That's a great and interesting topic, Piranha! I regrettably firstly notice now. So here my votes: Best new theme: Indiana Jones, although I must say that I'm not interested in all three of them. Speed Racers is very ok, too. But Agents is simply ! Best overall theme: Town! The CG Platform, the CG Quadbike, the CG 4wrd And Jetski, the Post Van, the Post Plane and the Truck & Forklist are great sets. Plus the amazing Town Plan which is simply ! Klaus-Dieter

Thank you very much for that great review, TheBrickster! If there would be a poll I'd vote for Average: Cons of this set: -missing of a farm house -much too big trailer -too less walls -too small stable -winch is much too far away from the barn Pros of this set: -female farmer -black-white cows -two vehicles -nice accessory -trap in the barn -awesome silo and tractor Conclusion: The proportion of the vehicles to the buildings (mainly the stable) is imbalanced: The vehicles (mainly the tractor with its immense trailer) are in comparison to the buildings (mainly to the stable) much too big. Otherwise I'd say that even when it's not the best farm set you could imagine it's at long last the first farm we get! So I of course will buy it. By the way: You supposably did forget to add the stickers to the according bricks, TheBrickster, didn't you? Klaus-Dieter

When you type the set number in BS you can find a blurry pic of it. To my knowledge that's the only pic we have seen until now. But I hope that we'll see some less blurry pics and some pics of the interior (mainly of the interior of the houses in the amazing City Corner set) soon. Is there someone who is going to the German toy fair and will take some pics there? Klaus-Dieter

One more thing to the MF: I highly doubt that the price which was mentioned until now is right. And I even highly doubt that TLG will release a MF which is too small to go with minifigs. Plus I really would not like it (and surely even not buy it) if it's not minifig-scaled. I mean: 1. The majority (me included) would be very disappointed if the MF is smaller than minifig-scale: -The most of the AFOLs want high-detailed vehicles - and a smaller than minifig-scale MF can surely not offer that. -The most of the JFOLs want much playability and action elements - and a smaller than minifig-scale MF can surely not offer that, too. And TLG wants to make the majority of their customers happy and not sad, don't they?! 2. The idea of including a smaller than minifig-scale vehicle on the one hand and some minifigs on the other hand in one and the same set is (surely not only in my opinion) absurd. With the minifig-scaled DS it was something other since there Vader's TIE was only a small part of this set - but not the main part. If the MF was part of a big set (let's say e. g. of a Home One as a whole ship) then it might be well possible to have a MF included which is smaller than minifig-scale. But since the MF is the main part of this MF set which shall come out I do not see any comprehensible cause why it should be smaller than minifig-scale. 3. Which sense should a smaller than minifig-scale MF have?! It would not fit with the most of the other sets since the most of the other sets are (more or less) minfig-scaled. So I don't think that the MF will be not in minifig-scale since then it would surely not be bought that much (I, too, surely wouldn't buy it if it isn't minifig-scaled). And to the exclusive minifigs which might come with this set: When somebody wants them it's then cheaper to buy them via Ebay, bricklink or what so ever than to buy the whole set. I personally do anyway not understand why TLG wants to release a MF this year. Of course the last versions were sold in a five year period. But on the other hand we don't get an X-Wing or a general TIE Fighter this year, too. So they could easily release them next year. Because: If it's not minifig-scaled (which I highly doubt) then I bet that it surely won't be sold well anyway. And if it is minifig-scaled then there are already that many big sets this year that many people can't buy every set they want and hace to decide for their favourtie one(s). But if TLG releases the MF next year and if it is minifig-scaled people would surely buy it. Sorry for perhaps having been gotten a bit off-topic. Klaus-Dieter

That's a great idea, Richie! I, too, really would like to see a pony express with some riders, some horses and an office. Plus their might be some sort of Impulse set or very small sets which includes a pony express rider with his horse and a letter this rider has to deliver. Or what about some forest landscape or desert landscape or steppe lanscapes, a pony express rider who has to deliver a very important and secret letter and some bandits or Indians which attack him? Craghold Castle, a lengthy MOC (>1 year off/on)
Klaus-Dieter replied to brickzone's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
That's an absolutely amazing MOC, Brickzone! I really it! The architecture looks (apart from that it is perhaps a bit too tall ) great and the details and the interior are simply awesome! The most I like the stairs, the treasure room and the magician's office - great! Very well done! Klaus-Dieter -
That's a very interesting topic, darkrebellion! Like the most of you I, too, think that TLG will elongate the license on SW products. SW and City are the themes where TLG sells its mosts products. So if TLG doesn't sell any SW sets anymore they will loose a lot of customers. Surely there will be a point when they won't enlongate the license any more - but imo not before 2016. But - like you can see mainly when looking at last year's SW sets - the quality of SW sets is and even will change seriously. PT sets seem to disappear completely - and there surely will be regrettably only very few OT sets in the future, too (this year is surely a great exception because of the 10th anniversary). I really hope that TLG will not give up releasing OT sets (the only SW sets in which I'm interested and which I (aim to) buy)! So I hope they will release a lot of sets which haven't been done before (like e. g. Obi Wan's and Luke's home with landspeeder, tusken raiders and a bantha; Home One (as a whole ship); Tantive 4 (as a whole ship)) and release sets which they already released but which were imo not that what you await (like e. g. the Cloud City; Jabba's Palace; the Hoth Rebel Base; Mos Eisley Cantina; ...). And I hope that they will not release 150 Euros - open end Euros sets but even little and medium sized sets, too. Klaus-Dieter

Thank you very much for that information, Holodoc! I can't await to see pics of the new train set, too! But since it'll be a S@H Exclusive I'm really not astonished that we haven't got pics yet. I mean: It's very supposable that TLG will release this train set after all the other City sets will have been come out - so in September/October. Because of this we can't await to see pics before late June or beginning of July - regrettably . Klaus-Dieter

That's an absolutely amazing MOC, TheBrickster! I really the architecture, the simple but very nice interior and all the details (like e. g. the water basin and the box with the apples) you added to it. The hidden treasure with the break-away-wall is an awesome idea and a great design! The minifigs you added to it fit perfectly. Only one question: Which time should your MOC represent? Egypt time, Arabian knights' time or adventure's time? I really hope that - after we hopefully will be getting a new Western theme in some years - we'll get some historical (not adventure-themed!) Roman and Egypt sets designed modeled on the awesome Playmobil sets (please excuse my enthusiasm on Playmobil in this case since I must say that - although I don't buy Playmobil - they do a brilliant job with their Roman and Egypt sets since they are awesome design and historically very near to correctness), too! That would be so ! Very well done! Klaus-Dieter

Thank you very much for the pics of the new watches, KimT, and for the price information, Bricks! The only watch which looks nice is the one with the Stormstrooper on it. But the others are not the money worth. Don't take this as offensive but: Does TLG really think that we AFOLs will buy and wear these watches?! If TLG releases a Slave 1 this or next year then they surely won't include Lando in this set since he supposably appears in the MF. A fleesh Lobot would be cool. But imo he would fit much better in a new version of a Twin Pod Cloud Car - or even better - in a bigger and more detailed version of the Cloud City! I think that I already mentioned this before: I highly doubt whether we'll be seeing the Palpatine's Arrest set and the Slave 1 set as sets of this year. But - like it was written down on bricki/wiki/what so ever (please correct me if I'm wrong) - these two sets might already appear in late December this year. This consequently would mean that they aren't count to this year's sets but already to next year's sets. That's only a thought. Klaus-Dieter

What New Themes or Sets would you like TLG to make?
Klaus-Dieter replied to CopMike's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I'd so much like to see a re-design of or at least a set very similar to this awesome classic set:  Klaus-Dieter -
You're right, giorgio! Not very often in the City theme but often in the licensed themes TLG has been making molds which then were only used in this special set or perhaps only in one other set (only think about the parts for the Jabba minifig which were only used two times until now). And I even think that TLG won't design 4 stud wide trains. At the moment - and I think that this will surely not be much different in the next years, too - TLG goes more into the direction of releasing big vehicles. So a 4 stud wide monorail is totally unrealistic to await. I totally agree with you, too, Dr. Brick! I already thought about whether it wouldn't be a too big grade for trains to go up these new tracks. So the next time I'll look more closely at pics. Sorry to everybody! Consequently the dream of a new monorail set is over! :cry_sad: Klaus-Dieter

Thank you very much for your nice comments, Mariko and TheBrickster! Thanks, Mariko! I tried to include as many details as possible. So very nice to hear that you like it. Good point, Loganwan! I didn't think about adding this mosaic to the upper floor, too. Thanks, TheBrickster! I feel honored. - But when you'd look at the dining car I designed about a week ago you would no longer say that each creation is better than the one before. I indeed wanted to add some stairs. But there were two reasons why I didn't add some: 1. Malls always have escalators and no stairs. And how to design escalators?! 2. To add stairs to the inside would have meant much less space. And I think that the inside of the shops is not too big. When I would have added stairs then there either would have only be shops on one side or the shops would have become that small that (when you would build my MOC in reality) you couldn't play indise. And I wanted - like with all of the LDD MOCs I create(d) to design some MOCs which could theoretically be official Lego sets and include the typical elements you can find in every Lego set (so playability, too). But of course you're right: With stairs/escalators it would look much more realistic and interesting. Klaus-Dieter

That's a great idea, Richie! Why don't you write it down here?! Klaus-Dieter

That's a very nice vignette, Majek! I really like the landscape and the minifigs. Very well done! Klaus-Dieter

To the Home One set: You're totally right, Darth Legolas! If the Home One set doesn't come with an Ackbar minifig then nobody would buy it (like with the Hoth set: when TLG wouldn't have included a Tauntaun in this set I never would buy it since I buy it only for the Tauntaun). But I'm sure that TLG knows that and because of this I'm even sure that they'll include an Achbar minifig in this set. But I even think that they'll make the control room much bigger and much more realistic than in the "B-Wing at Rebel Control Center" set. And since we saw that the Endor set is absolutely amazing we only can hope that Home One will it be, too. To the Slave 1 and Palpatine's Arrest set: I only can remember that someone found this sets listed on wikipedia/wookiepedia/what so ever. So that doesn't say anything. And I even doubt it since we'll already be getting a lot of sets. But if TLG releases a new Slave 1 I highly will doubt it since I didn't buy the version from 2006! Klaus-Dieter

I'm very sorry, giorgio! I really didn't look carefully enough to the pic of the Temple of Doom set. So you're right: The tracks in this set are 4 stuck wide whereas the most tracks which were released until now were 6 stuck wide. Sorry to all for that confusion! Do you then think that the new trains TLG will offer (not only this year's exclusive train set but even future train sets) will all run on 4 stuck wide tracks? I don't think so. On the other hand I'm a bit confused that TLG extra makes new molds for supposably only one set. Isn't that uneconomical? Klaus-Dieter
-
Oh sorry, I forgot to mention the results of this poll (until now)! The "Top-4-positions" are: 1. Romans with and without fantasy - 2. Greeks with and without fantasy 3. Western and/or Ghost Town - 4. Incas/Mayas/Aztecs with or without conqueros Comments are welcome! Klaus-Dieter

Metalandi, I don't say that I want no steam engine. But a steam engine should be released in the line of a new Western theme. For City I wish modern trains. But even if "locomotive" hasn't got to mean that it's a steam engine, it means that it'll be a locomotive. And isn't a locomotive different to a monorail?! I unluckily have to agree with frogstudio, Pierre_Cochereau. The molds for the classic monorail don't exist any longer. But if TLG releases a new monorail I'm sure - after having seen the pics of all the excellent summer City sets (and mainly the City Corner) - that they would make looking it totally amazing and even design it a bit in classic style. The only thing which we surely would miss are the high numbers of minifigs. But minifigs you can buy via PaB, customer's service or Ebay, too, so that's not that bad. And I, too, think that it would be totally amazing if TLG releases something similar to 6399! It surely would be sold very, very well. I of course then would buy one set, too! So let's hope! After my knockledge tracks always have been 4 stucks wide and not 6 stuck wide, sir dano. Six stuck wide would mean that we'd get 8 stuck wide trains - and that wouldn't look that good, don't you agree?! Klaus-Dieter

I think that we'll regrettably see none of these two sets in the US and German toy fairs, Matteo Kenobi and legoman. The Home One will be an exclusive set which is sold by TRU (and hopefully via S@H, too) and may be even a limited edition set - perhaps like the Republic Cruiser in 2007. So I think we'll see pics of the Home One set in late June or July. Since we haven't got yet some pics or more information on the MF I could well imagine that it'll be some sort of hard to find set - like last year's Droid Gunship - which will only be sold by S@H and some special companies such as Kaufhof or TRU. Again to the minifig constellation of the Home One set: Since TLG already uses the Endor torso for Leia and two Endor Rebels in the Endor set: Do you think that TLG includes an Endor Luke minifig in the Home One set? - I mean: The whole history of the OT centers on Luke. So it would be totally absurd if he isn't included in one of all OT sets this year. He has to be included in at least one set! Klaus-Dieter

That's a great MOC, Majek! That's again a very funny and very well designed scene! I really like the idea of translating the SW scenes into scenes of other time episodes! Very well done! Klaus-Dieter

Thank you very much for your nice comments, DJ Force and Righteous Squid! Thanks, DJ Force! Perhaps I'll design a bigger version somewhere in the future. But firstly I don't think that this one then would look better since the pieces on LDD are limited nevertheless and I think that now it looks very nice - but if it shall be bigger designing it via LDD is perhaps not that a good idea (I don't know). Secondly I'm very busy at the moment. But let's see. Thanks, Righteous Squid! Without wanting to praise myself too much I must say that I, too, think that the revolving doors and the roof give my creation a more realistic and lovely look than when I would only have added a normal roof and some common doors to it. No, I won't make my design modular since I don't like buildings like CC, Market Street and Green Grocer. Klaus-Dieter

Not very long ago legomilk wrote in the 2009 Sets(all) subforum following: So - very supposably no monorail! A locomotive sounds more like a steam engine which wouldn't fit that perfectly in the City theme. Klaus-Dieter
-
Thank you very much for that information, legomilk! A locomotive? Do you mean a general locomotive with that or a steam engine? Or do you mean that there will be a train with rails and seperately a locomotive? Klaus-Dieter

I unluckily don't own the awesome Airport Shuttle but hope that TLG will offer us something similar in the near future! First of all: That the esclusive train set will be some sort of monorail and/or some sort of redesign of the amazing Airport Shuttle set was/is only an idea! In one official announcement (a long while ago) it was said that there will be a train set which should mainly address AFOLs. And legomilk told us that he heard something about that there'll be an exclusive train set this year. But we haven't got any confirmation until now. And we have no set number and even no set name. Since we have not a set name which says "... train" it could be a train set as well as a monorail set. Klaus-Dieter
