Nobody is up to any shenanigans tonight. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ January 22, 1994 New Brickland Morning The legislature meets for the fourth time that week. There are notably less representatives left. The Speaker clears his throat. "Alright, let's get this started." Everyone exchanges glances. The door opens and a couple of familiar faces walk in. The security guard descends the steps, holding the door for Justice Montgomery. "Well, I asked for one of Octan's men and you did not disappoint" Montgomery begins... "Stanley Figurelli (StickFig) was definitely working for the Octan corporation. He'll stand trial for treason soon. Good job!" "However, it's not over 'til it's over. There are definitely more of his lobbyists in our midst." Cries of "Kill him!" and "Eat him!" are heard. Don't they know we don't kill anybody in this game?? The Speaker approaches Figurelli. "Sorry buddy - you lie, you die!" Taken aback, Stanley murmurs "B-but..!" Suddenly, the security guard attempts to slap cuffs on the man. "Wait, hold on, no! You're wimps, all of you! Whips!" Stanley wails, trying to break free. 9. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ January 21, 1994 New Brickland Dawn In the dead of night, the purr of a speeding convertible drones on. The car screeches to a halt up onto the sidewalk. A dark figure approaches the car as it comes to a halt. The driver takes off his helmet, revealing... The grumpy Representative Bryant Laughlin (Brickelodeon) of Brickshire! Bryant gets out of the vehicle, turning to the dark figure. "What'd you think, huh? I'm getting ready for my next illegal drag race. God, I feel so alive right now!" Stepping back, the figure snaps a picture of Laughlin. "What are you doing??" the old man yells. He's got a need for speed. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ January 21, 1994 New Brickland Morning Justice Tate Montgomery paces around the legislature, scowling. "You buffoons let me down again. A quick interrogation revealed that Palacios was clearly Loyal, but your actions have made him quit his job. Those Octan scumbags are one step closer to passing their bill! And then Representative Laughlin didn't come in to work today - that likely has something to do with the article in the paper this morning about him drag racing. I don't think we can expect to see him ever again. It's a shame - he was Loyal too!" "I expect you to bring me one of Octan's people today!" he screams, throwing his hand up in the air. 21. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ January 19, 1994 New Brickland Midnight Representative J. Leroy King (jluck) from the great town of Silver City picks away at New Brickland mountainside. There's obviously no gold to be found there, but like that would stop him! "Gosh, a stuffy government job really can get you down!" he muses aloud, "I'm finally back in my element - illegally mining for valuable minerals!" As he goes back to his grueling work, he's apporached by a dark figure in white gloves... "Say cheese!" says the figure as it captures the dastardly deed on camera. "W-wait, no!" King stammers. Now I ain't sayin' he's a gold digger... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ January 20, 1994 New Brickland The wee hours of morning A very cool looking old lady skates into the town plaza. It's Representative Winnifred Karchevsky (Walter Kovacs)! "Another wonderful night as the adventurous Madame K~! Hyahaha!" she cackles. "And none of my silly subordinates know about this wonderful second life! I could never be satisfied with that stuffy desk job - I need some adrenaline in my life!" She is approached by a figure in white gloves. "Hey, sorry to bother you like this, but do you have a camera on you? I need to take a picture of this bird over there." the figure says, holding out its hand gingerly. "Hm?" "Oh, sure." Karchevsky pulls a large camera out of only God knows where. She hands it to the figure. "So where's this bird of yours??" The figure begins to laugh slowly and leaps back. "Say cheese, "Madame K!"" "WAIT - NO!" Karchevsky yells. She's still the coolest cucumber in town. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ January 20, 1994 New Brickland Mid-morning J. Leroy King holds a press conference to adress his recent actions. "My fellow countrymen... I feel absolutely terrible for what I've done. I assure you that I will be paying back the New Brickland Parks Department in full for any damage I've caused. Additionally... I will be resigning from my post as Representative from Silver City. I just want you all to know that I was always Loyal, even if my priorities weren't straight. I'm very sorry, everyone. Very sorry." His press secretary does not look amused. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ January 20, 1994 New Brickland Mid-morning Winnifred Karchevsky also holds a press conference - for obvious reasons. "Yeah, I did it. So what?" she scowls, "It's better than serving you daft lot anyhow. All that time as a Loyal representative and this is how you repay me?? Now I'm free to be Madame K all I want. I'm done being your Representative. You hear? Done!" ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ January 20, 1994 New Brickland Noon The door to the legislature swings open and two familiar faces step inside. The security guard steps aside for Justice Montgomery. He doesn't look happy. "I expected better out of you all..." he begins... "Carol Nottingham (Calanon) was as Loyal as they come! She did admit to having a bit of a pill problem, though, and will not be able to return to work until after her ethics trial in three weeks. "I expect a crooked rep in cuffs by tonight! Octan cannot take our government hostage like this! Get to work." Representative Dixon slams the gavel down. "This session has convened!"
