  1. A quick question: Does someone know or can imagine if at all and if yes, which Factory set(s) we might get in 2009? After the S@H pol of this year's early summer l I'd say that some/one Western set/sets is/are imo very supposable - but not in 2009 since there is already the new Pirates theme. What do you think? Klaus-Dieter
  2. Great contest, TheBrickster! Firstly I must say that these are all great entires which are all very well designed! EvilDead, Dennimator and Dr. Brick were shortlisted since they all did an excellent design! So it was very hard to vote for one single person. But I thought several times about that and then came to the conclusion that I voted for Dr. Brick since his MOC looks the most festive and cute . Klaus-Dieter

Thank you very much for this additional information, ultraman_bc! The pizzeria has an attic, so there are even three floors!!! Btw: I forgot to ask: The bicycle shop is only one floor big? Have you seen which interior there is included? Which color(s) do(es) the new (?) bicycle(s) have? How big is the bus? DOes the bus station include a little cottage, too, or is it only a little plate with two seats and a "bus" sign? Are there some foliage plants included in this set? (Sorry for that many questions but I'm very excited about that set! ) Klaus-Dieter
  4. Thank you very much for that information, ultraman_bc! So the persumable black minifig will be supposably a DS Trooper since I think that TLG regrettably does not include more than two new minifigs (here: Endor Leia and Endor Rebel Trooper) in a new OT set. It would be really a pity to get no black suited Imp. Officer. On the other hand a DS Trooper would be great, too. So let's wait for clear pics. Klaus-Dieter
  5. Thank you very much for your nice comment, Darth_Legois! To your "claim" : I originally wanted to add orange transparent heads to the "dolls" - I really don't know why I didn't. The equipment of the muldimedia department is really too little but I don't have more electronic stuff which I could have used for it. Klaus-Dieter
  6. Thank you very much for the information, ultraman_bc and for the links to the pics, sir dano! Like I feared the new "Castle" sets will be more fantasy than castle. Well, it's like it is. On the other hand I'm not so angry about that since there will be a huge mass of excellent City and SW OT sets next year plus we'll get the amazing 10193 set so that my money isn't sufficient for already all of them. Germany 99.99 EUR Austria 99.99 EUR Belgium 99.99 EUR Spain 99.95 EUR Finland 99.99 EUR France 109.99 EUR Ireland 116.99 EUR Italy 99.99 EUR Luxembourg 99.99 EUR Netherland 99.99 EUR Portugal 99.95 EUR EUR countries only (avoid change rates), why do France and Ireland have to pay more? By the way buying the set from an UK Ebay seller will be cheaper than ordering it from shop at home France obviously. I know that TLC has already explained the price differences between US and the rest of the world, but i guess the reasons for Europe are a little bit different (Taxes perhaps?). Thank you very much for that information, furious and enoa! I'm really surprised that TLG didn't rise the price for this awesome set! Let's hope that the 99,99 Euros for Germany will stay for the next two weeks - after that I'll have ordered it and then it may cost one million Euros! Klaus-Dieter

I totally agree with Zobras - you must be Santa Claus, ultraman_bc! Thank you very much for that news, ultraman_bc! These sets sound very promising - the most the City Corner and the Camper! To the 7639 Camper: Sounds really great - with surf board, bicycle and car doors! Hopefully it'll include some nice interior, too. The only thing which its really a pity that there is no kid included in the set. After having seen the pics of the awesome 10193 Medieval Market Village I hoped that in future City sets there'll be complete familys included! To the 7641 City Corner: Shops and a bus!!! And a two floor big civilian building! It's great that we'll get a bicycle shop and a pizzeria! Although I already own these kinds of buildings I surely will buy them again. I bet that the pizzeria will have the kitchen with entrance downstairs and the "room to eat" (sorry for my bad English!) upstairs. Great to hear that ther'll be five minifigs in this set and the bus will include doors! I hope that the bus is not bigger than six stuck wide! The only thing I really miss is a post office! Where is it?! Why do we get a post van and a post plane this year but then no post office?! To the 7642 Garage: Commonly configuration but there seem to be some very nice new details like a winch and a mechanical platform. The car constellation sounds very promising, too. I think that you need to have pics in order to judge whether it's a great set. Supposably I won't buy this set since I already own two garages. The only reason might be if it had a very nice interior and great desgin. To the 8402 Sports Car: A convertible with minifig as a seperate set! That's great in order to get more cars without having to buy big and expensive sets for several times! To the 7638 Tow Truck: Sounds like a good set - but for me not that spectacular. Nevertheless it'll surely be a great set for JFOLs which don't have many civilian City sets until now. I'm really looking forward to see pics of the Sports Car, the Camper and the City Corner - and then to buy them next summer! Civilian buildings on! Klaus-Dieter
  8. Thank you very much for that news, ultraman_bc! That's really brilliant news! To the 7749 Echo Base: Great to see TLG releasing a BP with both Snowtroopers and Hoth Rebel Troopers in it! And we finally get a Tauntaun! The only thing which I wouldn't like is if the minifig on the Tauntaun will be Han - a Rebel Commander (or at least a Hoth Luke minifig) would me much, much, much better! To the 8038 The Battle of Endor: Sound really good! I'm very surprised to hear that there'll be two Endor Rebel Troopers included in this set - personally I would have prefered some DS Troopers (since I'm not aible to afford the DS). Lots of minifigs! What did I say?! - There'll be an AT-ST in the set! The base will surely be only very little - so let's hope that there'll be some interior in it! Imperial Officer - did you see whether he wears a black suit? - That would be ! To the other sets of which there aren't pics: I think that they'll be all S@H Exclusives - at least the Home One playset. Klaus-Dieter

Yes, I totally agree with you, Yeow. Plus kids don't take much care about whether the benchmark of cars to houses is correct or not. But I even do totally agree with Lego Amaryl and Grievous, too: civilian cars should be four stuck wide and trucks six stuck wide. And it's right: When TLG amplifies the benchmark of cars, they should do with houses, too. Imo it would be the best to make civilian cars not bigger than four stuck wide and trucks not bigger than six stuck wide since too big vehicles don't look any longer like Lego but like sheap plastic toys - and I think that neither we nor TLG wants that (or at least I hope so)! Btw: I forgot to mentioned that I'm really surprised that there won't be any Impulse sets in the rest of 2009. Where is my post officer with his yellow cycle?! Klaus-Dieter
  10. I forgot to make an addition to the list from Wikipedia somebody posted some time ago: I really don't think that TLG will release the two remainded sets from the poll for the TRU exclusive set yet in 2009. But I can well imagine that TLG will release the Palpatine's Arrest set and the Slave One set in the beginning of 2010. And - like in some of the last years - it might then be that these sets will already be for sale around Christmas. So this list would make sense. That's only a thought. What do you think? Klaus-Dieter

    City '09?

I totally agree with you, WhiteFang! Retail shops (and mainly a food shop) would be simply ! When you look at the prices I "translated" from kiddiwinks it's very unlikely that the City Corner will include a bus station and a bus since these two elements would already be the price without anything else. If a bus and a bus station will be included in the garage set is hard to say. On the one hand I do disbelieve it since the combination would be a bit strange. On the other hand the set seems to be around 90 Euros - so there would be enough space left. Thank you very much for that information, Lord Santos! I would be really not disappointed when there would be no CC styled buildings since I don't like and buy them. Imo it's hard to say whether the City Corner will be the Town Plan style set you mentioned: When you look at the prices I "translated" from kiddiwinks it's very unlikely that the City Corner will be more than 60 Euros. And so either the buildings in this set would have to be only very little (perhaps even only one floor big) which would be - or there'll be another City S@H Exclusive. On the other hand I don't think that TLG will release another Town Plan style Exclusive only one year after the excellent 10184. And since there shall even be a train exclusive set it's imo very unlikely that there'll be another big City exclusive set. But of course we don't know. I think we'll have to wait for pics in order to know more. Like Dennimator already asked: Do you know in which set the bus with station will appear or won't there be one in 2009, Lord Santos? Klaus-Dieter
  12. These are excellent MOCs, Ralph_S! I really set since they're looking such realistic, very well built and not too big with six stuck wide! Very well done! Klaus-Dieter
  13. Thank you very much for your nice comments, darthperson and Dennimator! Thanks, darthperson! Nice to read that you like the interior. I firstly wanted to add some stickers to the walls inside, too (then the interior surely would have looked even better), but at that time my academic studies began and so I was even glad to finish the MOC. Thanks, Dennimator! The baseplates should really be cleaned, that's right. Klaus-Dieter
  14. For those of you who are interested: I checked the prices on kiddiwinks for these new sets and translated them (circa) into Euros (no guarantee! ): 7078 King's Battle Chariot - 22,50-24,99 Euros - I think that it'll be 24,99 Euros 7079 Drawbridge Defence - 45-49,99 Euros - I think that it'll be 49,99 Euros 7097 Trolls' Mountain Fortress - 108-119,99 Euros - it's very hard to imagine what TLG did include in this set that the price is that high?!, I think 109,99-119,99 Euros Since the Trolls' Mountain Fortress is going to be that expensive it's no wonder that there'll be only two more additional Castle sets. Btw: Whung's list didn't mentioned these two more sets. So do you think they both will be exclusive sets? - I'm very sceptic about that since three exclusive Castel sets sounds to me very unrealistic. Klaus-Dieter
  15. Quite possibly but we don't even know if she'll be included in the set or not. I totally agree with TimBit. If there was Mon Mothma included in this set it's imo very supposably that she'll wear one of these hair pieces. But we even don't know yet if she'll be included in this set or not. Of course I hope so - how would that be - but I think that the chances for that are low. This set will surely come with an Admiral Ackbar minifig. And when you remember one of these chats we were able to read then TLG even planed to include two Endor Rebel Troopers. And since it'll supposablybe a set for 100-120 Euros I fear that TLG will only include two minfigs. An annotation to the Mid-scale Millennium Falcon

Thank you very much, WhiteFang! What is concerning City imo TLG has done very well in the last two years. But only from judging from the sets list for next year's summer, next year is going to be a historical step in TLG's set development - and a historical step in the development of our Lego City collections - since civilian stuff is the best thing you can get for your Lego City (since the most of us - me included - own enough police, fire, construction and emergency sets). Thank you very much for the pics of the helicopter transporter set and the price, metalandi! This helicopter transporter really doesn't look bad! The helicopter itself is so , the motorcycle is great and the transport vehicle is nice, too. The only problem I have is the big size of it. Otherwise it's great and it's even great to see that TLG included doors in the transport vehicle - please car doors for every car in future sets, TLG! I earnestly think about whether I'll buy it or not. It'll depend on how great all the other City and SW OT sets will be of which we regrettably haven't seen pics until now. I thought that it would be useful to post whung's list of the summer/fall City sets here, too: Firstly again thank you very much for this information, whung! I'm really very surprised what the City Corner will include. Perhaps a post station? At least this would be obvious since we got a post van and a post plane this year. If there wasn't a post office next year then this would be . There was a rumor about a pizzeria, too. Sports car sounds interesting. Surely it'll include a car very similar to the one in the gas station set (but hopefully with doors!) and one minifig. Great to see the wind turbine transport confirmed! For that I decided to post Lord Santos comment, too: Thank you again very much for that information, Lord Santos! Great to hear that there'll be the same turbine for us available like for the Vestas employees and customers - only that it's really a shame that we won't be aible to get the little lovely cottage and the great service vehicle which came with the promo version . And there is again some news: Thank you again very much for that information, legomilk! That sounds good that the new train set will be a City set and not again only a train-building-set like the boring Hobby Train some years ago! I'm really surprised that there'll be no regular released train sets next year - only an exclusive one. I wonder what it'll be - hard to guess. For those of you who are interested: I checked the prices on kiddiwinks for these new sets and translated them (circa) into Euros (no guarantee! ): 7638 Tow Truck - 13-15 Euros - I think it'll be 15,49 Euros 7639 Camper - 18-20 Euros - I think it'll be 19,99 Euros 7641 City Corner - 54-60 Euros - I think it'll be 59,99 Euros 7642 Garage - 90-100 Euros - I think it'll be 89,99 Euros 7686 Helicopter Transporter - 31-35 Euros - we know from metalandi that it'll be 29,99 Euros (in Germany) 7687 LEGO® City Advent Calendar - 27-30 Euros - this price seems to be much too high, I think it'l be 19,99 Euros 7747 Wind Turbine Transport - 54-60 Euros - that seems to be a bit too low when you think that it shall include the turbine and a transport vehicle, I think 69,99-99,99 Euros - but of course I'd be glad if it wasn't that expensive 8402 Sports Car - 8-9 Euros - I think it'll be 8,99 Euros To the train set: It'll imo be surely minimum 159,99 Euros (like the last cargo train) since it'll be a mainly for AFOLs designed train. Klaus-Dieter
  18. B-OV-7C Hello everybody! Christmas is very near and so I decided to present you one of my City MOCs. I desgined this one in last year's September. So please have a look: Shopping Mile When you want to go shopping (you perhaps need the last gifts for Christmas for your girlfriend/boyfriend, your wife/husband, your childs or perhaps even for yourself ) you can pass by the famous shopping mile: In the house on the left side you can find a big fashion and sportswear store: On the first floor there are the women's clothes, on the second floor there are the men's clothes and on the third floor there are the kids' clothes. In the next house to it there is a little (ice) cafe: Either you have a drink at the bar downstairs or you have a seat upstairs for e. g. drinking a coffee and eating a cake. And next to this house there is a streetwear shop: On the first floor you can find the cash point, skateboars and baseball caps and on the second floor there are the clothes and shoes. On the right side you can find a department store: On its first floor there is the perfumery and the sale of suitcases, hats, etc., on its second floor you can find the toys department of course with two huge frames with Lego sets and on its third floor there is the multimedia and the household department. On the very left side of the shopping mile you can find a little extension with a depot and a greengrocer. You can find many more pics of this my MOC in this folder of my BS gallery (when public). !!! Annotation: The labels of the fashion and sportswear department, the label of the streetwear shop and the label of the department store are labels of in Germany real existing companies. This shall not hurt any rights or trademarks of this companys. This shall even be no surreptitious advertising. These labels are only there in order to give my MOC a more realistic and interesting desgin. !!! Comments are welcome! Klaus-Dieter
  19. Thank you very much for your nice comment, Section8! I feared that this question will arise! The yellow 1x1 cylinder is there because the letters of "hotel" are an impair number. And since the building - and with it even the "letters" on top of it - should be symmetric I thought about what to do. And then I had the idea to add the yellow 1x1 cylinder to the H. If you want to you can take it as a star to show that this is a hotel with the quality of one star. Klaus-Dieter
  20. Thank you very much for the list of the new sets, whung! The new City and SW OT sets sound really promising! I can't wait to see pics! Thank you very much for that information, Lord Santos! Great to hear that there'll be the same turbine for us available like for the Vestas employees and customers - only that it's really a shame that we won't be aible to get the little lovely cottage and the great service vehicle which came with the promo version . Thank you very much for that information, legomilk! That sounds good that the new train set will be a City set and not again only a train-building-set like the boring Hobby Train some years ago! Klaus-Dieter
  21. Thank you very much for the list, KimT! Great to here that TLG decided to release the Home One set! Surely it won't be the whole ship - but it'll surely be great and give us at long last Ackbar (and perhaps even Mon Mothma - I hope) ! Btw: Has someone heard something new about the possible Tantive 4 UCS playset? Klaus-Dieter
  22. Thank you very much for that great review, emilec! This is a so set! I can't await ordering and then building it up. Klaus-Dieter
  23. Great to hear that TLG is interested in input from us about new themes! Great ideas, Mocha! I really would like all of them! You're totally right, Snake...SNAKE...SNAAAAKE?!! A new Western theme would be absolutely ! JFOLs would love it because they even like to play cowboys and Indians. AFOLs would love it, too, if there were some sets released which were regrettably missed in the last theme: Saloon, train with train station, stage coach with post office, farm, ... Excellent Western MOCs of our members BrickMiner and TheBrickster can be found here and here. I designed some WW MOCs with LDD which you can find here. Apart from Western which has priority, I secondly have wishes for four other new themes, too (which I arranged according to the imprtance for me): Theme Name: Ghost Town Characters: cowboys, ghost cowboys, ghosts, skelettons Conflict: Some cowboys are traveling through the Wild West. They cross a dreaded valley which no human has left alive until now. But the cowboys are strong. They do not want to die. And they want to find the immense treasure which shall hide in a haunted gold mine ... Setting: a dessert which is surrounded with tall rocks, a ghost town, a ghost train, a nightmare stage coach, a haunted mine, a haunted house, ... Background Info: This theme can either tie in with the excellent Western theme of 1996/97 or be a totally seperate new theme. Excellent Ghost Town MOCs of our members BrickMiner and TheBrickster can be found here and here. Theme Name: Indians Characters: Apaches and Comanches - warriors, medicin man, civilians, buffaloes, ... Conflict: The two tribes of the Apaches and the Comanches have some conflicts. Can they find a peaceful solution or will they have to fight against each other? Setting: two Indian villiages (one for the Comanches and one for the Apaches), big river, forest, secret grot, plains for hunting buffaloes ... Background Info: This theme can either tie in with the excellent Indian theme of 1997 or be a totally seperate new theme. Theme Name: Ancient Rome Characters: gladiators, wild animals, Roman warriors, Roman citizens, Cesar, Gallic warriors, Gallic citizens, elephants, ... Conflict: The Romans want to defeat the Gallics rebellion whereas gladiators fight against wild animals in the colloseum. Setting: There are two "settings": The battle front at an Gallic village with catapults, many warriors, ... - and in contrast to that: Rome with some very wealthy and well-known buildings such like the colloseum, a Roman villa with garden, a thermae, a chariot race, ... Background Info: This theme should be as much historical correct as possible - consequently no monsters, phantasy creatures, ... A MOC of mine which demonstrates a Roman villa can be found here. Theme Name: Ancient Egypt Characters: pharaohs, mummys, grave robbers, Egypt warriors, "buttlers", Egypt citizens, camels, ... Conflict: The pyramids and temples for the dead pharaoh are finished. The mummy is transported with the "dead's ship" to its last home. After the "buttlers" closed the grave chamber and go back into their home some grave robbers arrive in order to steel the mummy and the big treasures which went with it into the grave chamber. But luckily there are some Egypt warriors which look after these treasures ... Setting: pyramid(s), temple(s), oasis with some civilian buildings, dessert Background Info: This theme should be as much historical correct as possible - consequently no monsters, phantasy creatures, ... The grave robbers should be from the same time period like the dead pharaohs (no adventure people of the 19th-20th century). Thanks for reading. Klaus-Dieter

Thank you very much for that pic, metalandi! That's surely the airline promo set we read on the list. Imo it is really not that stunning: Only one creator-like looking plane , two minifigs, some goblets and a yellow "whatever" - that's ! But never mind: I'm glad to see that it's really not an interesting set since it would be (like with all airplane promo sets) very expensive to buy. Since we've got already the pic of this promo set, I hope we'll see some pics of the regular summer City sets soon. Klaus-Dieter
