Wow.... 20,000 crazy. We won't even fit in a hockey arena ;) Well I was a lurker for quite awhile. Eurobricks was, and still is *THE* source in LEGO info IMHO. With reviews and ummm 'news' it always had what I needed - at the time I wasn't as interested in the other forums so I never joined to engage in the conversation. It wasn't until I had an opportunity to give back to this community- did I join / step up from Lurker to poster - I had the rare opportunity to review the Lego Moulding Machine set. And it's been a roller coaster of fun ever since.

haha silly me! I was so busy looking at all your pictures I forgot to post my moc! Dispatched by the High King, the four leaders traveled to a small island far off the northern coast of Mitgardia. There they met an interesting band of Dwarfs and Gnomes who worshiped a red god. These silly dwarfs and Gnomes crafted idols and thing-jiggys for the red god, and wrapped them in brightly coloured papyrus. There the four leaders handed them four lists, all, checked twice. Having concluded their work they returned back to their home lands, to await that special night... Master Cartographer Gex another great build. I love that sand dune effect! plus the slightly run down look - and the back ladder is simple - yet looks good at the same time! way to sneak one under the wire -

Tashbaan ! Welcome! Welcome! All travellers are welcome through our lands. I am told you seek passage to the Spice Islands, I can help arrange travel for you and your ... companions if you need. Ah! we have another quick builder in the ranks! For some reason I really like those 1/4 rounds cylinders you used. And I like the oil moat.. you just needs some easy access to feathers to tar people with Cpt. Hardie! I thank thee for this lovely rendition of our Black Oil pumps! I have been waiting for someone to step up and try to take this on :D Simple. Elegant. Nicely done! Looks like it has some nice pumping action too! Rasputin my inventive friend ... Your builds well done - but what really sets so many of your builds apart is how unique your subject matter is. I love how you weave in the ideas into your buildings! well done. I'm between amused and blown away at all your fun little builds :) Amelia! My dear, great tower - I feel safe in my heart that our good men are watching over our peoples from such fine towers as this. Erudhalion Stunning work in such a short period of time! I am so very pleased by this... I think we may have two of the best towers While the exterior is stunning and intricately built - I can't help notice how detailed and flushed out the interiors are - truly sign of a fantastic build. -- [sorry I've been a bit busy - been doing some LUG stuff and building our first Community Showcases ... which ate up a lot of my free time] -

Fantastic MOC There is no emoticon that can express my love for that episode and this moc... Now that I think about it EB and Stonecutters share a lot in common. Both look deep within my soul and assign me a number based on the order in which I joined....

*high five* CONGRATS! I've heard rumours but nice to see :) -- I did pick up a few things @ Fairview... also left something behind No new Superhero sets yet - but they're getting some new stock tomorrow - but they typically dont know what's in the shipment till they get it - so it's anyone's guess what the get. So I suggest just going by and checking out! - and report back here!
-
I'm heading down to Fairview tonight I'll see what I can find out.

It's on Shop @ Home - estimate street date Dec 15th - so I would suspect the LBR stores should get them fairly soon. Similarly I would assume other retailers will have them soon - if not out already.

New BrickWarriors - Winter White

Someone told me about the white versions the other day - and I thought ... that's odd, and really didn't think it'd work well- but seeing the pictures -... NICE - Two-Face Minotaur is beyond cool. -
... honestly I don't think the 6 votes will hurt you that much... This is absolutely fantastic build. It is like candy delicious. I want to literally eat it. Really strong entry - as well as a few nice references thrown in there. Good luck!
-
hahah that's brilliant. I love the take you did with this. The ice cream freezer is too funny. Great build too - I'm impressed with how great you built up your ice - given a fairly limited number of trans blue parts.
-
Is only the first floor built? Great ice effects - it really makes the moc for me... And I love your bat symbol - It never amazes me the creativity people are using to get the bat symbol. :)
-
Wow.... just reading the title of your moc sent shivers down my spine.... FANTASTIC build. So many great little details ... the disarray of the apartment is very well done. The HAHAHA is awesome... I'm almost tempted to pull out my TBP and compare the scene... /clap

Simpsons xmas special - goes in to the future of where toy technology will be... ... it's so much like my dreams it's scary...

Absolutely stunning. This turned out fantastic. The snoted base worked really really well. I'm glad you stuck with it and reworked it

Wahil That is a good point, I shall take it up with the High King to see if our size restrictions for future builds can be restricted. But you were able fit an incredible amount of awesomeness in such a small place. Kcaj Nice tower. I like the modularity of the tower - and how you can remove all the levels. The bulkiness of it seems to fit right at home on the border between us and the Darklands... Yakob - Fantastic tower - It's a lot clearer when it's not snowing ;) Dugal - that is mighty impressive! I love the cliffs, and the fact that you have dug into the the ground itself! The other possibility to force persective is to take it REALLY high above facing down... and use a really narrow of depth of field. I am also quite impressed you built it so quickly! -- I know i keep saying this ... but really Great work everyone - I love how we're exploring our borders and coming up with some fantastic stuff! -
regardless of if it's possible or not - these images are FANTASTIC. Keep up the good work!

Kcaj what a fantastic calvary! Some great shaping - and the claws are particularly good - though the head I think could use a bit of work. Mikey Excellent tower - the clean and simple very well executed. Fantastic work, these shall be a wonderful addition to our defenses. Erudhalion welcome back from your travels! We greatly look forward to your return and seeing more from you. Velethuil Nice upgrade on your previous version - The background was a nice touch :) MstrOfPppts Welcome! We hope that you will make the decision to align with us - don't forget we will be at this for awhile... and we'll need all the good people we can get. Master Cartographer Tafik - some fantastic geographical points ... let's us narrow it down a bit and i"ll post it up on the front page :) I'm personally looking forward to building some Cliffs/Escarpments... And it is good to see you have completed your tower! I really like the blending of the building in the the background. While it's not as vibrant as some of our other builds it has a very utilitarian and bleak feel to it - exactly what one would expect in remote areas. Abū Alī I would be honoured if we could read some of your work. the book itself looks fantastic, and I'm sure this is a case where you can indeed judge a book by it's fantastically built cover Wahil my friend... where do I start? This is an absolutely incredible build... I think you currently have the best tower in the guild ... if not the entire Historica! really great job. You even put in trans blue on the bottom I'm assuming you don't have sufficient trans dark blue tiles to cover up the studs? To be fair - I am not too familiar with some of the claims in the lands far away from the capital - in fact there have been instance of multiple parties having claim over the same land... But our land is vast and there is room for all, so I do not forsee much problems with land ownership. As for other guilds taking OUR lands or moving boarders - well as long as the High King Darconian is alive, there shall be no such repurposing of land. Any who is stupid enough to try to wage war will be meet with the King's men as well as the other Guilds. Cpt Hardiel Fantastic restoration! Truly it was worth the wait to see it fully restored to it's previous majesty. So many nice elements - especially that rock work makes this a really nice moc - not just the tower but the over all scene is well done! -- I think as a general rule of thumb for Kaliphlin - is instead of staking a claim on land and building your own little area - why not have anyone and everyoen build in anywhere and everywhere? Instead of everyone building their own little things, I would encourage you to build in multiple areas. One of the original rationals behind this entire adventure (Besides building some fantastic collaborative builds) is to try to push people to build something new and different outside of their comfort zone ... so why not try to exemplify that? and purposefully try to spread some of our building around? Someone may have created or started building a new unique place - if it tickles someone's fancy or gives them inspiration, why not have someone build another moc that would fit into that quasi-established area? -
I have an engineering degree - and I have hard enough time putting together LEGO Technic sets... As the others have chimed in - it's not about education - it's about practice. Though those with Engineering degrees may have some additional 'practice' with some similar skills that would be beneficial/applicable to Technicing... Though there is a bit of a relationship between LEGO and Engineers ... which I always wondered: does LEGOing help make engineers/ or do engineers just naturally love lego? ;)

I'll boot you! by I Scream Clone again... We were discussing how to do a prize teaser shot, and instead of building 48 black minifigs, he wanted to just photoshop it... I may have called him lame... and maybe cheater ... and possibly said that photoshopping is a bootable offense in his country... and maybe - just maybe attached said picture:
-
Nice! some good improvements since last version. and the lighting effects really make it look / feel like being in the harsh desert sun.
-
I love how CLEAN this build is. I know I have a tendency to clutter or greeble up builds cause it's 'easy' - so I certainly do appreciate it when someone executes a very clean sharp build. very nicely done!

Guilds of Historica Introduction/General Discussion Thread
Si-MOCs replied to I Scream Clone's topic in Guilds of Historica
I think it's because of the shear number of Avalonia - there requires a bit more structure than the other guilds. For Kaliphlin I know I've been letting the guild grow organically and people have been building what they want - and I think it's resulted in some pretty interesting builds. Though in time as interest grows or wanes I could see shifts in guilds towards/away from being more structured.
