  1. Thank you very much for this information, -The Hyphen-! I'm not that worried about that news: "Castle" is the best name TLG can use for the Castle theme since with this name all people around the world can connect the most. Knights and all the other names are for people for which English isn't the mother language not that known than Castle. So I bet that TLG won't change the name. The only thing I can imagine is that - if TLG discontinues the current "Castle" line in 2010 but then comes back with a new Castle theme in 2011 - they'll use a new emblem and different colors and typefaces. Only if they released a new Forestmen theme or Ninja theme (which is both imo very unlikely) I could imagine that TLG wouldn't name them "Castle" but "Robin Hood" and "Ninja". Klaus-Dieter
  2. Hello everybody! I really like the architecture and the exterior design of the CC styled buildings but do really not like that these buildings do only include very few interior and mainly that they have closed backwalls. So I took some time last week and built following MOC which is a combination between CC styled building and regular City building and which shall show that buildings in the style of CC style could be used for City very well if only they included no backwalls: Cafe de Paris In the center of Lego City there is the famous street cafe named "Cafe de Paris": The box art: The minifigs included: young girl, boy with skateboard, grandfather with walking stick, waitress with two big ice creams and grandmother with bicycle: Have a skateboard ride on the sidewalk, let you bring a cool ice cream or a hot coffee, wait at the bus station for your bus or hang up the washing. The interior: The different floors can be set on top of each other: First floor: cafe: Second floor: ancient living room with chimney: Third floor: children's room: Fourth floor: roof terrace: Come to the Cafe de Paris! Vive la France! Some more pics can be found in this folder (when public) of my BS gallery. Comments are welcome! Klaus-Dieter
  3. That's a great MOC, Yantzl! I really it! It looks very close to the official camper - but the interior is much better (in the official camper there is regrettably nearly no interior although there would be enough place) - toilet and small kitchen! Very well done! Klaus-Dieter
  4. Thank you very much for this information, Wout! So the Repair Vehicle looks similar to the this vehicle from the last fire station - but in different color and without blue lights? Klaus-Dieter
  5. That's a great and very interesting topic, Deinonychus! This poll was last April and I'm sure that the Truck Stop lost it and either the Public Transportation Center or the City Square will make it. Like it was already mentioned there are in every picture sets which already have been released or will be released next spring. For example: The Winter Toy Shop will be released this autumn - so it's very unlikely that we'll get another toy shop included in that TRU Exclusvie. Althought this set is brilliant I'd so much want a regular, non-winterly toy shop which would go with the regular (non-winter) City sets, too. And even remember that there was a side note at this poll which said that not all of the elements shown in the different pictures will actually finally then be included in this set. For example: If the Public Transportation Center won we surely won't get a bus station, a bus, a tram, a tram station, an elevated train, an elevated train station, a hamburger stall and even some additional cycles and cars. Since the awesome Town Plan was firstly released last year and we got the amazing City Corner this summer I bet that TLG will release the Public Transportation Center with an elevated train, two stations, a small hamburger stall, a taxi, a bicycle and some minifigs - let's say a modern remake of the classic Airport Shuttle. Only if TLG released only train sets this summer but no civilian sets the City Square would supposably make it. It may be either the Public Transportation Center or the City Square - if TLG designed them in a classic style (like 10184 or 7641) I surely would like both! Klaus-Dieter
  6. Thank you very much for this information, Wout! To the Small Car: Since TLG already included a male minifigure in the Sports Car it's really a pity that they don't include a female minifigure in the Small Car. There are too less female minifigs in general. To the Repair Vehicle: It's a pity that we don't get a break-down service vehicle (like the most of us suupposably firstly thought). Nevertheless a vehicle to repair the street lampy sounds good, too. Wout, can you please tell us how big the Repair Vehicle is, which color it has and if there is a trailer or not? That would be very nice. To the Traveler Impulse set: In opposite to the first description this set sounds much better since there seem to be more accessories included. I cab't imagine that we'll see only four sets in January (Fire HQ, Fire Boat, Fire Truck and Traveler) but then all the rest of the sets mentioned until now in March. I bet that either the Rapair Vehicle or the Small Car will already be sold in January - and the Piglets Enclosure With Tractor perhaps even firstly in June. Btw: Since the rumoured list of the Star Wars sets for next summer already appeared some weeks ago I really wonder when we'll hear anything about the City summer sets. Klaus-Dieter
  7. Thanks, WhiteFang. Imo the fountain, the boy with his RC cars, the ice skater and the postman with his quadbike are the best parts of this advent calendar. Btw: Do you think that the fountain included in this advent calendar shall show frozen water or regular water? (I only had this thought since all the other contents of teh advent calendar belong to winter.) Klaus-Dieter
  8. That's a great and very interesting topic, lifeinplastic! And there are so many great ideas mentioned! I totally agree with you, Legolinet Pilot - a crop field or at least a garden with some fruits would be great! That's really a lovely idea to have a farm garden with a scarecrow in it! A farm house is indeed absolutely needed! Where else should the family of the farmer live?! A tool shed with a jeep and a horse area are great ideas, too! If TLG continues the Farm theme after next spring I bet that we'll see some sort of horse stable since this is - like the 4wrd With Horse Trailer - a set in which mainly girls are very interested. And since we got a horse trailer it would be strange if we didn't get a horse stable. A chicken coop is a great idea, posades! This could even be a small set for around 10-20 Euros: small chicken coop with enclosure, three chicken, one cock, some food, a pushcart, a shovel, a brush and a farm boy. I totally agree with you, peterab - some more agriculutral machines are absolutely needed! A plough would be a great idea - and a manure barrel and a hay turning machine are all three really necessary! A potato/tomato/... reaper and a vehicle which sprays water or/and weed-killers on the fields would be great, too! A milk truck would be a great idea, lifeinplastic! This would be a great addition to a milk truck, Lordofdragonss! Perhaps a set for around 20 Euros including one cow, a milk machine, a milk truck, a milk bottle, a farmer and a milk truck driver. I totally agree with you, Wout - an orchard with an apple tree, perhaps even a cherry tree, some vegetables, a green house and a grandmother would be lovely! I totally agree with you, Macoco and Bonaparte! Like it seems the Farm sets are sold very well and not only we are enthused on these sets. And even if every second set included a tractor: Think about how kids are keen on tractors - there can never be enough of them. Imo this theme is even a great possibility to get girls interested in Lego (City), too. TLG really managed and still manages to design Farm sets that are interesting for boys and girls - for boys mainly the vehicles and for girls mainly the animals and minifigures. I bet - and of course hope - that the Farm theme will last for at least 2011 since there are so many ideas for sets which could be done! Surely there won't be a whole wave every year (like this year) - but one or two set a year plus one small set or Impulse set are imo realistic. Since we'll get the great Piglets Enclosure With Tractor set and the Farmer Impulse set in spring I could even well imagine that we'll see another medium-sized set in summer. Klaus-Dieter
  9. Thank you very much for this great review, WhiteFang! I voted for Above Average. Cons: - useless policeman and street cleaner minifigures - no female minifig - Christmas tree includes too little Christmas tree ballls Pros: - nine minifigs in total - three civilian minifigs - including even a kid! - a lot of useful and nice stuff - esp. the fountain and the market stands are - the postman's quadbike is very useful, too I'm really looking forward to this year's advent calendar. Although last year's advent calendar included a lot of great and useful stuff, too, I prefer the 2009 advent calendar over the one from 2008. Klaus-Dieter
  10. This is an awesome MOD, Legoliner Pilot! I really it! Although I do normally not like civilian cars in yellow color (imo yellow color should only be used for post cars and taxis) I must admit that this one does really look fine! Very well done! Btw: What about a white and black version?! Klaus-Dieter
  11. Ok, thanks, Lordofdragons! Now I think I understand: The different parts for the minifig included in one Minifigure set don't fit together (in one set e. g. Clown hair piece and Black Falcon Torso). So you have to buy minimum two or even more different Minifigure sets in order to get three complete minifigs which fit together (e. g. for a Clown and a Black Falcon). Or do you as a buyer not know exactly which pieces are included in the set you buy (e. g. like in a "kinder surprise egg")? Are there only the minifig parts included or even some accessory (like in the regular Impulse sets)? Klaus-Dieter
  12. Thank you very much for this information, Lordofdragons! It's a pity that they use the regular plaid torso for the traveler and not a bit more exceptional torso. From what you told us the Small Car seems to be great - I really like to hear that it include car doors and thatit's not again in yellow color! Did you see the minifigure included in this set? The Minifigures sounds great, too! Black Falcons and even a clown! (Hopefully they then won't be as absolutely overprized as the exclusive Vintage Minifigure Collections. ) Only that I don't misunderstand you: There are 2 different packs - each with 10 different minifigs included you can put together how you like to? Klaus-Dieter
  13. As great additions to the great Farm theme I'd like to see: Tractor With Log Loader and (the important thing would be not the tractor but the hay turning machine) Plus - since now we'll be getting green car doors with the Tank Truck - following set would be great: Forester's High Seat a high seat including a green all-terrain vehicle, a gun, binoculars, a suitcase and a deer minifig: forester And of course all set wishes mentioned here and here would be awesome! Klaus-Dieter
  14. Thank you very much for these links to the pics, ForceMaster! The new AT-AT Driver looks great! If TLG does in the final version of the Snowtroopers BP again take the regular common Imperial Officer suit and pass it of as an Imperial Commander I'll be getting really angry! For what do we need a new styled helmet for the AT-AT Driver (the old one was really ok) but we do not get a single new officer torso?! Klaus-Dieter
  15. Thank you very much for these links to the pics, ForceMaster! Thank you very much for this information, Lordofdragons! These two Impulse sets sound really good! I'm a bit disappointed that TLG doesn't design a second torso for the farm theme since it's getting a bit strange to have that many people working on your farm which all where the same clothes. But nevertheless it's great to get a farmer Impulse set with an extra piglet and a traveler as an Impulse set. Is the traveler a male or female traveler and what does he or she wear? Btw: Have you seen pics of the Small Car, the Repair Vehicle and the Minifigures, too, and can describe them to us? That would be very nice! Klaus-Dieter
  16. Like you can read here there'll be not only a small Western town scene as a Toy Story set but even a Western train. Why does Lego have to release such excellent ideas for Western sets in a licensed theme and does not offer them to us as regular non-licensed sets?! Klaus-Dieter
  17. That's a very nice entry, Captain Zuloo! I really like it! It looks very well desgined - especially since it is your first train MOC! I would have added some train doors to it for more realsim and playability. Otherwise it's very nice since you included a lot of details. Very well done! Klaus-Dieter
  18. Thanks, Captain Zuloo! I firstly wanted to add windows everywhere on the second floor - but there were two reasons why I didn't do that: 1. Since these windows are the old windows which have these clips for the shutters I would have to pass on some of the interior details since there is more space needed. 2. I simply don't have more windows in this color. Thanks, Richie! Indeed my aim was to build a train station which looks similar to the excellent one from 1991 (?) - but with one additional floor and more and modern interior details. Thanks, WhiteFang! Since for me the interior is as much important as the exterior design I wanted to add a complete and interesting interior. So I decided for a book shop and a bistro (which both all bigger train stations include) and for a luggage center and a raoöway control center. Klaus-Dieter
  19. But when you look at the pictures of the event seen on BS and Flickr you can see a white-red plane. The only question is whether this is the seperate Airliner set or a/the plane included in the Airport set. I personally can't imagine that the Big Airport comes without a plane - that would be the first time in decades. Plus think about kids wanting as much playability as possible - so an airport set without plane wouldn't sell very well. And even think about that not all sets shown there were complete - e. g. the Fire Truck was shown theree without boat and trailer. Since I do not like these oversized planes I really would embrace if the Big Airport comes without the plane - then I pehaps might buy it (nevertheless the chance is very low that I'll buy it - but it would be given) since I really like the awesome exterior of the main building and the tower and the small airport vehicle and teh minifigs look great, too! Klaus-Dieter

    City '09?

A question to the fountain included in the advent calendar: Do you think that this shall be frozen water on the fountain or regular water? Klaus-Dieter
  21. You're right, Nohohon - it will surely look great when combined with the big Farm set. So hopefully we'll then get in summer a farmhouse with a small garden, too! And a tractor with a garage and a plough and a manure barrel are necessary, too! These would be sets! Klaus-Dieter
  22. ENTERED Hello everybody! Here is my entry to the Train Tech Contest: Classic Train Station "On track One: The train to Lego City will arrive in three minutes!" Many passengers are waiting on the platform. (picture for entry) But before waiting on the platform for their train there's a lot they could do while waiting inside the station: When arriving at the train station you abandon your luggage: Then you can go into the book shop and buy somthing to read for the long trip: What about a snack, an ice cream or simply somthing to drink before leaving? Before you go to the track where your train arrives you firstly have to look on the screen on which track it arrives: Which do do most of the time not see: The people working in the railway control center in order to that all trains can arrive and departure how it shall be: This station is - like the name already says - a classic train station and so is build in ancient architecture: There are columns and decorations: Some more pics can be found in this folder (when public) of my BS gallery. Comments are welcome! Klaus-Dieter
  23. Thank you very much for that much clearer picture, Earendir! I'm a bit disappointed about the enclosure itself: on the blurry picture it looked much better than now on the clear one - a bit very simple in design. Otherwise: The feeding throughs seem to be the covers of treasure boxes - funny idea but nevertheless it looks good! The piglets look lovely and the two minifigs included are fine, too. The tractor and the trailer are very well designed. Klaus-Dieter
  24. No, surely not, BatBrick. I even like SW OT, medieval Castle sets (like hte awesome 10193 MVV), Pirates and even some other sets. And - like already mentioned - the minifigs of PoP are all really awesome! But the sets have to have an acceptable level. A Bstrange looking brick-built inside of a mountain and an versized chain saw doesn't make for me an interesting and acceptable set! But I thought that we'll see a comeback of the great scimitars of the Orient Expedition theme and not that orc swords. And I thought that we'll see some Arabian buildings, some dessert landscape, perhaps an oasis, ... Since I'm not familiar with the computer game I supposably awaited to much. Klaus-Dieter
