  1. Thank you very much for the link to the video, legomilk and for the price information, grogall! Regrettably you can't see the interior of the post office very well. But at least the interior of the second floor is (like in the winter village bakery) very disappointing. And there is neither a cashpoint nor a computer downstairs. Klaus-Dieter
  2. Thank you very much for this information, Mirandir! a new X-Wing with a new pilot and a new droid sounds great! Hopefully there even will be a small transport vehicle and a small base included. The only thing which is bad is that TLG doesn't include Biggs Darklighter in this set. I'm really looking forward to pics of this and the other OT sets. Klaus-Dieter

Over in this topic, Mirandir gave us some information about upcomming 2012 City sets. So I thought it would be senseful to start an extra topic about that. Thank you very much for this information, Mirandir! Klaus-Dieter
  4. It's really a pity that TLG doesn't release this theme with regular minifigs. Firstly this keeps girls away from the regular City theme since they get their own theme. Secondly this for sure means that we won't get much civilian stuff in the City theme (like cafe, zoo, more farm sets etc.) since these would be sets mainly adressing girls. Klaus-Dieter
  5. Thank you very much for these pics, Alywin and zhancobricks! I don't care about the Minotaur, the Space Woman and the Alien. But the Statue of Liverty, the ghost in a bottle and the genie look good. The Highlander, the mechanic and the female skateboarder are really cool. Only that there are skulls on the sweater and the skateboard doesn't look nice - why not using another symbol?! The most of the until now minifigs I like the butcher - great! I'm really excited which othe six minifigs we'll get and which minifigs there'll be in the waves seven and eight. Klaus-Dieter
  6. Thank you very much for this information, Mirandir and nrg! I'm really surprised that there'll be that many OT sets in the first half of 2012. Hopefully the three remaining OT sets will include some new and amazing minifigs. I don't like it that TLG will combine both factions (Imperials and Rebels) in only one BP. Of course this offers more playability but it even avoids the possibility that we can get great and not that common minifigures in this BP. E. g. I hoped for an Endor Rebel Commander or Endor Luke in a Rebel Endor BP and for a black-suited Imp. Officer or an Imp. Trooper in an Imperial Endor BP. But now that won't happen. Klaus-Dieter
  7. Thank you very much for this information, Mirandir! It's great that we'll get a new ambulance. But since it will be on its own, I highly doubt that there'll be a hospital in the next years - in the past always vehicles and houses came together in one wave. For sure there will even be some construction vehicles. Can you please give us some more information or hints on the first half of 2012 concerning City? That would be very nice. Will there even be some civilian vehicles? Which theme can we await for spring? Klaus-Dieter
  8. Thank you very much for this information, Cwetqo! LotR I only hope that Lego will release some new Kingdoms sets nevertheless. It would be a shame if the Kingdoms theme died already after two years - it's imo one of the best if not the best Castle theme ever! But if there weren't any new regular sold Kingdoms sets in 2012 (which is imo regrettably very supposably due to LotR): Do you, too, think that there is a high possibility that we'll get an exclusive Kingdoms sets in January? I'd go for a big tournament set, perhaps together with some kind of medieval fair. Imo that is since long overdue and would be completely amazing! What do you think? Klaus-Dieter
  9. Yes, but not in this size. I'd more think of the 2006 hospital - only a bit bigger and with regular baseplate, without helicopter and quad, therefore with ambulance. A new hospital theme for sure has to have a new, bigger hospital, a rescue helicopter, an ambulance and a doctor's car or emergency minifigure collection. But from what I've heard, there regrettably doesn't seem to be any hospital theme in 2012. Therefore there will be a never before seen theme which sounds amazing to me. But please don't ask me for more information since I promised not tell. Apart from that I haven't seen any pics nor got detailed set information. Klaus-Dieter
  10. Thank you very much, I Scream Clone for that contest! It's great to finally have after all these years even a contest for WW! And the prices sound very promising, too! Of course I'll take part with building a WW town and a vignette. But I won't build a WW train since I neither have the bricks nor the know-how nor the experience you need for building trains. I'm looking forward to great entries. Klaus-Dieter
  11. Thank you very much for this information, grogall! This sounds like there is some furniture upstairs, too. But it even sounds as if there won't be much furniture (since they extra mention the table and a mug). Klaus-Dieter
  12. Thank you very much for the pictures of the new TIE Fighter, MightyMegs and for the set news, nrg! Finally a new TIE Fighter! Imo it looks quite ok - only perhaps a bit thick with the one stud wide grey markings. I personally don't like the new helmet of the Imp. Trooper - imo the last one fit much better and the new one is too detailed. It's a pity that they include a regular Imp. Trooper and not the Admiral from 10221 or another new kind of officer. But the new droid looks . Although I hope that it will be "only" 40 Euros, I fear that the TIE will be 50 Euros (like the TIE Defender), don't you think? It's great that we get some Endor BPs! I assume that they'll include: Imp. BP: -speederbike -one or two Scouttrooper -two or one Stormtrooper -one Imp. Trooper or some kind of (new) officer (hopefully a black-suited one) Rebel BP: -tree -new Ewok -Endor Luke -two Endor Rebel Troopers What do you think? I can't imagine that there'll be more OT sets coming out in January - but for sure there will be some in the summer wave. I can confirm at least two more (very supposably non-exclusive) OT sets for 2012 - but please don't ask me for more info (I haven't seen any pics and I promised to not tell more). Klaus-Dieter
  13. The Winter Post Office looks amazing! I really like the post office itself. Hopefully it will even have a nice and decent interior - even on the second floor (but after the Winter Village Bakery I regrettably highly doubt that). Instead of the bench I would have prefered a small statue or another stand to tell Christmas stuff. But ok. I would have prefered an up-to-date post van and not an oldtimer. But better an oldtimer than no post van. The only thing I dislike is its red color (why not yellow?!). The gazebo with the saxophone and banjo player is supposably the best part of the set. I can well imagine it fits very well next to the icy lake of the bakery set. I'm really looking forward to this set and hope that TLG will continue the Winter theme even after 2011! Klaus-Dieter
  14. Thank you very much for these pictures of the HEB, Lord of the Fries and the encyclopedia, I Scream Clone! Ceremony Han isn't totally exciting - but he looks good. The Hoth Echo Base is really a shame! It looks as if it was built by a young child and not by a professional Lego set designer! When I heard HEB, I immediately was thinking about something similar to the amazing Battle of Endor set. But there are worlds between these two sets! TBoE is a decent building with a huge number of (new) minifigures. In contrast the HEB consists mainly of big holes, a completely sense- and useless crane, no separations between the rooms and no senseful new minifigure (TLG completely ignored our long wish for Major Bren Derlin). Bad job, TLG! I for sure won't buy this set. It's definately not worth the money. I doubt whether this set will sell very well: For AFOLs it's only a joke and for JFOLs it's still too expensive. Let's hope that there'll be a more decent HEB with senseful new minifigures in three years or so! But the 10188 DS wasn't mentioned in the last collector's book, too, although the General Grievous Statue was. Klaus-Dieter
  15. Thank you very much for these pics, astra and for this information, grogall! I don't care about the camper since I don't buy sets like these - but of course it doesn't look bad. The Winter Post Office looks amazing! (I'll comment on it more precisely in the according topic in the City sub-forum.) Klaus-Dieter
  16. Thank you very much for this great review, WhiteFang! I voted for above average since this series includes many cool minifigures (e. g. gladiator, soldier, graduate) but even some which aren't that exciting (e. g. dwarf and fitness trainer) or which include wrong or not that fitting accessory (e. g. the metallic buckler for the gladiator). Which is even very bad is that this series will be 0,50 Euros per minifigure more than the previous ones (although the minifigures don't have more accessory). All in all, series 4 is my favourite series so far. I found the review very helpful and yes, I plan to buy some of these minifigures included in this series. The "top three" minfigures of series 5 are for me: 1. gladiator 2. mobster 3. soldier Klaus-Dieter
  17. I, too, am really hoping for some kids in these new series, too (I mean: without kids Lego City won't have any future). At least that the clown in series 5 wears kids' pants gives some hope. According to a new sports minifigure, I'd say it is very supposably that we'll see a basketball player with basketball soon, don't you think? And for a historical minifigure I wouldn't be surprised if we got a Roman soldier and a Mongolian warrior. A damsel of the castle would be a dream - but since TLG concentrates more on male minifigures, I doubt it. Klaus-Dieter
  18. Thank you very much for this advise, I Scream Clone and Sandy! But - although I like collecting as much as playing as much as building - I hate it to mix MOCs with official sets. Apart from that I wouldn't be that sure about that I would be disappointed about a new Western theme: Only look at the new Kingdoms sets - they are way better than the Castle sets of the kast ten years and imo even better than the classic Castle sets of the eightees and ninetees. If TLG released a new WW theme, I bet that they would include even some new stuff - at least a stage coach and a saloon. For sure there would be common sets we already saw in the 90s, too, and they would even make the majority of the sets. But as long as there are one or two new sorts of buildings and vehicles, I would be happy. Yes, please, I Scream Clone. That would be really cool! I anyway don't remember that there has ever been any Western competition since I joined EB. Klaus-Dieter
  19. Hello everybody! Since the first half of 2011 is now over and since we've already got information on, pics of and even reviews of the majority of this year's sets, I thought it would be interesting to discuss about which themes and sets you think - or even better know - that we'll get next year. Here are my ideas: City Construction Site (?construction site, ?cement mixer, ?garbage truck, ?truck with jackhammer and other tools, ?excavator, ?skip) Rescue (?hospital, ?rescue helicopter, ?ambulance, ?doctor's car) ?Zoo ?limited edition set(s): ?supermarket Creator Duplo "Girls' theme" ?Cars ?Pirates of the Caribbean ?NinjaGo Racers ?"Indian Quest" Hero Factory Technic Star Wars ?Endor BPs, ?X-Wing, ?TIE Fighter, ?Tusken Raiders with "bison" ?new theme Western or Romans or something completely different? Minifigure Series 6, 7, 8 Kingdoms ?siege tower, ?knights' camp, ?outer bailey Exclusives ?Jabba's Palace ?big Kingdoms set (?knighs' tournament re-design, ?huge castle) ?big City set (?pleasure cruiser, ?truck stop, ?some sort of new 7641 or 10184) ?Winter set (?candy shop, ?apothecary, ?family house, ?train station) ?Train set (?cargo center, ?engine shed, ?big central station, ?elevated train) What do you think? Klaus-Dieter
  20. Yes, exactly, lightningtiger. Wouldn't a re-design of this set (of course with car doors like in the classic version) be really cool?! Yes, Mr. Elijah Timms. Construction Site as well as Rescue Vehicles were confirmed by legomilk already some weeks ago. If we got a hospital, I hope it would be much bigger, not set up on a hill and wouldn't include a helicopter (which should be sold seperately with a decent interior). A surgeon minifigure would be a must-have (if it didn't come with one of next year's Minifigure Series). Klaus-Dieter
  21. I even hope that TLG will offer us a new garbage truck and a new cement mixer truck (the last ones were released in 2007). Do you think that these and even some sort of smaller construction truck with jackhammer and compressor (like set 6667) might be included in this new Construction Site wave? I even wonder whether we will really get a new Hospital theme or a (Mountain or Sea) Rescue theme (legomilk only mentioned rescue vehicles - so both might be possible). Which I find a shame is that TLG didn't take the chance this year with the new wave of Harbor sets to offer us either a pleasure cruiser or a ferry as an exclusive set for us AFOL City fans. So let's hope that next year we will get some bigger exclusive and civilian oriented City set. Klaus-Dieter
  22. Seeing that "shovel" with which the crane in the new Harbor set enloads the grain pieces from the ship, I had an idea: It's not profitable for TLG to use a new mold for only one time/set. Since next year we'll see some new construction site sets, I could well imagine TLG to release as one of these sets some sort of a re-design of the Public Works Center in which they use that new "shovel" piece. At least I really would like to get some sort of public works center - if it wasn't built that <insert that tiresome argument>, if it had two garages with rolling gates, an office, a lot of accessory included and some nice vehicles. What do you think? Klaus-Dieter
  23. Well, you're right, Navy Trooper Fenson. So there is still hope for an exclusive System scaled OT set this year. But if it was "only" in the price range of the General Grievous Statue (which was around 70 Euros, wasn't it?), I really would like TLG not to release Jabba's Palace. Jabba's Palace has to be minimum 150 Euros if it is done how it shall be done as an Exclusive: bigger like the previous version, more closed, more rooms with more interior, many minifigs and even some new minifigs. I don't think that Jabba's Palace should/would be a counterpart of the DS - for that Jabba's Palace doesn't include enough exciting and important rooms and not such a huge number of interesting minifigs. Imo Cloud City could - and even should - be a counterpart of the DS since it includes many interesting rooms to play and a huge number of excellent old and new characters. The only thing I think we can be sure is that - if there was another exclusive SW set this year - it for sure won't be more expensive than last year's UCS Imperial Shuttle, supposably even less (I'd imagine 150 Euros). Klaus-Dieter
  24. My opinion, Mr. Elijah Timms: For sure the Cargo Train (7939) - it includes the most playability and in my eyes (although it's really expensive) the best price-ratio performance of all these three - although I have to say that "cheap" is far away from these prices. Klaus-Dieter
  25. Thank you very much for this information, Anachir! That's really interesting. That's not that bad, Mr. Elijah Timms. Today houses are painted in every color. Having houses always only in white, yellow, red and blue gets imo from time to time boring. So some more color varietey is welcome. Although I of course must admit that I'd prefer a non-pink color, too. Klaus-Dieter
