I agree with the others - Hindsight and Ignorance are the best ones. I'm not voting because I can't decide between them!

Excellent review of this set! It *almost* makes me want to build it again. I was lucky enough to pick up this set at a good price. I built it two years ago and it's had a place of honor on my shelf since then. I thought the build was fun, even if it was a bit repetitive after a while (treads, treads, treads). I also took my time building this set. I must have put at least 8 hours into it. I guess I was savoring the experience. This one of my favorite sets, even with all of its supposed flaws.

Ultimate Collectors Scale All Terrain Armoured Transport

Impressive...most impressive! I will also take another look after the folder is public. -
I suppose it would suck, but I won't feel sorry for anybody who spent $600 on a single minifig. But, if the premium item is a good one, I suppose I will be placing an order early on May 3.

Nice quickie review, CopMike! I think the minifigs in this set are fantastic, but I'm not sold on getting this set. I like the colors on 6209 better. But, since I'm a sucker for a sale, I'll probably end up picking it up eventually.

To answer the original question: I've never been lucky enough to find an extra minifig in a set, but oh I wish.... :)

I'll put a link in - the photo I found is pretty big so I won't post it here. Last Year's Poster

Great review, def. I still have my 7130 and 4500 on display, while the 7666 one is currently in a box. 7130 was probably the second SW set that I bought in 1999 and it sat on top of my TV in the living room for months - it was just that cool. :) I know the set is not screen accurate, but I don't care. I think the build stands up even today. And, given the choice of this or another Freeco Speeder (for the same money), I'd be taking the 7130 home. One thing I always liked about the early SW sets is that the boxes weren't way too big for the contents. I've moved a half-dozen times since I bought this set, and I still pack a few of my early sets into their original boxes before packing them away. I can take the cannon apart and place the speeder into the box without disassembling it at all. Finally, I think the printing on the Rebel soldier is hair, not a tattoo.

Over on FBTB the scuttlebutt is that this is how the rumored white Mandalorian minifigs will be distributed. I don't have any information to confirm or deny the rumor, just stating what other sites are guessing. I was lucky enough to receive a fairly low numbered poster last year. However, if it's another poster, I might not jump through the hoops to get one this year.

In some ESB/ROTJ scenes his clothes look grey, in darker scenes, they look kind of....bley. Considering that the other figs are Bossk and Han, I'm sure that this minifig is not a Clone Wars version of Boba.
-
Didn't you see the news from a couple of weeks ago? The mandalorian pack's going to be all pastel shades though....

And of course, now I guess I'll be purchasing this Slave I at some point during its sales cycle. I still have a boxed 6209, which I'd be tempted to sell to pay for this one, but I probably won't. So, my fourth Slave I will be added...gotta wait for a sale though. Hit enter too soon. These figs are amazing. I look forward to the full review soon!

Mid-Scale Republic Gunship & Dropship/AT-TE
Mofo Jones replied to gotoAndLego's topic in LEGO Star Wars
The look of these MOCs are awesome. They almost have a "Chunky" look to them, as in the proportions are intentionally a bit off from the actual set, but for style/effect rather than any lack of building/design acumen. I look forward to additional photos! -
I never got this set, thinking that $100 (on clearance from KB Toys) was way too much to spend on LEGO. A quick glance at my collection now shows that is no longer the case. As big as this set is, I probably wouldn't have had a real good place to display it. Still, now I wish I'd taken the plunge on this set back then.

Very cool! I never think of new uses for parts!
-
TRU exclusive = I buy it at the LEGO store. I like the basic design of the set so far, but I'm hoping for more pictures soon.
-
I'll probably get them all, eventually. I'm a sucker for sales and clearance. I even bought the Rogue Shadow after I proclaimed I wouldn't. Depending on the selection, I might purchase magnet sets - especially if it's that new Boba Fett!
-
I received mine the other day and will post a pic soon - gotta change a couple of things on my entry to reflect that it's no longer winter. Thank you very much, CopMike!
-
I can't argue with that.

Save the cheerleader, save the world. (sorry, somebody had to say it) These figs look great - I have my favorites of the first series, but I wouldn't say no to owning any of them, even in multiples as I attempt to get them all.
-
Very nice! I like all of the little details such as the robotic arms and the methods you used to show Vader leaving after the repairs were finished. If you made the walls a bit wider and the whole thing a touch taller, you could probably fit every TIE in there (not at the same time) except for the Defender.

I haven't built my AT-TE yet but I will seriously consider doing these mods to plug up the holes. If you get a chance, can you post some additional pictures or maybe a list of the parts you used? Thanks in advance!

Very nice - the meter maid will have to call the Angle Grinder Man to get the clamp/boot removed.

Hadn't checked in here for a while. Fantastic prizes, and I don't own any of the figs that comprise my 2nd place set. Thank you to CopMike and EB, I am not worthy. (insert bow and scrape smiley)
