  1. So, the wording was just pure corporate BS after all. Well okay, after reading that blog post, my hopes have been completely and 100% dashed. Serves me right for getting my hopes up, against my better judgment Now I feel dumb. So yeah, I retract anything positive I recently said in this thread. I’m switching sides again, I’m a triple agent!! Not trying to be hyperbolic, but despite how good the three sets are, this is by far the absolute worst revival of any theme ever. I can’t think of any other license that has ever been treated as poorly as this. Even one-off random stuff like Trolls, Minions, Angry Birds, Prince of Persia etc has been treated way better with a lot more sets, minifigs, and new parts! For instance, the only new piece we have here is Indy’s hat. Not even a new pith helmet for Belloq or a more accurate hat for Sr. Just cheap. I can’t believe I’ve been looking forward to this revival for so long and this is all we’re getting. My hype for the movie has effectively been killed too, because all I can think of now is how much they messed this up. Maybe it’s for the better. I heavily dislike a majority of timetravel stories anyway
  2. Not sure what’s going on with that set.
  3. They mentioned The Rings of Power in the LOTR section on s@h even though they don’t even have the license for that show. Alluding to the newest instalment in a franchise they do have an active license for should thus be fair game
  4. Makes sense! The plastic probably needs a certain thickness in order not to snap. Good thing they went for dual-moulding rather than printing. That would never have worked
  5. Fair enough. But there’s a big difference between making mistakes here and there and bringing back a theme in time for a new movie, and then completely ignoring that movie’s existence
  6. It’s the first new part DC has gotten since the WW84 set, so I’m not complaining Also, I’m so sick and tired of the old two cowls that I welcome any change with open arms, bulky is that piece may be
  7. Also, another point: Either this wave is meant to tie in with DoD, or it’s not. If it is, why release them without any sort of acknowledgement of the new movie? They could’ve said something like “celebrate the return of Indy to the big screen with these three sets based on (two of) the classic films!” Instead, they act as if DoD didn’t exist. And if it’s not, why even delay the three sets in the first place? 2022 made as much sense for random non-DoD Indy sets as 2023 does. They could’ve avoided a lot of questions too, since now, they’re only gonna annoy people looking for DoD sets after seeing the movie and not finding any. If there are no DoD sets, that is. After more than 20 years of licensed LEGO sets, people are simply used to new movies getting tie-in sets FB:SoD is the only exception I can think of, but that can be ignored as very few people cared about those movies, let alone the sets
  8. Granted, they did say that in regards to the set numbers. However, they also clearly stated that we would get 8 sets, no “probably” about that
  9. While I may give them too much credit, you’re not giving them enough I’m sure there’s a perfectly reasonable explanation for all of this. We just need to wait to find out what it is. Also, the more I think about it, the less sense a complete cancellation of the DoD sets makes. Let’s assume that these three sets are actually all there is this year. Why did they keep the April release date then? Wouldn’t it make more sense to release them to coincide with DoD’s theatrical release to ride the hype wave? Sure, they’re based on two other movies, but it would still make more sense The only real reason to keep the wave in April is to have some distance to another wave. Sure, production capacities are a thing, but postponing sets doesn’t seem to be much of an issue. Also, DoD is notably absent, no mention of it, neither in the descriptions, nor on social media. Even the instruction booklet of 77015 doesn’t refer to it by name. This is curious, as they now don’t have any way to tie these sets in with the movie marketing. Unless more is coming, that is. Furthermore, recent movies (Avatar TWoW) and shows (Mando S3) got LEGOfied posters shortly before the respective reveals. Why not recreate the DoD teaser poster to hype up the “only”sets if those actually were the only ones? I realise that none of this is conclusive evidence, but I don’t think it’s unreasonable to still hope for a DoD wave in July or so. Actually, I’m willing to take on a bet (and no, it doesn’t include the removal of any extremities @THELEGOBATMAN) I bet there will be another wave of Indy sets this year. If I lose, those willing to join the bet can pick a new avatar for me. Only conditions are that it should still include a SpongeBob minifig and brick-built elements (and please, nothing offensive, I don’t wanna get whacked by the banhammer )
  10. Include a printed windscreen. No further comments
  11. I do see the resemblance. There are no TAS sets rumoured for this year though Then again, they might be planning ahead for that Gotham skyline set from the survey leak
  12. Well, we got what we asked for! If you don’t like the new cowl, there’s no shortage of the old ones
  13. Yes. Along with descriptions for 77012-15, they reported the numbers 77016-19 Sure, no update since, but this has me confident that something is coming. Maybe they‘re all exclusives, or the retailers will not be able to order them until later, or some other weird thing is happening. But I refuse to believe that an entire wave of sets has been scrapped, and based on a new movie to boot! That‘d be the stupidest decision in the history of the company by a wide margin. It would make the whole Galidor fiasco look smart in comparison!
  14. Promobricks reported the set numbers last year. So they did exist at some point!
  15. Well, there was that post on the Hungarian FB page, but not much beyond that. Unless you count LAN reviews, that’s a form of announcement too, in a way Too late for pre-orders anyway. We shall see what happens to this theme. The vague wording of the official statement is what makes me hopeful. Why use the terms „consolidation“ and „launch“ if this wave was all they had planned? And why not just straight up say that 77014 was cancelled, like they did with the Osprey or the dynamite factory? In fact, 77014 wasn‘t even mentioned in that statement! I think they‘re being vague here on purpose. So unless they come out and confirm that nothing else gets released, I won‘t accept these cancellation reports as fact.
  16. I don‘t care if it‘s oversized. We finally get a new Batcowl!! Good riddance, head band
  17. While it is certainly strange, the sets being cancelled is not the only possible explanation
  18. I hope so too! Not releasing any sets based on DoD around its release would be the single most boneheaded thing they‘ve EVER done I know everything is pointing towards these three sets being all there is to Indy this year, but I decided to refuse to believe they bungled it this badly until we have actual proof. So yeah, I‘m pulling a Mac here and switch sides! Friendship with team CANCELLED is over!! Team DELAY is my best friend now
  19. Releasing the first sets based on a new movie 6+ months after its release is also an extremely odd move Why would they ever do that? What reason could they possibly have?
  20. 77014 has been removed from all the descriptions now. Which again doesn‘t mean much of anything, because advertising a delayed set is practically just as silly as advertising a cancelled one 77014 and 77016-77019 have effectively been turned into Schroedinger‘s LEGO sets. Do they exist or not?! Anyway, looking forward to getting the other sets on April 1st! Gonna be my very first day 1 purchase in a LEGO store Unless the online shop I sometimes order from gets them first, but I think they‘re timed exclusives in Switzerland too. Nobody aside from Smyths and TLG themselves seem to sell them starting April 1st
  21. Is that a new hairpiece on Bo-katan?!
  22. The coolest minifig to include in our last Mando set this year would obviously be a character who‘s rumoured to appear this season, so click on your own risk: That or the new Mando character rumoured to be portrayed by Since I don‘t expect either of these, it‘s probably either Din and Grogu or nameless Mandos & Imperials At least we know what to look forward to come 2024
  23. Technically, if he was included, this would mark the first appearance of this new version of Din since the other two sets are scheduled for August, while the dogfight set is released in May No idea who else could be included because we don’t know the context of that scene. More Mandos I suppose
  24. I’m sure it’s gonna look cool, but I don’t have high hopes in terms of minifigs. Probably just the leaked Mandalorian, Din, Grogu, and a TIE Fighter pilot. We’ll have to wait until 2024 for the more interesting characters
  25. Wonder what happened to those “super leaks” on Sunday Hope we’ll learn soon what those were supposed to be!
