth wrapped tribesmen. Yakob, That is a might fine looking tower you have started. Perhaps you should add some additional tiling to reinforce the structure - I have heard reports of catapults and other weapons we must be wary about. When I meet the other Guild Leaders in Cedrica, we decided agreed to prolong the peace - but I am not overly confident how long the other leaders can keep their minons in line... so we must be ready.... Great leader of of Avalonia, we thank you for your envoy and to let us toast our renewed friendship and peace. As a token of Kaliphlin's good will, accept this barrel of our finest black oil for your Oil Lamps and ... if the need arises... it can be used as the a devastating incendiary projectile. -- RE: Signatures As a rule - let's all add our names in our signatures - makes things easier to keep track of ;) RE: Titles Fantastic idea. I was hopping for some sort of nomination or democratic process. I think that will make it much more rewarding when the Title is earned. I would also like to make the first nomination: Tafik Regex Marmota (NiceMarmot)- for "Master Cartographer" RE: Flickr Group I thought about this before... There are some pros and cons. Cons - This is suppose to be a EB thing - makes sense to share it here. As well it gives other guilds opportunity to join into our little group. Not everyone is on flickr - some are on mocpages etc. And there are some that are just lurkers that also wouldn't be able to enjoy our work. Pros: Flickr's built in picture sharing / note adding is a fantastic way to collaborate and offer suggestions. It provides privacy for our 'secret' builds and other works. What does everyone think? RE: Map Yes the flickr map would work well - so we can plop down where things are... though there is an official map coming out soon that will be hosted here so that people can find everything. @Wahil - Don't worry about it - I think you should keep going with that angle. I hear Dextrus' brother may be involved in some shady dealings. Over all I'm very happy of the group we have so far (and hopefully more joining!) - I really do think we have one of the better realms - there is SO much we can do with the south. So many different locals and architectural styles... it's really up to us what we want to do And for the record - it's understandable people are busy - so don't kill your self trying to build or addictively refreshing this thread. We'll be here all year :) I can't wait to see everyone's WIP... -- Edit- Yakob had a good point ... Petraea is kinda in the middle of no where... anyone have objections to extending either salt lake or Akrabi river and rerouting it through Petraea? that makes a bit more sense no? For all the newer members, don't forget to read the first post - I'll try to keep it up to date with all the newest info...
  11. Fantastic style. I really dig it.
  12. Fearsome machine you have there. Might I suggest purchasing some of our fine Black Oil? A barrel ignited and hurled causes quite the firestorm when impact.... come come I'll introduce you to my Trade Emissary! Awesome! The trolls and the little dialogue are a nice touch! That beast head is also really nicely done. it's a bit hard to tell - does it actually fire projectiles? have you tested how far it launches?
  13. I haven't seen a tower done like that - but I believe flat sides of buildings.... Fantastic build. I love the 'little things' you do to add such a great over all impression. And as always - love your story telling ;D We could use someone of your linguistic talents over in the south... just say'n.
  14. Fantastic Jorgevorg! Beasts like that are what we need! Sorry if I was too in character - but yeah I don't mind the slavers - like I said I think it would fit well in the world - and while Drextus may not necessarily mind slaves, SlavERS I would think would be slightly more touchy... but like I said - this could be interesting as you guys point out... I don't mind if we create slaver center we still have like a year to go... more possible plot points the better Also don't change your backstory, it was a good one ;) Excellent point. I have brought it up with the Council to see what they have to say. Before we have discussed the concept of the 'Free Build' vs the 'Competition' builds... the idea we were floating was that everyone could build whatever when ever they wanted, and we would introduce monthly (give or take) challenges for 'Coin' - and every one in awhile a Major challenge that would last longer and build up even more Coin. and of course Prizes... and we may or may not have something special at the end. Oh... and we'll want to get as much Coin as we call... it'll be important later on ... trust me. I had given this thought - I was originally going to wait till we got rolling more before starting to hand out more titles and activities. Plus it would have been nice to get a good sense of what people were good at. But if people feel like they wana multitask and do other stuff we can start building up the guild structure. Though keep in mind we need towers/outposts! What were you guys thinking in terms of roles? based on what people build, similar to the other guilds? or based on guild structure like Basiliscus' suggestion? While I really like the idea of giving out titles and a prize for most titles won - I prefer substance or quantity. Since we're one of the smaller guilds it's that much more important to take the time to build well - so we can maximize our coin... maybe I'll put out an additional prize to the top Coin earner ;) Thoughts ?

    Canadian Eh?

I know in the states they do the scratch and save 10-50 but its like 2 50% off per store or something really low. I know a guy a few years ago bought like 1200 in lego and got the 50%. Of course he went back and got two more isd with the money he saved. The guys at the store called him 'the one' for years
  16. Lord Shale! Excellent! I had feared that the rumours of the problems at our quarry mines were true. It is reassuring to hear that they are safe and are producing at full capacity? We have an urgent need, the High King has decreed to challenge us in repairing out defenses in only but a few short weeks. By the Fifteenth of the Last Month, we must be ready to present to the King! Jahi Khaldun Ibn Maibe What a wondrous army! We had heard stories and rumours from our brothers from Qarkyr about the Mountain Mummies tribes, are your men from a similar tribe from near the river? While we're not at war at the moment, if there are spies among us they'll think twice with such a presence in our ranks! Antoi - Our oil faculties are currently secret - though I'm sure they will be shown in time... if an industrious guild member would like to show us ... be my guest Fantastic work everyone... I'm really liking what I see. FOR KALIPHLIN!
  17. I also play the guitar fairly well. Ironically not in Hero form I am also fantastic at gliding over ice with knives strapped on my skates. But so is every other Canadian, eh. I can also stare at computers screens for hours looking busy while I mentally design MOCS.

    Canadian Eh?

Cool nick, nice to meet you - virtually that is. I wonder if anyone else here works for a LEGO store? Fairview is bigger - but currently sherway has better pab wall.
  19. Vellethul brings up an excellent point, currently we are in good standings with the other three realms thanks to our ambassadors and some properly placed bribes. While peace still exists we should look towards more trade selling to the others even acting as a third party to trade between two other realms. For now is the time to build up our warchest. While I know the High King won't permit outright war - I fear that raids from other guilds may increase. So we must ready ourselves and look towards strengthening our borders! How goes the tower rebuilding efforts? I have not heard the official decree but you can assu$e the High King would want the towers done 30 nights after his order to build.
  20. AntoiBrother from the East islands. We welcome you, we do not see many of your kind here - we hope to learn much from you. And of course trade in your unique goods. As-Salam Alaikum brotherWahil Musca. It is good that you heard from our scouts, we have sent them far and wide to bring forth the worthy to this council here in Petraea. And this your son? Bahru, you are the spitting image of your father - are you of age for Ale yet? if so, join us in the grand hall. --With regards to Slave Camp... you can if you want, but I promise nothing the safety of such a camp - there are some here that don't take kindly to slavers. Interesting ideas Basiliscus - I like a spice area - we DO have the sultan of spice... Though I think the we were thinking of putting Las Vegga there. It seems we have a fairly good relationship with Avalonia - which makes sense to have good trade, their wood for our oil etc. So yeah the forest aren't as important - I thought it would be good to have them in case anyone wanted to build some foresty castles. I'm not sure about the slavery bit... while some pockets would be interesting - given that the supposed leader of the guild is a freed x-slave I would think there would be some what anty slavery action going - but if you want to take it up and be abit of a dark horse in the realm - by all means... we'll tolerate you with some polite hostility between us. -- Once again, fantastic griffen Yakob !
  21. It is good that our caravan made it safely - it had left our safe borders before this unease and this new "Drow" activity. Enjoy our fine Oils and boulder sized Ferrero Rochers my brothers in the North! -- Lovely build - I like the icicles and the snow and tree work. The tower itself some great 'brick' work... and the red plates on the top - nicely played! Not much to complain here.
  22. Gex! What a wonderful addition to our budding army! Absolutely fantastic - I must send word to the Qarkyr and congratulate them on their efforts. And Construction has started - and on schedule? excellent! Feel free to share with us here if you wish. Jingo, your friends are most welcome, and they bring mighty steeds with them. This shall do wonders to protect our Realm - and those TALONS! absolutely fantastic. I look forward to hearing more of your tales. Rasputin, my good friend, even I the leader of the Kaliphlin do not have such a splendid suite. I must discuss with you how I may rent it for an evening ... or two. (did you use a flash to take the picture? I'm surprised it didn't reflect off the monitor. Have you considered not using a flash? it gives slightly more accurate shadows- but if you do the monitor would be super bright. my other suggestion is maybe move some of the back buildings more to give more illusion of depth - but very cool and definitely captures the feel :) My fellow Guildmates - yes I must a bare some responsibility on the sad state of our defenses - with so many years of peace we have been negligent with our towers - with only the minimal that have been up kept. We have started the process of rebuilding and I ask thee all to help in the efforts - either build fantastic new towers, or repair our decrepit ones. Or even build new towers ontop of our decayed ones!
  23. Thanks! - haha in store... well played. Who doesn't love cheese? I think I need a Tower Bridge for South building I'm going to be doing. yes! we should trade. Black Oil is fantastic source of heat and power! Plus we very much like your glaicer waters from your lofty mountains. Thanks, it's my first attempt at sand - I'm guessing I'm going to get a lot more practice And Of course you can't rent ostriches here. That's plain silly. Ostriches are rented across the street at Rent-a-bird.
  24. Not bad rock work - if you have them I'd try to swap out the 2x2x4 slopes and use the 1x2x4 they look a lot more rock like. And you might want to put some foliage on the dark green grass to make it slightly more interesting. Is there anything hidden behind the rock face? under the tower? there looks to be something there ;)
  25. How doth one get inside the tower?! Though I think a splash of green or dark green would be nice - maybe swap out sand green at the bottom with a line of dark green bricks?
