  1. Thank you very much for that information, legomilk and KimT! I'm really surprised that there'll be only six Castle sets next year including the awesome Medieval Market Village! If there'll be really only six sets next year, then this would mean that TLG will release - apart from the four sets we know until now - only two Impulse sets. Although I'm not very enthusiastic about the momentary "Castle" theme I must say that I'm a bit disappointed since only six sets means that there'll be no more great Castle Exclusive (like the brilliant 10193). Klaus-Dieter
  2. That's a very nice City layout for the beginning, Mariko! Sorry for the late comment, Mariko. I really like the interiors you added to your MOC houses - very nice! What about the interior of the post office - do you have some pics of it, too? The yellow house fits very well at this location. The police station, too (a police station has to be in every city - unindependent from how big the town is ). I really like to see that you added your great fountain, some road plates and some street lanterns to your City - additional stuff makes the whole thing looking much more reaslistic and lovely! Perhaps a tip: If you've got the money and the place to store it, then you should really buy the amazing Town Plan. It's really (I of course bought it immediately in january) and grades up your city immensly. Klaus-Dieter
  3. Great poll idea, darthperson! I voted for the Jester since it's simply the best minifig of all! The medieval maiden is really cool, too. But since there hasn't been a jester until now I think that the most of us are very glad to have this minifig. Klaus-Dieter
  4. Great poll idea, WhiteFang! I voted for Majestic Knight (Royal Lions) since I like this one the best. But I must say that - apart from the Sky Knight's and the Scorpion Knight's bardings - I like all of them since they are really well designed. Btw: The Sky Knight and the Scorpion Knight are from KK2, not KK1. But that doesn't matter. Klaus-Dieter
  5. I'm glad to hear that the red color was the right decision - thanks. Thank you very much for your nice comment, Captain green hair! But for what are stairs needed?! I think minifigs always waver to the rooms upstairs and when they want to get downstairs then they wave to the rooms downstairs - at least it was the case until now in nearly every Lego building. No, joking apart: I wanted to design a custom City set and not a CC styled building since I don't like official buildings with backwalls. And since there have nearly never been some City sets with buildings which have stairs I decided to do so in my LDD City MOCs, too. Klaus-Dieter
  6. Thank you very much for the new pic, commanderbly42 and darthperson for the new information! When looking at the first pic of the Solar Sailor I'd say it's too early to say whether it's a good or a bad set since you can't see details like the cockpit, minifigs, etc. But I must say that I'm a bit angry: There are appearing more and more non-OT sets for early 2009. So why do the (only-)OT fans of us (me of course included) have to wait so long until fall 2009 until the other OT sets will be released?! TLG could release at least one other OT set (like e. g. the Echo Base) in spring 2009! BTW: I don't see that clearly on the pic of the Republic Attack Shuttle but does it include a gangway on the bottom of the interior of the shuttle? Klaus-Dieter
  7. Thank you very much for your nice comments, Asuka, djo, Mariko and TheBrickster! Thanks, Asuka! I wasn't sure whether I should add a red or a white capony to the entry. Do you think that a white one would have been better? Thanks, djo! Nice to hear that you like the interior. It's a bit difficult with LDD to design it really in that way you want it. But I, too, think that it isn't too bad. Thanks, Mariko! Like I already mentioned: The interior is often a bit difficult to design with LDD. So it was actually only because of the limited brick palette that I designed those beds like they are now. Thanky, TheBrickster! The idea with the tiles is a really good one - thanks. When designing my next LDD MOC and making a sign like in this my MOC I'll remember your suggestion for improvement. Klaus-Dieter
  8. That's an excellent MOC, erao! I really the interior of the Lego Store - it looks so realsitic, with so many nice and lovely details! Especially the PaB buckets look very realsitic! And all the sets everywhere and the big model of the ISD/RSD! I wish and hope that TLG one day will release a Lego Store, too! Very, very well done! Klaus-Dieter
  9. Thank you very much for your nice comments, welcomestranger and TheBrickster! Thanks, welcomestranger! I tried the best possible possibility to desgin it as realistic as possible. Thank you very muc´h for the compliment, TheBrickster! Yes, it was simply my aim to design some city buildings in the "classic" style since the new buildings which TLG offered in the last 10 years were not that interesting and charming like the ones from the 70s and 80s. Plus I really like nature, foliage and calmness - so a park to relax is something which should really exist not only in every real city but even in every Lego City. And for me the minifigs and details are the heart of every set - so I tried to account for them in my model(s), too. Everybody can order them via Lego Factory (I think). The simply reason for why I don't buy LDD MOCs is because I want a lot of official City and SW OT sets (you can see in my signature) and so I have to spend my money on theses official sets. But around Christmas I'll show you a big (non-LDD) City MOC (but with no official character like the most of my LDD MOCs) which you surely will like (or at least I hope so ). Klaus-Dieter
  10. Ok, then sorry for the misunderstanding. From what we've seen until now - and that is the awesome Medieval Market Village - I totally agree with you on the great new set designs, KimT. It was already mentioned that there'll be another S@H exclusive set next year, too - so there's hope for another very well designed, more on AFOLs, more classic Castle style and medieval stuff based set. Klaus-Dieter
  11. I totally agree with you, hollisbrick. Dragon knights would be great, too. But as well as Arabic knights I don't see them happen in the next (at least two) years. You have to think from TLG's point of view: The fantasy area sets sell very well. Dragon knights as well as Arabic knights don't offer that much fantasy potential like the fractions which TLG releases at the moment. Ok, the Arabic knights might get a genie in a bottle and the dragon knights get of course a dragon - but that's it. Nervetheless I'm sure - and I really hope, too - that in about at the latest five years (until then the fantasy elements for the Castle theme will be utilised) TLG will take the direction "back to the roots" in the Castle theme, too , like they did in the City and the Pirate theme and where they made an excellent job until now . Klaus-Dieter
  12. So you mean that TLG already changed the emblems of the knights, natelite and KimT? I'm a bit sceptic about that since I think that the neyt year's Castle sets will be some sort of continuation of last but mainly this year. And since we'll get a troll forstress and a king's carriage it sounds unbelievable and even not comprehensible that TLG will change the king's and the trolls' emblems since this would mean that these are now new fractions. And since the jester shall appear in one of the new sets, too. - But surely you're right: With the next new fraction TLG will surely introduce new emblems - at least new emblems of the new fraction. I totally agree with you, hewkii9. Arabic knights would be so ! But unluckily I don't see them cming before a whole new Castle line since arabic knights + fantasy would be ? and surely be not great. Arabic knights have to be released in sets like the sets of the 90s. And that I regrettably don't see happen in the next years. Yes, she is, KimT. Klaus-Dieter
  13. B-OV-6E Hello everybody! Here's my second part of my City Center: City Center part 2 Pieces: 339 Lego Factory Price: 60,44 Euros You're on a trip through your Lego City. After you had eaten your sandwich and relaxed in the park it's getting evening and you're searching for a doss for the night. So why not going to the excellent hotel?! The second part of the City Center includes a hotel with entrance, reception, foyer, a little and a big guest room, a flower bed, a bench, a female guest and two bellboys. Comments are welcome! Klaus-Dieter
  14. That's a very realistic set list, natelite! But don't forget the very supposable second S@H set (persumably the jubilee set). I totally agree with you, hewkii9! TLG is - concerning Castle - (regrettably) now in the fantasy area . And this (regrettably) surely won't change in the next years. All these fantasy sets are selling well - so it would be counterproductive to stop this when you think from TLG's perception. I think that in 2010 you'll get your so wanted elves. But then in 2011 TLG will surely again change the emblems in order to release a new knig's castle (at least the past shows that there has -after the first king's castle - always been a knig's castle in period of some years). As for the pictures (not only for the new Castle sets but for all new non-exclusive sets) I fear we'll have to wait until January or even unitl the middle of February (NY toy fair). Klaus-Dieter
  15. That's simply brilliant, Aliencat! I really  your Castle MOC! This is really a masterpieces of work! All these details and this authenticity! The astral array of the wall pieces is a really good idea and surely even difficult work. The emblems of the strangers look perfect, too. Very, very well done! Btw: Did you add some interior to the buildings, too? If so, do you plan to show us some pics of them, too? And even: Very late but nevertheless: Welcome to EB, Aliencat! Klaus-Dieter

    City '09?

Thank you very much for the pic, Dr. Brick! I totally agree with you: The Farm set is really cool - but 70 Euros for it is imo too much since there are regrettably only the two big vehicles and not much more. But ok, we called for some farm sets - now we got them. And they're surely not bad and I'll buy apart from the horse trailer all of them. But a very well designed farm house and some more additional vehicles, tools and animals would be nevertheless not bad!!! Thank you very much for that information, hewman and WhiteFang! City Corner sounds very promising! Perhaps a little Cafe Corner version in the City theme?! At all events I hope this set will include a building very similar to the very well designed one in the new Construction Site set, but of course with interior - that would be totally awesome! Btw: Very late but nevertheless: Welcome to EB, Pierre Cochereau! Klaus-Dieter
  17. Hello, TheBrickster! First of all to my shame I have to admit that I didn't know that there is a forum called Classic-Town.net. Secondly there are so many forums all over the web which have to do with Lego that a 24h day isn't enough to comment on everything. When I'm surfing through the web when wanting to know something about Lego MOCs and sets it's always EB, BS and brickset. Please don't understand me wrong: I really admire people like you and WhiteFang and all our admins which really do a great job and really work hard. Thank you very much! Thirdly I must acknowledge that I'm offended since you didn't comment on one of my topics since about July - so why should I?! But now to the content of the poll: I voted for MOCs from the Lego Community since I think there are only few people who comment on MOCs of EBers twice - on EB and in another forum. I even think that news about new sets is published the first time on BS, on jedinews (concerning SW) and here on EB - so it would imo make not much sense to add it to your forum since many people would then already have read it. Imo the best would be to show MOCs from non-EBers and to give building tips. From what I did now see I must say that you created a very nice, clearly laid out and very well designed forum! The most I like the Christmas MOCs you now show there. Klaus-Dieter
  18. These are the minifigs which appear in the awesome 10193 Medieval Market Village set, Pickerel. KimT, I didn't say that I really hate all elements which are fantasy based in the Castle theme - e. g. the knight's armor is really looking great even though it's not historically correct. Imo a mixture between real and correct history and fantasy (a mixture how TLG did with the Castle sets until 2000) is perfect. But of course I accept your opinion, too. Btw: I know that brickipedia is not a 100 percent reliable source. But there I found the information that the trolls' caslte shall include 784 pieces and seven minifigs and shall cost 59,99 Dollars. The number of minifigs sounds realistic, the price imo not since it surely will be about the same price as the king's castle I think. Klaus-Dieter
  19. Thank you very much for this advent calendar with the mystery raffle, Sinner and all the others who organise and pay it! I find it very nice and noble that you're extending this to us! Unluckily I missed that event and consequently didn't sign up . So I'll have to look after these events next year more precisely. Nevertheless again thank you very much! Klaus-Dieter
  20. Here's my vote: I voted for Average since + it's a very well designed set - but there is not something new to it - apart from the grey instead of the blue colors - and there is nothing attractive including in this set - like e. g. an Imperial Engineer with a little vehicle etc. - which would justify to adore this set as something very special and awesome - and the helm is much too humble . For me it's the same set like the older versions. The fast that it comes in grey instead of blue colors is for me . That it does not include something speical like a new minifig is imo a shame and does not justify to release it as a 10th birthday set . So I personally don't understand why many people are that euphoric about this set. But ok. There'll surely be enough other awesome OT sets for 2009 which I'll surely like very much. Klaus-Dieter
  21. Thank you very much for that news, Whitefang and ultraman_bc! To the golden knight: I think he'll surely be very similar to the golden knight Playmobil released some years ago. I totally agree with you, sir dano! In principle it's already wrong to use that knight's armor TLG uses since at that time when there was heyday of the Middle Ages knights only wore mail shirts. But that's ok since it's a cliche that knights wore at that time full heavy knight's armors. But golden knight's armors is really too much! I do not doubt that this golden knight will look great. But you must simply when you want to include him in your castle layout since knights really did never wear golden armors - and if however in a fantasy world or some legends they surely would not have used them since all the gold would have been gone in battles. To the many new minifigs: I don't think that we can - apart from the golden knight - await even more new minifigs than we already know: queen, troll queen, black suited medieval woman, medieval citizen and blacksmith. These are already 5 new figs. And with the golden knight it would be 6. I think that there surely won't be more since already 6 are many. To the jester and the queen in the King's Battle Chariot: I highly doubt that the queen and the jester will appear in this set since it's called King's Battle Chariot. And I even think that they won't appear together in one set (unless it'll be a tournament set ). More realistic I think would be that the jester or the queen is a prisoner of the troll queen. So let's hope for soon more information and/or pics! Klaus-Dieter
  22. Thank you very much for your nice comment, Section8! Thank you very much for the compliment. But there are surely other people who (would) desgin sets more perfectly than I do. I momentarily don't plan to build it (I need to save money for next year's awesome City, Castle Exclusives and Star Wars sets). But I built and will build some other (of course not that official style similar) city buildings which I'll show you from time to time. Klaus-Dieter
  23. I think that getting a police station, a fire station and some road plates is a good start. What imo you should of course never miss is - like Dennimator already mentioned - the awesome 10184 Town Plan . It's a great possibility to include some civilian stuff into your town. Plus you already then have a garage. Buying lots of minifigs - like djo already mentioned - is necessary for a good town, too. I don't know how often I already bought seperate minifigs from Ebay and Lego. But minifigs are imo really the "heart" of every set - and consequently even every set. TLG is including only very less minifigs in the City sets - although I must say that they're now doing better and better. So you might buy some seperate minifigs, Impulse sets are good and you can even buy the City Minifigure Collection in january. Now another hint: I'd spend a lot of money for next year and the year after next year: There'll be a garage and some sort of city life set (whatever it'll be - but surely it'll include minimum one civilian house ) and the Farm sets (if you want to add some suburban stuff to your city, too). Perhaps there'll even be a wind power plant . And for 2010 I think we do have to expect minimum as awesome sets as for next year. I hope I could help. And btw: Welcome to EB, donneyboy! Klaus-Dieter
  24. The dark side of the Force duh! I thought as much, KimT! Btw: I bet that - since TLG redesigned Vader's TIE for next year - we'll surely see a new version of the regular TIE Fighter in 2010. Klaus-Dieter
  25. Thank you very much for that great review, Ras! Like already mentioned in CopMike's review of the box of this set I must say that it's very well designed - but imo needless. Btw: Ras, was that chrome-black Vader minifig included in the set itself or did you get it seperated? And do you know whether these chrome-black Vader minifigs limited (like the golden C-3POs last year) (since you mentioned that there are 1000 for Sweden)? Klaus-Dieter
