  1. I don't deny that these movies are nice (by the way: I can't deny because I haven't seen them yet) and I even don't say that Lego SW sets which aren't based on the OT are bad - some of them are yet great (e. g. the AT-PT). But because of several reasons (I wrote some pages ago) I'm not interested in non-OT sets. That's how it is - and it surely won't change. Of course I beny people who have the place and the money to buy alle SW sets they can get - and some of the sets even two or three times. But when you are not only a SW fan but a City (and WW and Classic Castle) fan, too, you (or at least I) have to prioritise! But know back to the topic: Since all these 8 CW sets are listed for summer - does anybody know if this means that we'll perhaps get some other sets in fall, too, or are these now all SW sets for 2008?
  2. Thank you for these nice pics, Hinckley! 2008 is becoming a very nice Lego City sets year! I'm very pleased!
  3. Amazing MOC, DARKspawn! TLC should learn a lesson from you how Castle sets look like! The palace and the walls are very well designed. I like the interior, the minifigs and the "green stuff" with the fountain inside the castle walls very much. What I like the most are the monkhood with their car. Very well done!
  4. Thank you for the link, sam89! I totally agree with you, xwingyoda! The playability gets more and more risible. To the 7667 Rebel Scout Speeder: The function of putting the tower of the Rebel Scout Speeder up and down is absurd, I'd say. It seems as if TLC searched convulsively for a solution to arise the playability of the set. I like the Rebel Troopers but am a bit disaapointed that no Commander or Captain is included in this set. I mean: There were even three different Clone Troopers in this years Clone Troopers BP, so why didn't TLC include at least one different minifig in this set. Nevertheless - like you already mentioned - people will buy this set - and I, too, because I want Rebel Troopers. By the way: Did anybody hear something about the Rebel Blockade Runner? I thought that it is already designed (hopefully in OT style and with OT minifigs) and should be released in 2008. Am I wrong? Or will we get the RBR in 2009? Or not at all?! - That would be very bad! To the 7668 Imperial Dropship: It's the same thing like with the Rebel Scout Speeder: The function of putting the part where the Stormies sits away and on the Imperial Dropship is absurd, I'd say. It seems as if TLC searched convulsively for a solution to arise the playability of the set. But aside from that I'm very disappointed of this set. Why did TLC include a Shadow Trooper in this set?! That was a very bad decision because thereby you can't use this vehicle for the OT. And I even don't understand it: Shoulnd't both BPs (7667 and 7668) complement one another?! In this way it's at any rate not the case! Like I already mentioned some time before: I won't by this set because I can't use it for the OT - and I'm not interested in sets of other episodes/comics/series!
  5. I totally agree with you, Lord Of Pies! I'm a very big fan of the Old Triology and consequently I'm very disappointed of next year's SW sets: The only little set is the Rebel Scout Speeder (TLC included a Shadow Trooper in the Imperial Dropship - very bad and besides of this very unconsequently and useless according to the Rebel Scout Speeder), we probably won't get some medium sized or bigger sets. The only set in which 'm very interested (at least until now) is the 10188 Death Star. But since we don't have any further information now we don't even know if it's in minifig scale and will include minifigs. But it surely will be an expensive set - supposable more than 150 Euro - which would be bad, too, because I've got not so much money since I want to get some of the nice upcoming City sets and Impulse sets, too.
  6. Thank you for that information, TheBrickster! By the way: Does you topic only mean WW Ghost Towns or general Ghost Towns (towns where nobody lives anymore)?
  7. Very nice pics, Apache!
  8. Very well done, TheBrickster! These WW outlaws look very nice! Do you plan to create some WW citizens, too?
  9. Some of your ideas were already mentionedin this topic, Widdi. Nevertheless it is interesting to see how somebody thinks how a set should look like because everybody has different images. And besides it's nice to see that a lot of people would be interested in more Christmas/Winter sets! Your idea for a Christmas Street is a great idea I'd say!
  10. Welcome to EB, Bellog and thank you very much for that interesting article! By the way: If you have got some SW set ideas and wishes: http://eurobricks.hosting.ipsyn.com/eurofo...pic=8730&st=180
  11. Since I tried it twice to send you back an answer to your PM, TheBrickster, but it didn't work (After having sent the PM there is no entry in My Controls that I sent a PM to somebody - I don't understand!), here my answer: This would be a very nice idea! Klaus-Dieter
  12. Hellingly, your idea for a Christmas Village is great! I would really like to have a Super Set like this! With some lights - like darthperson8 wrote - that would be excellent and go very well with the Christmas Train. I really don't understand why TLC doesn't release more Christmas/Winter sets although they themselves reported that the Christmas Train did sell very well last year. I mean: Having only the Christmas Train as single Christmas/Winter set is very unsatisfactory, I'd say. A whole little winter city would be welcome to extend the Christmas/Winter subtheme! By the way: I and others wrote down some ideas for possible Christmas sets on http://eurobricks.hosting.ipsyn.com/eurofo...showtopic=10974.
  13. Ok, then excuse me because I got it wrong!
  14. There are some theme parks related to the WW in Germany: The Karl May Museum in Radebeul near Dresden. I don't know more but there surely are more. Close to Munich there is an event taking place - I think - every year where WW sceneries are set up on a field near a little village (regrettable I don't know its name) and then you can e. g. ride a horse, drink a whiskey in the saloon or shoot. And there are even some open air WW theaters like the one in Bad Segeberg near Hamburg and the one at the Karl May Museum. But I haven't been to any of them yet.
  15. To your post, jedikermit: I think that - if there hopefully is a post station - it'll cost as much as this year's train station (35,99 Euros). Since we got the news of possible 2008 City summer sets today there won't be a post station in next year's summer - perhaps in september, but that's unlikely I'd say. So let's hope for 2009 or 2010! To your post, Batbrick: I think that there must be a post station. The only question is that when it'll be released. I mean: Releasing a post car, a post plane but no post office would make as much sense as releasing a fire station without vehicles! If TLC releases a post office it surely will be very similar this year's trian station or gas station: One medium-sized building, one car (post car or civil car), one or two post officers and one or two citizens.
  16. Since I live in Germany I haven't been in a ghost town before. But I know ghost towns from my previous English lessons when I was at school, I know them of course from pictures, from specialised books I bought because I'm very interested in WW and from the excellent Karl May books and movies. By the way: Apache, many people being very interested in the new "Castle" line doesn't mean that none of them would like to have new WW or Ghost Town sets and it doesn't mean that these sets would wouldn't be successful.
  17. I actually thought of a remake of this set, too. Hopefully you're right, Brick Miner, and we'll get a WW "Super Set" or some new WW sets in the near future. I would so much like some new WW sets! (I mean: The capability and the ideas are so rich that I simply don't understand why it seems that we shell not get some!)
  18. That's a great idea, RupeeClock! This set would include a lot of playability for JFOLs and a lot of nice stuff AFOLs like (new buildings, new cars, different minifigs) in one set. This is the condition for a set to have success - I directly would buy it! That's a nice idea, too, Lt. Col. Thok! But I think that TLC should leave the path of releasing sets which are directly copied from real existing special buildings and create their own buildings which you can't assign to a special city. The simply reason for this is that these sets are all-purpose. So everybody wants to buy them. And you can create your own Lego City which isn't part of a real existing city which - at least - I find much more interesting.
  19. That's a very nice set! Very well constructed and not too big! I only hope that it won't exclusively be released from Toys RUS but even be available in "normal" toy stores in Germany because I of course would like to buy it!
  20. OK, OK - you won! These sets are really very nice! It's no question that I'd buy all SW sets (even CW, EU and FU) if I'd have the money and the place to collect them. But since this is regrettably not the case and I'm very interested in some of the new City sets, too, I (will) collect only OT sets because I like OT the most. By the way: Since these CW series are - to my knowledge - not shown on the European TV channels, might it be that a lot of these CW sets which are going to be released next year are only available in America? I mean: It was not seldom that special sets (not only SW sets) were only released in the US and Canada since they have an other Lego Company than the Europeans.
  21. Thank you for the pic, SavaTheAggie! I've got a new idea for a (Classic) Castle "Super Set": Attack On The King's Village First of all an explanation: The following set proposal is a proposal for a desired set that would be much bigger than a "Super Set" - it would more be like a "Hyper Super Mega ... Set" or something similar to that. It would surely cost more than 150 Euros - perhaps 250 Euros - but I would nevertheless like and buy it after having saving my money for it. But you could even divide this set into two seperate ones. The buildings 1-5 should each include a fragment of a medieval city wall in order to make all these buildings looking together like a whole little medieval town. The seperate buildings should be able to put together with a linking brick (like in the old Classic Castle sets in the eighties). The minifigs should look nice! For the king and his knights the classic king's knights from 1995, the Knights Kingdom 1 king's knights or the new "Castle" king's knights could be used. For the dragon knights the dragon knights from 1990 or the ones from 1993 could be used. This set would include medieval civil town buildings, stuff and minifigs without loosing the playability and action aspect and without making the fantasy aspect relevant. So it would be suitable for us AFOLs as well as for JFOLs. 1. King's Donjon With Standpost a little standpost and the king's donjon in grey colors, consisting of two floors: first floor: king's throne room with throne, big chimney and a long table with seats on its left and right side second floor: king's sleeping room with canopy bed, treasure box and little table with seat including the king's horse with an adorned saddle, a falcon, a homer, a busket to carry the water from the standpost to the donjon, some cups and tumblers, some gold pieces, a letter and the king's scepter minifigs: king, king's wife and king's little son 2. Inn an inn in grey colors but also with some yellow timber framing, consisting of two floors: first floor: chimney with cooking site and a table with 3-4 seats second floor: left side: little guestroom with bed and oil lamp, right side: little "balcony" including a pot, a pan, some tumblers and a chicken minifigs: innkeeper and king's knight 3. Medieval Farm With Field a medieval farm in red timber framing, consisting only of one floor: cooking site in the middle, sleeping site on the left and stable on the right side including some tumblers, a dog, two pigs, a cow, a plug, a shovel, some fences and a field with some vegetables minifigs: farmer and his wife 4. King's Villiage's Drawbridge a drawbridge in black or brwon colors with big doors, a portcullis and a machicolation above including a horse minifigs: king's knight and king's knight on horse 5. Blacksmith Shop an open blacksmith shop in grey colors, consisting only of one floor: chimney and ambos including some tools and some weapons minifigs: blacksmith 6. Siege Tower, Tent And Catapult a siege tower with a drawbridge a catapult a big tent with a table, a seat, a treasure box and the dragon knight's master's throne including the dragon master's horse with an adorned saddle, some tools, some gold pieces, some tumblers and some stones for the catapult minifigs: dragon master and three dragon knights What do you think?
  22. Your idea of a City of the Future is great, Piranha! I'd like space sets as long as they don't get too much futuristic and fantasy based. That's a very nice idea, SavaTheAggie! The bowling alley sounds very good. And having pay phones would be nice, too. Since there will be the post car and the post plane next year I hope that TLC is going to release a post office (with hopefully two floors) this or next year, too! Of course it would be great if this post office would be designed in an old style e. g. similar to the very nice yellow central station of the year 1990/1991 (?)! I think yellow would actually be the best color for a post office. By the way: What is a "Hudson Hornet"? I don't know this word and didn't find it in the dictionary. Is that a big truck? Here a new idea for a City "Super Set": Crossroad 1. Pharmacy and Doctor's Office a house in white and grey colours, consisting of two floors: first floor: pharmacy with counter with computer and cash box, apothecary cabinet and little foliage plant second floor: doctor's office with divan bed, writing table with computer, telephone and two seats including some medicaments minifigs: doctor, patient and female pharmacist 2. Little Police Office a police office in white and black colors, consisting of two floors: first floor: gate with desk with computer and telephone, seat and big foliage plant second floor: office with writing table with computer, telephone, two seats and little foliage plant including a radio set and a grey suitcase minifigs: two police officers 3. Restaurant a nice restaurant in yellow and white colors, consisting only of one floor: bar with taps, two tables each with 2-3 seats and a big foliage plant including some cups, some tumblers and a tray minifigs: waiter and female citizen 4. Advertising Column an advertising column with advertisements on it including a ladder, a bucket and a big brush minifig: male citizen 5. Car And Police Car a green little car (four wide and with doors) a black police car (four wide and with doors)
