I was just chuckling that no-one ever bothers me... The truth is that most of my collection sits in boxes/bags. I live in NYC so space is somewhat of a premium. At the moment I have Han's Snowgroomer and 8421XXL at my office desk. I have NK's concept car, 8288 alternate, a mystery model (which I will reveal later), Barmans V8 in Yellow, 8420 and 8258 in my apartment. I rotate models around when I have time to build. My next project is going to be building two of Grazi's tow truck (one in white/one in black...I have the parts for both collected) and building 6x 5571's (one with a trailer) and 2x 5563. Combined with the MISB box versions I have of them (I had 2 of each but just sold one of the 5571's) I think it will make a great picture! My most recent project (the mystery model) I will be making a post about soon though!

I have collected for every one of those cars (as most of you know). If there are any questions based on subbed parts colors please ask me. I know RoscoPC doesn't like to sub but I certainly understand there are times that it just can't be done. Those 1x4 bricks are a perfect example and the black is just fine instead of the Dk Green. -

I think we should. I have already received many, many seller account requests just in the first 2 days. In the long run it will be easier for me to manage if everyone fills out the form on the website but its fine to discuss it all here first. Plus, I havn't really sent word out to the general public or even the general lego people since I don't yet have any MOC's on the site that would satisfy them. -

Well the simple answer to that is because I am in the US and didn't think about it. I am sure there is a way to have the price adapt to the currency in their locale but I will have to change that. Also, got your seller request! Gotten quite a few already! -

You need to have the log-in information because your plans are available for viewing only while logged-in. I might try to integrate facebook log-ins or if paypal ever offers it, paypal log-ins. -

No your address isn't required technically speaking...there is no bill. Its still active to help prevent spam. You check out with paypal instantly. As far as the sample...yes we are writing a script that will randomly pull 2 or 3 pages from the instructions. Also, I wanted Grazi's Tow Truck to be free but haven't been able to get it to work reliably since the act of "checking out" is the authentication method for approving usage of the files. I will try to get it worked out with a coupon code so everyone can see what the instruction viewer looks like. YES... if you want to have your MOC's posted I highly recommend filling out the "sell" link so that I can start to keep track of everyone and get the information out when we are ready to add more users. Theres a good chance that while I am waiting for the designer page to be developed I will continue to add more established MOC's in the meantime. -

Well... I do believe the site is what you would call LIVE. Since its a Beta site please let me know your thoughts/comments/concerns. I know we will have quite a bit of work to do prior to a full launch. EDIT: Its worth noting that I am just waiting for Nathan from Rebrickable to "turn on" all those MOC's on his site and then I will link them so that everyone has the inventories for all those MOCS! -
I highly recommend looking at the works of Jennifer Clark! www.genuinemodels.com She strived to make every model as realistic as possible given space. Her LS160 Skid-Steer is quite accurate. Also her JS220 Excavator is incredible and has instructions available...and soon to be available in more than one location I also recommend taking a look at Sheepo His 911 goes out of its way to be accurate as much as possible (even with Caster/Camber and Disc Brakes).

I'm no builder....we all know this. But often I find myself looking through parts in the BL database. I can across THIS part. I can't say for certain but it looks as though it would be a standard technic pin hole in which case it could be very useful for some of the hybrid studded/studless builders out there like RoscoPC, Sariel, and Jennifer Clark (when we all twist her arm enough to start building again). I recently worked on a project that had to utilize THIS part and cursed the fact that it was two studs tall when I was really hoping for just one. Its quite a useful part for spacing, but as I look at both of them together it appears as though the spacing is different from the bottom. Just thought I would share this since I haven't seen anything about it.

[MOC] Swingloader Mark Two
nychase replied to D3K's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I have to say. I love this MOC. Its got everything you could want including incredible complexity in a realitively small frame. I also love how you integrated the IR receivers in a way that doesn't scream "hey...we're over here". Job well done! I already exported the parts list from rebrickable. For those of you that are wondering...its about 400 bucks in parts if using used parts. Most of that is the PF stuff so if you have some lying around expect the cost to come down significantly. -
Stone Trailer Truck

I actually knew you were making an orange model because I was talking to Paul and he said you bought up all his orange beams when he listed them a few months ago. I ... LOVE your models and I have all of them, I actually have the snow groomer (NT) and 8421XXL on my desk at work right now. That being said, I am not a fan of the color scheme. I just think its too busy and too bright. I know things get boring sometimes with black, yellow and red but I just think the black/orange/lime/white is just too busy. I will be building the model (as usual with your stuff) but I think I will change the colors. I wont know to what until I have seen an inventory and played around with whats available. Also, to those who want to build this model, it uses some crazy expensive and rare parts in the current scheme. Just try to buy an orange bush (3713) for the axle hubs. Plus, we all know the worldwide shortages that can occur from your models. You completely changed the market on the pneumatic brackets, the black 94 wheel/tire and up until this month the yellow 5x11 panels. Just from your 6x6! Either way, glad to see you are still making models!- 70 replies

I really don't mean to tear into you like its about to seem... Is that really good advice? You basically in one message summed up why the entire world is in the credit situation it was/still is in. To paraphrase you said, "its better to hold onto something you can't afford so that you can be happy rather than do the financially prudent thing and sell when you don't have excess income" OP, please do the RESPONSIBLE thing and sell if you think you need to. I would hate to see someone take a loan just to keep some toys when there are endless better reasons you may need the money. I know that when I was a kid my parents choose to buy me legos first and if the budget allowed they would get food and clothes.

Don't listen to him! Sell them to me. No but seriously, you wouldn't be bad off selling them to Eric. Your stuff is probably worth 900 or so after looking through the pictures. Nothing you have is rare since its all so new (except for those custom tires). Having someone from here buy it up for some amount less than that (within reason) lets say 700-750 would be a very fair price for both parties. You get the chance to sell everything in one lot without much effort and the buyer gets a pretty good return on bulk parts. You would probably get around 600 on ebay and then lose another 75 in fees so it wouldn't be the route to go. Based on everything I saw in pictures it will cost around 50 bucks to ship anywhere in the states. Best of luck, and if you can't find any buyers shoot me a PM. I didn't get the largest parts collection on here by shying away from bulk purchases!

Just some of my thoughts as I probably have the largest collection of second-hand technics of all the members on this forum. When you are missing that many parts but none are important there is a large chance that the seller said "complete" because the model was built and was functional (and looked complete). To the average Joe that fully qualifies as complete. You can't bark down someones throat because we are all die-hard lego fanatics and know that even though one model of the set was complete there were a few small parts used on an alternate model that are missing. True, its frustrating that a few parts are missing but honestly, you probably purchased second hand legos from a housewife who had the model built from the years her son lived in the house and is just getting around to selling it. I know you were innocently asking about the differences between inventory databases so please don't take my above sentence's to be attacking. I am really trying to address some of the other commenters telling you to notify ebay and paypal etc. I never trust anyone to say that a set is complete. Even sets I purchased from BL sellers were rarely complete per BL's inventory. Also, don't forget that there is always a question of is a set complete if it has all the parts it originally came with (including extras that were never used) or complete if it has everything needed to build all official models? Many of the parts you listed appear to be potential extras and therefore extremely unlikely to be included in an 18 year old set purchased at auction.

Lego Technic Mobile Crane
nychase replied to legosamigos's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I've studied the pictures of her model quite a bit and I would imagine it would be quite difficult to convert that model to PF IR and to redo all those portions that were either glued or custom made. -

There is an outside chance of us launching a Beta version of the site for June 1st. The only thing I can say are that its incredibly hard to do this. The amount of work involved and navigating state, federal, VAT and every other tax makes the whole thing almost silly to even try. There are a few members of this forum who have seen the site in action so it is quite real and functional...but these last few steps have proved quite troublesome. And yes, Rosco's Cars will be available the second we launch. -
I have almost 500 feedback which is mostly from buying. What I can tell you is that you can buy from pretty much anyone and you will get what you expect out of the deal. Very rarely am I disappointed from any seller. One exclusion but they were removed from bricklink. On that note, I have placed 14 orders from Bricksy in Germany. Don't be afraid of international orders or shipping. Out of nearly 500 orders (both buying and selling) I have NEVER had an order go missing. I know it happens but the odds are in your favor that you wont have any issues. Plus, you can't beat those Germans for their vast supply of vintage/rare parts. If you want to know why they are so well stocked and want to cry, checkout Ebay.de and see how cheap models are. Brings me to tears instantly. I also frequent every store mentioned by Paul and want to give my strong recommendation to Brick em Danno here in the USA. Danny is a *PERFECT* seller. Always well packed, shipped fast, super responsive to anything you may need and just an all around great guy. Hes also a member here on EB so he knows what to stock whenever a new MOC comes out.

Speaking of that... I wish there was an easy way to report a store. (If there is just tell me). But similar to how craigslist allows you to "flag" posts you should be able to easily and instantly get rid of these A$$ holes. On that note, I have built the V8 in Yellow and Orange (yeah) and its a fantastic model. Would have happily payed 10 dollars for the instructions.

Not at all subtle there! Soon, soon. As some members of this forum can confirm there is actual testing going on right now and we should be releasing Roscos F1 cars very soon. There are a few issues with scaling and some missing pages that we are still working on before we go into this "public beta" phase.
