Awesome! can't wait to see it :D

Thanks! The ankles are sturdy enough, they can take the weight of the walker without too much trouble, but if they're moved around too much the joints do work loose. So I find I have to squeeze the parts back together from time to time. Your version looks great! I had wondered about making a dropship to go with mine but never got around to it!

Thanks! Thanks! Yeah other people have said the same about the legs, definitely something I'll change if I ever revisit this. Thanks so much! And I agree with you about the legs, a little T-rex arms-ish as someone of Flickr said!

I had built this solely for use in one of my Ring-worlds (Link to that topic blow) But I felt it was a build in its own right too so I decided to create a separate thread (hope that's okay?) Anyway, this was a fairly quick build because it was one of those rear moments where everything just.. fits you know? The only part I really had trouble with was connecting the two half's together.. And then of course remembering what I'd done in order to make a second one! Let me know what you think and any suggested improvements are especially welcome! AT-TE / Teaser by Inthert, on Flickr And now, as promised, the link to my Ring-worlds project:

Apologies for not responding to all your feedback, It is much appreciated I assure you! Well here it is, the next instalment in the series: A Deadly Ascent on Teth. This build cheats slightly (okay not slightly, completely) in that its built on the flat and the picture is just rotated to create the illusion of a cliff face. I know, I know shame on me for taking the easy way out but in my mind the amount of time it would've taken to make it stand could have been put towards another build entirely. That said I'm still very happy with how the end result looks, especially the trees which were an after thought believe it or not! But enough talk and onto the image! Thanks so much! Ooh, that's a good idea, certainly fitting with the circular theme, although it would entail making a Slave 1 too.. Still, an idea to keep in mind and I'm glad to know you like the project :D Thanks!

I thought I'd build up a few models in the series before sharing it on here, but with four instalments so far, I felt it was time. This is my Star Wars Ring-Worlds project, each instalment depicts/will depict a different location in the star wars galaxy with each one confined to the same circular base. And that's about it really, as the title suggests this won't be a series I'll update regularly, rather an ongoing project where I'll build the nest location as and when I fell like it. I've got a few ideas about which planets (or moons ) to do next but if anyone has any suggestions or ideas I'm all ears. But for now at least, I'll end this first post with the first four instalments in the series, Yavin 4, Lah'mu, Naboo and Lothal. Enjoy! UPDATE: Full step by step instructions are now available for free on my Flickr (see sample page bellow). Still no parts list I'm sorry to say but hopefully these instructions prove useful, both to those looking for a complete copy of my design or else taking general inspiration. In either case, Enjoy! You're half right about using Bars: The bar that goes through the centre acts as a lock for the four dishes that aren't really connected to anything. Also, if you were to connect more dishes on top of the existing ball, you could get more variety in the size of explosions (assuming they'll be more than one of course). Hope you find this useful, but even if you don't use this technique, I agree having some exploding ships would really put some life into displays like the one you're talking about (that's not to say the display is incomplete without explosions because it most certainly is not! )

Never ventured outside of the Star Wars forum before but here goes. Over three years ago I made a hexagonal console for the 11th Doctor's TARDIS and never thought to continue it further. It wasn't until I posted my TARDIS 'police box' exterior design on Flickr that I remembered about the console and decided to fish it out from the depths of my unfinished mocs bin. Form then on I was intent on creating the rest of the control room but hadn't found the time nor interest. At least not until Doctor Who returned to our screens for its 10th series where I found myself itching to stray away from Star Wars builds (for the moment at least ) And so I present my interpretation of the 11th doctors TARDIS interior, first revealed over 7 years ago in 'the eleventh hour' (has it really been that long!?) Its worth noting that I wasn't aiming for a total scale replica of the actual set, rather a model that incorporates the basics of this particular incarnation which I saw as the console, a glass floor, 'Swiss cheese' walls/floor, a jumble of staircases/gantries and of course the inside of police box doors. In this I feel its fairly successful but have to say it wouldn't be without Xenomurphy's fantastic TARDIS design over on Flickr. His model of the same console room is truly staggering and I just couldn't begin to think of a better solution for the curved wall than his design. So be sure to checkout his design if you haven't already. But enough talk and on to the pictures! It's not all Star Wars... Thanks so much Everyone! May not be for a while I'm sorry to say, I hope it will be worth the wait! Thanks so much! I may not be able to do full-blown instructions, at least not how I've done all my previous ones anyway. I think a series of breakdown pictures will be more likely. I'd love to see the X-wing when you finish it! Thanks so much!
-
Thanks! Yeah, that would be good if a cockpit screen existed. I suppose the closest one would be the UCS X-wing canopy, I've seen a few other people use that one but I just prefer using bars myself :) Thank you! No breakdown pictures or LDD at the moment I'm afraid, I'll try and get something together though :) Thanks! Thank you! It was just going to be all pristine white bricks but it just didn't look right, glad you like how it turned out! The engines are fairly sturdy, the main white cylinder is firmly connected via plates stacked on their sides and SNOT bricks looked in-between the layers of plates. Its the grey sections on ether end that aren't quite as strong but they very rarely fall off unless they're knocked.

This has been my main project pretty much since Rogue One came out way back last December and I'm glad to say its finally done! My main goal with this was to make a U-wing that is closer to the actual size it appears in the movie and to have a cockpit that's connected to the troop bay unlike on the Lego set. In these respects I think its successful but I think it still needs some work, especially in fixing the proportions which were off from the beginning due to the wing design I chose. However, for now at least I'm just happy to call this finished but I'll no doubt return to it sometime! I have to say a big thanks to Kit Bricksto who let me use his great cockpit area design but also gave me lots of advise throughout the build once we both realised we had been working on our own U-wings. Sadly he hasn't finished his but you can checkout a WIP photo of it here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/kit_bricksto/34815561821/in/dateposted/ More pictures and info about the build is up on Flickr. Any and all comments on the build are very welcome especially ideas for improvements!

Thanks! Haha, I was debating whether to show a breakdown in the same post or just create a separate picture. Ah well :D
-
Nice! Yours look as though you've combined all the other designs into one! Much closer to the original than mine was. Though in my defence I was only attempting to get across the essence of them which seems to be a vaguely octagonal orange box with black detailing.. Still, like I say, I love what you've done here and its nice to see different peoples approaches all in one place! :)

[MOC][WIP][LDD] Minifig Scale Rebels Tie Fighters
Inthert replied to IcarusBuilds's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I thought I recognised some bits and pieces of the design, didn't want to mention it just in case it was pure coincidence. But now I know, I want to say I like how you've modified it to better fit the rebels aesthetic! Shame about the colour being visible on both sides of Sabine's TIE but I suppose its unavoidable without altering the whole design. Nice job with the colours on the bubble though! I have say I love the mining guild variant, its design is just so right for the stylised version and although the wings may be fragile they definitely look good! I'm very tempted to modify my own TIE's now, or at least make alternative wings so I can swap between the two versions.- 6 replies

[MOC][WIP][LDD] Minifig Scale Rebels Tie Fighters
Inthert replied to IcarusBuilds's topic in LEGO Star Wars
When the Rebels style TIE was first revealed I think I was with the majority of people when I say that I didn't like them much. However, I got to admit they've grown on me, to the point where I now can't decide which version I prefer. Which, now I think about it, is probably why my version resembles a bit of both :P But that's all beside the point, I'm just glad to see more Rebels TIEs are being made! I love the way you've slimmed down the curved wings as much as possible on the Advanced variant, way closer to the actual profile than Lego's version. Makes me wonder what a mining guild TIE or even Sabine's one-of-a-kind artwork would look like in the same style! ;D- 6 replies

[MOCs] The Workhorse and the Racehorse of the Rebel Fleet
Inthert replied to DarthTwoShedsJackson's topic in LEGO Star Wars
That's one nice looking Y-wing! Really like those engines. Using tiles on their sides in-between the sloped wedges for the A-wing makes of a nice profile, not too thick, not too thin. -
Ah sorry, yeah I meant astromech droid bodies.
-
I'd quite like to see droid body pieces improved to allow the head to spin. Ether have a single stud in the centre or have the bottom section of a 2x2 turntable moulded instead of studs. I'd prefer the latter as you could fill up the gaps on the dome by using the standard disk piece that forms the top of the turntable. Ooh and 2x5 or even 2x6 wedge plates would be so useful.

Brilliant! Could easily fit right in with the official ones!
