Thank you very much for the clear pics of the bank and the police chase set, The Red Brick! To summarize the new Police wave: I really like the big palette of new police sets - there's a police set in every size and price range. I mainly like that there even come some more civilian oriented sets with the police wave (the police chase and mainly the bank) - that's really great! Which I don't like is that there are - apart from the bigger police car in the police station and the cars in the police truck set - no car doors included in the cars. 2010 TLG did a really good job with including car doors in nearly every car they released (which adds more playability for kids and more authenticity for adults). To argue about stickers: Stickers can be glued on car doors, too. So concerning cars (at least the ones included in the new Police wave), 2011 is a big step backwards. Btw: The buildings and vehicles included in that TV commercial look to me much too MOC stylish than that they could be official sets. But I hope that we'll get some pics of the summer City sets soon (if I remember right, last year we got them at Christmas Eve). Klaus-Dieter

Thank you very much for this information, Beetlejuice! If this info is real: Goats: Sheep would have been better. But nevertheless great to get some new animals. Chicken: I don't know why we need some molded chicken. Imo the brick-built one in the MVV was really ok. Plus chicken and cock always belong together. So it would be bad to get molded chicken but no cock. Klaus-Dieter

Again about the Ewok Attack set: Since it's more or less clear that the person which gave us the information about three Ewoks and two Scout Troopers being included can not be taken seriously. So I nevertheless bet - and hope - that there'll be an Endor Luke included. Of course Luke was during the Battle of Endor on the DS. But the past shows us that TLG does not always include minifigs and elements which fit hundred percently in exactly the according scene of the movie(s) (e. g. Hoth Han wasn't on his Tauntaun during the Battle of Hoth (at this time his Tauntaun was already dead) - and nevertheless the Echo Base set from 2009 included him with his Tauntaun). And since we haven't had a fleesh Endor Luke yet and since he's the main character it's imo very unsupposably (and would be bad) him being included in a regular (small) BP, it's very likely that he'll be included in this set. I hope that we'll get pics soon (last year it was at Christmas Eve I think) to know which is now really included and which not. Klaus-Dieter

Thank you very much for those pics of Space sets, Brickviller, and for those pics of the bank and the police chase set, lightningtiger! Space Shuttle It does now look much better - but only one astronaut included is definately too little. Moon Buggy I do not like it. To me it looks much too <insert that tiresome argument>. Small Satellite Launch Platform It looks amazing! Space Center It looks amazing, too! the only thing I don't like is the small vehicle. To me it seems to be useless since there is no cargo bay where there could be stored cargo to transport it. I wonder whether there'll be some interior in the rocket. But I fear that there won't be. Police Chase The radar control is a great idea. And I even like the police car and the female police officer. What I don't like is the police trike (reminds me of Town Jr.) and that the traffic offender's car is a cabriolet, that it's in red and that both cars include no car doors. We already have got that many civilian cabriolets - we need a civilian car with roof, with car doors and in blue, black or grey color! But all in all it's a set packed full with action elements and so great for kids. Bank And Money Transfer  That's definately the best 2011 City set I've seen so far! It's great that TLG comes back with a bank that is that much needed for City in general and for the Police theme in special! The architecture of the bank looks amazing! I esp. like the front with the ATM and the rooflight. The interior seems to include a counter downstairs and (supposably) a stronghold upstairs. The flowers make it looking very friendly. The only interior I miss is an office where the bankers try to sell stocks etc. to their customers. The armored truck looks amazing, too! Regrettably it doesn't include car doors and (very supposably) comes with a regular police officer instead of a security officer. The motorcycle is a neat addtion. The police car looks great, too. Regrettably it doesn't include car doors. All in all this is definately an above average til outstanding set! Welcome to EB, TheMagician! There are already even released a bunny, a fish and a parrot. And most of the time there are some new molds made for these big Exclusives - so maybe TLG even releases a new animal for that possible pet shop. Klaus-Dieter

I partly agree with you, Zarkan! On the one hand the exterior of the police station looks amazing. And so do the vehicles and imo even the interior of the prison cells and of the third floor of the main building. But the interior of the first and second floor of the main building is much too empty: no room for questioning and no control room (Ok, there is that big screen. But there are no control panels in addition to it. Plus the chair is far too away from the writing table. And the chair looks more like a comfortable armcair - so completely out of place in a police station.). I'm still waiting for pics or at least information about 3661 and 3648. It's even not a complete month until their supposable release. So when will pics or info finally apear?! Klaus-Dieter

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 4 poll
Klaus-Dieter replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
That's a great and very interesting topic, WhiteFang! This series 4 is completely amazing! Because of this it was very hard to vote for the most favourite minifg in this series since I - apart from the Monster and Frankenstein - like them all nearly the same. But finally I voted for the Bio-Hazard Personnel as the for me favourite minifig of this series. This was one of the wishes I posted here on EB - and I think it's amazing to have some of these guys for your urban fire brigade. The top-5 minifigs of series 4 are for me: - Bio-Hazard Personnel - Skater - Musketeer - Female Ice-Skater - Painter Of the current series I like series 2 the most. Most important for me is the availability of new parts such as torsos, hairpiece, accessories, etc. In this series the most successful torsos are imo: - skater's torso - musketeer's torso - female ice-skater's torso - Kimono girl's torso The best hairpieces are imo: - skater's beanie - bio-hazard personnel's helmet - Kimono girl's hair - soccer player's hair - female ice-skater's hair - sailor cap For accessory imo the most successful in this series are: - e-guitar - black skateboard with printing - painter's accessory - Kimono girl's accessory - bio-hazar personnel's accessory - scientist's accessory - silvern trophy Imo series 4 is not only an improvement over all series before - it simply outguns them without doubts! I only don't like the monster and Frankenstein. And in the Wiking I'm not interested. Apart from these three I fear that I'll have to get all. Keep on giving us that many amazing minifigs and accessory like in this series, TLG! Klaus-Dieter -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 4 discussion
Klaus-Dieter replied to legokuate's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Thank you very much for this picture, Tribolego! Wow, series 4 looks completely amazing! It without doubts outguns all three previous series! That many amazing new torsos and that many amazing new accessory! Bio-hazard personnel, a new skater, a Kimono girl, an e-guitar, an accurate skateboard and the bio-hazard personnel's accessory - I really miss words! Which is imo a pity is that the surfer girl doesn't come with trunks and a bikini - but with a wetsuit. The only minifigs I do not like are Frankenstein and the Monster. Apart from these two - simply outstanding! I bet that the minifigs of this series will be the most sold of all series! I completely agree with you, WhiteFang! The skater from series 1 looks completely different to the one included in series 4. I didn't like it that much that the skater in series 1 had a skull printing on his hoodie. The new hoodie looks much better. Plus there is a new skateboard - finally in black (and not always in that stupid unauthentic blue color) and even with printing on it! And the new beanie looks cool, too. Plus think about that the minifigs of series 1 were shortly sold out. So for all who want more than only one or two skaters but didn't have the chance to get more, there's now the possibility. Btw: Do you think that the exhauster of the bio-hazard personnel is attachable to the "rucksack" - so that the minifig does not necessarily have to hold it all the time? That would be great. Klaus-Dieter -
I completely agree with you, fred67! Since TLG for sure knows that the majority buys magnet sets because of having the minifigs separately, the only reason why TLG nevertheless doesn't stop releasing magnet sets is possible that they in the future could say "Hey, it's not our fault. Even after 2010 we did offer magnet sets - but nearly no one bougth them. So we did stop releasing magnet sets." - but wouldn't mention that the reason why magnet sets weren't bought any more was that the included minifigs were glued to the bases. I hope that TLG won't do so. But reality shows that in politics this way is a common way. Klaus-Dieter
-
This is one of the worst decisions TLG has ever done! I bet that absolute majotiy of people who bought the magnet sets til now (indepedent of which theme the included minifigs were related to), bought them because they want to have some seperate minifigs. So: 1. When TLG isn't anymore allowed to sell SW Magnet Sets with unglued minifigs, they could stop the SW Magnet Sets anyway since I bet that they won't be sold very well anymore (at least I won't buy any in the future since I want the minifigs on their own - and not the magnets). 2. Which is the reason to glue the minifigs of the unlicensed magnet sets to their bases, too?! This way, they won't be sold very well in the future, too (at least I won't buy any in the future since I want the minifigs on their own - and not the magnets). For us AFOLs it's a shame that TLG made this decision. But since we know that now, we can jump to the conlusion to not buy these magnet sets anymore but try to get minifigs via Ebay, BL or others. But imagine a child which is really happy because it got or bought a magnet set and didn't know that the minifigs are glued to the bases. And then it opens the set and wants to take off the minifigs of the beases - but it's not possible ... Klaus-Dieter

I totally agree with you, Ferdik and The Red Brick! A ski lift would - like already mentioned in the Ideas for new City sets topic - be amazing! But since the current Winter line seems to be set in a time about 50-100 years ago (no snow plough, carriage for transporting trees, ski helmet without gloves), I doubt that we'll get one. TLG could do they same like in 10184: designing a church which can - judging from their exterior and interior - even well be a town hall. So it would be open to everyone on his or her own what he or she thinks about it being for a house - achurch or a town hall. I personally even don't need a church - but a small Winter town hall would be a great addition to our Winter villages. Imo that would give the whole Winter line a too much Anglo-American and corny note. The way TLG designed the Winter sets til now, they could be placed in many countries. A limitation to only some countries because of its contents would imo be not that amazing. Apart from that I highly doubt that TLG will release a reindeer mold only for one set (and more than two reindeers in one set is completely unrealistic to get anyway). I wouldn't be that sure about that, Mr. Elijah Timms. TLG can always stop a theme when they want to - even if we think that it'll still go on for years and even if we nevertheless posted a lot of ideas and wishes. (Only look at the Farm theme: There is even a whole seperate topic about ideas for new Farm sets. And when the Farm theme was introduced, the most of us thought that there'll be surely more sets in the future and not that TLG will stop it after 2010.) Plus one fact gives me a lot of secptic that the Winter theme will not continue: Why should TLG release a "large" Winter set before other smaller Winter sets? I fear that this set will be the final set of the Winter series. Nevertheless I hope I'll be wrong since there's still that much we need for Winter (houses)! Klaus-Dieter

Thank you very much for this information, mathewos and The Red Brick! Strange. When I go to Brickipedia and search for 2012, there are no sets listed. That there are set numbers which were already used is today common since there is somewhen a point when TLG doesn't have got any set numbers below 10xxx left. The hospital sets sound realistic. We haven't had a Hospital theme since 2006 - so after 6 years a comeback is supposable. As for the TV sets: I'd highly welcome them! But I highly doubt that we'll get any. On the other hand: If someone told me before August that we'll get some Space Port sets next year, I would have said no, too. And I bet that AFOLs as well as JFOLs would like some TV sets. Apart from that TLG has to release minimum one new theme in 2012 anyway (in Jan. there surely will be again Construction Site, but there are then again the spring wave and the summer wave). As for the Town Hall: It's very unsupposably that TLG is going to release such a set as a non-exclusive (and even non-CC-styled) set. On the other hand it does not necessarily mean that in this set only a town hall will be included. Perhaps it might be some sort of new 7641 with town hall and a shop or kiosk. And keep even in mind that many of the current 5xxx sets are Duplo. So if the rumors on the TV theme are real, these would very supposably be Duplo sets. But at the moment I think it's far too early to speculate. To summarize: All of these rumors sound realistic. And I really would welcome a new Hospital and a TV theme - that would be amazing! But there have been enough rumors of people in the past you had fun to tell us lies. And who should (apart from some few people from TLG) have already now this information and even the set names and numbers? So let's wait til we get confirmation of a more reliable source. I completely agree with you, Mr. Elijah Timms! I only hope that - if TLG releases a winter train with station in 2011 - this won't be the end of the Winter theme - but that TLG after that releases again some Winter houses and sets. Klaus-Dieter

MOC: Mitre 10 Hardware Store and other shops
Klaus-Dieter replied to lightningtiger's topic in LEGO Town
These are excellent houses with excellent interiors, lightningtiger! I really them! I esp. like all these many small details you added to the interior (mainly with the much accessory and the many stickers) - great! The only advise I have would be to add some more interior to the police station - at the moment it looks imo to empty. Apart from that these are outstanding. TLG should engage you as a set builder - then we'd get a lot of civilian houses with a lot of decent and detailed interior! Very, very well done! Klaus-Dieter -
On the one hand it looks very bad for us getting a new Farm set in 2011. On the other hand firstly we (very supposably) don't already know all City sets being released in 2011. So there is still hope that one of them might be a Farm set. And secondly I'm even very sure that we'll see a new Farm set if not in 2011 then in 2012. Reason: Some time ago Ferdik told us that there'll be a Medeival Windmill set (for Kingdoms) next year. There shall be "white pigs" (= very supposably prototypes of sheep in a prelim picture) be included. Until now TLG has never released a new mold for an unlicensed theme which then was only used in one set (the cows were (even in different colors) used in the main Farm set and in MVV; the pigs were used in the Piglets Enclosure set, in the Farmer Impulse, in a HP set and in this year's City advent calendar). So it's highly likely that these sheep will appear in a City set, too. What do you think? I would be very disappointed if TLG stopped the Farm theme already after two years since there is still so much (vehicles and buildings) which has to be released. E. g. Bruder's and siku's farm vehicles sell very well. So why shouldn't more Lego farm vehicles do the same, too?! Klaus-Dieter

Thank you very much for this information, lightningtiger! "Large" depends on which you understand under large - for one already 10199 and 10216 are large, for others only something in a size similar to the Death Star is large. But when we take "large" as large, then I'd understand under this a new Winter set that is larger than 10199 or 10216. And so I'd bet there'll be a Winter Train Station with Winter Train. It's imo the most supposable set we could go for the Winter theme next year anyway since a candy shop would be (thematical and temporal) too near to the bakery (and a pharmacy, town hall or cafe are very supposable not that demanded than a train with station). What do you think? Klaus-Dieter

I telephoned S@H and they told me that 3661 will be available in January. So we don't have to wait til June! And so this even means that there's space for another civilian set in July (like this year's 8403). I bet for a supermarket (I don't know why, but I've got the feeling that it'll be a supermarket). What do you think? Since we've got now confirmation that 3661 is going to be released in Jan., I bet that the information on kiddiwinks that 3648 is going to be released in Jan. is right, too. Klaus-Dieter

That's a great and very interesting topic, StoutFiles! I completely agree with you concerning nearly all sets you mentioned. Nevertheless some changes and additional ideas: Episode 4: Tantive 4 (re-design) with the floor (the most important room seen in the movie) and a minifgure of a black-suited Imperial Officer (not Imp. Captain) Lar's Homestead and Sandcrawler (partly re-design) I regrettably missed the last version of the Sandcrawler Obi Wan's Home and Tusken Raider Attack would imo be better to sold together (because of playability); of course with a Bantha and Tusken Raiders with new head molds Mos Eisley Cantina (re-design) much bigger, more detailed version with many new minifigs (band member(s), barkeeper, Sandtrooper with white shoulder pattern) TIE Fighter (re-design) with grey (instead of blue) stripes and an Imperial Engineer Yavin 4 Base at the best with a re-design of the X-Wing (not a midi-/mini-model!) and many new minifigs Episode 5: Hoth Rebel Base (re-design) much bigger, more detailed version with at least two accurate rooms (control center and medical room) and minifigures of injured Luke and Major Bren Darlin Executor/Imperial Star Destroyer (re-design (if ISD)) with more interior included, seperated rooms, an Imperial Lieutenant and an Imperial Admiral, perhaps even some new bounty hunters (or re-desgins of IG-88 and Dengar) with a construction that does not that simply brake at the best as a 250-260 set to really have it accurate TIE Bomber (re-desgin) with grey stripes (instead of blue), an Imperial Engineer and a transport vehicle Cloud City (re-design) much bigger, much more and seperated rooms inlcuding, many minifigs and minifigs of Ughunauth, silvern 3PO Episode 6: Jabba's Palace (re-design) much bigger, more details and rooms and a decent exterior including and new minifigs (band member(s), new different guards) Jabba's Sale Barge (re-design) since I regrettably missed the last version Imperial Shuttle and Imperial Endor Base (partly re-design) Imperial Shuttle with a gangway and with minfigure of black-suited Imperial Officer (Imp. Captain addionally) Mon Calamari Cuiser (re-design) the whole ship including everything which we already got in the set last year as interior Ewoks' Trap and Ewoks' Village both combined in one set (for more playbility) TIE Interceptor with grey (instead of blue) stripes and an Imperial Engineer I want all these sets as System scale sets. In UCS sets or midi- and mini-scaled sets I'm absolutely not interested. Klaus-Dieter

Thank you very much for this great review, tin7_creations! I voted for Average Con: -no car doors -no "Police" sticker at the back of the car -nothing that overwhelming included Pro: -great small set -good design -fair price I like it that TLG makes this police dog's car seperately available and didn't include it in the police station. So you get the chance to buy some not that expensive extra set and the police station includes two regular police cars. Klaus-Dieter

At the moment nothing is sure considering the price and release date. Since kiddiwinks dates the set for January release, I think it actually is going to be released in January. Against this speaks that we haven't seen any pics of it nor got any set information on it yet. But a picture of and infos on 3222 appeared firstly very late (I even think firstly in the new year), too. And about the price: At kiddiwinks there could be different prices than in Europe/America. So the ca. 630 could be between 40 Euros/Dollars and 60 Euros/Dollars. The number of minifigs brikipedia lists can imo only be true if this set is 40 Euros (like 8403 - but with only two floors and less exterior details - therefore with an armored car). Since we already got information on what there'll be included in the PotC sets - which are going to be released months later - it would be nice if we City fans get info on 3648 and 3661 - which are going to be released much earlier! Klaus-Dieter

Thank you very much for these high-res pics, grogall! Now I really am looking forward to see pics of the interior of the police station. Again about 3661 Bank & Money Transfer: Now I think that another building (even if only very small) is absolutely unlikely to be included. I really hope that the exterior of the bank will be built in ancient architectual style (similar to the bank in 10217 Diagon Valley) - but since it'll be no 10xxx set I highly doubt that it'll be. I could well imagine this set being 50 Euros (like 7641) (and not 60 Euros). So it could include a dark-grey 32x16 baseplate with a two floors big bank (first floor: counter and strongroom, second floor: office), some small details (like a bench, flowers and a bench) outside, an armored van and as minifigs a police officer, the new prisoner minifig, a woman, a kid and a security officer (either with new torso or the one of the World City set). What do you think? Hopefully we'll get pics of this set and the Police Chase set soon - it's already end of november and these sets shall already be available in January! Klaus-Dieter

Imo we shouldn't put our hopes for the "man with safety suit" to high since I fear that this "safety suit" will be a regular warning vest and not a bulletproof vest. Klaus-Dieter -
Here are some more wishes: Mountebank female red headscarf shouting blue frock bill, cherry Hunter male dark-green hat with gatee beard focusing something dark-green jacket, dark-green pants with black boots (printing) gun Party Woman female blond Chearleader's hair friendly black-golden frock trans-clear tumbler Party Man male brown man's wig friendly black smoking trans-clear tumbler Winter Girl female blue-white striped beanie with bobble (similar to this one) laughing pink jacket, white kids' pants shovel, two snowballs Winter Boy male black beanie with visor (similar to this one) jubilating white-black checked jacket, yellow kids' pants black snowboard Klaus-Dieter

I'm very sceptical about that many huge CW sets. In the last years there wasn't more than one huge 250+ Euros/Dollars CW/PT set. So it's imo very unsupposably that this will change. Plus an idea came to my mind: Since there isn't one single regular sold OT set in the first half of 2011: Might it be that there'll be an exclusive 250-260 Euros/Dollars expensive Cloud City set released after NY Toy Fair (like the AT-OT last year)? I hope that series 5 will come with following minifigs: -gladiator -male snowboarder -some kids -mother with baby -e-guitar player These would imo be brilliant minifigs which are really, really missing until now! What do you think that there'll be included in series 5? Klaus-Dieter -
Thank you very much for this information, commanderneyo! I'm really surprised to read that no Endor Luke is included in this set. So maybe TLG plans to include him in the very supposably Jan. 2012 BPs or they are planning to release an Ewok Town or some other Endor set including him. Again a catapult isn't that exciting. Why not a trap or a tree?! Apart from that this sounds to be getting a quite nice set. Klaus-Dieter
