  9. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ January 19, 1994 New Brickland Mid-morning The session has begun. Suddenly, the door swings open and the head of security storms in, followed by a black robed figure. The security guard begins punching in the combination to the Speaker's seat as the dark robed figure closes the door. "Wait, what are you doing?" Douglas begins. "Hold on - I didn't call for security!" The legislature erupts as the guard grabs Douglas, slamming him against the counter. "Agh!" Outraged, all of the Old Dogs stand up tall. That is, all except for Peter, who can only stand up kind-of-tall. "Alright people - there's no need to cause a ruckus up in here -" the guard begins, "This guy right here has been plotting against the government - he's guilty of treason! He's been bought off by the Octan corporation to sell the government to them!" The robed figure mounts the steps. "W-what ever happened to a fair trial!?" Douglas stammers as he's forced down the steps. "Move it!" the guard grunts at him. Stepping up the counter, the robed figure takes the gavel and brings it down hard. "Order!" The figure stands in silence for a second before continuing. "As I'm sure you know, I'm Justice Tate Montgomery. I'll be conducting a formal investigation of this matter of corruption, starting now. We've gotten an anonymous tip that Mr. London was not the only traitor amongst you - there are more. They will be dealt with swiftly. First thing's first, though - you need to elect a new Speaker of this legislative body." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ You have 24 hours to elect a new Speaker of the legislature. 10. Everybody's here! Day 1 will be up in a few hours.
  11. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ January 18, 1994 New Brickland A handsome man in a sharp suit appears on the television. "My friends... it has been an honor to serve as CEO of this great company for the past twelve years." the man begins, "I've been so privileged as to have been able to provide the good people of this nation the oil that they so badly need. After a long deliberation process with our representatives over at the capital building, I have an exciting new proposition for you all. A new resolution is coming up in the legislature next week. You see, my skilled friends over at the capital have drafted a piece of legislation that would create a... partnership between the government and our great company." "Not only would this greatly bolster the economy, the Octan model will provide the kind of leadership we as LEGOLanders so badly need. Friends of Octan, of freedom, of progress, heed my call! Speak to your local representative today and ask that they cast their vote for an Octan legislature next week. Truly, it must be done - for the sake of our children." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ January 19, 1994 New Brickland Morning A limosine pulls up to the capital building... Meanwhile, inside, the legislature is settling in for its new session. Speaker of the Legislature, Douglas London, closes the door to his seat behind him as he prepares his constituents for his third session in a row. Gavel in hand, London clears his throat. "This session of the Legislature of LEGOLand has now commenced! I hope you all had a pleasant vacation -" he begins... "And was it ever!" Maurice chimes in. "I spent so much time playing with this great gadget. Look how hip I am!" Inspired by Maurice's jovial spirit, many representatives strike up conversations with one another. The ensuing racket is very unprofessional. Bjorn stands up and tries to quiet everyone down. "Order, everyone, order!!" Unfortunately, he chokes on his words halfway through the second "order", resulting in an extremely awkward sound coming out of his mouth. Molly and Stanley give each other worried looks. Is this what politics is like? Bryant leans forward and scowls. He doesn't know if he can handle another session with these morons. Chuckling to himself, Jacob leans back in his chair. "Another day in paradise, I guess!" Unfortunately, he has terrible balance, and falls backwards. Bringing his gavel down hard, Douglas raises his voice. "Order! I will have order!" "Now, I'd like this to be a fairly productive session - don't kill that dream before it even starts! It's time for a roll call now - if you're here, please say "present"." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ In office: The Speaker: Douglas London - Representative from New Brickland: NPC The Old Dogs: Maurice Teichman - Representative from Technic Valley: played by mostlytechnic Winnifred Karchevsky - Representative from Galactic City: played by Walter Kovacs "Tiny" Peter Rutherford - Representative from Brickshire: played by TPRU Carol Nottingham - Representative from Crystal Canyon: played by Calanon Siegfried Dixon - Representative from New Brickland: played by Speedy The Legislative Veterans: J. 12. I'm going to cap off applications right there. 18 players - let's get started! I'll have the C&D thread up shortly.
  13. If I don't get a couple more people by the end of the day, I'll send out roles and post the C&D thread tomorrow. Day 1 probably Friday/Saturday.
  14. Friday is likely when Day 1 will go up unless this thread goes dead, so it shouldn't be a problem.
  15. 4-6 more people and we can start! I'd like to get this ball rolling this week!
  16. We're going to be taking a break from the 23rd to the 26th or 27th (that's up the players) so people can take Christmas to be with their families instead of trying to outwit their internet friends in a game. You are totally fine to play.
  17. What dates will you be gone for? I can make you a reserve, if you'd like.
  18. Get elected to Party Lines Mafia this Holiday Season!

  19. Tamamono proudly presents his fourth game Party Lines Mafia ~~~~~~~ If you're interested in playing... 1. What is your mafia experience here on EB? How about other sites? 2. What do you think of your performance in EB Mafia so far? What are your strengths and weakness? What do you want to improve? 3. If you just graduated from Mafia School - have you read any other mafia games on EB? If so, what have you learned from them? 4. Will you be able to post every game day? More importantly, will you be able to truly participate in the game (as opposed to showing up to post once and clocking out)? If not, reconsider your application. 5. Finally, the fun question. What is your favorite LEGO theme? I need ~20 eager players as well as several reserves. Also, there are a few changes to the standard EB rules - read these before signing up. 1. 20. Mafia surprise coming this Holiday Season!

  21. I think my favorite thing about this game was the fact that def has now lynched Scum Bob twice in a row - as both affiliations.
  22. You should be more open to a challenge, sailor!
  23. I have been and still am a seeker, but I have ceased to question stars and books; I have begun to listen to the teaching my blood whispers to me.
