I voted for YES I do want weaponry and moderated violence even in the City theme. What I do not want is "hard" violence like military stuff. But moderated violence is imo ok. Which kid wouldn't be very happy to get a bank robbery set?! Plus in nearly other theme there exist violence and weaponry - the majority of themes even wouldn't exist without them. And nearly all kids which are in the age to play with City sets are regrettably confronted with violent computer games and movies anyway. So some moderated violence in City sets would surely not make them getting criminal. In contrast, some moderated violence would even attract the interest of those kids. The only reduction for weaponry and moderated violence I would call for would be to keep it in the Police subtheme. I really would like to see TLG releasing: -a bank robbery (pistol (for bank robber) -a police tank -a police water cannon -a SWAT unit (guns (for sharp shooters), pistols and machine pistols) -riot police officers (batons and trans-clear bucklers) -pistols for police officers and bandits That would be totally awesome! More I don't need. Klaus-Dieter

Thank you very much for this set list, KimT! Since I only collect non-UCS OT sets I'm really disappointed that there is no single OT set on this list. Since it's that long ago that we saw the classic OT fighters like X-Wing, TIE Fighter and MF and since there are still that many sets which haven't been done yet (like a Bantha set, a Yavin Base, a decent Mos Eisley Cantina, ...) I would have bet that there'll be two OT sets out in Jan./Febr. 2011. Hopefully there'll be at least one OT set for the first 2011 wave. Klaus-Dieter

Hello everybody! Since many years Playmobil has been releasing a lot of City/Police sets including violence and/or weaponry - e. g. nearly every police officer has a pistol, the police station includes guns and batons, there are burglars and there are even some sort of SWAT men. Since the fact is that Playmobil is even released for much younger kids than Lego, the question appears why TLG doesn't do these sets, too. And would you like to get sets similar to those from Playmobil? Please vote. Comments are welcome! Klaus-Dieter

I've got a theory about the Kingdoms theme and a possible new historical theme: If TLG does the new Kingdoms theme like they did the previous "Castle" theme we might see for 2011 and 2012: 2011: january Exclusive: City Square spring: Pirates of the Caribbean summer: new fraction for Kingdoms like forest men or barbarians 2012: january Exclusive: UCS Caslte or MVV add-on spring: new historical theme: Western or Romans summer: only a few Kingdoms sets combining all previous sections from 2010 and 2011 What do you think? Thanks KristofBD. I originally wanted to add a round brown roof to the beach bar. But since this part doesn't exist but for the contest only exisiting parts were allowed, I wasn't allowed to do so. Klaus-Dieter

LEGO Collectable Minifigures General Discussion
Klaus-Dieter replied to Nabii's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Here in Germany series 2 is not yet available (at least not in the regular toy shops). It's said to be available either after the middle of this month or in September. Klaus-Dieter -
Rumours might appear in Oct./Nov. and the first blurry pics then in Dec./Jan. - at least this was the case with the most of the second half of the year sets in the last years. Klaus-Dieter

Thank you very much for this information, KimT! Imo it's very likely that we'll get two new CW BPs next year since the last years there was always one year CW/PT BPs and one year OT BPs. But I don't think that there'll be only three figs in the BPs from now on - already with four minifigs they are not cheap. I think it's very likely that with the new Boba Fett and the new Han minifigures and the new carbonite block we'll see a new Cloud City next year. But I fear that we'll still have to wait until nearly one year until we'll get confirmation of this set since it'll be an Exclusive and consequently will firstly be released in Sept./Oct. 2011. Btw: I'm still hoping for a small or medium-sized set with Tusken Raiders and a Bantha. Chances are imo good since for the 30 years cellebration of ROTJ there surely has to be done a new Jabba mold for a big Jabba's Palace set - and TLG does surely not make two huge molds in one year. Klaus-Dieter

Thank you very much for this great review, KimT! The Hoplite looks perect! I'll only buy one since there is no Greek theme for which I can use it - but one I want. Klaus-Dieter
-
Supposably you're right, Fugazi. But then they could at least release a small winter town hall (similar to the one in 10184 - but with wooden colors and snowy roof). And a small Christmas market would be nice, too. Klaus-Dieter

Thanks BrickClick. Yes, I wanted to desgin it in the currently used "modular" style of the City sets like 7641 or 8403 - namely with open backwalls but nevertheless with removeable floors. Thanks Artifex. It was indeed my aim to include as much playability as possible and at the same time design it as much realistic as possible in order to make this theoretically possible set appealing to AFOLs as well as JFOLs. Of course, lightningtiger - how could I forget this! But I fear that we won't see a ski lodge and ski/chair lift - whether PFed or not - in the winter theme since this would effort a very, very big and expensive set (for surely not under 100 Euros). Nevertheless that might be (like a winter train with station) possible - nobody knows whether TLG only plans to release winter sets the next years in every time similar set sizes and prices or not. Plus I still hope that there'll be either a hospital or a mountain rescue theme in 2012. If there will be a mountain rescue theme in 2012, this might even turn out as a winter oriented theme which then might hopefully include some civilian contents like a snow mower and a ski lodge and a power functioned ski/chair lift up/down a slope, too. Klaus-Dieter

I really hope so, TheBrickster! Very likely my petition and our report to TLG last Sept./Oct. was - although there was a huge agreement amongst many Lego fans in this and in other forums - too late for planing a Western theme already in 2011. TLG very supposably already had bought the license for Pirates of the Caribbean and the other new theme (?NinjaGo) was already decided to be released in 2011, too. But they now had and still have enough time to develop some great Western sets for 2012. Let's hope! Klaus-Dieter

I'd really like it if TLG included in the winter set next year as "landscape" (10199: Xmas tree and bench with lantern; 10216: lake) a small slope with snowboarder(s). It's that difficult and expensive to get those snowboards - so TLG really should release some new ones. What do you think? Klaus-Dieter

Thank you very much for this great review, pinioncorp! I voted for above average. Con: -only two passengers -no train doors -much too small transfers between the waggons -much too short platform -wall between driver's cab and the room of the passengers -no toilet included Pro: -great colors -awesome design -great interior with enough places to sit -signal as an extra bonus All in all this is definately an above average passenger train because of its awesome style and the addiotional signal. It looks much, much better than the totally <insert that tiresome argument> ICE style passenger train from 2006! Klaus-Dieter

I totally agree with you, Oky Wan Kenobi! But the name "NinjaGo" does give us a hint that it will nearly hundred percently be no historial theme. Why should they otherwise add the "Go" to it?! (The new Kingdoms theme isn't called KingGo or KnightGo, too.) Plus - like already mentioned - there'll very likely be already two historical themes (PotC and Kingdoms) in 2011. So another, third historical theme is very, very unsupposably. And that TLG stops Kingdoms already after one year is absolutely unlikely, too. So "NinjaGo" might include some historical contents - but all in all it'll be some action/sf theme (like World Racers). Done. Klaus-Dieter
-
I completely agree with you, Orge. But there is one problem: What about those people (like me) which didn't buy the Winter Train as long as it was available?! Of course you can buy it via ebay etc. - but there it is much too expensive. Plus think about how awesome a new winter train could be - if done correctly - with the in the Emerald Night included new locomotive pieces. Plus a winter train station is really needed, too. So - like I already mentioned - I would like to see: 2011: winter candy shop with small slope (60-70 Euros) 2012: winter train (with PF stuff) and winter train station (150-200 Euros) 2013: winter chapel and winter hotel (60-100 Euros) Klaus-Dieter

Hello everybody! Since we've got now reviews and/or pics of all SW sets released this year, I thought it would be interesting to know which your favourite SW set of 2010 is. So please vote. Comments are welcome! Klaus-Dieter

Thank you very much for this new picture, grogall! It's nice to see that there'll be a baguette included and that the minifig next to the wife on the lake will not be a man but a kid. Hopefully we'll see some pics of the interior soon. Klaus-Dieter

Now I remember that TheBrickster mentioned somewhere some time ago that there were rumours that Playmobil is going to release a Mexican theme in 2012. And since it's not seldom the case that Playmobil and Lego release similar themes in one and the same year, perhaps we've got the luck to get a new Western theme in 2012. I really hope so! Btw: For those who haven't already joined, please take part in the Petition to bring back the Western theme - thanks. Klaus-Dieter
-
Thank you very much for this information, ZeeK! I personally fear that it'll be not a historical theme - like the Ninja theme from 2000 - but some sort of action theme (more something like Exoforce - but with ninjas vs. robots/animals/fantasy creatures etc.). Reason: It is imo very, very unlikely that TLG either stops Kingdoms already after one year or that they release two medieval themes (Kingdoms and ninjas) in one and the same year. Klaus-Dieter

I totally agree with you, Oky Wan Kenobi, which cocerns PoP, PotC and World Racers. There surely will be a second wave for World Racers, Pirates of the Carribean will be a new licensed theme and Prince of Persia will be discontinued. But I think that Toy Story will get some new sets in 2011 again. Anout Harry Potter I'm not that sure - I'd say the chance to get some more HP sets in 2011 is 50:50. Klaus-Dieter

LEGO Collectable Minifigures General Discussion

I could well imagine those four new minifigs comming with following accessory: Indian Chief: lance with feathers Gorilla: banana Hawaii Girl: suncream Alien: space gun What do you think? Klaus-Dieter -
Thank you very much for this great review, TheCobra! I voted for outstanding  since this set includes everything (apart from ice-cream pieces) an open-air ice-cream parlor has to include. And there is even a lot more: cups and a bicycle. It would be great if TLG released a new ice-cream parlor like this one - or even better in a closed shop building. Klaus-Dieter
