  1. LEGO have officially revealed a teaser video, showing (the upper half of) the Chopper minifig! Love it!
  2. If even a flipping Ninjago movie underperformed, what chance would movies based on themes from the late 90s/early 2000s stand?
  3. Yeah, I was wrong, but it still took em 7 years
  4. I‘m not one to scoff at new dual-moulded pieces, but the budget can indeed have been spent better In general, this could be a pretty loaded wave in terms of new pieces. The two minifigs confirmed so far both require a new piece each (Dr Hiriluk’s hairdo and Chopper’s head), and some of the unconfirmed but likely to appear characters too, particularly Wapol, Mr 3, Alvida, and Miss All Sunday. The Straw Hats don‘t need new pieces this season as Usopp‘s goggles can be realised as a print on last year‘s bandana piece. Smoker, Tashigi, Miss Valentine, Mr 5, and Dalton could also all be done without new pieces. Other characters I‘m 50:50 on. Miss Wednesday would benefit from a new hairpiece, but they may just as well repurpose an existing ponytail piece. Mr 9, unlikely as he sadly is to appear, may reuse the existing crown/hair combo piece, despite the hairstyle not matching. Where are the factory leaks when you need them?!
  5. Sure, Mihawk and Zeff will stay exclusive to that one (the former for a looooong time and the latter forever), but I still can‘t imagine them robbing the Baratie of 3 exclusives in one fell swoop. Koby and Helmeppo didn‘t get to do much this season, unlike other characters I‘d rather like to see in that set Possible, but people also expected S2 to drop last year already for the longest time. One year of post-production isn‘t unrealistic, but I don‘t want them to rush either. Having a CGI character as a permanent member of the main cast will take more time I imagine ^^
  6. @Scarilian: I didn‘t count Super Sonic / Shadow since they‘re variants Also, if Sonic 3 already didn‘t have an impact on sets, why would the fourth movie?
  7. I didn‘t say every single member since some clearly had more screentime and importance than others I mean, they even included Mr. and Miss who I never would‘ve expected to show up at all, and those appearances were just too short-lived. Design-wise, I‘d love to have them too, but they‘re more like extended cameos If this was like HP, we‘d definitely see them in minifig form at some point!
  8. Your definition of a playset is very arbitrary then, if even $100 sets don‘t count anymore Price aside, not counting the Drum Island set as a playset makes no sense to me, considering it‘s the climax of the arc, should contain one of the main villains of the season (and hopefully Chopper‘s humanoid form too), and surely has a play feature or two. There‘s no way this set won‘t target kids. The set has to have a feature to I don‘t know how seasoned OP fans view the Baroque Works characters in comparison to other villain groups, but as a fan of the LA show, I think they are all very memorable and instantly recognisable by their silhouettes alone, as seen on one of the posters. I‘m sure a lot of fans would love to see them in minifig form as much as I do, and TLG must be aware of the collectability Personally, I‘m a huge fan of villain groups with common themes in general, like the Inquisitorius in Star Wars, who funnily enough also use numbers for codenames. I was in the middle of watching S2 when the set news hit and was thus disappointed at first, but my sentiment has shifted. Now I‘m really glad Dr Hiriluk gets a minifig since he was a standout among a season of standouts (and I’m not alone in that, considering S2E7 by far having the highest IMDB rating of all 16 episodes). Kinda funny that the smallest set of each wave is based on a flashback scene depicting a vital moment in a main character‘s backstory
  9. Mainly? We have 1 buildable figure, 1 buildable object, 1 large playset, and 4 regular playsets, so the majority are still playsets any way you slice it
  10. Was Bogard even seen in S2? I have a feeling @Scarilian is right and they might throw a Baroque Works member or two in that set. Robbing the Baratie of three of its exclusive minifigs would be a strange move, especially since Koby & Helmeppo have limited screentime in S2. Fingers crossed! They‘ve skipped enough stuff in both seasons to warrant a 2027 wave before S3 hits in 2028.
  11. I wouldn‘t get my hopes up since Sony didn‘t have many in-house games at the time. Most PSone-era classics are third party, with some of them having switched ownership multiple times since (like poor Spyro and Crash) It‘s not impossible to get Konami, Square, Capcom or others on board, but I‘m not counting on that ^^
  12. The only characters that are next to impossible based on the list are Igaram, Miss Monday, Krokus, and Laboon, which is annoying, but we also didn‘t get characters like Kuro, Merry, or Kuroobi in the S1 sets, so I‘m not too surprised by some omissions Hopefully they‘ll include Baroque Works business cards in the sets like last year‘s wanted posters! Then again, with how little focus the organisation is getting judging by the set list, probably not
  13. @Scarilian: That would be a fantastic line-up, but I doubt we‘ll be that lucky! The Chopper & Hiriluk set has to be the lab. Not sure how Brickmerge (or their source) managed to turn „hideout“ into „wipeout“ however As for Whisky Peak, that may be the fault of the subject matter. A set with „whiskey“ in the name is not a good idea and the main setting is a saloon, after all, and the peaks themselves are a . The only LEGO-friendly aspect of the arc is probably the ice cream kart, but that‘s too small to be a set on its own.
  14. Since we now have set names, I'll update my minifig predictions: Chopper & Hiriluk set: just the two of them Loguetown set: Luffy, Smoker, Buggy, Alvida Little Garden: Luffy, Zoro, Nami, Usopp, Mr. 3 (definitely not Sanji) Drum Island: Luffy, Vivi, Sanji, Wapol, Chopper, Dalton, Kureha Marine Ship: Garp (if it's still his ship that is, since he wasn't actually in Loguetown), Smoker, Tashigi, Miss All Sunday, random Marines Also, I just finished S2 and loved it! It's even better than S1, and I can't wait for the next one!
  15. We have the full set list now, thanks to Brickmerge: 75641 Chopper & Dr Hiriluk Wipeout 75642 Loguetown Marine Chase 75643 Chopper 76544 Little Garden Duel 76545 Castle on Drum Island 76546 Loguetown Marine Battleship 75647 Gum Gum Fruit No Whiskey Peak or Reverse Mountain set is a pretty big bummer, as that means no Igaram or Mr 9, and with 76544 being the only set where Baroque Works agents could show up, it‘s unlikely we get more than two of them in total. Maybe Mr 3 will even be the only one Or worse, none, if they only focus on the giants. Did we really need two Loguetown and three Drum Island sets?
  16. And the news just keep coming! The other Mario set this year is an arcade cabinet, according to the 🐐
  17. Stonewars were right, Codename P is gaming-themed, and it‘s a buildable Playstation One!! Awesome! The set is said to include the console and a controller
  18. I get your point, but this is in addition to the other 6 sets we‘re getting and it being based on S1 is the reason it was already revealed 5 months in advance Loguetown and Whiskey Peak are bound to be featured in the still unknown sets!
  19. And the teaser is out! HOLY **** IT‘S REAL Someone call @just2good!! She‘s gonna have a field day with this!
  20. THIS IS NOT A DRILL, MARIO MINIFIGS ARE RUMOURED FOR NEXT YEAR LET‘S GOOOOOOO Also, the Luigi Kart was revealed! Looks great!
  21. We‘re getting another set, namely 75647 Gum-Gum Fruit! We even have pictures! Impressively, young Luffy gets two new face prints! Edit: It can be pre-ordered on s@h!
  22. I know Space got its own series, but I’m not sure how well that would work for Pirates without feeling repetitive. Sure, you could cook up a cohesive list of 12 pirate characters (say, Captain, first mate, random pegleg pirate, privateer, sea monster, mermaid etc), but how unique would each of them be? I’d say the Space-themed series worked not despite of but due to its lack of cohesion. Every minifig was completely different, covering many tropes and eras from realistic astronauts to crazy aliens, futuristic suits, and constellations even! Maybe they could come up with something, but Pirates does feel pretty limited in its possibilities compared to Space. Castle would have a larger chance, but only if they embrace the fantasy side of things
  23. I hope so, for selfish reasons I know I’m in the minority here, but I much prefer the original show over DBZ or any of the follow-ups
  24. I would definitely prefer game-based characters. To be frank, as a kid I always disliked Ash for being such a doofus who couldn’t remember even the most obvious of type advantages, among other things I don’t really care which Gen the minifigs are based on, but protagonist, rival, and professor sounds like a good selection to me, no matter which Gen! Speaking of minifigs, I’ve doubted they’ll go all out on minifigs ever since the theme was announced because almost every character, be they protagonists, rivals, professors, gym leaders, elite four, or villains would require a new hairpiece each, with all the crazy anime hair going on So the approach of only offering the occasional minifig set (maybe one each year?) makes perfect sense to me.
  25. 72154 is rumoured to be a buildable Pokéball with a scene inside of it, and it allegedly comes with minifigs! Rumour has it it’s the only Pokémon set this year with minifigs.
