CMF Mafia 2 - Day 2 - Special Delivery
Tamamono replied to TrumpetKing's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
What makes you anywhere near confirmed?? And this is coming from me, the guy who's very much in favor of a massclaim! Helen/Derek are better choices for a massclaim. However, neither are regarded by everyone to be town. Derek is the better choice since he's got a role that would be likely to be contested, yet isn't. King was the blocker and we have no reason to believe that a vampire could be an investigator (plus Caitie even removed her vote from Derek), so if there's another cop, they're still alive, an I think they would have come forward to someone by now. However, Derek did get results, and the scum blocker's gotta still be out there as well, so that's what worries me... If we're claiming (which would be a great idea), it should be to Derek, really. Is there anyone who'd dig in their heels and not do it besides Captain Hottie McHotterson and Sally the arsonist? -

He was our only chance for a lynch at that point. I wish he'd flipped scum, but he was a good bet and, at least then, it seemed better than a no-lynch. -

It didn't make a big impact on me since I'm used to seeing rhetorical questions from him. Yeah, I guess a trickster is a viable option. Odd choice for a curse, but I could see it. I actually wouldn't be averse to this. There are a lot of claims out in the open right now, so as long as nobody reveals their role - just alter ego, I could see it going a-ok. What does everyone else think? -

While I'm inclined to trust Helen because of her claim, something's stood out to me: What's with all the maybes? Lacey and Melinda asked legitimate questions (admittedly, "What???" doesn't count) and you responded with these odd maybes. Can you cut the crap and actually answer questions? While revealing too much isn't helpful, neither is total reticence. There it is again. -

What does King's role have to do with Derek?? So the fact that you don't have a human alter ego is grounds for lynching everyone who does? I don't see why it's so important that Helen tell us the alter egos of the faith healers. If they get nightkilled and we know their alter egos, we know exactly what's been killed. Let's keep scum in the dark. How does this help anything? Fortune Teller matches up with cop a lot better than Scarecrow matches up with blocker. Hottie McHotterson is pushing pretty hard for a lynch on the town cop, whom we would have definitely seen a counterclaim for by now if he wasn't real. Any reason you're so adamant about ridding the town of a valuable PR?? You're sounding an awful lot like Hottie here. Careful. She's not the only one a strong case can be made against. -

That's really disappointing, especially since it appears Kingsley was a PR after all. Caitie's an interesting choice; I would have thought she'd be under a bit of scrutiny today... What makes you think Caitie was a vigilante? -

What are you saying?? Logically speaking, there's an equal chance of him being the town or scum blocker (if we have a town blocker). What makes blocker a scummy claim, per se? I think he's a good lynch because of how he claimed, not what he claimed. The fact that he was so convinced that he'd be counterclaimed when it's common knowledge that it'd be an awful scum move to come out and counterclaim him, since if starfish flipped town, whoever counterclaimed him would be immediately lynched the next day. He's scared of the town blocker, not the scum blocker.- 267 replies

Wait, nevermind; had a lapse in clear thinking. Scum's alter egos are probably pretty ambiguous (like scarecrow) so they'll likely claim whatever their true alter ego is. You can release them if you want to (with the permission of the faith healers of course).- 267 replies

This was optimal play. If you're being lynched, you claim. It's not as if blocker's terribly important anyway.- 267 replies

Figured we'd see a blocker claim. Scarecrow's actually fairly ambiguous. I could see it as Council. I'm leaning toward you being the scum blocker, honestly, but proper precautions must be taken regardless. There's 6 votes on you now, it takes 10 for a majority, so we can still save you if need be. What does everyone think? Is blocker worth a no lynch?- 267 replies

If you get a counterclaim, it goes to a 50/50. So, if you claim a role and we lynch you and you flip town, whoever counterclaimed will be confirmed scum tomorrow. Claiming would be a great idea: figure and role both so scum can't copy you if you're town.- 267 replies

This isn't my first choice for a lynch, but as long as we're achieving a lynch and it's not on an uncounterclaimed PR, I'm cool with it. Vote: Kingsley of the Starfish (KingOfTheZempk) I yam what I yam. I apologize if I came off as abrasive, though, Helen. Thank you for seeing reason.- 267 replies

I I cannot even begin to explain how wrong this is. Even if Derek is scum, this isn't why. Roles corresponding to alter egos has been a thing with this host. Additionally, if he's town, the fact that he's the Fortune Teller can't be an accident. You are literally skewing the logic to fit where it helps you. Ping. That's not what I'm saying; I explained both possibilities because you were utterly reluctant to believe that that roles were tied to alter egos. If Derek's scum, yeah, it'd be cool if the real cop didn't claim, but on the other side, we're lynching an uncontested cop. Honestly, if there's another cop, claim to Helen. She claimed Mummy, and I highly doubt that'd be a scum alter ego what with the low amount of true monsters. I don't. I'm saying that if you have to play that way, actually play that way. Don't say lynching Derek is safe when the reverse is also true. No. I used Frankenstein as an example to refer to the entirety of the truly "monstrous" figures with. I'm really disappointed in you. I'd have thought someone as level-headed as you would have seen the logic and where I was coming from.- 267 replies

I've already stated that I find Sally to be pretty scummy. I'd be up for voting her if everyone's willing to get off Derek. You do raise a good question about the role PM, though. Derek, why didn't you state you were technically a Monster earlier?- 267 replies

We're dealing with two very different Gods here. Every PR was obvious last time in this universe: Vig was knight, Cop was blocker (handcuffs), Sherlock was cop, Surgeon was doctor, and so on and so forth. I'm going to blatantly metagame here and say that the roles match the alter egos. Additonally: if Derek Zoolander is scum and lying, that means he personally knows of PRs in this game: scum PRs. He would claim something in accordance with what he knows, so that would mean scum's PRs match their alter egos. No matter what, PRs match alter egos. Hence why claiming in public is an astronomically bad idea. Stop it, everyone. Stop. Here, there's some in front of me.- 267 replies

As was the evil knight. We can't all be Frankenstein. It's an unrealistic standard for Monstrous beauty! What's the point of alter egos if they don't correspond to roles? And like I said, after last time, God wouldn't want to make them all set in stone. The mobster and evil knight were both found because literally every town role as benign. If it were like that, it's a breakable game. I'm very confident that God decided to add more ambiguity to his original concept for this time around, even if he did keep the correspondence to PRs.- 267 replies

And on the other side, it's odd how convinced you and the rest of the town are. Hinck's character even said there were more Monsters who werent monsters, per se. If you're gonna take the conservative route, actually take it. One of the actions stipulated as a no-no by conservative play is lynching one of town's most important PR's when there's no actual evidence that he's scum.- 267 replies

Tamamono replied to TrumpetKing's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
To sum it up, yeah. I'm being much more lackadaisical about it this time around, and I realize that doesn't inspire confidence, but conservatism isn't going to help us. While yeah, if there is a cop that isn't Derek, it'd be neat if he wouldn't claim, we also shouldn't lynch uncounterclaimed PRs. Even those who think he's scum should unvote and find someone else.- 267 replies
