Thank you all very much for your nice comments! Thanks, Eilif! Yes, I wanted to include as many shops into this mall as possible to increase playability and authencity. As for the little cafe: There has always to be some food-themed stuff in a big set. And since I would so much like to see a Lego Store I added one to the set, too. As for the other sets I thought that it would be very nice to have some shops TLG never released before, too. Thanks, BlueBard! Willingly I want to take part in your project. Please only give me some time since I'm very buisy at the moment, ok? Thanks, Eskallon and Loganwan! Firstly I didn't aim to include a balcony in the mall. But then I thought that with it it would look much more interesting and realistic - and I think it does now. It took me a very long time to build the entrance since I changed the mosaic on the floor very often. Do you like it? Thanks, Razzer! For me the minifigs are the heart of every set. So I decied to add not only boring "common" male minifigs to my MOC but even a security officer, two woman and a kid. Thanks, legofan! I can consolate you: Building a car in LDD is much more difficult than building a house! Thanks, Ralph! When you design a mall please show it to us then, too! Klaus-Dieter

Yesterday evening I had a lambency when I looked at the pic of the Temple of Doom. Why?! Because there are some new tracks on which a train can drive up and down. And what has that now to do with this topic here?! We already have got the information about an exclusive train set for this year which shall be desgined for mainly AFOLs. And now?! Since this year is an absolutely amazing year - supposably the best year considering Lego City sets - where TLG does not only release totally new City subthemes and sets (like the great Farm theme) but even releases some in some points re-designed sets (like e. g. the City Corner which shows parallels to sets like the old Main Street or the ols Town Square) it might well be that TLG releases a in some points re-designed train set, too. So what about a re-deisgn of this set: There are four reasons which speak for a re-design of this set: 1. The new tracks on which a train can drive up and down exchange the monorail tracks. -The new train shall be driven by PFs. So there is no problem to drive up and down these new tracks. Plus the grade is not too bis so that the motor can carry the train up. -It wouldn't be profitable to release a new and big mold for only one set. 2. A lot of AFOLs (me included!) surely would love a re-design of the amazing Airport Shuttle set and consequently buy it! 3. The cargo train and the passenger train seem to be yet in production. So another passenger train or cargo train - even if it would be desgined completely different and with much more details and accesories - wouldn't be very different and consequently even not been sold that much. But a set similar to that would be something absolutely excepptional. 4. An exclusive train which is built after the archetype of European trains wouldn't sell that good in America - and an exclusive train which is built after the archetype of American trains wouldn't sell that good in Europe. But a set similar to that one isn't specialised on one country or continent and so would sell much better. After having seen the pic of this IJ set I was quite sure and still am sure that we'll get a re-design of the Airport Shuttle - so let's see whether I'm right or wrong. What do you think? Thank you very much for that information and for the pic and the link, Steff! To the game: Oh well! It looks a bit - . Imo not very much like if there is a really interesting idea behind it. I totally agree with you, metalandi! But when you look at the boxart of the game you see that if TLG releases a new Egypt theme in the nearer future then it surely will be adventured themed. Again thank you all very, very much for your many votes and great comments! I think it's now time to dare announce a result of this poll with some personal comments of me: Stone Age Like you can see when looking at the votes it's not a very demanded theme. I even think that it wouldn't be that a good theme since it would only offer very few sets: a cave with fireplacce, a mammoth hunt and perhaps some little sets as addition. But what would you then do with them?! Of course it would be surely great to see some Stone Age related sets (TLG could even not release some sets of the Old Stone Age - but even some of the New Stone Age with some huts and fields). But think about TLG's point of view: The main audience of (not excusvie) Lego sets buyers are JFOLs. And what shall they do with some Stone Age people and mammoth. Plus TLG is supposably interested to release not only some very few sets but (about a period of some years) a lot of sets. For these reasons I don't think that TLG is going to release a Stone Age theme in 2011 - and persumably even not at any point in the future. Egypts I wonder that only very few people voted for this theme. But the chance with this theme is that you can combine it with a possible Roman theme (like Playmobil did)! TLG released a lot of amazing Egyptian buildings and monuments in the Adventure sets in the late 90ths. And they seemed to sell very well. And the Playmobil Egypt sets seem to sell very well, too. Because of this reasons I could well imagine TLG releasing a new Eqypt theme - persumably not in 2011 but surely some time after that. Greeks with and without fantasy I

Thank you very much for this great review, liquidcross! I voted for Above Average since I really like this very detailed and very realistic looking tractor. And the minifig is great, too. The only thing which I miss is a hayfork. In Germany the price of 10 Euros is imo not cheap but since it's a big vehicle the price is ok. Klaus-Dieter

B-OV-8D Hello everybody! Since I would so much like to see TLG releasing a mall for the City theme I designed one with LDD. Here is the result: Legoland Mall Pieces: 493 Price (Germany): 93,70 Euros You want to go shopping whereas it is raining outside? Then the Legoland Mall is the perfect place! Have a cup of coffee in the little cafe, search for a perfume as a present, buy your favourite jeans in the boutique and look for the newest Lego sets. This set includes the Legoland Mall with entrance, cafe and perfumery downstairs, boutique and Lego Store upstairs, street cleaner, businessman, salesman, saleswoman, man, woman, kid, security officer and a lot of nice accessories. A view of the front, a view of the left side, a view of the right side and the interior: More pics can be found in this BS folder (when public). Comments are welcome! Klaus-Dieter

Thank you very much for your nice comments, Asuka, darthperson and DJ Force! Thanks, Asuka! You can have something to increase suspence here. I suppose that´s the clapper board. However, it is really a HUGE clapper board. Didn´t LEGO have a real clapper board in the studio line? I´d just swap these. That's right, DJ Force. But when you look at the clapper board which came with the sets of the studio theme in 200? then you can see that they were nearly as big as this one (I only had no hinge available). Klaus-Dieter

The only two sets of which we've got already the set numbers but no pictures and even no detailed information are the mid-scale Millenium Falcon and the Home One set. Besides there might be (when you trust earlier rumours) a "Tantive 4 UCS playset". But we don't have got any set number nore some more information about this set. Imo it might even well be that we won't get this set (which really would be a pity if it is designed very well - meaning with good and new minifigs, with nice interior and is not too expensive) since there'll already be the CW RSD this year which is a huge ship. And I think that there will surely be another "total" UCS set - like e. g. last year's General Grievous statue. Klaus-Dieter
-
I must say that you've bring up a lot of amazing ideas for possible new City sets! Unluckily I've got a lot of work now. But I surely will comment on them the weekend after next weekend. It would be unfair to only comment on very few of these and let out the others. I'm very sorry! Klaus-Dieter
-
No, with minifig scale I mean (rather it is meant in general) that it will be that big that it's about the size that it fits to minifigs. In this case meaning: (Although TLG (persumably) doesn't take this chance) I do think that there is a possibility that TLG could design a Mon Calamari Cruiser in about the same size like the minifig-scaled RSD (this year) or the minifig-scaled ISD (in 2006) which includes a little bridge, a control room and a little hangar with an minifig-scaled A-Wing (and A-Wing like the last two versions; in which you can sit a minifig). Did you now comprehend what I meant? I totally agree with you, Bricks. TLG will surely add some missiles or whatever to the A-Wing. This wouldn't disturb me as long as the ship itself would consequently not get much bigger then. But this I unluckily fear. Klaus-Dieter
-
Again thank you all very much for your many votes and comments! 101 votes until now - that's brilliant to see so many people being interested in this topic! These are aweome ideas, Bricks! I really would like to see (and of course even buy) all of your proposed sets - if TLG doesn't add some fantasy elements to them! The idea for the helmet with the hole is great, too! Then TLG could not only put in this hole a irokese hair (from the back to the front) in this helmet but even a hair which goes from the left to the right side! Thanks, Zobras! Klaus-Dieter

I know that the most of you surely will disagree with me and perhaps even will be angry with me. But I must say that these three "Castle" sets are ! The King's Chariot is much to big for one horse, it has no canopy and it looks more like a Roman chariotry than like a medieval chariot. The Trolls' Mountain fortress is simply a nightmare! The only set which has a bit charme is the Drawbridge Defense. But all these fantasy elements unluckily destroy the otherwise very nice design. Nevertheless I'm not very angry about these sets since there are already awesome City and excellentSW OT sets this year - plus the amazing Medieval Market Village (which I haven't built up completely ) and perhaps even another exclusive Castle set late this year. Hello everybody! Here are my persumably last TV MOCs I design(ed) with LDD: TV Director Pieces: 18 Price: 2,40 Euros Cut! The TV director speaks into his megaphone while locking the clapper board. Help the director leading his TV team! This set comes with the TV director, a clapper board, a megaphone, a cup and a chair. TV Sound Engineer Pieces: 12 Price: 2,09 Euros Please speek into the microphone! The TV sound engineer tapes alll the voices and sound which are need for a movie. Which sound will be the next to be taped? This set comes with a TV sound engineer, a big microphone and a mixer. Comments are welcome! Klaus-Dieter

Thank you very much for your your advice, Darth Legolas! I meant of course snow goggles. I corrected it. I totally agree with you, ADHO15! I'm hundred percent sure that this was the set description. I, too, would very much like to have the Mon Calamari Cruiser as a whole ship! Perhaps about the size of the minifig-scaled RSD or ISD. Nevertheless there could be a little hangar for a little minifig-scaled A-Wing, a control room and a bridge be included. That would be ! But I fear that TLG surely won't release it in this version this year - and persumably even not in the future! Klaus-Dieter
-
Thank you very much for the links, Erdbeereis! Yes, it seems as if the Hoth Rebel Troopers have new snow goggles. But from where do you know that one of the Rebels should be a commander?! You can't see the faces of the two Rebels very clearly. And if they have different faces - this wouldn't say anything since the two Endor Rebel Troopers in the Endor set have different faces, too, but they are both "common" soldiers. To the supposable Mon Calamari Cruiser set: Since we already know that the price will be about the same price like the Endor set it's totally unrealistic to believe that we'll get a whole ship! I would of course prefer the whole ship (even if it costs about 150-200 Euros) but regrettably this seems to to be TLG's aim. I think that it'll come with -two connected walls, some seats and a sluice -a little Endor/DS plan -a part of the bridge -the A-Wing -perhaps a little transport vehicle -General Ackbar -A-Wing Pilot -Luke, Leia, Lando -perhaps Mon Mothma -if ye've got much luck even some more Mon Calamaris and/or General Crix Madine -perhaps a Rebel Technican (such like in the last version of the A-Wing) -some additional stuff such as barrels, tools, guns, ... Klaus-Dieter
-
Thank you very much for the link, Erdbeereis, and for the pics, sir dano! To the City Corner: Again I must say that I'm overwhelmed! There is even a kid included in this set! And the bus has some "promo" stickers on it - very realistic! The only thing about which I'm very disappointed is that the bicycle shop does not inlcude a doors and (supposably) even not a window - but only big holes in the wall and that the interior of the bicycle shop seems to be very moderate! Otherwise it's simply excellent and I can't await to see pics of the interior! I think that TLG may even not have already finished the final version (of the sticker). Plus you can't say with 100 percent safety that it is a Shell sticker. Klaus-Dieter

Legoland Sea Life Tour
Klaus-Dieter replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Thank you very much for the report, TheBrickster! Please don't take that personally but I must say that - apart from the Atlantis MOC which is great - I'm not so excited about the other things. (Perhaps that's even because I don't like Aquariders.) Klaus-Dieter -
Thank you very much for that great review, 5150 Lego! Apart from that imo the combine harvester is much too big and very expensive I really this set and can't wait to buy it, too! Klaus-Dieter
-
That's an absolutely amazing MOC, oo7! I really it! The architecture and the details are more than 100 percent perfect! I really like the rice field with the little wooden tower. Your awesome tea house with the water fall is a perfect addition to the Ninja castle! Very, very well done! Klaus-Dieter
-
Thank you very much for this link, CloneMe! Great to see that the Endor set includes a DS Trooper ! I did already mention everything other which is important. Klaus-Dieter
-
You're right, Future74 - TLG may change the contents of these sets. But I see no reason why they should. Plus they surely already know that we did now see the pics and consequently would be very angry when they eliminate one of the minifigs in the Endor set. Imo they could well eliminate one minifig in the Hoth set - namely Hoth Han - every other minifig would be better than him! Sorry for being that unmastered - but I'm really when I see TLG releasing Hoth Han for the third time - and with this giving away the chance for other much better and much more important minifigs for the Battle of Hoth! I think that the price of 37 Euros for the Echo Base sounds very realistic. The price for the Endor playset is hard to say. It could be 100-130 Euros. But more than 100 Euros would really be usury (although there is no doubt that it's an amazing set! )! Plus I'm a bit sceptic about that - if TLG releases it for more than 100 Euros - it will sell good in general toy shops. So I think it might cost 100 Euros - which would not be cheap but a fair price for such a set! Klaus-Dieter
-
Thank you very much for the link, Morgan19! Like always, here my comment to these two sets: 7749 Echo Base: Positive: The design of the turret is great. Now we at long last get our beloved Tauntaun! Negative: The size of the trench is too small! No new minifig, no general on neither the Imperial nor the Rebel side! And again a Hoth Han minifig! Doesn't TLG see that the Tauntaun cries for a Rebel Captain or at least a Hoth Luke minifig?! Conclusion: This set is nice - but really not exceptional! The paritcular at this set is that it includes a Tauntaun. Apart from that it's surely not a bad - but even not an amazing set! I surely would have bought more than one of this set if TLG included a Hoth Rebel Captain instead of this stupid Hoth Han minifig we already had two times! But with the Hoth Han minifig this set is personalised and so it would not make much sense to buy more than one set since I don't want even more Hoth Hans. And collecting tons of Rebels which have no captain to lead them doesn't make fun and is beside from that totally unrealistic. In the movie you can see this Hoth Rebel Captain (I regrettably don't know his name) who looks through his binoclulars. Why did TLG not choose him or a captain in genral?! So I really hope that TLG will release a big Hoth Rebel Base with minimum one Hoth Rebel Captain next year or the year after next year that we at long last can add a Rebel Captain to our Hoth collections!!! 8038 The Battle of Endor Negative: There is no single tree included in this set although this scene plays in the virgin forest! The catapult looks a bit strange. Positive: The AT-ST has a great design! The bunker is bigger than I expected! The minifigs included in this set are great - mainly the Ewoks' Chief, the Endor Rebel Troopers and Endor Leia! Conclusion: This is really an amazing set! The minifig constellation as well as the design are perfectly! Only some trees are missing! It would be nice if the bunker will include a mechanism to blow up. (When you look at the middle of the right side of the bunker there you can see a black cord or something like that. Couldn't that be something to activate a blow-up mechnism?) If not, that's not that bad. Everything important is included in this set - and we even get the Ewoks' Chief! I hope that TLG will continue releasing some more Endor sets in the next years - so we could add some more battle scenes, an Ewok Town and a landing platform with the Imperial Shuttle (with gangway, please!)! Btw: I can't detect the DS Trooper. Do you see him or is there really no? Klaus-Dieter

"Arabian Nights" as a new Lego adventure/historical theme for kids?! You supposably wanted to write Arabian knights, didn't you?! All joling apart: That's a brilliant idea, Etzel! I really would like to see some Arabic knights, too, since this would be some totally new, different and more exciting than always only European knights (although they're great neverthless). But since I excluded the Castle theme of that poll I didn't gave/give you a voting option for Ninja, Arabic knights, ... since they all would belong to the Castle theme. And in the topic where CopMike presented us that TLG wants our ideas for a new theme they extra escented that it we shouldn't write some proposals for new Castle themes. So . I think that TLG will (regrettably) continue the fantasy area in the Castle area in 2010 and even in 2011. So there'd be no chance for a new Castle theme. Thank you very much, hollisbrick! I must say that I'm really surprised about that so many people are voting for Greeks (with and without fantasy) - I would have bet that Greeks will be one of the themes which will get the fewest votes. Klaus-Dieter

Thank you very much for that great review, aayla-secura! It's a great set whith very nice minfigs and a lot of great additional stuff - and a female minifig included! The only thing which I really do not like is that the street signs aren't printed but have stickers on them. That would make it very expensive when you'd like to add street signs to every street crossing and every zebra crossing. I bought one exemplar last week and I'll surely buy another next week. But surely not. But this set is great nevertheless! Klaus-Dieter
-
Hello everybody! TheBrickster pointed out a very interesting fact which I want to discuss here (and not in this his topic since this topic is mainly about something else. So here you are: This Playmobil set is simple - but excellent! I think it would be for TLG a try to release some sets similar to that one, too, in order to test whether it would make sense (which I really do not doubt) to release a new WW theme. Of course there are some points when you look at this Playmobil set that have to be changed when turning it into a Lego set which should take interest in JFOLs (which are apparently the main audience): 1. The number of minifigs must be increased - only one gold washer is too less! E. g. adding minimum one more gold washer. 2. There has to be minimum one building added to this scene! E. g. adding the gold washers' hut. Or a tipi for the Indians. 3. For kids action elements seem to be very important. But they are missing here - so there should be added one action element! E. g. a rock which falls downward into the canyon for the Indians' defense. Or a rope bridge which either dandles or which has a hole through which you can fall. Only some ideas here. But I'd sure that - if TLG does releases new WW sets in a style, in a design and with contents similar to the old theme of 1996/96 but making them more attractive (with e. g. designing two floors big buildings, releasing a stage coach and a train with train station, ...) then - TLG would surely have success with these new sets since JFOLs which don't know the old theme will like the new theme like they like every other adventure/historical theme - and AFOLs which still know about the old WW theme (me included!) will be very enthusiatic about this theme and really like to add some new sets to their collection (me, too!) or when they already have kids which play with Lego these parents would surely buy them these new sets and love to see how happy their kids are when playing with all these new (and old) WW sets. It would perhaps be a bit too risky to throw lots and lots of new Western sets on the market. But a careful try with only a few sets (like TLG does with the new (mainly) great Pirates sets this year) would be worth a try! And when Playmobil seems to sell its Western set(s) very well - then why shouldn't TLG, too?! That's how I see it. And which is your opinion? Comments are welcome! (I do really not want to hold soliloquies! ) Klaus-Dieter
