  1. Thank you all very much for your nice comments! Yes, together with the school kitchen these are my favourite rooms, too. It took a long time to have the details for the chem lab the final way they are shown on the pics. But imo it was worth the work. A modern villa is already in work. But because of my exams I haven't been having any time til now to complete it - but in summer I (supposably) will and then I'll show you. Here in Germany there are still overhead projectors in some schools. Beamers are still expensive. At university there are of course many. But in schools it's really different: Some already have whiteboards in every classroom, others have no single stationary beamer in any classroom. Klaus-Dieter
  2. The only element which interests me in this set is the possible new Imp. Officer (but I surely will never buy the set nevertheless): He has a black belt. The regular Imp. Officer as well as the one with the Hoth armor have not black but grey belts. So either this officer has the torso of Grand Moff Tarkin or TLG is going to release a new torso printing. If it's a new type of Imp. Officer, I really hope that this minifig will be included in a System scaled OT set in the near future, too. Otherwise I would get very angry (since then I would never have the chance to get one). Klaus-Dieter

    School

Hello everybody! Some "older" members may remember this school I designed with LDD about two years ago. Whereas this LDD MOCset should show that there could well and even should be an official school set in the City theme, I even always wanted to build a big school as a MOC with real bricks. In my last summer holidays I took the chance but was firstly able to show you now (because of my exams (which are still taking place)). So here it is: School It's shortly after eight o'clock and the sixth class is having their geography class: One pupil didn't learn the names of all European countries and their capitals. Some decades ago it was allowed to beat pupils for that. Since some decades this is luckily forbidden. Nevertheless in the world of minifigs this seems to be different: And even when the boy's dad comes to school in order to talk to the teacher, he isn't listened to but is immediately arrested by the police: So sometimes I'm glad that I don't live in my minifigs' world. The eighth class is having manual training: The schoolmaster has a lot of work to do in his office: Luckily there's now pause. Pupils and teachers go outside the school building: Some other stay in the recreation area in the auditorium in order to have a snack or a drink: The caretaker sells the snacks and drinks in his kiosk: After pause the nineth class is having chemistry class: The fifth class is having home economics in the school kitchen: The pupils of the seventh class have to work with the internet for their project: Finally the bell rings. School is over. Firstly the crossing guards leave school in order to that all the other pupils can securely get home: Secondly the pupils of the fifth class leave: Then the pupils of the sixth and seventh class leave school: Fourthly the pupils of the eighth and nineth class go home: Then the teachers leave: At last the caretaker locks the school building: But before that there's one person who leaves school which can't be seen on the last pictures (but on some pictures reporting the day before school is over). Who is it? 1. The cook with the crab? 2. The surfer? 3. The mobster? 4. The schoolmaster? 5. The banjo player? Who won't find out in less than two minutes has to go minimum two years to school again (if he/she already left school) or has to stay the rest of the year every day for some extra class at school (if he/she is already at school). Many, many more pics (the building from all sides and its interior without minifigs and some details of the interior details) can be found in this folder of my BS gallery. Comments are welcome! Klaus-Dieter
  4. Thank you very much for this great review, KimT! This is really an amazing Train set! Nevertheless I give it "only" an Above Average: Cons: -nearly no accessory (esp. cargo stuff to put inside the containers) -completely overpriced (100 Euros would have been ok, but 120 is definately 20 Euros too much) Pros: -absolutely authentic -new minifig torso -three containers (and not only two) -absolutely lovely looking yard tractor and refridgerator container (which are the two parts of the set I like the most) I really hope that TLG will offer us a cargo center next year in order to that we have a place where all these containers can be kept, un- and loaded. Klaus-Dieter
  5. Thank you very much for this picture, whung, and for this information, Sir von Lego! Since I'm absolutely no UCS lover, I don't take any interest in this set. More than this - I even dislike it that TLG releases the Executor as an UCS set since this takes away the possibility that we'll get a new System scale ISD (with more and new minifigs and a greater interior) in the next years. I really hope that the rumor of Jabba's Palace (it was said to be 10224 while the UCS Executor is 10221) is right since if we don't get any huge OT set this year, 2011 would definately be the worst year for System scale OT fans ever. Klaus-Dieter
  6. Thank you very much for this great review, WhiteFang! This review is very helpful and useful. I will get my wanted minifigs by touch and feel. (Perhaps I and a good friend will buy a whole box and then we will divide the minifigs.) Series 5 is really outstanding and it's even the best series of all five series of which we have got pics and information. The only two minifigs I don't like are the monster and the werewolf. Apart from these, all minifigs are completely amazing! Having seen this review, my top three are the hazamt guy, the skater and the kimono. I'm really looking forward to get these minifigs! Klaus-Dieter
  7. That's a great and very interesting topic, Gregorovich! I think that the idea behind a new mainly girls oriented theme is very simple: 1. It gets girls introduced in Lego. So they later might buy sets of other themes, too. 2. If it was some sort of Paradisa theme, its sets could go very well with the regular City sets. So boys can expand their cities with the new Paradisa sets and girls can add some City sets to their new Paradisa layout. I really, really hope that it'll be a remake of Paradisa - and not a fairytaile theme or something similar to that - since I'd be interested in some beach sets, too! I could well imagine this new girls' theme (if it was like Paradisa) consisting of four til five sets in its first wave: horse stables, beach scenery (with cafe), weekend cottage and some small set(s) (like e. g. a horse transporter, a beach buggy, a camper, a small yacht etc.). What do you think? But I bet that this new girls' theme will firstly be released in summer 2012 - in spring 2012 I expect a new historical theme or adventure theme (replacing this year's Pharaoh's Quest) (I'd go either for Western, Romans or Greeks). If so, we won't get any detailed set news or pics before around Christmas. Klaus-Dieter
  8. The Space Port sets look great - but I won't buy them since I'll spent my money on the marina and the harbor which I prefer over the Space Port sets. Since the new cargo train 3677 seems not to be a completely new set but seems to replace the current cargo train (read here, too), there's a chance that we'll get an exclusive City set in summer, too, don't you think? At least I really hope so! I really hope for something similar to the classic Main Street, to 10184 or 7641. A service station hasn't been released for years - so one might be included if we got such a set. Plus minimum one shop - a Lego Store, a grocery and/or supermarket, a cafe and a hotel are that much needed! On the other hand I'm a bit sceptical about whether we'll get an exclusive civilian oriented set in this year's summer at all since we haven't got any information til now (and about 8403 and 8404 we already knew at this date last year). What do you think? Klaus-Dieter
  9. I can confirm that this train will be released in August and will replace the current cargo train from 2010. Its price will be very similar to last year's cargo train. That this new train shall be around the same price like the current one is imo really bad since already the current one is very expensive but does include more playabilty. Imo it's even weird that TLG decided to replace last year's cargo train with this new one. I don't say that the new one is worse designed - but it includes much less playability. Plus one thing is strange: Why haven't we seen any picture of this train in the dealer's catalogue for the second half of 2011? Or will the current cargo train be discontinued and the new one only be sold via S@H and TRU? Klaus-Dieter
  10. Thank you very much for this information, commanderneyo! But I must say that I'm very sceptical about this news. We already know the Hoth Echo Base and the Naboo Fighter for summer plus perhaps the Jabba's Palace Exclusive. Perhaps there'll be one more big Exclusive (UCS and/or fpr PT/CW fans) - but for sure not more. Like it was already mentioned, the only possibility might be that these are some of the sets for early 2012. But it's very unsupposably that we get info on them already now. I don't say that a new Yoda's hut is unsupposably. Imo it's even very supposably that we'll get one in the next years since TLG is at re-designing their classic sets. But the hut on its own would - apart from some AFOLs like me (which already own a X-Wing and don't need one more) - be completely unattractive. So if we get a new Yoda's hut it for sure will have the X-Wing included. Klaus-Dieter
  11. Thank you very much for the new picture! Not that good than series 4 - which is til now imo the best series of all - but still great! I wonder what that suitcase the mobster carries shall be/shall include (But it for sure won't include something, don't you think?). Klaus-Dieter
  12. Thank you all very much for this information, the pictures and the video! I must admit that I've got mixed feelings about this set: On the one hand the engine, the waggon with the "hut" on it and the ballast box look amazing. On the other hand the ballast waggon looks bad in the brown color and I don't like the closed waggon with this strange colored roof. I would prefer a working vehicle with crange to repair signal boxes instead of only a simple vehicle with storage place on its back. Apart from that I fear that with TLG releasing this set this summer as an exclusive City set which surely will be more expensive than 100 Euros - if it included all that PF stuff - we won't see any civilian City sets (some jobs) which we need so much! Btw: Do you think that the closed waggon has some more cargo stuff and some tools for repairing the tracks inside? Klaus-Dieter
  13. Thank you very much for these high-res pictures, grogall! These sets look completely amazing! An additional comment (on everything other I already commented): I really like that TLG included one of these PotC bottles in the carriage and one golden tumbler! Klaus-Dieter
  14. Yes, I did mean that. I completely agree with you, CallMePie! Jabba for sure will be printed (like the Tauntaun and the Wampa) and for sure will be in grey (like the Tauntaun). Klaus-Dieter
  15. Thank you very much for these high-res pictures, grogall! City Advent Calendar  This is the worst advent calendar I've seen for years! In the last years all City advent calendars included a lot of amazing sutff and either I bought them myself or got them for my birthday. But this one is one I even woulnt'd like to get as a gift! It is completely family antagonistic (no woman, no kid) and completely Police dominated. There is no single element included (apart from some weird snowmobiles) which we don't get in this year's City sets and Minifigures series anyway. Power Boat Transporter The transporter looks like a child's MOC and the boat is (although very well designed) much too huge for that it only fits one or two minifigures. Fishing Boat This set could have potential. But it indeed doesn't. The exterior design is partly well done. But why do they always use holes instead of windows?! That looks that ugly! It doesn't seem as if there is some interior downstairs - which is really a shame. The only nice thing is that they included a boy - supposably the only kid minifigure for City in the whole year - which is again completely family antagonistic. Speedboat simple but good looking Harbor The peer with the blue-yellow building looks a bit <insert that tiresome argument>. Apart from that I really like the set and even like that TLG found a way to combine the Farm theme with regular City themes. The car looks well designed, but the grain ship looks amazing! Yacht Harbor This is for sure the best set of this whole wave! Only the coastguard watchtower looks a bit <insert that tiresome argument>. And it's a pity that it seems that the surfer won't have a new T-shirt. Apart from that I really like the right building - esp. the small cafe and the surf shop - a great idea and a stunning outcome! Btw: Since there'll be an exclusive City train set this summer (I don't mean 10219 but 3677), do you think that we'll get another City Exclusive anyway (apart from the modular one)? I really hope so. We really need some shops! Klaus-Dieter
  16. Thank you all very much for the new pics! My mind towards the MF and the Ewok Attack changed completely after having seen all these pictures: Ewok Attack - much too much senseless action stuff - tree looks like a child's MOC - no Stromtrooper - worse design of the speederbike than the ones included in The Battle of Endor + only the two new Ewoks look amazing and will make me buying this set Millenium Falcon - no walls between the different rooms - no really new minifigures + training ball + elaborated interior (esp. the control desks) Btw: Do you think that the bearings of the MF are retractable? That would be great! Thank you very much for this information, nrg! A new Jabba's Palace sounds amazing! It's even very plausible that we'll get a new Jabba's Palace since firstly the last one was released in 2003 and since secondly TLG can in this way again use their new molds and designs for Han, Han in carbonite and Boba. Since it for sure is in a price range between 150 Euros/Dollars and 260 Euros/Dollars, it'll have a lot of potential! A Rancor is completely unrealistic to believe - but maybe we'll get a midi-scale version of it (like the TIE in the 10188 DS) together with a mcrofigure of Luke. A Jabba's Sail Barge included in this set is imo completely excluded, too, since it would rise the price to much. Very likely is a small prison, a blacksmith room, a resized entrance and the hall with the throne and Han in carbonite. For new minifigs I bet for bounty hunter Leia, Scarlac and a new guard. What do you think? So I bet for a new CC in 2012. Klaus-Dieter
  17. Thank you very much for these pics, Kris Kelvin and nrg! Advent Calendar: Some mini models look quite accurate (like e. g. the Slave 1) and others look really bad (like e. g. the A-Wing). As for Yoda as Santayoda: Come on, that's really stupid! Instead of giving us Yoda as a Santa, TLG should better give us a regular Yoda (for the OT fans there hasn't been one since 2004) or another character. Since there are now 3 CW/PT minifigures and 3 OT minifigures which we know, I could well imagine that there'll be one more OT minifig and one more PT minifig in the calendar. That would make 8 minifigs in total - I think more is unrealistic to await. So let's hope that possible fourth OT character will be more stunning than the stuff we have seen til now! MF: Not bad concerning the exterior. But it's swindle to declare Luke and Leia as new minifigures. They have been released for several times already - and that there is a new hair piece does really not make it a new minifigure! The only reason why TLG put this advertising there is because it would look really bad if all sets contain minimum one new minifigure - and the set which is the biggest one and the most expensive one contains absolutely no new minifigure. But in fact that's the case! Ewok Attack: The "tree" gives some impression of a tree - but is nevertheless much too low for a decent tree. It would have imo been better to have it smaller but taller. A Stormtrooper or Imperial Trooper is definately missing in this set. Apart from that it's ok - the two new minfigs look brilliant! As far as for now, I must say that if we don't get some really new minifigures and some decent rooms in the Hoth Echo Base and if there won't be another Sysem-Scale OT Exclusive this year with a huge number of really new minifigures, this year will be the most disappointing year for OT fans since Lego Star Wars does exist! Klaus-Dieter
  18. After a long time here's now another idea for a small set: Bandit's Secret Arsenal (10 Euros) The sheriff follows on his horse the bandit to his secret arsenal. Will the sheriff find out where the bandit is hiding his weaponry? And will he be aible to arrest him? It lays in your hand! a small brick-built tree with a hole inside it to hide something including a brown horse, a brown box, three guns, four revolvers, a bottle and an oil lamp minifigures: bandit, sheriff What do you think? On a side note: The new bottles form the Pirates of the Caribbean theme would fit very well as bottles for a saloon, don't you agree? Klaus-Dieter
  19. Thank you very much for this information and the link, Emperor! At least one new (?) OT guy! I really hope that he'll get a in Lego not before seen printing on the helmet. But Chewie is much too ordinary. We have him in the DS, in The Battle of Endor and finally even in this year's MF. But we don't need mulitples of him. So why didn't TLG better include in the advent calendar a character of which you can need mulitples - e. g. a Stormtrooper or an Imperial Trooper?! I'm really hoping that there'll be at least one more and new character in the advent calendar. Otherwise I won't buy it. (I don't need all these mini models and the CW/PT minifigs.) Klaus-Dieter
  20. Hello everybody! I know that 2011 firstly began. Nevertheless it's never to early to discuss possible future sets. (Only for explanation: I created a new topic since the topic title of this topic firstly indicates that there'll be a new fire truck in 2012 (for which we haven't got any information yet - and which is btw absolutely unrealistic anyway) and secondly there are wishes posted. But this topic shall be more there for realistic specualtions than for unrealistic set wishes. For set wishes there is the "Ideas for new City sets" topic.) (source: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=51522&st=0) Many thanks to legomilk for this information! He has never been wrong before, so we can hundred percently trust him. It was sure that in 2012 we'll again see a Construction Site subtheme. But does legomilk with "work vehicles" possibly mean that there won't be a construction site itself, but only working vehicles? Of course there has to come some building with them. So what about a new Public Works Center since TLG is at bringing back sets from the 80s and 90s in updated style? Imo that would be amazing and finally be something different than always only a house which is built up by a crane. I really hope that TLG will offer us a new garbage truck with car doors and the new trans-black bus window (from 7641). The last one was released in 2007 and isn't still available. So it's really time for a new one. It even was sure that we'll get some sort of Rescue theme in 2012. And I even was going for a Hospital subtheme. But CG would have been possible and mountain rescue, too. So it's great to have confirmation that it'll be a Hospital theme! I'd go for a hospital with ambulance as main set, a rescue helicopter as medium sized set and a different ambulance and a doctor's car as small set. What do you think? I'm really hoping that the new hospital will be much bigger than the one from 2006, that it'll include a decent and detailed interior (not such a shameful interior like in the new police station) and that a new minifigure will be released in this set - a surgeon. The rescue helicopter should have some interior, too, and not only the cockpit and a stretcher. The same goes for the ambulance. Could you, too, imagine that TLG pushes the Working Vehicles subtheme backwards to April in order to give us a huger number of Hospital sets - so that we even could get a mountain rescue set etc.? Imo that would be brilliant! Which concerns the rest of the year, I could well imagine that we'll see: One or two smaller Farm set(s) including mainly animals are very likely (goats and chicken from the Kingdoms theme!). But I even hope that a new agriculutural vehicle (different to a new tractor) and a small house will be included in there. I wouldn't count on a farm house - imo that's too unrealistic to get (since TLG would surely have included it in the main set if they wanted to release one). A Zoo theme for the summer wave doesn't lay too far off since it's that demanded. I could imagine a main set, a medium sized set, a vehicle and a small set. As far as for possible Exclusives: I must admit that I really have no clue there since it could be nearly everything. If the January Exclusive was from the City theme, I'd go for a new Town Plan style set with post office, cafe and Lego Store. But even a hotel, a grocery and a not-Winter-styled bakery are imo not unlikely. A mall, new cargo center, truck stop, elevated train, school and pleasure cruiser are much in demand. Plus the last gas station was released in 2007 (if you don't count the one in 10184 in the year 2008) which isn't still availabe. Consequently a new gas station (either as exclusive of as regular set) is imo very likely, too (esp. since we got hte fuel truck last year). So it's really difficult to say. What do you think? Klaus-Dieter
  21. That' a very interesting topic, jansued! But I find it extremely unlikely that TLG will release a new Fire set in 2012. Fire will come back in 2013 - at that time hopefully with more and better designed vehicles and a more decent and authentic fire station than the last year(s)! But before that I see no chance. Thank you very much for this information, legomilk! I think it's better to have a seperate topic to discuss that. So please go here for this subject. Klaus-Dieter
  22. Imo it's weird the City sets aren't shown on the Nuremberg Toy Fair (or at least that nobody takes a video or pics of them). Having had some closer looks at the Space Port sets, I decided not to buy them: Of course they look - apart from the Moon Buggy (which looks imo much too <insert that tiresome argument>) - amazing. But in my planned final layout (which very supposably won't be as big as I plan it at the moment) there won't be any place. Plus I like the Harbour sets more than these Space sets. And since money is limited, too, I will pass the Space sets and get the Harbour sets. Btw: Does someone remember when last year we got the first confirmation (picture, set descrpition or at least set name and set number) of the City House and the Public Transport Center? I think it's time that we at least get some hints and/or set names which exlusive City sets we can await for this summer! (I can't imagine - and even don't hope - that there won't be minimum one exclusive City set (apart from the Winter set) this year. And I even bet that minimum one of maximum two sets will be Harbour related. What do you think?) Klaus-Dieter
  23. I'm a bit late - but nevertheless thank you very much for this great review, tiggerkiddo! Imo this Winter set isn't that amazing than the Winter Toy Shop. That isn't because of a toy shop being more interesting than a bakery, but because of the reasons you can read below. Nevertheless it's a brilliant set! So - if there was a poll added to this topic - I would give this set definately an above average. Con: -no interior on the second floor -completely open oven -white owl (why not one of the HP theme?!) -carriage puts the whole Winter theme in a past period of history (I would prefer a Winter theme which is compatible in time with the current City theme) -much too small lake (if one side would be open, this would solve the problem) -no table for the baker to prepare his cakes, baguettes etc. -no space to go to the area where is baken Pro: -another building which fits hundred percently with 10199 -nice landscape -not exactly the same design like 10199 -seven minifigures -lots of lovely food pieces -bakery with two floors -brilliant display I'm really surpised which we'll get this year for a Winter set and am looking forward to (supposably) buy it! Klaus-Dieter
  24. Thank you very much for this information and for these pics! Since I dislike the movies, I even don't like these Lego sets (which has nothing to do with that they for sure are built very well). Imo TLG should have gone further with the excelllent Pirates theme of 2009 or release a new one - but no license. There are only three elements which I like: -the ship in the bottle (Do you think that it'll be a sticker or printed?) -the holder for a sable -the globe Otherwise . Klaus-Dieter
  25. Thank you very much for this information, these pics and the video! Although I'm absolutely no Space fan (I even don't own any Space set and even will never buy one (at least not for myself), I must admit that I really like this new Space theme! The reason for this is supposably since it looks - much more than all previous Space themes - more like a "realistic" Space theme (with vehicles and characters you could imagine to exist). The most I like following two minifigures: -female news speaker -man with dark-blue pinstripe suit Klaus-Dieter
