Dear Josh, thanks for your complements! You're too kind. And welcome to EB! kind regards, teddy Dear DJ Force, I'm planning to make a wooden interior support like is done in St George hall in Windsor castle. Of course more to the scale of this castle. The fourth corner tower on the back left might have some living quarters with wooden support as well. Kind regards, Teddy Dear Blueandwhite, thanks for the compliment! That means a lot coming from such a great builder! Your Brickmoor castle has been a source of inspiration which got me started on this castle. I really love how you made the interior and made the interior very accessible. Kind regards, Teddy

Dear Guss, I think you are right. Kind regards, Teddy

Dear Captain Cavinano, I like your design thus far. Do you have any comments on your design? Will there be several rows of rowers, or do you stick with one? What will you use as a sail, cloth or plate/brick build? Kind regard, Teddy

Dear Blueandwhite, Your comments got me thinking and I did a complete redesign. I also put in the arrow slits and colored bricks. The only part missing now is the interior. Kind regards, Teddy A redesign after usefull comments of blueandwhite: With a wall section: Other side With a wall section: Nice empty space for a throne room.

Dear cakeman and metalandi, thanks for your replies! I will think about the entry to the throne room when I build the second half of the keep. Now i have envisioned a kitchen at the bottom and the throne room above. the entry will be on the second half of the keep. Kins regards, Teddy Dear Blueandwhite, thank you for your eleborate reply! I will look into your ideas about the stone walls on top of the timber work. I'm not sure if I would want to replace the timber work with a wall or redo the roof. I'll have to think about it a bit. Kind regards, Teddy Dear all, Recently I've also made a wooden floor in the courtyard buildings. any feedback and comments are welcome! Kind regards, Teddy The courtyard buildings now have a wooden floor:

Dear Posades and blueandwhite, the water is indeed a blue wall of bricks turned sideways. Kind regards, Teddy -------------------------------------------------------------------- Dear all, I've started work on the first half of the "Keep" of the castle. I tried to maintain a coherent style with the other courtyard buildings. I still have to put in arrow slits colored plates and an interior. Any comments and feedback is highly appriciated. Kind regards, Teddy Here are pictures of the first part of the modular keep as a corner piece: With a wall section: Other side Nice empty space for a throne room.

EB Community Castle Build: Discussion Thread
Teddy replied to I Scream Clone's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
wow the community build is really comming alive! Its been a short while since I last checked the website. I haven't been logged in for a while because I've been on a short holliday and afterwards I have been ill for a week. Keep up the nice work! Kind regards, Teddy -
Dear Al Freddo and Matteo Kenobi, thanks for your kind words. I've lowered the forest path one plate below the surrounding grass. Personally, I think this gives it a more realistic feel. Any comments and feedback is welcome. Kind regards, Teddy

*Finished* - The Pillaging of Neptune's Noggin Lagoon
Teddy replied to SirNadroj's topic in Pirate MOCs
Dear SirNadroy, that is starting to look really impressive! Can't help but wonder what your plan is with the giant "mask" /" rock piece". As the port is concerned. I like what you've build so far. For the lighthouse, personally, I would suggest using dark red tiles instead of the current red one. They seem somewhat flashy, if you know what I mean. As for the small house, I would suggest some interlonking plates inbetween the jumpers. Now the wall seems to be seperate piles of plates, which looks a bit weird and feeble. But as i stated before I really like what you've done up untill now. Well just my two ducat. Kind regards, Teddy -
poor Bonerparty.... Captain green hair looks a lot faster, must be his new haircut.

Dear ImperialScouts, seems like a good idea! But why are the hands of your soldiers (the ones with shakos) up side down? Don't know how one could ever manage to handle a musket like that. Kind regards, Teddy

EB Community Castle Build: Discussion Thread
Teddy replied to I Scream Clone's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Dear all, on a different note. Close to the castles there usually were small villages who could trade with the soldiers and have relative protection due to the proximity of the castle. Currently, I've been thinking of making a small village on a 48x48 base plate. But something simular could be interesting for the community build as well. Don't know if there is any enthousiasm for this or if this might solve some of the problems of the large numbers of buildings inside the castle. Something completely different would be a woodcutters hut somewhere in the forrest surrounding the castle. Hmm, that would have no relation with the castle.. Maybe the woodcutters hut is not such a nice addition then. But a small village could be. Just my two cents. Kind regards, Teddy -
Dear Guss, thanks for the compliment! Poor soldier.... Hopefully he can find his way back to the castle. Dear Captain Zuloo, thanks for the idea! There are already some 60+ minifigs in there. But they are mainly inside the castle walls and towers. I could bring some of them outside the castle gate to do some outdoor actoivities. Maybe also something for the community castle build: I was thinking to attach a baseplate 48x48 with a small village to the road to the castle and maybe some small woodcutter hut on a 16x16 baseplate in the woods. I ran out of table space so I can only "expand" with seperate modules... I tried to convince my girlfriend to give up her desk space to me, but she hasn't caved in... yet. Well, I don't know yet. I think I'll concentrate on making the back of the castle first. Kind regards, Teddy

Dear all, I updated the scenery with some additional plant life. Since this is my first (although many times updated) scenery, any feedback is highly appriciated. Kind regards, Teddy

Dear Dr. X, the tutorial of Ralphs link isn't in German, it is in Dutch. Kind regards, Teddy

Dear all, after some considerations I redesigned the stern the beginning of Oktober. I tried to make the transition of "stud directions" as smooth as possible. Any feedback is appriciated. Kind regards, Teddy New stern:

Dear all, thanks for all the cool comments! I'm glad most of you like my gun design. Sure you can use it in your MOCs. That is the main reason for posting it. Kind regards, Teddy

Dutch VOC ship the Prins Willim, minifig scale!
Teddy replied to Captain Green Hair's topic in Pirate MOCs
Dear Captain green hair, as I said to you before the hull is starting to look really good! and the two plate step is obscured by the other lines. So thumbs up from me. Yeah the aft section.. 50 times, that is a good score... . I redid mine again as well two weeks ago. Havent posted an updated picture yet. Maybe I should Kind regards, Teddy -
Dear Captain Zuloo and DarthPineapple, thanks for the compliments on the MOC. This past weekend I've been redoing the complete scenery. I tried to save what I thought was good and redid what I did not like. Most stricking evidence of my overhaul ( ) is that I elavated the entire sceneray with at least one brick height. I could explain, but here are the pics. Kind regards, Teddy <Edit: I forgot to mention I put in additional dark bley plates in the walls>

Dear Captain Zuloo, I am a little bit amazed you think a ligitimate building technique with 1960's lego bricks is cheating? That the model team doesn't use them is strange to me. The new beatle would look so much better without the studs. But thats just my personall opinion. Kind regards, Teddy Dear castlestrike666, cant wait to see the result. I'm very curious how this effects the look of the roof. Kind regards, Teddy
-
Dear Capt. Kirk, thats looking like the facade of an impressive building! Are you planning to extend it to a complete building with back wall and interior? I really love how you did the roof! Good use of pieces and colors. Kind regards, Teddy
-
Dear Castlestike666, that is starting to look like an amazing MOC. I like the roof you've constucted on the tower. are you considering smoothing it up a bit by covering it with tiles? Personnaly, I'm not a big fan of studs on a roof like the new Taj Mahal. But thats just my personnal preference. So far, very good. Kind regards, Teddy
-
Dear Slyowl, that is just a stunning creation! I love the little details. I also like the small height differences you made on the "road". Looks like some plates are up half a plate height and others are on an angle. As said, I like the roof, but on the other hand it is disproportionally large. But i can understand you left it in to show this technique you invented. Overall I really like it. Kind regards, Teddy

Dear RebelRock, That's a very beautyfull castle. I like all the little details you put in. Especially the dock. Kind regards, Teddy
