  1. I agree wholeheartedly. If they were so worried about spoilers then they could have released it in January a month after the film had premiered when it would have sold like a hotcake. PLus it would have not had the armoured dwarves as they would have most likely shown up if there had been more bo5A sets. If they had then i'd imagine the Figures for that set would have been Bilbo (blue same as we got), Thorin (laketown clothing), Balin (laketown robes), Dwalin (laketown robes) and bombur (laketown) along with smaug as if it was based primarilly on DOS then kili and Fili would have been in laketown. Alas things did not happen this way. At least we got some of the dwarves in armour, all the principal characters bar another version of thranduil and bolg. Sadly a highly innacurate azog and legolas. plus some more orcs and not forgetting gwahir and smaug. So it could have been better but it could have been worse and at least this wave has three actual structures opposed to walls. They haven't done so bad i mean over the line they have given us more orcs than LOTR ever did, more or less all five main villains although missing one secondary villain, All 13 dwarves, with 5 of them in multiple variations, The entire white council bar saruman (who is availiable elsewhere), all the supporting characters apart from Thorin's father, grandfather and alfrid, also missed out the trolls, we've had loads of bad guy troops i mean over a dozen orcs over 3 years and some goblins. Most of the biggest stages of the films they have represented in one way or another, the battle of the five armies isn't accurate but they only had concept art and prelim costume designs when they planned it.
  2. Still, Now that unpleasant business is over what do you guys think in regards to my other question? If you could have a couple more BO5A sets what would you include?
  3. Actually i have been following this discussion very closely and although a few people made minor mistakes by mentioning trailer footage and others continued this. There was nothing rude or juvenile about how Blazej Holen asked Artanis to calm down. He had clearly made a few typographical errors as spoiler is not spelt "spooler" and only is not spelt omly. I do not consider a couple of obvious accidental keyboard slip ups rude or juvenile, i simply consider them human error. The request to calm down was not directed in a rude way and contained no threatening or rude language so i do not fathom how you could see it this way. Now before this gets out of hand i certainly do acknowledge yours and artanis1's point of view entirely as i can see some would consider a trailer a spoiler. However what i do not understand is the disrespectful way that you replied to this poster both questioning his common sense, turning his request on him and dismissing his point of view due to your assumptions about his age. I was paying attention very closely to this thread and if you look back at page 191 at your comment you will see references to both age (even if jokingly), common sense and a repeat of the request he put to someone else. To be quite plain i am just trying to point out that although discussion of an official trailer without spoiler tags perhaps should not be something that is done here. Shooting someone down after they try to express their opinion of that debate then outright accusing them of being rude or juvenile when your reply to them was condescending in itself solves nothing and makes the situation worse. Then further accusing someone trying to point out that perhaps your reply was a bit sharp of making assumptions or not playing attention to the thread i.e me is also a waste of time because i have been following this thread closely for a good long while. So to sum up, although talking about publicly released material that some feel would spoil potential movie plot lines is a grey area and perhaps should be done with appropriate spoiler tags. Throwing accusations around and insulting (whether intentional or not) someone is not the right way to go about changing the situation. Politely pointing out the fact that it may spoil enjoyment would be a way to do it but eluding to loss of common sense and making a joke about someone's age is frankly disrespectful in my humble opinion. Especially when you misinterpret a mistake and declare that they spoke rudely when most likely they had a simple keyboard error when replying perhaps in haste. Thats my final word on the matter. If you don't agree with my analysis of this situation fair enough that's your opinion and you are entitled to it. However i have spoken only the facts as shown by the comments and claiming i have made assumptions is pointless. Just to be clear once again i really dislike calling out any mistakes or misinterpretations people make so this was quite uncomfortable for me and i'm sorry if any of my points are construed as disrespectful here. I have the highest regard for the EB community and all you LOTR/ Hobbit fans out there,i'm proud to be one of you. On topic. Someone brought up an interesting point on another forum the other day. They wondered what it would have been like if lego had given the wave a couple more sets due to its significance. So here's a question just out of curiosity: If you could have had a few more sets in this wave then what would you have liked to see from the wave character and set wise. Personally i'd have liked a Bolg, Flaming Sauron, Armoured elves, armoured Azog, Leather gettup thorin, Armoured Thranduil, DOS/BO5A casual legolas. Possibly a set of ravenhill (i presume that's what that outpost is) with Thorin (leather), Azog (armour), Bilbo(mithril), Legolas(casual)and Bolg, another smaller ruins of dale set with 4 elves, Thranduil and 2 orcs and one last Dol Guldur set with Flaming Sauron, Saruman, 3 nasgul and injured gandalf. What about everyone else?
  4. I too will probs be putting the remaining BO5A sets on my list ( i have the witch king battle) unless at brick 2014 the opposite of gold madness happens to me if i see the hobbit sets and have money... then again i still have some hobbit sets to catch up on like Lake Town Chase, Barrels, bag end, goblin town, e.t.c so they should distract me from the new ones til Christmas if i see them at brick 2014. I aim to get all the dwarves and sets of the hobbit by the end of the year. Thus far i have Riddles for the ring, attack of the wargs, Mirkwood spiders, Elven outpost thingy, Dol Guldur battle, ambush and witch king battle.
  5. Firstly. I don't think dismissing someone (even jokingly) over their age is a respectful thing to do. Secondly, accusing someone of not using common sense when they clearly have sense is also a touch disrespectful and quite plainly rude. Thirdly, to be fair you were the one making a big fuss over this so telling him to calm down after he requests that you do the same is somewhat of a mute point. On the matter at hand, I don't think what everyone is doing is discussing the trailer itself. I certainly was commenting how from the trailer we can deduce that Lego planned all three Dol Guldur sets based on film 3 and the others were discussing how the movie was represented in Lego, judging by the trailer and what they would have been good to have in the wave. Then what exclusive figures would be good. Besides a trailer can in no way, shape or form be even construed as a spoiler and that is a fact. To be quite brutally honest i have studied film for over 3 years now at college/university and have learned a great deal about the film-making process and I can safely say an approved studio trailer is nowhere near representative of the plot itself. In fact a trailer that gives a lot away is highly discouraged in the industry. I mean its not like anyone has given away anything crucial to the plot that is not publicly available or hasn't been known for months. I understand that there is a topic for culture and multimedia but i think as this is the main forum for the hobbit in general on this site i think perhaps people may have forgotten themselves and posted here. A mistake is all, but again in all honesty what else is there Lego hobbit related for these people to talk about from 2014? The sets have all been released and the middle earth line is all but over. There is no more news of anything Lego Hobbit related so i am not at all surprised that trailer talk surfaces here (partially in reference to the sets). People are passionate about what they love and guidelines or not its bound to surface on a hobbit forum even if its function is Lego related news. Thats my take on this anyhow.
  6. I was saying it would be cool if we got an exclusive figure this is purely speculation. I don't know why the helmets look different possibly as in LOTR we only see them through Frodo's ring vision and they are all the same in his eyes. Here they appear to be the resurrected forms of how they were when they were put in the tombs.
  7. If you are referring to Dol Guldur those aren't elves. Those are the nine nazgul including the witch king of angmar and that's why they are surrounding the white council. You'll notice they are slightly see through in the robes that's because they are the nine resurrected kings of men. Would anyone else love a lego shop surprise exclusive polybag of Sauron on orders over £50 in December. Cause that'd be pretty epic They could imply do him like he appears there an orange figure perhaps partially transparent. Either that or Armoured Bolg.
  8. Ok from the trailer I can garner that the entire Dol Guldur line of sets were based on this scene when it was 2 movies as the look of that room and the statue in the middle is identical to the Lego set. The doorway that Elrond walks through looks remarkably similar to the one in DGA. I reckon Lego intended for us to build this entire scene but had to change the design of Sauron due to it having to be released nearer to DOS/AUJ. Maybe beorn will be involved in the rescue too as will radagast. I did notice in some BTS footage in dol guldur for this movie you can see rad's sled near Gandalf and galdriel so maybe he is involved too. Sad to see that lego got really unfinished looks for everything else. Especially BO5A as it appears Thorin vs Azog goes on in the snow above dale in that outpost plus its sad to see Azog not having his BO5A design in the set nor Thorin having his final battle garb and the obvious omission of Bolg overall. Plus Azog's armour looks awesome shame we will never see it.
  9. Doctor Who is Very Popular and iconic as much as the Ghostbusters or Back To The Future even more so as it has 50 years of history behind it! For Good reason! I would advise you not to insult it!! It is not a phone booth.... However it matters not. Was i the only person who found the 2014 TMNT Movie quite enjoyable? As a bonus Lego's accuracy on that is almost pinpoint with the obvious exceptions being Shredder having a cape and a flesh face and hands. The sets themselves however two out of the 3 of them happen in the movie which is impressive accuracy wise for Lego and one of them has a minor role in the movie but such a scene depicted does not happen. They did do quite well to give us all the main characters of the movie however the only person missing is William Fitchner's Eric stacks who was quite key to the movie. Then again he's a pretty generic looking character so i can see why Lego wouldn't make him.
  10. The magazine said that the main dwarves are trapped there in the battle and that they are unaware that there is a veritable army heading towards their position. Gandalf is trying to convince Thranduil whilst fighting in the ruins of dale to send aid to them. He is uncooperative, Bilbo and Gandalf are apparently arguing in a scene where Bilbo wants to warn the company himself. Thats what i read in the magazine. The set is likely trying to combine bard fighting in dale with other events from the battle like thorin vs azog. We will not know however til the film comes out.
  11. I read the book in 2010. I remember little of it only the basic plot outline and some details. That one must have slipped my mind. Considering what i read in the magazine suggested that hill as quite pivotal to a moment of the battle and showed a picture of it with a broken tower like the one on all the box arts, i naturally assumed that the BO5A set was either based on That or on dale. Might be completely wrong but hopefully the trailer coming very soon confirmed to be over 2 minutes long may shed some light on this.
  12. Has anyone seen this. it seems that dale is quite central for the battle and that a lot happens near and perhaps even inside Erebor as well. Plus in my total film magazine they had a description of a scene where the elves, bard and Gandalf were fighting in dale, whilst the main dwarves were Separated and trapped in a place called raven hill and the main forces were around dale and outside Erebor.Perhaps that structure in the BO5A set is Raven Hill tower? Which apparently is that tower that appears on all the merch for the movie so it must be prominent. I guess until a full trailer hits (hopefully and thought to be this week) we can merely speculate.
  13. JUST WATCHED RISE OF THE OLD MASTERS on Disney XD UK! Wow that was amazing! Jason Isaacs is incredible as the Inquisitor. This show just gets better every week. Now there's only one problem! I have to get the inquisitor set next year! Looking at the figure they've done a magnificent Job on him! I can't wait to see the face! Hope it captures the malice and witty nature of him. I'd hope one face a confident smile, the other a growl or grimace!
  14. I couldn't agree more. I say they should dump the Tv show based lines completely. Focus on the movies and give us 1, 2 or 3 sets for each movie then the amount of aou sets for Avengers movies.
  15. To be quite honest Cap 3 i could definitely see getting sets as the civil war is a superhero war with superheroes literally fighting each other so that will be a very figure heavy wave. I could see Stephen getting 1 or 2 sets. Considering the significance of Ragnarok you'd think that'd warrant a set at least, panther will probably show up later, guardians 2 i could see getting a wave then Avengers: Infinity war would probably get as many sets for each movie as AOU is. Personally i think its time that Lego Focus on the movies with this very film intensive period for marvel coming up. When they have all this wealth of movies they should really save the USM and AA sets for when there are no important movies or just finish them now as other than white tiger and AA version of iron man theres hardly anything left of significance in the TV animated universe to make. Therefore as they are doing with AOU the logical thing to do is to carry on with movies and make at least one set for each marvel movie til 2019. I'd imagine that's what the Dc superheroes line will do once 2016 'Dawns'. See what i did there? Seems next year in a smart move they are filling all the blanks for the comic style/videogame line with a JL centered wave. So that in 2016 they can start the Dc Cinematic Universe line.
  16. I SURELY HOPE SO! My nearest is in Ipswich which is about 30 mins away but for that i'd go there.
  17. Hmm just a thought thinking about the advancements in minfigures made between now and 2012. I really think the figures may be far more advanced printing and design wise than the first wave. Firstly judging by recent examples: i reckon Thor's arms could be metallic silver like nebula in guardians and his hammer could be that color like the orb in guardians. Cap could well have a helmet and i would imagine all the figures like with guardians will get leg printing. There's bound to be a couple of new molds this time round like obviously maybe a new cap helmet but i could imagine that ultron will probably have a molded head as will the drones and they might even mold a Loki staff for Baron Strucker. Design and hairpiece wise i imagine this time they will be far more accurate as the character's looks for AOU like guardians have been known for ages. I could certainly see Widow getting a shorter hairpiece and the starlet one would work well for her. Hawkeye will hopefully finally get the tousled mutt Williams hairpiece in light brown or maybe star lord Colour and perhaps he will get a face sans goggles. That is another thing when it comes to Thor. Lego's beard look worked well in 2012 as their accuracy wasn't what it is now. However their StarLord figure captures Chris Pratt almost uncannily so i would hope that Chris Hemsworth would be given the same treatment and they'd make his beard more accurate as with his face. Hair wise the Qui Gon Jinn hair in blonde would work perfectly, plus they could finally give him leg printing same with Cap. I would imagine that scarlet witch would get the POTC dark brown mermaid hair which would work well for her. One that would work best for quicksilver is the current Luke Skywalker hair in white. I also Hope as they have six sets they give us a range of characters INCLUDING Fury and Hill. Its long past the time those two should've been in mini-figure form based on the M.C.U. Plus Steve rogers and Bruce banner are desperate additions. Plus ultron, drones and Strucker Personally i think they can pull all that off with ease with SIX sets to spread figures out across. Plus a considerable number of them are in the higher price bracket.
  18. I reckon Serkis is Ulysses Klaw. An enemy of Black Panther in the comics. Perhaps he will be introduced in Avengers 2.
  19. I Only linked the clips. I myself am dead against spoiling things before i see them. In fact to be honest i have only seen of this sequence in full the second clip myself. You have a good point about the spoiler tags for people discussing the scene though. I've only seen the official released clips and one of those Dol Guldur scenes myself as i too would like to keep the rest a surprise. To be honest all that has been mentioned in the aforementioned comments is the fate of a certain character. Nothing else of the extended edition has been spoiled so there's one upside. It is true though that a Thrain figure would've been cool. Perhaps i should not have linked the clips after they were requested, but I have to say that i did not force anyone at gunpoint to watch them to be quite plain. On topic of lego the only thing i think this line is outwardly missing (other than thrain) is a proper sauron figure. I mean the sillouette one in desolation had the armour details but it was glowing orange. I don't know about anyone else but a figure like the sauron in armour but with orange fire accents and orange eyes on the helmet would've been pretty epic! Compared to the necro-gorilla we have. Then again no one knows how much of a role he will have in the third one or what form he will take to combat the white council.
  20. Whats great about the clip is it really cements Sauron as a threat in the hobbit films in general. I mean having him actually kill someone is a great way to say this guy is quite powerful now and then it makes it more meaningful when he beats Gandalf. Plus the fact that in the theatrical scenes we barely see any of Gandalf inside the fortress shy of him entering and meeting azog. In the extended cause it goes on for longer it feels better cause theres a buildup to fighting Sauron. On topic. I like the way they did Dol Guldur after seeing this as its clearly the dungeons they are trying to make. I look forward to seeing the next trailer for BO5a and hopefull with some more white council footage as i want to see elrond and galadriel in action as their Lego figures are awesome!
  21. Obviously this is all speculation but with seven avengers 2 sets (including UCS helicarrier) I EXPECT BIG THINGS FROM MARVEL'S 2015 LINE!
  22. No I've just seen clips on YouTube. You can get it on digital if you wish from iTunes but the Dvd/ Blu Ray comes out on the 3rd November over here and the 4th in the USA. Considering I am usually dead against extended editions and a few clips have really impressed me I think I can make a wager that its good! The dol guldur scenes are on youtube. and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ia1wbfpQ5PE. There is one more but its not on the net. Personally I think these scenes should have been in the theatrical film! They make much more sense in context than the version in the movie.
  23. WOW....well. Based on the indication from the trailer: The new quinjet is sure to get a set as its been avenger-fied compared to the shield ones, Strucker's fortress possibly will be the set that has been preliminary called "avengers fortress". Avengers tower looks amazing!! The Hulkbuster for sure will get a set possibly mixing brick build with moulded printed pieces perhaps like the mechs mixed with the iron man ultrabuild. Looks like some sort of tank battle in the woods which I could see being a set. Figure wise we can clearly see: Cap, Thor, Black widow, Iron Man, Hulk, Hawkeye, scarlett witch, Quick silver and possibly Fury on the good side. Maybe we'll even get some civilian looks for the main ones as well. Villains wise: I'd imagine we'd get Ultron, some of his drones and Strucker. What I'm wondering is looking at that trailer are we going to see some different variations of characters in the sets. Like Hawkeye is wearing two different costumes, ultron has his damaged version and seems to have a midway version before his complete one, witch and quicksilver seem to have civvies, cap has a helmetless look. I'm just spitballing here but considering we are getting what? 5 sets? There is a lot of room for figures and variations especially if we are getting avengers tower.
  24. WOW! After watching the extended edition of The Desolation of Smaug not only do I love the movie even more than I did (I loved it a lot) but now I wish the Dol Guldur battle had a thrain figure back in 2013. Anyone who was disspaointed that the Gandalf in dol guldur scenes were brief is going to be pleasantly surprised! PLUS I finally see what parts of dol guldur lego based DGB on. Clue, its not the courtyard where azog attacks him in the theatrical, its more of a dungeon..
  25. The goblin king battle is still available from TRU UK for a reasonable £50 if anyone is interested. Plus amazon have it too still. I still miss: An Unexpected Gathering, Laketown Chase, Goblin king battle and Barrels plus the BO5A stuff. I'm planning to before the year is out complete my Hobbit collection!
