  1. Keeping up with this thread is like chasing after a plane in a smart car, difficult and occasionally confusing. In all seriousness I'm very excited to hear that we're getting Falcon, Spider Man, Winter Soldier, Zemo, panther and Crossbones in MCU form at least!
  2. Something from Agent Carter, the café would be cool or maybe the SSR office/Telephone Company or there's countless vehicle chases to choose from. Either way I'd love to see an Agent Carter figure in a set, same with Agent Coulson. I think at some point down the line they HAVE to do a Lola set. The Bus would be cool too but that's not as prominent in the show at the moment so it might not jump out as a candidate to Lego. I desperately hope that in 2017 Lego finally release some Thor (Ragnarok?) film related sets, there is just so much inspiration character and set wise. The palace of Odin, the flying Chariots, Dark Elf ships, the bifrost, the destroyer, Jotunheim. One thing I think would be cool is if Lego in honour of the MCU's 10th year of Marvel films in 2018 goes back to the origins of each key Avenger and makes a set around their first movie. Each set could come with a figure of the character before they were a hero and then a figure of their first hero costume as well as pivotal characters. Each set could be a memorable and pivotal scene for the characters. They could range in size and price: £12.99 Iron Man is Born: includes Tony Stark (business suit), Iron Man (MK1)and two mercenaries. The main build of the set could be some crates and a scaled down Jericho missile with an exploding feature. £19.99 Thor Vs. The Destroyer, could come with Thor (Donald Blake civilian look), Thor (first film full armoured costume) and Jane Foster and the build of the set could be the destroyer (about the size of groot) and maybe something to represent the destruction of the fight like maybe a car (could also double as Jane's for playability). £29.99 Hulk Vs. Abomination: Hulk, Abomination, Bruce Banner, Betty Ross and General Ross, includes helicopter for ross and a chain for hulk to attack abomination with and some NY debris. £59.99 The First Avenger: Includes the chamber and the lab where Steve is transformed into Captain America, the chamber could have a light brick to light up to show the vitaray transformation, also includes Red Skull's Car (slight change from the movie, by adding that element but it's an important part of the overall narrative). Figures include: Steve (before transformation), Captain America (full WW2 look), Red Skull, Peggy Carter and Howard Stark. Each set could contain a special collector's booklet with both a comic strip telling the story of the set and Information about each character's origins(in movies or comics) and each cover could be a stylised Lego version of the film's poster. I think that would sell really well and both commemorate the MCU's success and provide fans with sets from the earlier movies.
  3. I hope they won't be minidolls, minfigures are far better detailed and expressive, not to mention micro dolls are completely out of scale with minfigures. As much as there may be many Disney princesses in movies, Disney movies are popular amongst boys and girls. I would think Disney would not be pleased if Lego catered only to female fans with this line of figures considering they have always prided themselves on making films that appeal to both genders. The way I see it people who want the friends princess stuff they already have a line for that, I personally think that this should be separate from the friends subgenre and fit into the same sort of subgenre as the Simpsons figures, licensed figures. Disney has such a rich history of films past and present that could be portrayed in multiple waves. If they do go the minidoll route I have to say that would be a colossal missed opportunity, I have a sister who is obsessed with Disney but when I showed her the princess minidoll stuff she disliked the lack of real minifigures, however she was possibly ecstatic when I showed her the image circulating the internet of someone's proposed ideas for a figure line. Either way its not much of a loss for me if they go minidoll route, there are far more promising things planned for 2016 beyond a CMF line of Disney characters.
  4. My bad, I forgot cruella!!! I kind of like that idea could be something like: Hercules, Hades, Aladdin, Jafar, Quasimodo, Frollo, Peter Pan, Hook, Philip, Maleficent, Pongo, Cruella, Simba, Scar, Beast, Gaston. Only problems we start to hit is that the beast would probably have to be a big fig or specially molded as would samba/scar. Then theres the female figures, I mean personally i'd like to see a lot of the characters in proper minifig form, i'm not particularly a fan of the friends figures, the faces on those are a bit generic and don't really capture the personalities of the characters and they are too tall compared to regular MFs so I think an ideal wave would be a mix of heroes, villains and princesses all in the classic lego scale not the friends one.
  5. I really hope that Captain Hook, Jafar, Frollo, Hades, Maleficent and Ursula eventually are made. In fact a Disney villains wave and a Disney heroes wave would be cool. Those are like the most iconic Disney villains, I'd say scar also but he'd be more likely to be a moulded creature.
  6. Wow, I really like what they've done with the sets, its a bit annoying you have to buy the most expensive sets to get the most central figures but I guess this pretty much confirms Rey as the main heroine of the movie as she's the only one in more than one set. I also love that there are so many types and quantity of first order soldiers as with those sets alone you really have a formidable array of bad guys, so much that I think only four main characters and a couple of resistance soldiers might be a bit unfair to the heroes. If I have one complaint its that Finn should've been in the speeder also as I assume from what we know that he's one of the primary characters alongside rey, same with Kylo really I feel he should've or could've been in a slightly smaller set as well, maybe he'll appear in one in the January wave and maybe finn will too, its no bother to me its just I feel some kids might miss out, and the thing they do so right on most movie licenses is the main hero and villain often appear in smaller sets and they have different variants in larger sets. Take MOS, both Superman and Zod appear in the smallest set to visualise the final battle. Disney's POTC 4 is another example they put blackbeard in a £20 set as well as on the flagship (literally) set. Heck even the SW rebels line has a mid sized set with the Inquisitor, and apparently another set with him, maybe with a different Face/saber coming out in 2016 apparently. Still I like the looks of the sets.
  7. I personally hope Capaldi is in his usual costume rather than Matt's sans bowtie, although if he were in matts that would mean an exclusive variant. However it would also mean people who didn't have games consoles would have to buy the dimensions level pack to get the usual outfit of 12 which would be a bit annoying. If this set is big enough to have six figures then maybe they'll include both variants of 12's costume. I wonder if its the blue accented series 7 interior and maybe you can rebuild it into the orange accented series 8-9, that'd be a cool feature. Nice to see a Clara also, I guess it'll be the time of the doctor variant from the dimensions level which is cool cause she wore that for a certain amount of "Deep Breath" also. Nice to get purple coated Matt though cause that costume was my favourite of his looks, as striking as the tweed was, the black waistcoat and dark purple frock coat was so cool, slick and unique.
  8. THATS GREAT!!! Makes sense too, as it means they can produce the most iconic part of the show (tardis duh), whilst including two most recent doctors and the most recent companion and also including two fan favourite villains whilst also basing it on a recent(ish)episode which has already aired therefore not spoiling any series 9 developments. You've done it again Hulk_Smash you've done your rebellion proud ;)
  9. I'm just going to say, I went to London Film And Comic Con this weekend and saw these first hand for sale. A selection of the fakes weren't half bad but a lot of them weren't of satisfactory quality. I did however see a couple of big figs, custom or fake I could not determine but I did out of curiosity buy a big fig The Thing, and to be quite honest on quality comparison with my Lego Hulk big Fig, it is surprisingly pretty much identical, joint wise, moulding of the body parts was pretty much identical to Lego and the moulding of rocky texture was quite impressive, its pretty sturdy like Lego, facial printing was very crisp and Lego like and it meshes well with my other big figs. The minifigures I wasn't keen on upon seeing them so I didn't get any of those cause they didn't look like Lego enough convincingly, the big fig I got however of the thing is pretty much identical. It hasn't got the Lego mark on the underside of the foot but its literally identical, the plastic feels the same and looks the same as the stuff Lego uses. I mean I'm not endorsing the bootleggers, but I am saying if this was a bootleg Thing big fig then it was pretty much Lego standard. The normal figures aren't anywhere near but the big figs are almost 100 percent. I did change out the connectors holding the arms in with Lego and this made them a tad less loose but that was an easy fix and it moves just as well as my official Lego big figs. I'm not planning to buy anymore but it actually fits in really well with my collection surprisingly.
  10. To be honest If all there will be is an ideas set I'd be happy with: 12,Clara, missy, Dalek, cyberman and a tardis exterior. It would also sell well with series 9's anticipated premiere and the release of lego dimensions. It's enough for me just to have one doctor who set just to be able to add the doctor and the tardis to my collection. Doctor who and lego have been my two favourite things for as long as I can remember so to see them come together for me is just phenomenal! Plus to have capaldi one of my favourite actors and doctors join the lego universe, again is just mind blowing! If they did make anymore sets/doctors after the ideas one I would of course jump on it but for now one and with capaldi should be enough for me!
  11. besides a lot of those figures are possible as of this year: smith, tennant, ecclestone, hurt, Mcgann, troughton, pertwee, Colin baker, Davison. The only ones that require new moulds are hartnell, Ecclestone, McCoy and Tom baker. And lego could easily make them, I mean capaldi, doc brown and countless other new dimensions characters have brand new elements, lego have done hat and hair combine moulds since 2011, the scarf would be the only revolutionary piece really.
  12. I concur I'd say its satisfyingly movie accurate the colouring looks good, scale is excellent in relation to a figure cockpit is awesome piece wise and it's nice that it can open like the movie, stud shooters are both practical and easy to shoot and could easily double for mounted guns or become mounted guns with modification. The figure by the looks of that turnaround is gold belted rather than yellow that we cgi image must've been a bit off, can't wait for fbtb or someone to take proper pics.
  13. making the physical model wider would solve the problem no size increase required, as much as I hate to admit it the character building non lego tardis is pretty much perfect scale.
  14. They nailed Sheldon's ironic fake smile! I think the cgi images were a bit misleading compared to the physical set which the figures look much better in and seem to have a lot of nice show accurate details!
  15. yeah but that's a bit big to it in relation to the size of a minifigure, we don't want it to dwarf a minifigure we want it to look like the minifigure is in scale to the box as they are in the show and usually the doctor is just a tad smaller in height as the doors in the show as in the dimensions version.
  16. Probably a new mould then like they newly moulded zod and faora's armours for MOS. Can't wait to se what's unveiled today at comic con, brickset say at 11:00 us time they are unveiling the full bat mobile set, lord knows when images will surface uk time though, probably late at night, I'm not the best at calculating time zones. I wish I was there in San Diego, waiting for images and reveals in the uk is agonising. Thankfully we have fbtb and brickset I think to keep us apprised.
  17. I think it might be representing either the latest tenant appearence day of the doctor or series 2 where his hair wasn't that high cause he got the high hair in series 3 but series 2 and day of the doctor it was flatter.
  18. my sentiments exactly plus you 've got to appreciate the creativity in them and the initiative of lego to actually make something rather than fully moulding brand new parts!
  19. . Yeah that is cool! Hope so too, really one of those daleks a cyberman, 12, Clara, missy and weeping angel along with that tardis exterior I'd be satisfied as the first doctor who set, if this game and set does well I reckon it could become a range of doctor who like scooby doo.
  20. the dimensions ones are fig scale in relation to lego figs and the show they are the same height as a minifigure or maybe taller, you can see them on the fan show YouTube demo video on the table.
  21. it's lego's style lego don't want to copy cb because they want to put their own stamp on it, they are obviously the gold daleks because they have been reintroduced and the paradigm phased out almost entirely because fans didn't like them they weren't in the following season and only appeared as in the background commanders in asylum of the daleks , if you watch the latest 2 series, the gold ones are now predominant. Lego wanted them brick built rather than moulded this allows for poseability and for them to be lego's style, these aren't supposed to be action figures. Tbh the gold ones look infinitely better than the tall bulky colourful ones.
  22. From this I reckon the ideas set will be that in game tardis exterior, 12th doctor, Clara, missy, Dalek and cyberman. This would reuse stuff from dimensions meaning lego didn't have to do anything unique figure wise for ideas and it would work as both an ideas tie in and a series 9 one. That's what I reckon anyway.
  23. Lego dimensions has just announced yesterday and today two announcements, 1. That Peter Capaldi will voice The Doctor in the game, 2. Clara Oswald and Missy will feature voiced by Jenna Coleman and Michelle Gomez respectively also Nick Briggs will voice the daleks according to IMDB. I wonder if that selection of characters for the game is is an indication of the characters to be featured in the ideas set, it would make sense to be honest as Series 9 of Doctor Who starts in September with a two part opener featuring the return of Michelle Gomez as Missy, which will be previewed at SDCC, as will doctor who's impact on dimensions so maybe that will be when they reveal officially the Doctor Who ideas set and then release all three in September as dimensions and series 9 both come out in sept.
  24. Michelle Gomez and Jenna Coleman are confirmed alongside Peter Capaldi to reprise their roles as Clara Oswald and Missy: http://www.ew.com/article/2015/07/07/lego-dimensions-doctor-who-voice-cast?hootPostID=66133d470dce5c4aad053fb27ce55c5f also IMDB credit Nick Briggs as the voice of the daleks! I wonder if judging by those character choices if that's what will appear in the Lego ideas set? If they were to announce it I'd expect it to be a comic con this week, alongside Series 9's first trailer and doctor who's part in lego dimensions.
  25. Personally I reckon they'll be about 5 or 6 civil war sets, then 2 spider-man or another animated based thing and one doctor strange sort of like this year. Civil war clearly looks to be as big as AOU and unlike TWS Lego has already been slated as making sets for it.There looks to be a lot of set potential and a humungous cast of characters, from the likes of Cap and Iron Man in new variations, to Falcon,Scarlet Witch, Ant Man, Winter Soldier, Zemo, maybe even the first appearance of MCU's spider man. Lots to cover.
