From where do you know that, Tom Bricks? We don't have got a confirmed price yet. But it surely can't be more than 80 Euros/Dollars (since the awesome 10193 MVV includes one more minifig and one more buidling plus the buildings in this set are much bigger than the one in the brilliant 10199 Christmas Cottage). Since there are more minifigs included in this set like in the regular City sets with the price class of 70 Euros/Dollars but no vehicles I bet that the price will be aroung 70-80 Euros. Really?! Imo the snowman is the only element in this set which looks bad. So you mean that this curious jester "thing" and even the tan "thing" next to it are toys for the kids? Yes, Tom Bricks, when I look again at the picture I must say that it seems so! Klaus-Dieter

Thank you very much for your nice comments, Sir Dillon and Tom Bricks! Thanks, Sir Dillon! About the swinging doors: I firstly wanted to include a regular door. But it didn't look that good. Plus to a saloon simply belong swinging doors! Nice to hear that you like them! About the horse: Well, in one of my older MOCs I tried to design a brick-built horse after the example of exactly that horses you mentioned. Nut LDD didn't have all elements I would have needed. About the baseplate: There are only three baseplates available in LDD at the moment: 32x16 dark grey, 16x8 dark grey and 16x16 green. Thanks, Tom Bricks! Since some weeks there are new and more elements available I simply wanted to try a new and even a bit different saloon. Nice to hear that you like it! I never bought any of my LDD MOCs and surely will not even in the future. But if TLG releases some new Western sets I surely would buy them (if they aren't too similar to the last line or too <insert that tiresome argument> designed)! I design all those LDD MOCs firstly because it's fun and secondly because I want to show which sets could be made even with not too many new molds needed. But neverthelessit seems as if I haven't convinced TLG to release some new Western sets! Klaus-Dieter

Thank you very much for that pic, baby! I totally agree with you, Hinckley! This is the set I've been waiting for years now, too! This set looks absolutely  ! Only a carriage for Santa Claus pulled by two reindeers is missing. One more snowy house would have been nice since the way it is now it looks a bit lonely. A snow mower or a motor slide would have been a great addition. Nevertheless it looks perfect! The accessories us stunning! Hopefully the interior of the cottiage will be that detailed, too, but regrettably I fear not. The minifig combination is awesome: two men, two women and three kids! Now Lego City does not still die out because of missing offspring! I surely will buy this lovely set! So I hope that we'll get some additional winter sets as regular wave in January! Some questions: Does someone see what happened to the jester? He looks so strange - not really like a regular minifig! What do you think there'll be for interior in the house? A chimney similar to one of the two in the awesome 10193 MVV is very supposably, don't you think? Do you see a coffee machine in the right part of the left window downstairs, too? Can you detect what the man with the bowler hat and the woman with the lomg coat wear in their hands? Klaus-Dieter

Not really, DJ Force. I only tried to do something similar TLG did in the great 7641 City Corner set, too: the floors are detachable. How do you like the big safe? Klaus-Dieter

I totally agree with you, posades! If TLG releases some beach sets in not pink colors (which I even bet) then these sets would not only awake interest in girls but in boys, too. Richie, don't forget that TLG would surely release a Greek theme not as a historical theme (which I would like, too) but as a fantasy/mythology theme similar to the ugly current Castle theme. But now back to City: Do you think that TLG will release some maritime sets next year, too? Perhaps a yacht (possibly in addition to a possible beach subtheme)? Klaus-Dieter

Thank you very much for this link, commdr_neyo! The Tauntaun looks really awesome! But what's that - is it blind or why does it have three dots above its eyes?! Klaus-Dieter

Hello everybody! About a week ago I designed following saloon with LDD: Wild West Saloon (Pieces: 267) It’s a calm day in Legoredo when in the saloon suddenly a card player stands up, holds up the saloon keeper and escapes with a big suitcase filled with dollar bills and gold pieces. Will you help the sheriff to catch him? This set includes a saloon (first floor: saloon, second floor: bedroom), the saloon keeper, his wife, a robber, the sheriff, a white horse and a lot of accessory. Comments are welcome! Especially to those who commented on my real built Western Saloon and my last LDD version of Nicolas' Saloon: Do you like how I built the big windows downstairs in this new LDD MOC here? Klaus-Dieter

What New Themes or Sets would you like TLG to make?
Klaus-Dieter replied to CopMike's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Here is a completely new idea I think TLG has never been releasing in any theme before and which I really would like to see TLG releasing in the City theme: Bridge Buildup some bridge pieces, one until three pylons, a little van (for transportating tools and workers) and a floating crane including two rock pieces (for the left and the right side where the bridge ends), a handy, some tools and a cup minifigs: captain and two until three workers Playability: The different bridge pieces can be connected together in order to have a long roadway. When the bridge is built up it can either be used as a bridge for cars driving on it or for one train or even better two trains driving on it. The pylon(s) can be added on the bottom of the bridge pieces in order to that a small ship or a train can drive through below it. The floating crane is aible to tranport some of the bridge pieces. The floating crane takes the bridge pieces of its cargo bay, turns round and then adds them to the other bridge pieces which are already connected. This set would offer a lot of playability and action for JFOLs and for AFOLs a great addition to their city layouts or simply the opportunity to get a bridge for a train. Thanks for reading! In this point I don't agree with you, KH3D! The brick-built chicken, turkey and penguins look imo really great and realistic ! I totally agree with you, KH3D! A Zoo theme would be brilliant! The only thing I fear is that if TLG releases such a theme they will design the main set that <insert that tiresome argument> like they did with this year's Farm set - and that would be . I even doubt whether TLG will release a Zoo theme since this would mean lots of different animals - and these seem to be the most expensive parts of sets next to minifigures. But imo there is even no need for many new molds since there have been already a lot of animals in the past which TLG only needs to take and to release again: -elephant -crocodile -monkey -snake -spider -skorpion -ice bear -brick-built penguin -grey shark -white shark -sword fish -dolphin -flounder -octopus -parrot -big insect (IJ theme) -bat -raptor The only new mold TLG really has to do would be a mold for either a tiger or a lion since one of this animal has to be included in a possible zoo theme/set because they are that popular! And now here a completely new idea: Bridge Buildup some bridge pieces, one until three pylons, a little van (for transportating tools and workers) and a floating crane including two rock pieces (for the left and the right side where the bridge ends), a handy, some tools and a cup minifigs: captain and two until three workers Playability: The different bridge pieces can be connected together in order to have a long roadway. What do you think? Hello everybody! Some weeks ago I built this MOC with LDD: Bank Robbery (Pieces: 321) Hands up! There is a robbery in the City Bank of Lego City. But luckily somebody phoned the police which arrives with a police car and two officers. Will the bank robber be stopped? This set includes a bank (1st floor: hall and room with safe, 2nd floor: director’s office), police car, male police officer, female police officer, bank’s director, female bank officer, bank robber and a lot of money, gold and other accessory. Two more pics can be found in this folder of my BS gallery. Comments are welcome! Klaus-Dieter

It's great to see you awaiting that interested the layout of my city center of Legostadt! An addition: Here is the detailed plan of the park: Only for explanation: The park (which is already finished and looks imo fine) is built on a green 32x32 baseplate. In the middle there is the fountain from the awesome 10184 Town Plan. The green circles shall illustrate broadleaf trees (the ones you can find in the lovely new Sports Car set, too), the green quads shall illustrate little flower beds, the brown quads park benches and the grey quads brick-built dustbins (like the one in the Octan Gas Station from 1993). Thank you for this advise, BlueBard! I wouldn't have noticed it. Like you can see I corrected it. Of course it shall not be a Mars Mission set but the 6699 Cycle Shop. Thanks, TheBrickster! I must say that I'm very proud of those sets, too. But an update is really needed since I already destroyed the camera car because it looked to simple to me and because I'll very supposably sell the old post office and the old post car if TLG releases a new post office next year. Plus I bought, buy and even plan to buy some more new City sets. So I let these pics of this past layout on my brickshelf gallery. Thank you for this advise, TheBrickster! I'll ask about it. Klaus-Dieter

Update September 29, 2009: page 4 Update August 13, 2009: page 2 Hello everybody! Since we're getting with the Farm theme this spring and the Town theme this summer a lot of awesome City sets I decided to buy some of them (you can see a list in my signature) and to overwork the plan for my final City layout. I even found a new name for my Lego City since Lego City is a so common name that it's nothing special. So my Lego City shall be called Legostadt - which is exactly the same name but in German. I regrettably haven't got enough place to display all of my City sets so I decided to show you the most important part of every city - the city center - first. Until now I only made a precise plan for the city center which will be finished at the latest in October. Here is the plan: City Center of Legostadt As soon as I own the sports car, the city corner and the wind turbine transport I'll built this layout up and will show some pics here. Any questions? What are your thoughts? Any ideas for improvement? Btw: Since Legostadt (at least how I see it now) grows and grows there will be some updates from time to time which I'll post here in order to not always have to open a new topic. To one of the admins: The topic My Lego City can now be deleted since I'll delete the pics added in this topic as soon as when I'm ready with the layout of the city center of Legostadt. Klaus-Dieter

That's a great and very interesting topic, TheBrickster! But the choices are really too difficult! Nevertheless I voted for Freight simply because I already own the S@H rereleased versions of the Metrolioner and the Railroad Club Car - but no freight train until now. (But that's imo not an adequate reason for voting. ) I really would like to see TLG releasing a new elevated train as main part of the possible fan's choice set next year since I really would like to have a train which mainly runs through the city but does normally not leave the city. But after that I will try to get a freight train, too, since you really need minimum one freight train for your City (in principle one is even much too less). The point is that the freight train theme does offer more playability and even many more sets. To passenger trains you can only add very few seperate train cars (a dining car and a sleeping car, perhaps even a post car (if you don't count it to freight) - but that's it), a station, a level crossing and perhaps an engine shed. But as addition for feight trains there are many more possibilities: a depot, a cargo loading station, many different seperate train cars (such as a refridgerator waggon, an Octan waggon, some container waggons, ...), many transport vehicles, lorriesm, vans, fork lifts etc. to transport the cargo from e. g. a depot to the train, ... Plus you can see at the current 10193 Emerald Night that TLG totally disregarded the interior design and the number of minifigs is simply risible - and this should have not happened since it is an extra for AFOLs designed set! So this is another reason for why I say that at least in this exclusive passenger train set I'm not that interested than in freight train sets. Klaus-Dieter

That's an awesome entry, Galaxy Explorer! I really it! The architecture of the two buildings is brilliant as does the choice of minifigs, cars and accessory! The interior of the buildings is absolutely perfect since you did the best with the aim to only use classic elements and the very small place! If the buildings wouldn't be that big (which I really like) it could well be an official Lego set and then I really would buy it! Only one suggestions: I'd add one more seat to your bus stop and place the street map not on the bench. Otherwise it's perfect! The most I like that you built buildings with many floors and great interiors, the market is brilliant, the snackbar, too, the camera van and the bus look superb and the TV tower (with many rooms, a very small but fair news studio and even a garage for the camera van) is excellent, too. A great idea to bring back the TV theme which never got a real chance ! Btw: Your great bus would even make well as a broadcast van for the TV group! Very, very well done! And btw: I'm very late but nevertheless: Welcome to EB, Galaxy Explorer! Klaus-Dieter

I regrettably have partly to disagree with you, Zorro! For Harry Potter I see no chance since with every new movie the number of the corresponding Lego sets got less and even more less: the movie before the last movie there were only three sets and to the last movie there was only one huge set released exclusively in only some special shops. So it's imo very unlikely. For Agents I don't think that there'll be new sets since there are already two waves. And what should TLG releae next?! On the other hand this is a fantasy theme and so there are no limits, meaning even that there may be even more sets. For Castle I already mentioned that I'm really unsure. Since there'll be some new Pirates sets I think that there'll be some new Castle sets if there isn't another new "historical" or historical theme. If yet then there'll supposably be no new Castle sets. I really hope that you're right, Tom Bircks! A new Western theme would be awesome! According to the new elements which make a new Western theme very supposably or at least possible: don't forget the brown fence (form the Farm theme), gun and revolver (from the IJ theme), the green dollar bill (from the Space Police theme) and the Western cap (from the IJ theme; which could be easily done in blue or dark blue for US soldiers). I totally agree with you, Tom Bircks! Although an Egypt theme would be - if it was no adventurer theme but a historical theme - awesome I can't imagine TLG releasing one in the next years. That's a great and very interesting topic, TheBrickster! Until last year I opened all sets I bought and built them up. At the moment I still own three Public Worker Impulse sets (of last year) unopened, the last version of the mail van (of last year) and the new Farm set unopened. And I even don't plan to open them in the next years: The public workers I bought for having some more big dustbins for a later, bigger and complete layout of my Lego City somewhere in the future when I hopefully will have got enough place to display them constantly - but that's a lot of years until then (I know that this might sound a bit stupid to some of you but ...). The last version of the mail van I'll sell as soon as TLG will release a new version of it which includes car doors. And the new Farm set I'll sell as soon as TLG will release a better and more detailed version of it. If they don't I'll built it up when there'll be the point when I've got the chance to display all my City sets constantly in a huge City layout. This year I only plan to buy one City set which shall stay unopened: a second exemplar of the awesome 7747 Wind Turbine Transport. The first exemplar I'll built up - the second will stay unopened to build it up when I (hopefully) will have more place in my final City layout. For the next years I can well imagine that I'll buy many City sets which I'll let unopened - simply because I have only very few space still left. Klaus-Dieter

I didn't mean that TLG won't sell any "Caslte" sets next year, Richie. I only meant that it might be possible that they won't release new "Castle" sets in 2010. I fear that, too. I want Western and not Greeks! I partly agree with you, Richie. Since legomilk already listed that there'll be some new trains within the City theme I, too, think that we'll get a new freight train - very supposably a new passenger train, too. And I even think that TLG will sell an extra car for 10194 - but already this year and not firstly in 2010. But I don't think that TLG will offer a new train station to us already next year. Releasing a new passenger train, a new freight train and perhaps one or two other little sets will make a complete new subtheme. Since there surely will be two other City subthemes in 2010 (January and April) I bet that there won't be place for a train station, a depot or something like that - regrettably. But the last train station was imo a total flop - so you never know perhaps the next version won't be good, too. Having detected these three lovely new minifigs in one of those Agents sets in this review here on EB I thought: It would be unsupposably that TLG does only release those three new minifigs for only one Agents sets. And since these minifigs actually belong to the City theme: Do you think that TLG will release a beach/seaside subtheme in the City theme next year in which these minifigs will be included? A beach hotel would be ! Klaus-Dieter
-
Thank you very much for this great review, maniac3! I didn't vote since I really do not like the Agents sets and so this would only have been given a wrong result. Nevertheless I must say that I really those three new civilian minifigs! I hope that they'll appear in some of next year's City sets, too! Klaus-Dieter
-
That's an awesome MOC, TinyPiesRUs! I must admit that when I saw firstly the first pic I thought: "Oh well, another CC styled MOC. " But this wasn't the case when looking at all the other pics. I really your MOC! The interior of your restaurant is simply awesome and very realistic and charming! The most I like the bar, the gladiator statue and the crown lamp. Very, very well done! Klaus-Dieter
-
That's a great MOC, Eilif! I really like it! The idea and outcome are both perfect! The color scheme is great and the architecture is great, too. The mosaics and flowers are a nice additions. Only two suggestion: I'd add some more foliage plants and would replace the brick-built windows by real ones. Otherwise it's very nice! The most I like the mosaics and the top of the lighthouse. Very well done! Klaus-Dieter
-
That's an awesome entry, Hinckley! I really it! The architecture of the two buildings is brilliant as does the choice of minifigs and accessory! It could well be an official Lego set and then I really would buy it! Only two suggestions: I'd add a second floor to the bank since now it looks a bit flat and two floors would even offer more room so that you can have the room where people get their money downstairs and an office upstairs. That's what I don't like that much - namely that counter and office are in one and the same room plus the counter looks imo a bit seldom. But that's like already said perhaps only my opinion. Otherwise it's perfect! The most I like the architecture of both buildings, the lovely interior of the restaurant, the black car and the classic trees. Very, very well done! Klaus-Dieter
-
That's a great entry, Tom Bricks! I really it! The bank and the inn look very realistic and very classic in style, too! The green color for the bank is a great idea. The only thing which I already mentioned at koffiemoc's entry and what looks a bit strange to me is that you included a monorail (which is indeed a great idea) but with only some very few tracks and not a whole circle of tracks. Otherwise it's perfect. The most I like the taxi, the inn, the little garden and the red car. Very well done! Klaus-Dieter
-
That's a great entry, TheOtters! Now you still managed to built and place an entry and even a very good one - congratulation! I really it! This is really a very exceptional and brilliant idea! The tribune looks great, the lounge does, too, the horse transporter and the races, too. Only one suggestion: I'd have added some seats to the tribune since now it looks a bit empty. Otherwise it's perfect. The most I like the lounge with the big blue window pieces and the horse transporter. Very well done! Klaus-Dieter
-
That's a great entry, koffiemoc! I really it! The buildings look very nice and you even included many important things: a snackbar, a bus station, a little "park", some brilliant classic cars and something very exceptional - the warehouse - which is imo a great idea (and btw I really don't understand why TLG hasn't released a warehouse or depot as City set before). The train station with the level crossing is a very nice idea, too. What looks to me a bit stange is that there is a train with tracks but the tracks don't built a circle. Imo TLG surely wouldn't release such a big City/Town set without a whole tracks circle. But like already said that's perhaps only my opinion. The most I like the warehouse, the awesome black statue of the rider on his horse , the street lamps and the classic cars. Very well done! Klaus-Dieter
-
That's an absolutely awesome entry, Teddy! I really it! The idea is brilliant, the architecture of the buildings is brilliant, the interior of the buildings if brilliant and the accessory and the minifigs fit very well, too, and so it looks very realistic, too! If you overworked the carnaval carriage a bit, added instead of the table with the seats a bed in the second floor of the yellow building and included not that many and different minifigs it could well be an official Lego set - and I really would buy it! The most I like the interior of the carnaval store, the ancient red house (although imo it looks more like a town hall or a bank than a restaurant) and the yellow house - a great mixture of ancient and modern buidlings! Very, very well done! Klaus-Dieter
