That's a lovely layout, @Pdaitabird! It reminds me of the sets of the 80s and the early 90s.

It seems that TLG increases the number of exclusive and D2C sets from year to year. Plus they would be very unwise to not release a Fairground set since there is a huge community behind these. So I bet - and mainly hope - that there'll be one this year. There are still 10273-10277 rumored to be release this year - and 10273 (for 230€) and 10274 (for 200€) to be in the next time. And I'd say that the price point of both sounds like one of them could be the new Fairground set. But according to TLGs extremely late announcements this year (please read my comment in the 2020 City sets topic, too), I wouldn't count on any info about this year's Fairground set popping up before late May.

LEGO City 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
Klaus-Dieter replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
Yes, that's exactly what I meant, TeriXeri! Either this one or the right one of your first versions. Btw: Thanks for sharing! -
That's a stunning MOC, @Lepralego! Of course I supported it - and I even would immediately buy it if it was released. I esp. like the exterior with the small wall and the botanic and the interior of the upper living room.

LEGO City 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
Klaus-Dieter replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
(You mean the right version, don't you?) But if so, I think that putting the curves in the middle from two sides together to that you get a half circle on top would possible look better, don't you think? -
LEGO City 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
Klaus-Dieter replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
Thanks for the news on the animal molds and the diver polybag! I really like the new outfit (esp. the helmet) of the new diver. And the animals are brilliant! ___ But which I'm annoyed about is that TLG is that extremely stingly this year with news about the summer sets like they never have been before since my registration here on EB in 2007! There aren't yet any set pictures (apart from the leaked confidential one) - and even the list of (non-exclusive) sets isn't complete yet. And that although some summer sets might show up in special toy shops already in less than one month! I can only think of two reasons for this: 1. (With its hundreds of themes and thousands of licenses) TLG more and more doesn't get ready to judge which sets to release and then to finalize these sets. So the set info as well as the pics aren't ready in time so that TLG can't give them us in time, too. 2. TLG wants to inforce us to buy as many sets of the winter wave as possible. If they gave us info and showed us pics of the summer wave early enough, then the one or other person would decide to not buy some sets of the winter wave because he/she would judge one ore more sets of the summer wave as more worthy and so save the money for these. Because of this TLG waits til late April so that people spend all their money on Easter (and of course all the money before) on the winter wave sets. The argument that TLG does at the moment give us FOLS info on future sets so extremely late is because of clone brands is imo only pushed forwards. No clone brand could make acutally (nearly) the same set with only information or one set picture. To produce nearly the same set, the clone brand needs some insider information (like building instructions etc.) which they surely don't get from us FOLs and which aren't officially available before the release dates of the sets. I would even expand it: The detailed pics of single new elements in all angels popping up here and there are a far more bigger damage for TLG (because so clone brands can very exactly reproduce these elements) than if TLG gave us some info about future sets and one picture of each of them. My resume: I wish back the time when TLG was more open, gave us complete lists of sets early and then some overview (I don't mean detailed) pictures in time so that we could be looking forward to (some of) these sets and could plan how much money we spend on which set. Because TLG should consider: The money of their customers isn't endless. And a happy customer is the best customer (and not one who buys at the moment very much and then will be frustrated and won't buy much more in the future). ___ I think that it'll be the right version. Two possiblilties: 1. The building is built on a 24xY base. 2. There is a 32xY base but with some space in on both sides or on one side. -
2020 Trains sets - Rumours and discussion

2020 Trains sets - Rumours and discussion
Klaus-Dieter replied to Klaus-Dieter's topic in LEGO Train Tech
News on the prices for the next two Creator Expert sets ("upcoming Creator Expert sets") due to insta: 10273 - 250 Euros and 10274 - 200 Euros. I bet that the new elevated train will be one of these since it would be exactly the price range I think of (a bit more than a regular Trains set due to the brick-built columns needed and two stations instead of only one). -
2020 Trains sets - Rumours and discussion
Klaus-Dieter replied to Klaus-Dieter's topic in LEGO Train Tech
There's a whole article about this at https://zusammengebaut.com/lego-monorail-feiert-in-lego-masters-in-den-usa-ihr-comeback-warum-87657/. Lego startet a whole tweet at https://twitter.com/LEGO_Group/status/1225242334348161025?ref_src=twsrc^tfw|twcamp^tweetembed|twterm^1225242334348161025&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2F writing "Raise your hand if you remember the first Town monorail set released in 1990". Why should they write "first" if none was coming next (as second one)?! Plus someone told that the person had seen the set. Sorry that because of security reasons I can't give you the exact source. -
Hello everybody! Since there have been several hints in the web - even some of Lego itself - that there will be some sort of new elevated train (like the Airport Shuttle Monorail, but this time of course with the rollercoaster tracks), I thought that it is time to open a fitting topic to discuss this year's Trains set(s). One question which keeps myself busy is: Will the new elevated train be sold as a Creator Expert set? The Maersk Container Train and the Horizont Express were released under the Creator Expert theme, too, although it's clear that most people use them in combination with City sets. Or will it be the rumored D2C City set? The set will for sure not be cheap. So an Exclusive might be possible. Or will it be a regular set as part of the City summer wave? - Some years ago the Heavy Haul Train was sold as part of the City wave although there were already two Trains sets in the same time in the City theme, too. Plus with the City Square in 2015 we got a very huge non-exclusive City set, too. What do you think?

Thank you very much for the news! The Jungle wave doesn't interest me. But from the other wave there might be some nice sets - esp. the water park. We'll see how the sets in the end will turn out.

LEGO City 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
Klaus-Dieter replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
@Brandon Pea: Nice to know you here! Well, I don't see why a supermarket wouldn't sell: Throw in a delivery truck, a civilian car and a bicycle plus a robber steeling something from the shop - and kids will like to play with it. -
Thank you very much for the news! For Pirates fans and fans of not-in-City-scale vehicles this is for sure a nice summer wave. But for someone like me who counted on another smaller fairground ride and mainly another townhouse (to add to the Café & Pet Shop and to the Toy Shop), the summer wave is only a disappointment!

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 20. Rumors and discussion

Thank you very much for the news! Nice to see the first leak. And I must say that - apart from the plain torso - I really like this first minifigure with accessory! -
LEGO City 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
Klaus-Dieter replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
First of all, thank you all very much for the news! That summer will see Airport and Deep Sea Exploration is very disappointing! For sure there might be some good sets. Nevertheless I hoped for something less repetitive - something like Harbor, Forest Exploration or TV Studios. When you carefully search through the web, you can find a very clear hint plus Lego's tweet with the Airport Shuttle picture - both brings me to the conclusion that the D2C set actually will be a monorail type set. For sure not a real monorail. But an elevated train which, because of the rollercoaster track pieces, even goes up and down. With us bedding for years and years for an updated monorail set, with the huge demand of the MOC in the Brickling AFOL Crowdfunding Project and with Lego reporting at the Nuremberg Toy Fair that ten percent are AFOL sales (not for their kids, but for themselves) and that they want to focus more on AFOLs, too, this makes even a lot of sense. 60268 was on a list, too, so my guesses are: 60268 - September release: Safari base or ski lift 60271 - D2C set; likely August release: elevated train (maybe has 18+ for AFOL service on the box) 60272 - August release: Minifigure pack Fun at the Airport 60273 - August release: supermarket 60274 - August release: bigger police or fire vehicle or another building 3 in 1 box What do you think? -
LEGO City 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
Klaus-Dieter replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
Now to the Great Vehicles: All in all I have to say that TLG keeps the high standard of this City subtheme - which I really appreciate: The Monster Truck looks very simple and boring. The Racing Boat Transport is more or less the same like the version of 2011 - the towing vehicle looks a bit better, but the boat itself much worse -, so really boring. And a lost opportunity to give us a much more attractive and even since long or even never seen before boat like a push boat, a small harbor tour boat, a sailing yacht etc. The Ice-Cream Truck looks great from the exterior and I highly welcome a new foodtruck. Unluckily the interior is absolutely weird with having several tiles in which the ice-cream pieces can be clipped - a huge let-down. Instead I would have liked to see one big counter in which all ice-cream pieces are - like it is in real life. The Postal Plane is a very nice set - simple, but functional and nice looking. The Street Sweeper looks so cute! The Safari Truck is simply aweseome and imo the best set of this series! The colors and desgin are perfect and that the lion woman comes with it is great, too. I don't comment on the bulldozer set since it's a Juniors and not a City set. Now to the Racing sets: The Stunt Team is a simple but nice set. On the one hand I agree with those who say that the Gas Station is too small. On the other hand its price is much lower than the one of the past one. Plus in principle everything needed is included and looks very well desigend. Plus there are two completely new cars: the SUV and the minibus which both look excellent. So all in all I'm very content with this set. The Racing Cars look very well designed! Plus I like the fact that one is an electric car (although you can argue that racing polutes our climate massively - so it's no matter whether you use an e-motor or a regular motor). The best set of this series and imo of the whole 1HY City wave at all is of course the Tuning Workshop which overbids my exceptions by far! There are so many different and amazing looking vehicles included, the caravan (altough its interior is regrettably a let-down because a table and a second chair are missing), the dog's hut and all that acessory make it looking absolutely realistic. Not to speak about the building itself with is imo a masterpiece: awesome and absolutely realisitc exterior as well as a very detailed interior (although it's bad that because of th 2x4 tiles in front of the working space you can't fix a minifigure there). I really hope that the summer sets will have the same standard like the Racing sets! -
Thank you very much for the information! Like always, I'm not interested in the set itself (although it's of course very well designed). But I spot some new or new colored elements which I think are very useful for the "regular" city, too: pigeon in dark azur (?) blue, leaf in lime and in yellow and a brand new element - the bird's nest - very nice!
-
Thank you all very much for the information! The toy shop looks great! There's a completely different architectual style in comparison to the last buildings. I like the facades on the front and the right side. Plus the small "tower" makes it looking really good. It's only a pity that there isn't more interior on the ground floor - esp. some more things on the wall would have been nice (only the three Lego sets make the wall looking to plain). In the rest of the sets I'm not interested. Btw: Did you notice, too, that there are (minimum) two new elements included: a 1x3x3 window frame and a 3x3 window glas? Unluckily without hinge function.

LEGO City 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
Klaus-Dieter replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
Thank you all very much for the info! I'll comment on the Great Vehicles and the Racing theme later, but at the moment I only wanted to share my following discovery: I looked at the detailed pics and noticed that the TV screen inside the gas station shows two soccer players and a goal. Since nearly all TV screen stickers of the past years showed things related to actual Lego sets, this made me thinking about following: Lego did conclude the license with Manchester United. Til now I thought this means that we'll get a licensed soccer theme on its own in summer 2020. Now I think different: Could it be that the 2020 summer City line will include a soccer subtheme "inspired by Manchester United" (on the lines of the 2019 space theme "inspired by NASA")? What do you mean? -
Thanks, ArneNielsen! I mixed that up. Now I corrected it. Of course Billund doesn't have a real skyline which you call a skyline like the one of NY etc. Nevertheless I bet that Lego fans would like a Billund "skyline" since it's the home of the brick.

The pictures can be found at https://www.thebrickfan.com/. The only set that may interest me is the Hair Salon. It seems to have some nice exterior as well as interior. Although I have to say that I'm disappointed that it is only one floor big and not that the building isn't smaller but has two floors - I hoped for something like the really amazing Art Studio from 2019.

LEGO City 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
Klaus-Dieter replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
Thank you very much for the link, @Digger of Bricks! I completely agree with @MAH4546! These all look like Juniors / 4+ / Town Junior sets! I'm really disappointed about 1. we're getting another bank and not something new like a jewelry store and 2. even more that this bank is only one floor big - that's a big regress! Hopefully the Great Vehicles and all the other sets then in 2020 won't be that low quality than these - if nevertheless, we really will need that CIty D2C set in order to get at least one interesting and nice City set that year! -
Yes, these two are definately a good idea to put in! I didn't think about them - English lessons at school are already so many years ago.

Chinese New Year’s Sets 2020 - Rumours and Discussion
Klaus-Dieter replied to Fenghuang0296's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Thank you very much for this news, Feng-huang02961! I agree that this was totally unexpected. But these sets look completely awesome! So many details and a lot of minifigures - that's how it should be! I definately am going to buy these two sets. Btw: Does this mean that Lego plans to release some China new year sets every year from now on? If so, what could be the next? Maybe a dragon dance (yes, there was already a set this year, but it was only for displaying and so not compatible with the dragon boat race, the Chinese house and now these two sets) with some sort of Chinese Wall or a small Asian castle?
