I feel like the terrain in the 2nd build is still a bit too messy - too many colours and shapes in such small space makes it too crowded for my eye. The 1st one instead is neater and enjoyable. The highlight for me is the story - at every episode I sympathise with the brigade a little more

Nice entry! I haven't learnt how to make those crazy angles yet, so I'm impressed every time. I particularly enjoy seeing roofs of different colours in the same (small!) build, I'd have never thought they could work that well 'my favorite spot of texture is hidden behind the guy sitting down' <--- this cracked me up

I wanted to ask that too. Of course I'm a kind of outsider here, yet I really enjoy following all of the Varlyrian stuff (though I still haven't learnt how to spell the name 'Varlyrio' and need to check every time... ).

It does. A couple of questions more: can one vote for himself? How long time will the 2 finalists have to complete the new build? And just to chime in about what @Grover says, I do feel like HQ has been fair, plus there are no points/prizes at stake, plus the Guild leader is also part of the Guild (a big part) - it'd be sad if (s)he didn't take part, imo. If it's true that they can have an advantage, well.. they earned it This reminds me of a general question I wanted to ask though: I didn't see Guild leaders participating in the last challenge (apart from setting it up, obviously), but could they have done so, had they wanted to?

Really nice. I love the ornated base as well as the little spring. I think a plant with flowers of four different colours is a bit too much, but hey, it's the joy of fantasy after all! Nice story too, it makes it very legitimate for your claimant to be the successor

wow lovely vignette with very nice details. The colours and the base also very appropriate for the represented scene. I also love the lighting (pity that the wall doesn't continue a little longer on the left, it might've covered the light coming in from there and which in turn could've came in from the window only). And whoa, Lord deGothia himself claiming the throne? My claimant is gonna have a hard time then!

In case you didn't, half-dwarf was used as an insult by some 'pure race' supporters, you see Thanks guys, I'm glad you liked it - can I count on your support then? hehe Lord @Gideon of Barqa is also the most famous, probably the wealthiest (and also oldest? ) half-elf in the whole of Historica, indeed. In fact, my elfin claimant is hoping to receive his support somehow, even though from outside Avalonia. He can organise some lobbies or something, I'm sure And hey, you have a point about the heraldry, I didn't think about it I was just glad to have found a nice torso and chose everything else around it.. Oh well, I guess it can be changed, in case of victory The roof is kind of tricky, yes; I reckon if I make it bigger it might work better, at least for the lower sections, yet the top is probbaly gonna have to be the same. As for that backstory, who knows? Thanks dG! And yes, I thought of Asterix and Obelix too (plus with a shield it was easier to have them carried by the crowd.. ) Thanks Grover, really glad you like it, so that Lady Gwenllian might support the cause, right?

Please approach! Your favourite troubadour's daily story is about to begin! This evening, my Ladies, my Lords, we have a special one! I will tell you the story of a clan of half-elves! Aren't you curious? Please approach, my dear guests and take your seat! The story is about to begin... In the heart of Avalonia, in the fertile plains covered with lush forests, where scents of flowers fill up the nostrils while the fresh morning breeze competes with the warmth of the early sunbeams teasing the skin, lived once a clan of half-elves. Yes, you've heard it well, my Ladies, my Lords: a clan of half-elves! Unlike the majority of their kin – usually loners, indeed – this particular group was one of a kind! ... The history of the clan goes back for generations and fades into myth... The narration of the forefather's deeds... How did he meet his wife? How did they start the family? And where does that filosophy come from, my Ladies? They refused the idea of 'not-being-human-while-also-not-being-elves', my Lords! Yes! They made a point of having taken the best traits from both! I had this idea of 'half-elven' architecture and wanted to try it out. That bloody rounded roof with tiles requires a lot of attention, but I do like the look. This is the first time I go for a vignette - trying to get as much information as possible in a limited space was a nice challenge. I also wasn't too sure how to alternate it to the story, being only one pic. As for the story itself, I guess it might be a bit confusing not seeing any minstrel in the pic? I wanted to try that format though, just to add variety. I actually wanted the whole thing to rhyme and to have the same amount of syllables for every sentence (like the last part), but realised quickly that was a bit too much for my skills, so I left it kind of half-and-half C&C most welcome as usual, thanks for reading! A photography note @Basiliscus P.S. Not sure why, but I have my comments aligned right (in the preview as well), yet when I post/edit they get moved to the centre like the rest of the post. If anyone has an idea why and/or how to avoid this, it'd be cool

hahaha! well he was probably referring to English grammar, which is indeed the easiest to learn in the EU. On the contrary, English vocabulary is one of the richest in the world. But anyways... I'm a non-native speaker, yet I taught English professionally in the past - let me know if I can help in any way

haha well my excuse, actually a reason, is that the build is ready but I'm missing a small piece for a roof which is in a BL order which I placed 12 days ago and isn't here yet! So, I'll give it a couple of more days, else I'll have to take a pic and then somehow crop it to enter it on time... I should be able to make it.

... and a nice epilogue! It's nice to know how Conrad ended up back in Deep Gardens (and nice name choice + explanation for the city). Oh and there's one more thing: still a bit too many commas, but I feel like your stories flow better now. Not sure if you've made a progress there, or if it's me getting used to the way you used them No, seriously: I've been looking at them a little better and sometimes it looks as if you were using a German structure. Unfortunately, I don't know much about Hungarian, so I cannot tell you much more [I'm a language teacher and German is my 5th, so all this is kind of second nature for me and really cannot help it... I just find it interesting]. Whatever the case, I enjoyed reading your story more than in the past, which is the important thing, right? Looking foward for more!

Lovely depiction of elemental monsters - the golem is gorgeous! I think the terrain and the rockwork in the last build are a bit messy, maybe too many colours? Other than that, I've enjoyed reading up the story, which undoubtedly adds to the depth of your character --> in all honesrty, I'm relieved to know Conrad isn't such a bad guy after all! I think Laesonar might even like him...

I'm unsure about the completely tiled floor in different colours and I don't totally get wht the skeleton is doing there, yet I love the statue with the scale in its hand. Though my fav must be the sergeant lol Oh and that 'looking envious, take him an eye' thing at the end is a very unexpected twist! Nice entry overall, well done!

Really nice! I love how the rounded part of the pillar fits on the squared one, well done. The rest of the build is pretty simple, yet very appropriate for the story, which gives it meaning and brings it to life One question: I believe this is a sequel to something, am I wrong? If so, it'd be cool having a link to the previous 'episode'; if not, it'd be cool to have some sort of introduction, just to set the scene. In this way people (well.. me, at least ) could follow along your story a bit better

Nice job, McC. Yes it's small and yes a bit plain, but I think it serves the purpose very well, moving the story forwards (and you won't have to explain how they met the mushroom fella in another episode!). I wish I could stick to small builds like this for my episodes too! Looking forward to see where Fel and the others end up

I actually meant this one, which turns out to be for the whole of GoH, not only Avalonia. It's the MoC index for Book I (I think) by RA. But yes, I had also seen those 2 you linked, though I had forgotten - how have you found them back? The one I meant is pinned to the LEGO historic themes forum. I guess someone with the rights could add to the pinned post we have? And welcome @BardDandelion! Looking forward to see your sig-fig and MoCs!
