Thanks for the giveaway, CopMike! With this post, I am entering the contest!!

Sorry to revive this from the land of zombie threads, but I just fixed up my HRB snowspeeder with this mod and it works great. Thanks, Mutley!

Oh, I know that the currency converters don't work in regards to LEGO pricing in each country. Still, I think they are an indication of how much US folks could be spending for a set, so I'll take a financial break where I can. So, I think the lesson learned for US folks is that when the dollar is weak, don't be buying LEGO when in a different country.

Thanks for the review. If I am correct, the new RGS is $119.99 US. From Xe.com, the 1249 NOK is nearly $250.00 US!

I absolutely must disagree with you. 7140 and 7130 are among my favorite sets. When I first heard that LEGO was going to make SW sets, I looked forward to the X-Wing. It is a balance - undeniably LEGO, and undeniably SW. I think one of the worst designed sets is the Droid Escape. Other than throwing the droids into the pod and rattling it around, there isn't much you can do with this set besides display it.

I wish someone would buy me a 360, the RGS and the AT-TE! :) Anyway, I agree with what folks have said here. I'm 36 and provided that I pass the California Bar Exam, I'll be a practicing lawyer. In other words, it's possible to have a grown up career and still be a fan - LEGO is a hobby for all ages. I had a few sets as a kid, but I didn't seriously start down the path until SW LEGO came out. I have mostly SW sets with a few others mixed in. Still, I am getting to critical mass and my wife wants me to stop, but then, in the grand scheme of things, a few thousand plastic bricks isn't that bad of a hobby. I always tell her that I could have a "project car" in the garage, or a motorcycle, etc.

Which Sticker Would You Use On Your Republic Gunship
Mofo Jones replied to Siegfried's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I'd either throw one on one side and one on the other (yes, it's a inter-crew contest to see which side of the ship gets more kills) or get the extra pieces and swap them out every so often. -
Is it OK to mix dark skinned mini-figures with yellow mini-figures?
Mofo Jones replied to Mister Phes's topic in LEGO Pirates
I say throw them all together. They're small plastic figures - the color doesn't really matter. I even throw my yellow SW and fleshie SW together. Licensed sets are a bit different - regular LEGO folks aren't usually supposed to be any specific character, unless you are talking about KK2. Licensed sets have specific characters, which is why Greedo, Jabba, Kit Fisto and the Gamorreans are green, Gungans are a light tan, and Ewoks, Jawas, Lando, Mace, and the Bespin Guard are brown. Still, the instances of different color is more of an accuracy to the original source issue, not a race issue. I don't know about the rest of you, but I consider my LEGO to be in about 4-5 different "universes".* My Castle, Vikings, and Ninja are in the same "universe" and they're all yellow, even though Castle is probably assumed to be Anglo-Saxon, Vikings would be Norse, and Ninja would be Japanese. In reality, there would be at least 3 dominant skin tones, but they're the same in LEGO. *City Universe includes Batman, and probably IJ, even though there are "yellow v. fleshie" issues. MM is its own universe, but it's also tied in with Classic Space, it's just "later". And we all know that SW is in a galaxy far, far away. So really, I don't think that color in the LEGO sets is supposed to be a reflection or an endorsement of any real-world skin types. Crew the boats with whatever LEGO folk you have on hand. The key is to have fun, build, and learn (yes, even AFOLs). -
Oops. Sorry, valentin!

Nice review, but I have to correct something for you: This quote is wrong - here's a link to the Hasbro V-Wing photo archive over on Rebelscum.com

I bought a Rebel Scout Speeder for my nephew and my first ever PAB order. I'm going to use 6 white and 1 Md stone 1x6 tiles to give the engine section of my ILC a more finished look. I got a few other pieces as well - I have a couple of MOC ideas, but it will be a while until I have time to give em a try.

Nope. Not a brick, not a set. I'd feel that it's a judgment, but I'll just consider myself unappreciated. :)

I picked up 7665 republic cruiser about a week ago - just haven't had time to come post it.

It's like completing the outside and adding a (not to scale) interior to the UCS Death Star! I thought the UCS Falcon was cool, but this is an Absolute. Must. Buy.

I have relatively valuable MISB sets that I might sell in order to get this. Then again, I may just forget buying the new RGS and have 1/3 of the price.

How many former, current and future university students are here?
Mofo Jones replied to legotrainfan's topic in Community
I have two degrees, and hopefully that's enough. I have a Bachelor of Journalism from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. I just received my Juris Doctorate from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento, California. I'm taking the California Bar Exam at the end of July, and when I leave the exam, I will be driving to the nearest store that carries LEGO and will be taking a huge set home as a "I finished the exam" prize. Hopefully the new RGS will be out by then. -
If your dad is going to a city that is near a LEGO store, he could just as easily stop in and pick it up there. Paying for express shipping might put a big dent into the money you'll be saving by buying the ISD in the US.

Yesterday, my Sandcrawler arrived from Amazon.com. I picked up the Jungle Duel set today.
-
I went a little crazy and ordered the 10144 Sandcrawler, because I need yet another large set for which I lack display space!

Happy Birthday, Batbrick!

Picked up Grievous' fighter today. I wasn't planning on buying it, but I had a Target gift card burning a hole in my pocket and I have all of the other current sets that I want, so I decided to take a chance on this one.

7669 Anakin's CW JSF 7670 Hailfire Droid

7731 Mail Van 8290 Mini Forklift (my first Technic) :)

I bought the ILC on clearance last fall. Apparently somebody at the local Wal-Mart screwed up so it was half price a few months after it came out. I'm not sure if I would have purchased this at $50 but it was a must-buy at $25. I like most of the set - the cockpit comes off too easily and I need to pick up a few white 1x4 tiles to finish the wing section. I think it looks unfinished with the exposed structure and gears.

7622 Race for the Stolen Treasure, which is my second Indy set. I think my next purchase will (finally) be the Republic Cruiser and then I'll save up for the RGS this summer.
