  1. Main thread: Room of Requirement - Hideout Room of Requirement - Hideout mode During the second Wizarding War, Neville Longbottom and several other students used the this Room as a hideout to escape the wrath of the new Death Eater professors, the Carrows. The problem was the lack of food, as it was one of the exceptions to Gamp's Law of Elemental Transfiguration. So the hideout adapted by adding an eighth passage into Hogsmeade, connected to the Hog's Head pub. This advantage allowed Harry, Ron and Hermione to re-enter Hogwarts. Room of Requirement - Hideout mode This was build was a bit rushed and unfortunately all the fun details are buried a bit ... like the tunnel and the underside of the roof. Overall I'm still pleased with it given the build time. But I wasn't last to finish While Ron and Hermione go off and snog, here's a better shot of the tunnel to Hogsmeade: Room of Requirement - Hideout Mode - Outta the way Ron and Hermione!

  3. Those are AWESOME. I love how the other one actually is able to transform... Makes me want to build one of these bad boys... then another... then another... then just camp out with line of marines Very cool - thanks for sharing :)
  4. 1) Welcome to EB! 2) Awesome looking scout mech! 3) GREAT presentation ! I love it! 4) nice work with building the legs - it looks quite realistic and feels like it could actually support some weight.
  5. Touch of death! NAAAAAARRR by ... they know who. I was caught in a cross fire of a particular conversation with CorneliusMurdock The Alliterator I'm going with Rufus! for my alliterate welcome to new Town Mods: Regards to Rick and Ricey on their rightful rise from Regulator! To a much merited move to Moderator!
  6. The AC line is actually on sale right now! Which means it's done I really liked the AC line... I'm sad to see it go... One little silver lining for 2012 is the Series 7 Space Marine: You can read all about him, and his friends in WhiteFang's awesome reivew (though you can make a good argument that a lot of the Ninjago stuff can be classified as Sci-Fi spaces-ish... )
  7. I have decided to come out of hiding, I hear there's a requirement for one last room to be built.... I hereby put on the sorting hat and join this grand effort.
  8. Sounds like you're having a great day already... Have a great Birthday
  9. You were caught in the Janurary Jerks day crossfire and they must have missed you - we'll get that straightened out for you :classic;
  10. Wow! Thanks for all the great responses... I didn't realize we had so many classic Sci Fi Fans in the house! I'll have to build another one for you guys and gals The third law was by far the hardest for me to build. The basic idea is that there's a giant weight that is about to fall - so the robot must protect itself and not stand under it. Though I'm open to suggestions on rebuilding it (I'm going to retweek the build and add a tunnel law 1 anyways). I actually considered that for the zeroth law! I tried it out and it didn't work very well - and was very out of proportion to the other Laws... Similarly I thought about using a big Ghost Busters NO type sign infront of each law... but yeah I concluded it'd be a bit lame too :P Bingo! First Robot is totally Robbie. (though it wasn't a train, but I thought train would make the Law easier to tell as he's putting him up on the platform). @P-M what other SciFi books did you read/like? I think a lot of SciFi has taken bits of these laws and used them - generally the 'don't harm Humans' one is pretty standard - but I'm not sure if SW robots really fit the bill. Especially when there are assassin droids which effectively break Law 1. Part of the interestingness of all the 'Robot' stories by Asimov is the iron clad rules - robot's CAN'T break them. And incidentally for anyone looking to read them - I loved those short stories because each one is about how robots are 'malfunctioning' but really just applying the 3 laws - to the letter.
  11. Nice looking car. Does it actually transform? Definitely digging the purple highlights. Do you have a reference shot of the original?

  13. I saw this on Flickr... and I have to say, well done. I love colour scheme and flow of the whole ship - as stated, you've used the sails quite nicely. The oars are just ... fantastic. I was flirted with trying to do something similar and thought it wasn't doable. So well done sir!
  14. But he fulfilled his number one priority! A lot of Sci-Fi robots don't follow these laws, such as Starwars. Off hand the only other robot outside of Asimov's world I can think of (that loosely follow these laws) are: the robot form Lost in Space, Robby the Robot, and Bishop and Ash from Alien(s). I'm sure there's more ... those are just the ones I can think of. I'm doing a Sci-Fi show later this month, and this was actually built as a companion / glorified MOC card for my Automated Automaton Machine and an excuse to suck up to the Sci-Fi Literati. Or did you mean how did I decide what to build in each individual law?
  15. WOW. That is awesome. Really well done! And quite impressive given the time you had to make it... Dumbledoor's podium is brilliant! Sucks to be RavenClaw ... they're always last ;)

    Hobbies

I'm Canadian. So I play hockey. I'm also a geek. So I pretend to be Batman, ....While playing hockey. I'm also a goalie, so I use anything to stop the puck, including my face. Sometimes, I even stop players.
  17. Thanks! I must admit I had a really hard time with the last one... I couldn't really think of a good way to depict the 3rd law in a static build. I have thought about doing the other laws... but it's even harder than the third! Though if you have ideas, I'm more than happy to try to build it
  18. The alien is CLEARLY hiding out in suburbia, hoping to blend in with those pesky humons. It would really cool is if inside the house would be all alien house, but the outside is normal. hehe
  19. Wow... I almost missed this... What a great collection of work! Wow. I'm not even sure where to start... favorites include: Tron inspired, LEM, Truth About them, Tripod, and Little house of horrors - this one in particular I thought was really well built. Though why the big break between April and Sept? Hopefully you'll share with us a bit more each month instead of one big post at the end of the year? :P
  20. The Three Laws of Robotics 1: A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm. 2: A robot must obey the orders given to it by human beings, except where such orders would conflict with the First Law. 3: A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Laws. Asimov's Three Laws of Robotics:
  21. :CHEER: Loads of fun :) Also the banner is fantastic :)
  22. Oh you can't change the title yourself - it is bestowed on you by the EB overlords. Congrats on finding it and getting an awesome CS tag and a title: "of your choice"! Well done!
  23. I think we might have a Winner! B_lll_> - did he find it? If so, you won a fancy Sci-Fi tag, and a Title of your choice!
  24. You can't have him. He's OURSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS............. (Sci-Fi) Not to mention he's an Admin.... I doubt he'd take that substantial pay cut down to a Mod.
