I totally agree with you, BlueBard! Hopefully ... Perhaps in next year's City summer sets? Otherwise you could even take the key ring away and add a regular hair piece to her. Klaus-Dieter

Thank you very much for this pic, badboytje88! No, I haven't seen this key chain before - the female minfigs looks really ! Perhaps it's an exclusive minifg you get only during a short period when ordering via S@H for a defined price (like the golden minifigure key chain this July). But I highly doubt that this means a start of a new Belville theme. Belville includes always bigger figs and not the regular minifigs. And I highly doubt that TLG will release a new kind of Paradisa theme - the new City sets include many elements trying to catch the interest of today's girls (of whom the most no longer need and want pink buildings). I totally agree with you, Section8! CC styled buildings are no City sets (they are Factory/Creator sets) and so they do not fit (because of their closed backwalls, there size in general and their very few interior) with the regular City sets. I totally agree with you, Macoco! Indeed a new Fire Boat doesn't make much sense when there isn't anything to rescue and/or no fire to eliminate. So we definately need some harbor buildings, docks and of course boats and ships! A yacht harbor would therefore be a great possibility! I think it was already mentioned - but this topic is already that big so it's very hard to not oversee something. A hotel would be awesome! I totally agree with you that the hotel in the Main Street wasn't that a courser. It did not include any interior, was too small and the color (blue) doesn't fit very well, too. (I only bought the Main Street (S@H version) because of the great garage and the popcorn stand and the lovely minifigs.) A hotel has to be three floors big, in tan, yellow or white color and include great interior! So a new hotel or motel is absolutely necessary! In this point I have to disagree with you because of several reasons, Section8: 1. To my knowledge Vestas came to TLG and asked them for making a promo set for them - not TLG came to Vestas and asked whether they would like a Lego promo set. 2. Why should an oil rig and/or oil port have to be a promo or licensed set?! TLG uses today the Octan symbol for everything that has to do with energy and oil. So they could use it for an oil tanker and an oil rig, too. 3. Oil is not only used for making energy. It is even used for all products made out of plastic and for fuel. So how should Lego sets been transported with planes and trucks to the toy shops without fuel - and so even without oil?! And how should the bricks be packed in several plastic bags inside the cartons without plastic - and so even without oil?! And finally: how should bricks be made without plastic - and so even without oil?! - Like you can see, when you think until the end you become aware that Lego (or at least the bricks) wouldn't and even aren't aibke to exist without oil. So there is imo nothing to argue against an oil rig and oil port since oil is needed for many other necessary things - and not only in order to produce energy with a high carbon dioxid (and other toxics) emission. Some skyscrapers - or at least one - would be really cool to have for our Lego Cities. But I fear that TLG will never release one or some. On the other hand we have been surprised with that many awesome City sets this and last year we never could have thought about - so nearly everything is possible. I, too, wouldn't be averse to Space Port in the style of the mid-90 sets coming back. But imo firstly TLG should come back with harbor and train sets and should release many civilian sets! Thank you very much for the pics, Whung and Alywin, for the links to more pictures, Rick, and for the price information, Alywin! Regrettably the two sets in which I take the most interest - the Small Car and the Repair Vehicle - can not be seen very well. And the two Impulse sets don't appear on the pics. Neverthelss here a short comment on the sets about which we hadn't pictures til yesterday: Airliner: nothing special, looks very similar to the one from 2006 - but the small yellow vehicle is very nice Fire Helicopter: great design - but the truck as well as the heli are much too big Fire Truck With Boat: great design - but the truck is much too big Rapair Vehicle: nice desgin with car doors and a additional street lamp and dustbin Small Vehicle: great design - looks like a Smart - it's a pity that not a female minifig comes with it (Since the prices for these sets seem to be very similar to this year's sets I bet that the Small Car will be 8 Euors.) Regrettably we don't get any civilian (non-Airport, non-Trains and non-Fire) buildings in the first half of 2010. So hopefully we'll see than some in the summer wave! Btw: The Fire Boat is more expensive than I hoped. On the other hand it's really very big so the price is supposably justified if TLG hopefully didn't forget to put much interesting interior inside. Klaus-Dieter

Thanks, WhiteFang! And thank you ver much for putting it on Classic-Town-Net - great article! Thanks, Mariko! Indeed the CC style could have open backwalls and then be used for regular City very well - that's what I wanted to show. Klaus-Dieter

Looking at the interior pictures on S@H and the 360 degree zoom (it's great that TLG added this to the newer sets because you can see the interior, too, and then decide whether you'll buy the set or not - and not being disappointed when you buy it and it includes nearly no interior) I must say that the interior is awesome - a big chimney, a cash point (great that TLG didn't forget that!) and a working table for the shop owner upstairs! Simply ! I'm glad that I ordered it and hope that it'll arrive next week (although I firstly will open it in the end of Nov. or in the first half of Dec.). I exactly thought that, too, Alywin! If TLG didn't plan to release more sets in this winter style they surely wouldn't have added this sentence to the set description since it would otherwise make absolutely no sense. So it's very supposably that we'll get minimum one more winter set! The only bad thing is that we very supposably have again to wait one year for it. Klaus-Dieter

Thank you very much for this price information, Future 74! Since the prices on this website seem to be lower than when you buy the sets regular (at least in Germany) the prices will surely be higher. And since the Rebeltroopers BP includes a big vehicle and the Snowtrooper BP a lot of accessory I bet that they'll be (each one) 15 Euros (the price for which the Rebel Scout Speeder and the Imperial Dropship are sold at the moment). It's strange that the Landspeeder doesn't appear on this list. So I conclude that it'll be a special set which will be not available in every toy shop and which will firstly come out in March (like this year's Ashoka's Starfighter). Klaus-Dieter

I telephoned S@H this morning and asked whether 10199 is aible to buy via S@H, too. (Asking is always not incorrect! ) The friendly woman at the phone said yes and so I ordered it. (Strangely that it's not yet on the website.) So I have great news for you: The 10199 Winter Toy Shop will be 59,99 Euros (for Germany)! I did really not think that it'll be 90 Euros (that would have been usury), 80 Euros would have been expensive but I bet that it'll be 70 Euros. 60 Euros - that's what I call a good price ratio performance! Klaus-Dieter

That's a great MOC, Mariko! I really it! Especially the interior looks very well designed and realistic! I agree with Rick that you should add some tumbler(s) or some other symbols on top of the shop in order to that you can see from far away that there is a soda shop. Very well done! Klaus-Dieter

Thank you very much for this great review, Clon O'Patra! I voted for Excellent since this set is simply excellent. You get everything a knight on horseback needs: -a knight with full armor and helmet to open -sword, lance, buckler and crossbow -horse with saddle It's a pity that TLG stopped these small sets with only one knight and a horse included! Klaus-Dieter

I totally agree with you, Sir Dillon. Both topics are great! But it's really a bit difficult to choose where to comment and where not to comment when you want to comment on a special subject relating WW. So the best thing would indeed supposably be to close one of these topics. But please add a link (in the first page of the topic you keep open) to the then closed topic since there are surely people who want to read the comments in the closed topic, too (but when searching a topic you only find it very difficult). Thanks. Klaus-Dieter

Thank you very much for this information, Bruce! Btw: This Dutch website says that the Winter Toy Shop will be 90 Euros. Since there are many other "Factory" sets on this site which are more expensive than e. g. in Germany I hope that it will be less expensive. It's without doubts a brilliant set - but 90 Euros would nevertheless be usury! Klaus-Dieter

Since we got the hint of an AT-AT set for next year already now, since there's this year's exclusive City set firstly out in October (which means that imo another exclusive City set already in January is not very likely), since the Castle Exlusive was firstly released in January (which means that imo another exclusive Castle set next year is not very likely (the period between 10184 and 10199 is nearly two years!), since the Pirates theme will be discontinued next year (which means that imo an exclusive Pirates set is excluded) and since the two Hoth BPs will be released in January: May the AT-AT be an Exclusive already released in the beginning of 2010? Klaus-Dieter

Since we haven't got yet neither a review nor any pics of the interior of the awesome 10199 Winter Toy Shop I can well imagine that it will be shown at BrickCon. But the last years only one exclusive set was shown at BrickCon. So this could mean that we'll see no exclusive set (neither from City nor from any other theme) in January. What do you think? Klaus-Dieter

These are great ideas, Macoco and Mission Commander! I really do not understand why TLG is always coming back with its "non-civilian" themes (meaning fire, police, construction site, emergency, airport and trains) - like in 2010, too - whereas there is so much which could and should be done as civilian sets! If TLG released the Public Transportation Center as the exclusive TRU set in next summer I bet that it'll include an elevated train with two stations and a hamburger stall. If TLG released the City Square as the exclusive TRU set in next summer I could well imagine that there'll be a hotel and an ice cream stand or a taxi station included. So both would be a win! Nevertheless civilian sets which even include civilian buildings should be sold as regular sets, too! So I could imagine that we'll see a post office and a bank in 2011 - hopefully (next year)! Here are two ideas which I think haven't been mentioned in this topic before: Recycling Truck With Recycling Station 20-25 Euors Keep your Lego City clean! truck with crook to load and unload the truck with the recycling containers (similar to 6668) including a green recycling container (8 long, 6 wide and 4-5 tall, with opening on two sides to throw the garbage inside), a brown recycling container, a shovel a brush and some garbage minifigs: woman and recycling truck driver Public Works Center 90 Euros Plan how Lego City shall grow and take care of your streets and public buildings in Lego City! (an updated version of 6383) public works center building (first floor: two garages with rolling gates, entrance and small room for storing tools; second floor: two offices), big gate and grit silo including a snow plough, an equipment car for road building and repairing, a small car for the boss of the public works center, a trailer with warn lights on its back (to show that there is a construction side and that you have to drive carefully), grit and a lot of tools minifigs: boss of the public works center, female secretary and three workers Klaus-Dieter

That's a great and very interesting topic with a lot of great ideas and great stories, TheBrickster! Sorry for firstly commenting on this topic now - how could I only miss it?! These are all great ideas mentioned until now! And of course a saloon, a Western train with train station, a stage coach, a post office and a farm/ranch are the sets TLG really should release and has to release if they came back with the Wild West theme! Here are some ideas I think which haven't been mentioned before in this topic: cowboy/civilian sets: grizzly bear attacking a forest hut lumberjack's camp ranger with packhorse town hall cableway from one to another hill, with the sheriff in one cablecar chasing bandits in the second car "Western Town Plan" with town hall, saloon, post office, stage coach, seperate horses, mayor with wife, barkeeper, post officer, coachman, cowboy and bandits settler family with covered wagon Indian sets: some bandidts attacking an Indian fishing canoe tribal chief's burial with bier Indians' buffalo hunt medicin man's tipi army sets: US/CS army sick bay with tents CS soldiers with covered wagons, frontier patrol and fort ghost town sets: ghost cowboys attacking a rangers' camp graveyuard ghost train minifigs: Indian kids settler men, women and kids ghost cowboys animals: grizzly bear Klaus-Dieter

E. g. here. @ ColonelStrider: Please don't open a new topic for this news. We have got several topics in the subforums as well as one main topic where you can post information and comments to new sets. Welcome to EB! Klaus-Dieter

Great brick-version, Yantzl! The place inside is used maximum for great interior! Klaus-Dieter

That's an absolutely awesome MOC, Ralph_S! I really it! With it's perfect style and size and the many details you added to it it looks absolutely realistic! If only TLG offered us a (sailing) yacht, too! Very, very well done! Btw: Does it have an interior, too? Klaus-Dieter

Thank you very much for this advise, Legoliner Pilot! The next time when I'll save the pics I'll think about it. I only hope that BS allows .png, too, otherwise it doesn't work. That's a really good idea, Rick! I did not think about using 1 stuck wide windows in the third floor. Thanks, TheBrickster! Interior is - like you already know - something very important for me when looking at City/Town sets. I'm glad to hear that you like it. Cafe Heidelberg? I think that many Lego fans around the world couldn't imagine what that should be - pluas the german name. No, a french or english name is always better since Lego is international, too. Otherwise it's a neat idea! In principle I did not think very much about which name to use for this cafe. I only thought that with the terrace you can find in many street cafes it could be found in Paris, too - and doesn't Cafe de Paris sound good for an expensive street cafe where you can get the best and most delicious coffee and ice cream in whole Lego City?! Klaus-Dieter

Thanks, jeroend! I like the park garage very much, too. Although it was released about 20 years ago it still looks very modern and up-to-date. Again thank you very much for this advise, TheBrickster! This evening I built up some road plates, the park and the awesome 10184 Town Plan - and indeed it looks better when the cinema and the town hall are swaped. It would be great if TLG released one other building in ancient architecture (similar to the town hall) which would look perfect next to the town hall - and a cafe or big store which would look perfect next to the cinema - and a grocery next to the bus stop. Here is my updated "preliminary" town plan for next year (in principle it's already for this year since there are no new sets in comparison to now): I decided to remove the wind turbine and the Main Street: the wind turbine doesn't fit at the place it was placed (but I already stated that the only reason why I put it there was that I really like it and so wanted to show it in my layout, too) and imo the main street better fits in some more suburban area. Comments are welcome! Klaus-Dieter

Thanks, samthelegoman1! I did not add stairs since there have never been stores inside Town/City buildings. Plus imo stairs only take the place away which could be much better used for interesting interior. Thanks, Rick! You mught be right with the bit blocky look. I firstly wanted to add very small windows to the third floor but then thought that this wouldn't look well. Plus in the Cafe Corner building these big windows are used, too. So I added them to the third floor. Which windows would you use for the third floor? Thanks, BlueBard! To the special french architecture: The name I gave this my MOC is perhaps a bit mistakable: I simply wanted to build a small cafe. The name doesn't say anything about the architectual design in which the house is build - otherwise e. g. all Greek restaurants would have to be placed in houses which look like typical ancient Greek houses. The main reason why I named it Cafe de Paris was because of the terrace and that it is a street cafe. To the minifigs: I thought that some specific minifigures which don't come with the regular City sets would make it more interesting - so I necessarily wanted to include a grandfather and a grandmother and a kid. I'm glad to hear that you like this selection. Thanks, Legoliner Pilot! Yes, I did make the first imagine with Microsoft Paint. I can say you: it was some hours of hard work only for that one picture - if I had known that before ... Thanks, TheOtters! Adding some balconies and/or some window shutters is a great idea! The only problem with the window shutters is that there would be that then less windows. But some balconies surely would work very well! Klaus-Dieter

That's an awesome MOC, Legoliner Pilot! I really it! The exterior as well as the interior look perfect! You thought about everything a bank necessarily needs: an ATM out- and inside, a counter, a safe, jewels, bills, suitcases and a banker! Only three thoughts: I'd put in one more minifig (either a female civilian or even better a bank robber), I'd add a glas wall in front of the counter towards the customers and a second floor with a bank office (where you talk to a banker when you want to know what you can do with your money). These are only three ideas which would be very nice to have included - but which are not absolutely necessary for a Lego bank. I mainly like the many accessory you included and the interior in general! This is really a set TLG could and should release! Very, very well done! Klaus-Dieter
-
That's an amazing MOC, SlyOwl! I really it! The architecture of the house as well as all the accessory and additional stuff you added looks all very realistic! I mainly like the cup of coffee the old man has in front of him on the table and the vending machine. Very, very well done! Btw: How did you build the vending machine? Could you please show us a detailed picture of it? That would be really nice. Klaus-Dieter

Yes, but a bit smaller. Thank you very much for this information, Wout! I really like to hear that it is smaller since in the size of the fire truck I mentioned above it would be much too big. And the street lamps aren't that tall that there is such a long ladder needed. I can't await to see some pics of the still missing sets. Klaus-Dieter
