  1. Nice vignette and nice cart. I like how you only gave a hint of the cobblestone
  2. haha really nice idea and cool, short story behind it. Lovely buildings all around, maybe a bit tii many 1x1 rounds, but I still enjoy the texture and I appreciate that it is consistent throughout all of the buildings. The whole scene is really lively and that's a whole bunch of nice figs! 'The location was carefully chosen because of the nearby di Carlo olive seller.' <--- this cracked me up
  3. Once again I love the lore you manage to pack your builds with, yet this time around the highlights is the build itself, a beautiful 360^ ! Lovely palette and architecture all around (awesome offset windows with the arch at the back as well as the gable with the lion head) and loads of nice details without being overwhelming. Insteresting roofs too - I believe this is the first time you've tilted them 'inwards', right? They look really cool, I need to try that out myself. I'm also really intrigued by the story, can't wait to know what's going on in Barqa!
  4. haha Awesome stuff! Totally in love with the lore you've created for these guys! Awesome trees too, really appropriate for the context and I believe it's the best composition using those 'new' tree pieces I've seen so far
  5. Uhm yes, noone else mentioned it.. I could try and find some sort of compromise... Or you could figure out to read manga backwards! Thank you, dG! Good to hear you like that blue, I do intend to keep on using it
  6. Man! I think for you first attempt at a night shot you did very well! How did you lighten up the fire? I really like how the background has two colours - not sure if it was your intention or it simply happened, but I think it really makes the atmosphere and it's really believable for a night immediately after sunset, when it isn't all really dark yet
  7. Really nice. Definitely a mid-spring festival I'd like to take part in! I like the variety of the entertainment as well as the figs and the little stalls. The pork cooking is a nice touch Well done!
  8. I second the others' comments about the tower being connected that way, though I do like how the whole thing looks together. I also like how you managed to represent the chaotic situation, following the story. The latter being the highlight here, imo - I love how you managed to give credit to both, the Queen's followers and non. It also makes me wanna know what happens next.
  9. haha this couldn't be more intriguing, I swear! Don't forget to let us know what happens next!
  10. I'm glad you managed to put something together, I really appreciate sometimes it isn't as easy as we'd like.. It's a nice vignette, I like the sledge and the way it attaches to the cow (ox, in this case, I guess..). I reckon the black base is a bit too big though, if compared to the rest of the building - I think you can just make it a couple of bricks smaller. Let us see what else happens in that Mitgardian village!
  11. Very nice. I like the dwarven style all around - simple, neat, effective. Nice touch with the brewing pots and tools. Keep it coming!
  12. hehe thank you, SK
  13. @derEselausErgste welcome to the best Guild! nice sigfig and nice intro, can't wait for more @Servertijd Jesse! It's so nice to see you around here! Starting off with a cool sigfig, a nice build and everything.. And you even picked the right Guild! I'm glad ^^
  14. haha so many entries on the last couple of days available! what a nice surrpise! well done everyone!
  15. What a nice way to start your story, your settlement and to take part in the challenge all at once! I like the tree on the right hand side and there are some neat details, like the tables and the cart. One thing that bothers me a bit is those brown tiles to mark the border, also because they top both tan and black, making it unclear - I'd suggest that you use only black for the border, or one other colour, possibly one that isn't in the rest of the build (tan and brown, in this case, won't do, imo). You have really nice figs there, the story is well written and promising enough. So, good job! Keep it coming!
  16. Thank you, McC! ^^ Oh I remember you said that before (about the centered position) I do find it cool though - but what do you mean exactly? I can read/see everything properly from both phone and laptop, what is it that bothers you exactly?
  17. haha really nice! Italian is my mother tongue, so as soon as I read the title, I went like 'oh man, did he actually mean...?' Yes, that's what you meant! Love the idea and the execution. I think the street might do with some little variation, though it makes sense for it to be kept well - they don't have to be big, maybe just a cracked tile (stone) here and there (a 1x1 round to represent it?). I see what you mean about the sandy court, though if you'd had tiles there too, it would've been too many of them, imo; I reckon it's fine as it is. Really nice small houses in the background and awesome figs (the dwarf goalie cracks me up ).
  18. Go go go @Grover! Let us rebuild Avalonia while the peace lasts! Long may the Dragons fly!
  19. Right. I never meant for it to have a 'DC feel', but you're right: I went and checked and he also built some stuff in blue. Guess I'll have to keep that in mind... Thanks Grover, I'm glad you mentioned the key and the saw denoting the shops! And yes, the dark green on the roof is meant to be moss. Hahaha! Well I've just turned 33, so almost no difference. I do live alone though and my family is far enough for such purpose, sadly Thanks for the new tips on the camera, I'll look into it at some point, hopefully soon Thanks Adde! I'm hoping to improve my photography even more - fingers crossed! ^^
  20. Uhm, no, I actually meant that kind of curtain behind Steffen. So, the 'bottom end of the marquee', that's how I thought of it Dark brown and dark red? I can't tell which part those are.
  21. haha good point you're making here! Lovely little build, once again. Nice angle between buildings and base (oh and which blue is that on the wall? The regular one?), can't see much of the cobblestone, but that little bit looks nice (maybe more tan/sand for Khadira? In the corner between terrain and buildings, for example). I really like the simple yet effective details like the lantern, the flags line, the plants and the 'modesty screen' - I never manage to fit so many details in such little space without having it look crowded, you know how to do it, instead! The second to last bit of writing is cut: 'He will also... ' ?
  22. Nice work here, Grover! I like how you're starting up with your city, I'll hopefully be soon in the same situation! So, one question first: where is Prenmor located exactly (on the Avalonian map?). As for you uncertainty about the grass colours, that's something I'm still working on myself, but for the moment I think as long as you don't go for more than 3 shades you should be fine (always if they're not too mixed up and you have to consider the colour of the grass too, like in this case). I also found sand green to work well with pretty much every other shade, which is a plus, and its price for the 1x2 plate is now much lower than it used to be (thanks to PaB, I think). So, in this case in particular, you could've added more olive green and left the bright one for the stems = 3 shades total. I normally use dark green only in forest setting; I wanna explore bright green more, though. Hope this helps As for the quarry itself, I appreciate how you depicted it at its beginning - I think you realised the first 'layer' pretty well I really like how you researched the whole thing, as I tend to do the same and wondered if I was overdoing it or something...
  23. Really nice! The terrain could do with a little more variation, but that cart design compensate well, imo! Nice short story too, keep it coming!
  24. Really nice entry! Love the use of the masonry-profile bricks as base, lovely build overall with an enjoyable short-sized story as backup Oh and the fact that you don't always push the bricks down completely - I wouldn't probably appreciate it anywhere else, but it's a really nice choice for the wooden part! It makes sense as wood isn't always straight, I might even cop... er... borrow the idea!
  25. hehe really nice! I guess you could've built the road of a colour/texture different from the one(s) of the immediate surrounding of the tracks (kind of road - pavement difference, in contemporary terms), but it's just a small details. Lovely details all around and perfectly recognisable Mophet-style, which is a plus. Love the activity as well as the short story, with which you managed to turn the topic into something original for your city
