  1. The number of people online suggesting / fearing a Witch King vs Eowyn GWP is friggin hilarious You‘d think by now, people would know that GWP sets have an exclusive print or two at most, and now they‘re afraid of two entirely new pieces being included in a GWP with a lifespan of like a day They must think a new mould costs like 5 bucks
  2. Not only, of course. But with legs, he can ride Shadowfax, stand around (menacingly), and sit on the throne after usurping it from Aragorn. Ideally, they would've included both a printed skirt and printed legs, or a printed skirt and unprinted legs as a compromise. The solution we ended up with works too, but I agree that a skirt would certainly work better. Not a fan of using legs on minifigs that should have a skirt (looking a you, Bellatrix and Narcissa from the Malfoy Manor set!)
  3. Because the few sets that we do get are awesome? Last years' Arkham is in my top 3 DC sets ever released, and the 3 Batmobiles launching in March are among the best if not the best they've ever done. Yes, it's become a literal Batman theme by this point, but the sets are still well designed
  4. He needs to be able to ride Shadowfax You could argue they should've included both legs and a skirt, which is fair, but they're not gonna do that when both pieces would need printing. Then again, they did print that slope piece in the Rivendell set for the sitting version of Gandalf...
  5. Yeah, a shelf life of just two years for a D2C set is crazy!! That used to be the shelf life of regular sets! But with yearly D2C sets, it‘s not really that much of a surprise considering limited space on shelves and production capacity.
  6. The set has over 8k pieces allegedly, so if the previously rumoured $650 price is still valid, this would be a good deal! Kinda too good to be true. I smell a price correction coming
  7. You got really lucky then!! You probably weren‘t able to look at it long enough to make out any details, but can you describe what you saw, like scale-wise for instance? Edit: Found it!! Wow, that looks incredible!! They nailed it The combination of micro- and minifig scale works really well here and I like how they reuse those printed tile pieces from Castle Neuschwanstein. The only thing I dislike about it is Gandalf the White. The old piece was much better than using the same pieces as for Gandalf the Grey, just recoloured
  8. There are still sets we know must be coming that don’t have numbers yet (the Doomsday sets and the autumn D2C for SW), but another entire theme? That notion cannot entirely be ruled out, but it seems unlikely that yet another new theme is still hiding somewhere
  9. No, the upcoming D2C set is a Marvel one, allegedly a Helicarrier. With the recent update, I just checked the list of rumoured sets again and am actually not even sure there is still a DC set coming. There was a list of 4 sets a while back, with one of them said to be a DC one, but those 4 all seem to be for Marvel now
  10. Thanks for the clarification! Yeah, „Lollipop“ being KPDH is very likely. „P“ seems to be a videogame IP and the issue with „B“ is how early we‘ve known about those set numbers. While KPDH was an instant hit, I doubt Netflix and TLG signed a deal so quickly that they already had set ideas ready only two months later, set numbers and all That said, I kinda wish it was “B” instead since that theme has an 18+ set, meaning there’d be minifig potential. As is, KPDH will likely be a minidoll-only theme like Wednesday. Depending on what “B” actually is, I might eat those words tho
  11. People have suggested it to me before, and if I ever won the lottery, I‘d definitely open a museum Like the Museum of Bricks in Prague!
  12. Maybe that‘s too much of a technicality, but if the CMF series shares a license with one of the three themes, it would technically not be new anymore by the point it releases After all, „B“ is scheduled for June, „Lollipop“ for August, and „P“ for October, with the latter allegedly being based on a videogame. The timeframe would even be weirder, assuming it‘s actually a 2027 movie. So sets in the summer of 2026, a CMF series in September, and the movie some time next year, possibly with more sets? Not impossible, but the CMF series being unrelated sounds more plausible to me.
  13. Yes, if a company gives a license to another company, that means they control them You do realise that TLG also work very closely with WB, Netflix, and Universal, who are all Disney’s competitors? You might as well argue that WB control TLG (DC instead of a generic Superhero theme, LotR instead of Castle, Harry Potter instead of generic wizardry, Dune instead of an obscure scifi license), that Universal does (Jurassic World vs generic dino theme), or that Netflix is in charge (One Piece instead of generic pirates, Stranger Things and Wednesday instead of a generic spooky theme). Speed Champions is a funny example too considering none of the other licensed cars so far are based on a Disney IP (F&F, F1 the Movie, BTTF, 007 are either owned by Universal, WB, or MGM). Nintendo also have multiple license agreements with TLG, so I guess they control them too Dayum, TLG must be tearing at the seams, being controlled by all these companies! Seriously though: TLG are only controlled by themselves, not even shareholders since they‘re family-owned. They pick and choose who they collaborate with. There is no Didney conspiracy going on, they‘ve been successfully collaborating for literal decades at this point.
  14. …how did we go from a new Zelda set to fast food conspiracies?
  15. Not accurate enough. They’d have to randomly insert a pink 1x1 plate into a single copy of the set
  16. Only one set this summer is said to be a DC one, but we don’t know which one. But yeah, most likely another Batmobile
  17. You’re welcome Oh shoot, I knew I had forgotten something!!
  18. All of them. Well, minus the LEGO store build-and-take sets (which I never count anyway) and the SDCC stuff that luckily didn't have anything exclusive about it in this case, besides the packaging
  19. Not sure if that would count Same IP, sure, but not really a return of the theme as such
  20. We're about to get a $650 Pokémon set, so this isn't outrageous for a gaming IP Besides, we had other video game one-offs with a higher price tag, like the Atari 2600 or the Pac-Man arcade machine. I'm more curious what IP it could be! Hopefully another Nintendo one!
  21. If Stonewars' list is correct, this theme will be based on a video game IP with a release date of October, so this one at least is unrelated to the CMF series. Your general point still stands though (apart form the weird "potential 2027 movie" thing that still perplexes me).
  22. Been doing some digging, and 72306 (theme 'P') has flown under the radar since Stonewars had it listed as a set for a while now! The only details they provide is that it belongs to "Games" and is released in October. Could be an assumption on their end based on the number range, but we'll see. If it 's indeed based on a game, it has to be a new theme!
  23. The tuxedo cat gets a companion in the form of 21376 Orange Cat! It's not a mere colour swap since it has a few more pieces! Kinda strange to see a follow-up to an Ideas set that is still part of the Ideas theme seemingly, unlike the FRIENDS apartments.
  24. 'B' is scheduled for June, 'Lollipop' for August, and 'P' is still unknown. They're all licensed. They wouldn't introduce a new in-house theme with so few sets, now would they
  25. A Doomsday set in June already?! Weird, but I’ll take it
