Dear HMS243, the ship looks stunning thus far! The fun of the original guns is they can fire! But I agree, that custom made guns look better as you can change the size for each deck. Keep up the excellent work. Kind regards, Teddy

Dear ZCerberus, Most has been said already, but I just wanted to add that I really like those huge windows. Kind regards, Teddy

Hi CGH, that is a verry nice ship. I really love the swords on the side. I think it is the first time I see it on such a MOC. You can clearly see you were inspired by the original. The color scheme is verry nice. Although the overall ship is a bit shorter, I guess? Or it might be the angle of the original photo. Kind regards, Teddy

Dear lego12, the SES... That's a real classic. The washing of the bricks is a good idea. Recently, I collected my old lego (including a SES) from my grandmothers addic to put on display in my home. Most colored bricks were in good condition. I did however have some yellowed white pieces. I used a mild cleaner; oxy-action, to whiten them. It it took a couple of weeks and the color isn't as white as when the bricks were new, but close enough for my tatse. But to be sure not to ruin / brittle the bricks I added just a little oxy-action per litre water. This made the process take a long time, but the bricks are still perfect with good "clutching" power. So if you have some yellowed bricks I would suggest putting them in a bath for some time. If you want I can redo the process with some other yellowed bricks and post some photos. I did not test printed bricks as for feer of ruining the print. And I did not de-yellow other colors except white, as it might make them too light in color. Kind regards, Teddy

Dear Nathan, The landscaping is really impressive! The tiling of the snow is nicely done, with an occasional stud. I like the frozen river, and the use of blue transparent bricks under the ice. My girlfriend likes the Vikings in action. I like your cave a lot, I checked the other photos and the only nitpick in the cave is the spotless wall on the right side of the second photo you show in your first post. But ofcourse given the detailing in the rest of the MOC I guess it is intentional. The rest of the cave walls are really beautyfull. Kind regards, Teddy

EB Community Castle Build: Discussion Thread
Teddy replied to I Scream Clone's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Wow Thrash, the new layout is really great! It is turning more and more into a Community city build, where the Keep is the castle inside the city. I didn't check the progress for a while, but it is a pleasent surprise. Great stuff alround. Kind regards, Teddy -
Thanks Eilif, that was exactly the idea I had behind the solid facade. It saves tiles and plates and makes it slightly easier to get a nice facade. While maintaining the nice properties of separating entire floor sections. Kind regards, Teddy

Dear all, I was making photos of the courtyard buildings of my current Castle WIP. Since, some of the inspiration came from 10193 Medieval Market Village, I decided to photograph them together. Any comments are more than welcome. Kind regards, Teddy

Dear all, I made some photos of the courtyard building together with the Medieval Market Village. <edit: I put the photos in a separate topic here.> Kind regards, Teddy

Thanks KimT, I really like the Medieval Market Village as well. So this is a huge compliment for me. I will make some photos of them together with the MMV this afternoon. I was wondering if we could make something like a community city build or so. In addition to the community castle build. with a town layout, and a church, townhall and such. Just a thought. Kind regards, Teddy

Dear Sandy, those "sets" are really great! Verry smart to make all walls removable to allow easy access for photographs. Kind regards, Teddy
-
thanks KimT, you know I really like you're yellow castle. kind regards, Teddy Dear all, after starting on my Keep I read into the tudor style. Due to that small study I decided to redo the courtyard houses. here is the result. Any feedback is welcome. Kind regards, Teddy

Hi Posades , the white tree is ment to be a Birch tree wikipage. Those trees are quite common in this part of Europe. There bark of a birch tree is mainly white with black spots. A watchtower and a watercraft is a good idea. Kind regards, Teddy

those angles from below make it look extremely good. Overall a superb cration. The roof is just ingenious. Kind regards, Teddy

Dear Radegast, that is really a beautyfull castle! Have you made any updates on the enterior, such as the throne room, yet? Kind regards, Teddy
-
Yep, that is already happening with me. I must say I like the sets much better on the newer photos. I'm still not sure of buying them now. But, when I see them in the shop I will probably see usefull minifigs and parts. And will buy them anyway. Put them on my desk and start to like the set. Or use the parts in a MOC. Kind regards, Teddy P.s. as Sandy pointed out the king can easily be changed in a regular knight, it can already be done with the extra pieces of the impulse set "the knight".

Dear Darkie, the start is really promissing. I will check this topic regularly to see your progress. Kind regards, Teddy

Dear Mariann Asanuma, that is a nice MOC! I especially like the windows. During the building process, did you consider using another color such as, sand red, dark red or (b)rown for the walls? Or a combination of those colors and maybe some plates to represent the masonry? Kind regards, Teddy

Dear Zorbas, wout and Buttons, thanks for you kind replies! Personnaly, I think it could fit both in Amsterdam and New Amsterdam, uhh York. kind regards, Teddy

Dear 5150 Lego, thanks for your great review! Due to your review, I'm more positive about this set than I was before. I was planning to pass this one, but now I'm seriously thinking about buying one. It even inspired me to read some material about combine harvesters. Kind regards, Teddy

Dear Vincent, that is really a great MOC! I don't know anything about these anime/cartoons. But I think you really captured the essence of the ship. I agree with Slyowl that some more tiling on the studs and maybe some additional small greebles, like is on the bandai model, will make it look even better. Keep up the nice work! Kind regards, Teddy
-
Excellent job. Looks like you really thought everything through. The stickers you made are just fantastic and give that little extra, without being dominant. An excellent design overall, I really like thos 8 studs wide trains. kind regards, Teddy
-
Yes I agree too. I just looked at another topic showing pre production designs here. Some of them have been really cheapened up, for a few euros of bricks . Although i dont have the numbers, I feel some where cheapened up more (for what I value a set at), than what they saved in actual costs. So I would prefer a higher price point for a higher level of design. Kind regards, Teddy

yes she is! Sure looks funny. A red coat ship... That would be great. Kind regards, Teddy
