REVIEW: 71004 LEGO Minifigures – The LEGO Movie Series
Mofo Jones replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Excellent review as always, WhiteFang. With all this detail, I wonder how long it takes you to review a new series. 6-8 hours? I'll want Lincoln, the Bard, and maybe the Panda guy.- 131 replies

See, exactly like I (and a few others) said it would be!

To all those who have questions, go to the first post and look at the links for the calendars for past years. I'm sure CopMike will follow something along the lines of that formula for the giveaway. Oh well, you'll only have to wait until tomorrow to find out for sure!

Impressive prizes! Thanks for putting this on again, CopMike! I'd be happy with any of the sets, as free LEGO is free LEGO. Good luck, everybody!

SInce I am always running late on this, here goes. Every December 26, Santa takes a break on a small Pacific island. The reindeer will be back to pick him up later.

The entire concept is "Too Republican" to be taken seriously. -
beernpizza, that's an impressive tree!

He has a point - it is a type of competition - he'd have zero chance of winning if he hadn't entered. Now it's just luck of the draw.

CopMike - thanks for organizing an awesome raffle again.

Here is my entry: Santa Yoda leads the choir in hopes of peace and goodwill towards men, creatures and droids. (Don't mind the punk rocker - some people just can't hold their blue milk egg nog!) My previous EB-won raffle minifigs stopped by for the celebration!

What're your favorite and least favorite Star Wars sets?
Mofo Jones replied to Loco de Lego's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I think the worst set I own is the previously mentioned 7127 AT-ST. It was a cheap way to get Chewie and I'm certain that I bought it as part of a BOGO sale at Kmart way back when. I have to agree with rogueang that the Hoth Rebel Wall..er...Base is one of the most hyped, yet most disappointing sets. Figure selection was decent, but it was doors, a console, a speeder and a crane. Overpriced and overhyped. However, I also have to disagree with rogueang on one set. My Motorized AT-AT is one of my favorite sets. No, it's not screen-accurate, but it walks by itself and terrorizes small children and cats*...which is just too much fun! I never had Ultimate Lightsaber Battle and never really wanted it either. *my at-home results. Yours may vary. -
I had a couple of Classic Space sets as a kid, the 6929 Starfleet Voyager and 6890 Cosmic Cruiser. I also had a Universal Building Set (I think it was 113). Dark Age from about 1983 to about 1990, when I bought a small Pirate set (Renegade Raft...still have it). Dark Age until 1999, when I saw the first pictures of 7140. I bought several SW sets from 1999 though 2003, then I stopped for a couple of years. Then, I saw some of the ROTS sets and had to have them, also went back and picked up 4504, 4500, and Imperial Inspection, which I missed at retail. Been buying ever since, expanding into a few other lines, but basically it's been SW for the last 7 years.

I'd read that's supposed to be the release date for all the 2012 SW stuff, Hasbro, LEGO, etc. to coincide with the Phantom Menace (in 3-D!!!) release on February 10th. Some places are disregarding this and have Hasbro stuff out already.

QFT.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't Legolas have blue eyes? Still, the fig looks ok with black eyes. I don't know how LEGO would put blue eyes on him without going into the "creepy Clone Wars face" category, though.

I'm in California, so if you haven't received yours yet, you should have it soon.

Excellent review, Mutley! I'll have to look out for these, hopefully they'll be a Target promo at some point. I just assembled one of the mini Venators and that was a decent little set.

I'm going to guess 78% or so. I have a bunch of small sets from other themes, but most of my collection is Star Wars.
-
I received my Prize A today, but I swapped Leia for Panaka, so my three were Sasee Tinn, Opress (with armor) and Hutt-hatin' Panaka. Thanks CopMike and Siegfried for the raffle - I'll post a pic later!

Looks like an extremely active year for EB! I hope 2012 is at least as busy and successful for all at EB!

VIP Exclusive 850458 LEGO® Minifigures set
Mofo Jones replied to Thego's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Apparently I was living under a rock last summer because I don't even remember hearing about this poll, much less taking it. I'm not pleased with the choices either, as I have 3 of the 5 and don't really want repeats...except I would be willing to have a few Elves. Between this and the mini modular buildings, I'm starting to wonder if LEGO is merely testing what VIP members will buy. -
Happy New Year! Thanks to CopMike, Siegfried and the rest of the EB staff for this raffle!

Due to financial liquidity issues, I'll only be getting 1x each of the BPs anytime soon. I'll hold out for a sale on the rest of them. To keep this on topic, I picked up two of the mini polybagged Venators (ok, I know it doesn't say Venator, but that's what it is) from another forum member who scored them at 90% off. 39 cents is a fantastic price to pay for LEGO.

Does anybody want to trade part of a prize? I won Prize A and don't really want the Leia. I'd be willing to trade her for anybody but Watto (I have a Podracers set to build, after all). Thanks!
