Help choose a Lego Star Wars 10th annaversiry set (2009)
Klaus-Dieter replied to Legoman's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I think that this year's DS already is a playset - so it makes no sense to discuss it as a 10th anniversary set. A Battle Of Endor Playset would be a great idea - but I think TLG would prefer to release a big vehicle. I think Endor stuff could/should be released as "normal" sets - but of course it should be released! X-D The Rebel Blockade Runner is an excellent idea - I already wrote it down http://eurobricks.hosting.ipsyn.com/eurofo...t=0#entry249698. A Jabba's Palace Playset would be a great idea - with new and old minifigs, with a bigger door and generally better and more outfit. A Cloud City remake would be a great idea, too - with a silvern C-3PO, these little creatures which run the carbonite machine and a wating room for Leia, Han and Chewy which includes a big round plexiglas window. (Then there could/should be a remake of the Twin Pod Cloud Car in 2009, too?!) What do you think about a Home One Mon Calmari Cruiser (http://eurobricks.hosting.ipsyn.com/eurofo...t=0#entry249698)? Or what about an Ewok Town or a Temple of Yavin playset with an X-Wing, the Rebel Commander (don't know his name - he is officially Leia's father) and new pilots? The main thing is that it should be a set from the OT and be in minifig scale and include lots of minifigs - especially new minifigs! ;-) -
Thank you very much for the instruction pics, madonlego and Chuck! 2230 will be a really nice set! I thought that the minifig on the raft would be a CG man but it seems that it is a "normal" minifig. It would be a pity if this set is only an airline promotional because I'd like to buy it, too and even for an affordable price! Like 2007, 2008 really seems to be a great year for City fans - especially for harbor fans! *y*

I like Gold City Junction the most, too - even so I don't own it until know, but hope to buy it from ebay - or from Lego :-D - this or next year. But I like(d) all Wild West sets, they were/are great sets *wub* ! And it's really real: Come on, TLC, and bring back this nice WW theme! There would be so many old ideas to be re-released and of course so many new and different ideas to do including the ideas for a ghost town, too that I think that the comeback of WW is a must! ;-)

I noticed something strange when looking closely at the pic of the 7739 CG Patrol Boat: images removed at the request of TLC The big box pic shows the boat with an - if I don't see it wrong - open room under the bridge with only a white guard-rail on each side. The little pic down on the left side of the box shows the room downstairs with two windows which are directly under the two windows of the bridge. It seems that in this pic the room under the bridge is - at least from the right and the left side and fromthe front closed. So which picture is real? Do we get the boat hopefully with a (nearly) closed room downstairs (like in e. g. last year's Cargo Harbor's Container Ship) - which I really would prefer *y* - or do we get a (nearly) open room downstairs (like in e. g. last year's Fire Ship) - which would be very bad and look very curious and unrealistic *n* ?

Thank you very much for the pics, Tyranide! But I've got two questions: Why don't the new two Castle Impulse sets (the skeletton with the skeletton horse and the knight with the catapult) and the Castle advent calendar appear in this catalogue? Will there be a City advent calendar this year, too?

Pics of the Agents Line
Klaus-Dieter replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Thanks for the pics, Colonel Sanders and Hinckley! That's what I call garbage! >:-( Has that anything to do with Lego high quality products?!!! :-( A "normal" Agents line similar to James Bond which goes with the Lego City theme would have been welcome - but this is - excuse me - really only waste endued with absolutely excessive action! *n* -
Welcome to EB, Dr. Brick! A zoo would be in truth a very nice idea! Since TLC released a Duplo zoo - why not a "normal" City zoo?! And you're right: The animals could be used not only for this zoo but even for the Wild West, the Adventure and the Castle theme.

What do you mean with this sentence, xzanfr? By the way: I *wub* Town Plan very much and am very lucky that I bought it. But about one thing I am a bit disappointed - like you, too: That there is no "office" in the town hall or at least a writing table for the mayor or a registrar (for the merrying couple). Offices are - like shops - a "must" for the City theme - and I hope that we'll get some of each in the future!
-
Your question is authorized. But since we all (or at least the most of us) hope for a Death Star as a "normal" SW set with minifigs and nice interior it would be something totally different to a "simple" UCS set. But of course we don't know until know what the Death Star really will be like - but an UCS set is in my opinion not very realistic - and I even hope that it will be no UCS set!

2008 Exclusives turn up on "Replacement parts" page
Klaus-Dieter replied to sam89's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I saw again through the brick pics of 10185 Green Grocer on http://www.flickr.com/photos/12342436@N07/...57601739850502/ which was posted by paksu. And I came - when only argueing from the point of view of the brick combionation - to the conclusion: On the one hand there are these stairs in this set, the white clear lamp and the many roof bricks - that argues for a CC styled set. On the other hand I think TLC won't include four minifigs in a CC styled set. So either this CC styled set must be very big (Only for comparison: The Caf -
Thank you very much for the pic, phoinix! This CG set (2230) looks great! Hopefully it will be no promotional set because I regrettably haven't got the chance to get this sets and don't even have got the money to buy these sets for fantasy prices from Ebay. I even don't think that it'll be a promotional set because if there are two parts of which it shall consist (the boat and something other) isn't it too big for a promotional set in comparison to e. g. the Air Ambulance set?! I personally don't think that it will come with a helicopter because we already have this big nice great CG Rescue Helicopter With Life Raft. Thank you for the pics, ~VBBN~! These sets appear to be promotional sets because they are very little, aren't they? But I personally don't care about whether these sets would be promo sets or not - I will never buy them because I find them too childish.
-
Thank you for that information, legomilk! But what do you mean with "real"? Does this mean that 2230 and 4210 are "normal" sets you will be able to buy in (nearly) all toy shops which sell Lego, only in special shops, only at S@H or as special sets whih you only get if you have very much luck and very much money (means promotional sets)? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- By the way: What is 4210? Brickset says that it is a "Coast Guard Platform". But what to understand under this expresssion? Has anybody got some pics?

Welcome to EB, MiniGreavy! I totally agree with you: Some sort of Mon Calamari Cruiser would be an absolutely must and I hope TLC will release one in the last three years that are left to release Lego Star Wars sets if Lego doesn't elongate its license on SW products. But I personally would prefer non-UCS styled Mon Calamari Cruiser - a minifig version like the Imperial Star Destroyer from 2006 would be very nice!
-
Thank you for the nice review, Legocastlegirl! I can't tell you how glad I am - I received Town Plan even now! :-)
-
You're right, AgentRick57! Since these office buildings should be produced for AFOLs as well as for JFOLs there would be no Caf

Thank you, ricecracker! A safe&co is a safe. I simply took the name of the Wild West theme where on the safes "safe&co" was printed.

2008 Exclusives turn up on "Replacement parts" page
Klaus-Dieter replied to sam89's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Thank you for that information, sam89! I thought that we get the most pics (even the ones which are in the dealer catalogue) from "liaison officers" from Lego. -
Since I'm now in health - here my detailed comment on office buidlings: You already mentioned that there should be different offices/office buidlings. So what about this idea: >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> There are four different floors which include different offices. But these four floors are separated (perhaps even seperate sets - for each of the four floors a separate set? or a base set and two expansion sets => read below, too!) but include a mechanism so that you can build them up how you like it. You can take the stickers and the furmishing of each of the floors and trade with each of the stickers and the furnishing of the other floors. And you can build as many and as high office buildings as you want. If you want to put the fourth floor somewhere downstairs then you take away the aerials and the chimney and put it on the floor which is your upper floor. The different four floors are: foyer, doctor's office, bank office and insurance office. There could be two little expansion sets (floor two and three) and one big base set with floor one and four. Base Set Office Building: First Floor: Foyer: a foyer with a revolving door, a counter and a lounge with a sofa, a seat, a little table and a foliage plant including a suitcase and a black limousine with doors minifigs: receptionist and officer (not police officer!) Fourth Floor: Insurance Office: an insurance office with a big office with a little cupboard with a coffee machine, a writing table with computer and telephone and three seats; on the roof are some aerials and a chimney including two cups and a clear tumbler minfig: insurance officer Expansion Sets Office Building: Second Floor: Doctor's Office: a doctor's office with divan bed, electronic medical equipment, a writing table with computer and a chair including some medical equipment and other tools minifigs: doctor (female) and patient (male) Third Floor: Bank Office: a bank office with writing table with computer, telephone and three seats, little cupboard with water dispenser and a safe&co including a security transport car with doors, some jewels, some bills and gold pieces, two grey suitcases and two clear tumblers minifigs: security transport car driver, bank officer, female client If you buy all these three sets so that you have all the four floors you can combine them as follows: Combination one: Foyer, Doctor's Office, Bank Office, Insurance Office Combination two: Foyer, Bank Office, Doctor's Office, Insurance Office ... And when you buy more than one of each set you have nearly limitless possibilities to combine your floors and build your personal office buidlings! The different sets include some extra stuff like minifgs, nice equipment and cars so they assure much playability for JFOLs and - in addition - the possibility to create your individual office building which is mainly interesting for us AFOLs. So these sets would be well useable for both - AFOLs and JFOLs! <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< What do you think about this concept? Would you like it or not? How do you personally see the chances for its realisability? But one thing is clear: Office buildings would be absolutely necessary to build a real and impressive Lego City!

2008 Exclusives turn up on "Replacement parts" page
Klaus-Dieter replied to sam89's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Thank you for the pics, pedroagnelo! For people who are interested in car models it's a nice Exclusive. Did you see the 10185 Green Grocer and the 10188 Death Star, too? Do you have some pics of them? ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I don't understand why we don't get pics of this year's other Exclusives and - for example - already have the most of the pistures of the summer SW sets, although we got the information which SW sets there will be in summer much later than the information which Exclusives will be released. -

Thank you very much for that news, Hinckley and Piranha! Even though I hate the new "Castle" theme this advent calendar is amazing! It was already for a long time due that there are advent calendars which aren't only based on the City theme (and Belville/Clickits)! I really *wub* the citizen lady and the jester! Wow! That's Castle! I'm really not interested in the dwarf, in the orc and in the two skellies, the two good knights are OK but the rest is 8-

Thank you very much for the pics, Hinckley and Colonel Sanders! Except for the 4ward I already commented on every of these Coast Guard sets. I *wub* all these sets except the truck with the speedboat. The 4ward is very nice, too. But why didn't TLC include doors?! That would have made the car looking much nicer! Otherwise this Coast Guard theme is amazing! 8-
