  1. Thanks for the kind words, guys! And ... major update, added all the male decals I've assembled so far. Still have a few more ideas though, then it's done.
  2. Um... I'm confused here. No, wait, I think you are. The "fronts for the Male Vests" are the backs of the female ones, there are no male ones posted yet. That's 3 fronts and 3 backs. I hope I don't have to explain why they're female. Ninjas and Samurai! Um. No. I might do some more castle factions though (yes, I know, Ninja is technically castle, but ...). Wolfpack has a nice looking logo, maybe Black Falcons.
  3. Halter tops lead to biker gangs. It's just a proven fact. Don't believe me? I'll send the gang over to explain it personally. So... Here is the beginning of just such a gang. Two, actually, since you always need a rival gang for a rumble. The Crownies and the Skellies, taking their name from the popular Castle factions, are rolling into your town, harassing your women, stealing your newspapers, and generally making a lot of noise. Get used to it. More factions may be added later, since all they require is a back decal (in male and female). DONE! At this point, all the members are female and they all wear red. Like I said, this is a work in progress. Male versions are being made as we speak, but this will give you an idea of the general look. Jackets will come along later, possibly, but there are no "Mutt"'s in this gang. I may not create flesh equivalents for all of them, unless requested. I picture these mostly being used in towns where classic yellow citizens live. If you have other ideas, let me know. Female Fronts Female Backs UPDATED TO ADD: Male Fronts Male Backs Stuck the one western style guy in just for variation. There are lots of great weapon and head possibilities to round these out. Maybe, just maybe, I'll build an actual gang when they're all done. Still working on a shirtless male version and a couple of other ideas that may show up later. Ride On!
  4. Another winner, no doubt about it. Here's the angle to take. You didn't have to scrunch the house in because you put so much effort into the landscaping, instead, it's quite the opposite: Gryfon Goat values the natural beauty of the area so much that he didn't want his home to interfere with it. I must say, you don't see a lot of examples of blue tudor, and I think it works perfectly well within the playful side of the Fabuland Spirit. I'm looking forward to seeing the Edgy interiour as well. My only slight alternative would be to try to thatch the roof instead. I have no idea how one would do that, but in my mind, it would look great. I'll wait to index this until you are absolutely certain about the landscaping, but I think it would be a crime to change it.
  5. Three votes in and it seems the people have spoken. I like a good quick response, thanks! It's funny, really. 'A' didn't look so horribly distorted until placed next to 'B'. By comparing, it becomes immediately obvious. The result? I get to redo 18 halter top decals. No, the result will be a more accurate representation, and that's the important thing. Special thanks to Alice, female form advisor, and female form, and ...
  6. Ok, I know how topics like this can go, so I'm just going to start by saying that this is a serious question, and I would appreciate serious answers. After that, you can be silly like always. Thanks! After Captain Green Hair commented that, perhaps, the hips on the halter top girls made them look a little, well, overly booty'd, Alice and I were discussing hips and how they could best be represented in the LEGO world. We offer these two possibilities. They're actually the exact same width, but through the magic of optical illusion, they appear different. Basically, it all comes down to the curve of the waist. So that's the question, which one do you think best represents the ideal female form? A ... or ... B Thanks for participating!
  7. Um... SPOILER ALERT! We weren't exactly ready to announce any of the prizes, but it looks like someone has. Well, at least now you know I wasn't kidding about the great prizes, huh?
  8. Har, never thought I'd see the day when a pirate complained about a booty being too big! Seriously though, it's the curse of the minifig. The waist has to meet somewhere near the edges of the torso, or the legs don't look like they're attached properly. LEGO minifigs are just wide, no way around it that I know of. To research the subject, I posted a poll. It seems that the general consensus is that you're right, and fortunately there was a decent solution, which I have used to replace all of the decals in this thread. To see a comparison or voice your own opinion on the change, visit the poll.
  9. I am certain that it will be discussed during the trip, as we get to know him a little more and see beneath his gruff exterior. There will ultimately be a major battle, during which a decision will have to be made about Flynt's future. It will be interesting. I intend to make it clear that the Queen was head of the League and that they, as a group, locked away a terrible weapon for the good of all mankind, a weapon that only she could control. After the meeting, Aluvar and group will attempt to retrieve it, while Alyss learns what she needs to assume her destiny. I don't absolutely need Pent again, so whatever you do with him shouldn't effect my story, but if he's still around at the end, I'll bring him back in to the story. The Situation in the Crown Kingdom Bluervo and the King are trying to discover a traitor. I am leaving the identity of the traitor wide open at this point, as well as their methods and motivation. It will all tie in to the past, the present, and the future of the Kingdom. If anyone is passing through town, announce it and I'll make sure that Bluervo observes you and comments, to tie things together. Otherwise, that part of the story is going to be sort of like a classic detective story/murder mystery. Since we have no players who control characters there, and no major plot seems to be happening in the area, I would prefer as little interferance as possible, to keep all of the threads intact. However! If anyone is planning to pass through the area of the Eastern Outpost, it's haunted. Ghost reports are coming in. I'm thinking of them as spies for the undead forces, able to move without obstruction, appearing and disappearing at will. If you encounter one, I'm not really sure there is much you can do, but I could be wrong about that. It could be a fun little side plot, if anyone is interested.
  10. L-13 Black Knights territory Base of Majestic Tower Flynt is overseeing a group of guards. Load up the supplies, men, we're heading out in 10 minutes! Sir, yes sir! I didn't ask for all of these supplies. Orders of the King, sir. Sir? Permission to speak freely, sir? Certainly. I don't like you. I don't like being made to look the fool in front of my men. You did that yourself. Perhaps so. Whatever the case, I have been given orders to protect and escort your party to the border of Dragon Masters territory, and I will do that at all costs, even my very life, but that doesn't mean I have to like you. I will, however, show all due respect. I don't know why you asked for me, but you must have had a reason. Excellent. Call me Aluvar. Yes sir, um, Aluvar. Thank you. Flynt looks over and notices that his men are paying more attention to his conversation than their duties. Get back to work, you miserable lot! They'll be plenty of time for standing around while you're all pulling double duty tonight! Grandoth walks over to Aluvar. Well, seems he's coming along nicely. Give him time. The supplies fully loaded, Flynt gives final orders to his men and mounts his horse, Flak. The party resumes their journey north, making camp at the edge of L-11 at nightfall. The night is surprisingly uneventful, though Aluvar has a feeling that things are happening elsewhere. K-18 Crown Castle Throne Room A thunderstorm covers the area. Tap, tap, tap. That will be all Elgarth, please see to the matter personally, and tell the guard on duty that I am not to be disturbed under any circumstances. Yes sir. Elgarth, head of castle security and nephew of the King, leaves the throne room. King Tiberius crosses to the window and lets Bluervo in. What took so long? Don't be insolent, I'm still the King. Yeah yeah, what took so long, Kingy, it's howling out there! Bluervo shakes the rain out of his feathers. I was just meeting with Elgarth about castle security. How has your mission progressed? Quite well, really. I've been paying special attention to all of the people you named, as well as the general staff and members of the royal family. The family? Why? They are all above reproach! Well... how about I give my report? Begin. I started with the council, mostly because I have my suspicions about Vrendt, but they all seemed to simply carry out their duties and live their lives, nothing unusual. Vrendt is dating Larissa, though he seems to be trying to keep it a secret. Larissa? The barmaid at the Cork and Crown. Oh ho, the busty one, no doubt! King Tiberius! I'm the King, I'm supposed to keep a watchful eye for the safety and well-being of my people. Uh huh, and I can see what you've been watching. Ahem. continue... Well, ok. She is pretty attractive, and ... I meant with your report! Right, sorry. Bluervo finishes the King's list of suspects. That's everyone from your council, through the entire ranks of guards and all the way down to the cooks. And nothing? There is no traitor? I didn't say that. Who then? Well, as I said, I also included your family in the surveillance. Oh, yes. Duke Holgar, while not very bright, is definitely not up to anything. Elgarth is thoroughly loyal, of this I have no question. His attention to detail and vigilance in performing his duties is admirable. Good, good. But what of the traitor? I don't know that I have found the traitor, but I have a few possibilities. Leith and Krant met with a number of shady characters, in places you wouldn't expect to see the royal Princes. Hmmm... my sons are a little impatient to take over the kingdom, but traitors? I don't believe it! Neither do I, actually. The shady characters were, in fact, mostly information brokers and gamblers. What? It would seem that they like to gamble a little too much, and aren't very good at it. They're being blackmailed by a number of people. I worry that this weakness could make them a security risk, but I find no evidence that they are disloyal. I see. I will have this matter dealt with immediately. What of Rangdar, my eldest? He is the most mysterious, to me. He seems to spend much of his time in the church, or visiting his aunt. Countess Ravenia? Yes. He's seen her three times since I began watching. On the last visit, he left carrying a pouch of something, though I haven't any idea what. She seems to spend all of her time gardening, though she has an odd taste in plants. Oh yes, she's an herbalist. She grows many healing herbs as a hobby. She's always had an interest in such things. I've been a lot of places and eaten a lot of plants, but she has things I don't recognise at all. Is this important? I'm not certain. I wish Aluvar was here, I could use his knowledge on the subject. Have you considered visiting his friend, Hygand, in castle town? The herbalist! You're a genius, Kingy! Hmmm, yes. Thank you, I think. I'm going to get right on that tomorrow! Oh, wait. How have your inquiries gone? I sent word to the Black Knights to expect Aluvar, though I didn't give many details. I've had my men checking the villages in the area for disappearances, but so far, aside from those early attacks and few occasional incursions, there has been nothing particularly out of the ordinary. Particularly, or nothing at all? It's just that two of my most trustworthy knights have reported seeing ghosts near the Eastern Outpost. Ghosts. They drinkers? No, definitely not. I'm inclined to believe them, despite the oddness of the story. I'll put my faith in you to know your men. So, aside from ghosts, has there been anything else? Just one thing. Flangdor was seen visiting a number of local establishments, spending the night at different inns, and then he disappeared. He left town? He disappeared. He was being followed by one of my best men. He turned down an alley and disappeared. He is a wizard, he could do that, I suppose, though he was never very good at it. Can you find out where this was? I will have my man show you personally. Thank you, I think I'd like to get a bird's eye view of the area. It's late now, perhaps in the morning? That would be perfect. I need some rest, it's been a long day of following people. You may stay here, where it is dry, if you wish. Thanks Kingy! IF you don't ever call me that again! Right, your majesty, sorry. Bluervo finds a comfortable spot in the rafters and settles in for the night. The King retires to his chambers.
  11. Cleaning up a bit of my missing Exo-Force collection... Sentai Fortress and Aero Booster @ 60% off. Couple more misc eBay auctions: Pirates, Ninjas, Wild West figures.
  12. A fine example of the sweet innocence of youth combined with potential decapitation. Or, as we like to say in the Guild, "ut oh, he lost his head to the Fabuland edge!" Love it! Indexed it! Want it! The mixed browns in the barrels make my eyes bleed, but otherwise I really like the idea of putting them together like that and the pump is very well done. I hope to see it mixed into other creations, since it's really too small to feature for indexing. I'm stealing those barrels for non-Fabuland uses as well, I'll just tell you now. I am definitely going to love that shanty. It's Fabuland meets Pirates meets Spongebob, with a side of Tiki bar! It's just great, I'm really looking forward to the finished product!
  13. Um... could you supply a reference pic of what you have in mind, so I'll know what I'm making?
  14. Thanks for showing the love, guys (hey, I know how to pander to the audience, and it works). Bigger boobs. Yes, it always sounds like a good idea, but I think she's reasonably maxxed out. I'm sure that a future project will accomodate a size increase, though. In the meantime, I was attempting to merge the idea into a historical female pirate for the Pirate Princesses project, but things went way off course and she ended up something else entirely (why does this always happen to me?) ... It's really looking good, and I hope to share it soon. But it's a secret.
  15. That would be a much better title. I keep almost passing over this thread, then seeing that it's in Pirates and glancing in.
  16. I've had orders take between 5 and 14 days. Your mileage may vary.
  17. Ok, confession time... There was a point when I was doing the editing that I started mentally changing the lines around. I had one particularly good bad joke at one point, and saved a copy of these without the text, just in case ...
  18. Hinck makes a great toilet (stop giggling, I'm tired and I can't be arsed to reword that), if you search for the last time he was on EB News (yes, we're on vacation, shush or I'll never get through this sentence), he swirlied my stunt double in it. Excellent. I'm going to delay indexing this until you're absolutely thrilled with the final result. It's in my WIP file until then and looking good!
  19. Actually, I think of us as something akin to a box of doughnuts. Ok, fine, I'll explain, and no, you can not be the one with sprinkles. I've been calling it the Fabuland Builders Guild (and guess what I plan to continue?). We are a Guild, composed of people who build Fabuland, and the people they love. The members do not own the guild, it's just the place where we meet. No apostrophe needed, in my little world. Honestly, I'm getting a headache thinking about it now. What does this have to do with doughnuts? Nothing.
  20. LEGO minifig proportions are always an issue for me. Being wide but short, I figure she wears her pants a bit high. Think "I Dream of Jeannie: The Early Years" before she was allowed to show off her belly button. In reality, I hate the way LEGO usually represents one, it's either a black dot or a big curve that just doesn't look right. That said, I tried one. It ended up looking perverse. No, really. I'll give it some more consideration though, before trying more. Save it for the decal, buddy. EDIT: I used my 2000th post for belly buttons? (24th April, 2008)
  21. Oh, that's just delightfully evil... I finally have the excuse I've needed to buy random lots of Fabuland figures that may not be in perfect condition... Fabuland customs! This is madness... we're doomed. And, loving it!
  22. Ok, it really isn't a study in cleavage, but I bet you'd have been willing to volunteer if it was. Instead, it's the weird result of an attempted dress decal based on a Princess Zelda picture. Along the way, it's become a generic dress that still needs work, and a bikini. I think the halter was the best 'finished' result of the lot, so here it is, in 4 colourways for both flesh and yellow minifigs, a midriff bared version also the same variations, and a really experimental 3rd style in red only. That's 18 decals, all for the price of admission! Such a deal! Wow, that's a lot of ... variations. Comments, opinions, oogling, all gladly welcomed.
  23. I think it's actually an "I've finished my Impulse entry for A Pirate's Life! but have 3 more pieces left that I can use" thread.
  24. I took a different angle with Pent. He needs to do what he is doing, just with more confidence. I am leaving the legendary society as a shadowy image right now, but there are enough details to hint at it's existance, the fact that the Crown Queen was in charge of it, and at the ancient relic, hidden somewhere, that could stop the forces of evil, in the right hands. I picture a future scene where the King praises Pent for his efforts and where Pent discusses Lord Kenneth, leading to some kind of field promotion for him. Flynt will be travelling with us for the duration of our time in Black Knight territory, grumbling and fussing until ... Well, you'll see. We are continuing on to the meeting, eventually, with stops along the way. After that... the quest for ... IT!
  25. L-13 Black Knights territory Base of Majestic Tower The carriage containing our group has arrived at the front gate of the tower. Grandoth calls down to Aluvar, who comes up and sits beside him. Well, this is it, the home of my former student. I'm sure he'll be surprised to see me. Really? Shouldn't a wizard know when another is near? Sometimes, but I don't exactly allow my full aura to be projected, so I'm hard to detect. It tends to reduce complications in life. I didn't know that was possible. Oh, a great many things are possible in this life, it's all a matter of discovering them. I suppose I should approach the gate alone. Do you think it's safe? Safe as anything else on this journey. That isn't encouraging. Aluvar winks at Grandoth and hops down from his seat. Approaching the gate, Aluvar is met by a force of armoured guards, led by an ill-tempered looking man named Flynt. That'll be far enough. Just you turn around and go back where you came, we don't want you here. You don't know who I am, or why I'm here, so you can't possibly know that you don't want me here. We don't want any of your kind and we ain't buying what you're selling. Do I look like a salesman to you? Actually, you look like a tired old man who wants to seem important by wearing a big hat. Tired old man?!?!?! I'll have you know that for all of my 190 years, I could still double you over my knee for a spanking, you insolent whelp! Oh ho, maybe not so tired after all! Now go away! I will not. I am here on the business of the Crown Kingdom and am the officially recognised Voice of the King. Well, I am impressed now. You're the voice of the crown king, standing in Black Knight territory. Go away. I really don't want to do it this way, but if you insist. Aluvar mumbles a few words, lowering his aura shield. From high in the tower, Master Pent Heartstorm immediately senses the presence of his old master below. He glances over at King Nexus Mac Arthur. Oh my. What could he want? Why is he here, and how did he get so close before I sensed him? Who? What are you babbling about? My old master. He is at the gate and that idiot Flynt is giving him a hard time. Well, that is his job. Yes, but this is Aluvar we're talking about. Aluvar? Never heard of him. Should I be impressed? You will be, I guarantee it. He's a very highly placed wizard with great powers, despite his advanced age. What, he's old like you? No, he must be nearly 200 by now. Really? Sounds interesting. We could always use another antique around here. Send down word to open the gate and bring him up, I want to meet him. Uh, yes your majesty, I shall see to it personally. Master Pent rises slowly and begins the long trip to the front gate, where we see Aluvar, beginning to look annoyed. I don't see where you did anything there. You will. Right. I've had enough of this. Men, escort this carriage over the cliff, with them aboard it. SIR, YES SIR! The guards begin to approach Aluvar. Grandoth jump down next to him, sword in hand. Oh, how noble, but unnecessary. Please, step back, I'll take care of them personally. Aha, you hear that lads, the geezer is going to "take care of us personally." Oooh, I'm scared now! You shouldn't push him. Push him? We're going to push all of you off the cliff in a minute. Not likely. Aluvar produces a wand which he waves toward Flynt. Omnilox vominus, harbingus fleet. Nothing happens. Now you're going to curse at me? I shall enjoy throwing you off personally. Just as he finishes speaking, Flynt begins to lift off of the ground until he is floating above his men. LET ME DOWN! AAAAAH! THIS IS SOME KIND OF... Sorcery. MASTER PENT! HELP ME! You deserve exactly what you're getting, fool. ALUVAR! You old scoundrel, what are you doing here? PENT! I knew you'd recognise my unique aura, but this lad didn't seem interested in what I had to say, so I just figured I'd wait for you to come down. He's as stupid as he is strong. HEY! I don't know, he doesn't look that strong. Shall I let him down? If you wish, no matter to me. Maybe I should toss him over the cliff? WHAT? The King wouldn't approve, and you're not really the sort. True. Well then... Aluvar breaks the spell quickly, dropping Flynt on top of his men, who crash to the ground in a pile. Ah haha, it's been a long time since I've enjoyed one of your little tricks. Too long. I know I should have visited, but I just ... I know. You were just too jealous after she was named... well, you know. I never held it against her, she really was the best, but after we couldn't save her... Not so loud. Her daughter is in the carriage. She doesn't know any of this. You must tell her! I will, when the time is right. It is why I've come. I heard reports that you might be in town, but the informants were too scared to be perfectly clear on the subject. I hoped it was you, I even had a feeling about it, but just couldn't sense you. They hit poor Lornt and tied him up in a closet. Aha, serves him right for overcharging me all these years. Pent! You rascal! It's good to see you again! The King wishes to meet you. I can't imagine what I've done to deserve that honour, but I suppose I have time. We shall talk on the way. I trust that your men will leave my party alone while we're inside. Oh, I'm sure of that. Well, just in case... Aluvar hands Grandoth his wand. If they give you any trouble, zap them with this. Yes, sir! Flynt and his men look up from the pile in terror. As they finally untangle themselves, they resume their positions guarding the gate. They all step back as Aluvar and Pent pass, warily watching Grandoth who begins fiddling with the wand. You know that won't work for him, of course. Of course. Now, here is the situation... Aluvar and Pent discuss recent events, including a retelling of the Black Wraith Demon encounter, in which Aluvar praises Lord Kenneth for taking a stand against the accursed beast. Aluvar advises Pent to see to it that all of the local commanders are appraised of the situation and made to understand the nature of the enemy. Pent agrees with this decision, finally understanding that the source of his recent cloudy vision was, in fact, Aluvar's masked aura. Relieved that it wasn't being caused by another, more sinister source, he assures Aluvar that he will do all he can to guard the territories personally. He explains his plans, which seem quite reasonable to Aluvar. Yes, I think that is your best choice in the matter. I, however, am forced to take more drastic measures. Drastic? What do you have in mind? I'm going to retrieve ... it. It? You mean the ... no ... you can't! I have to. This evil is greater than any of our powers. If we can't stop it now, we never will. I have sensed that, but you can't even use it... only she could. No. That isn't entirely true. You mean... her daughter? It's too great a risk, she is untrained. Not untrained, just not fully trained yet. I can teach her, you know I can. Yes, if anyone can, it's you. Still, it's a lot to learn in a short time. I have already been working on it, she's coming along well, I just haven't let her know why. If she learns too quickly, she could be sensed, and all would be lost. Exactly. Master Pent opens the door to the King's throne room and escorts Aluvar inside. So, this is your friend, the old relic? Old relic? You know, I'm not above giving you the Flynt treatment. What did you do to him? I just cooled his temper a bit. That seems hard to picture. It was quite hilarious, your majesty. Yes, well, I understand that you are representing the Crown kingdom? I am the Voice of the Crown King, as specified in this letter. No need, I already knew about that, I received word yesterday from Tiberius himself. He sends his best wishes and says that he trusts that you will protect his most valuable treasure, though I haven't any idea what he means. I do, and I will. Good good, is there anything we can do to assist you? Yes, there is. Assign Flynt to escort me out of your territory. WHAT? WHAT? I said that. Yes, well... Are you serious? Of course I am. He's loyal to you, moreso than any other of your men, but he's hot headed and ill mannered. With some training, he could become a valuable asset to your kingdom. And you're the one to train him? I believe so. It will be as you wish. He'll be thrilled, I'm sure. Can I give him the orders? And spoil my fun? Not a chance. You may, however, personally tell him that I need to see him about the Aluvar incident. That should be enjoyable enough for you. Oh yes, your majesty, yes indeed! Master Pent leaves to retrieve Flynt, Aluvar stays with the King. He's a good man, you know. He will be once you train him. No, I mean Pent. He's a good wizard, he means well, and he's much stronger than he looks. I suppose. He just has no life to him, no spirit. He hasn't since the death of the Crown Queen. He... we, did all we could for her. I remember her illness, but never understood why you wizards took such an interest. We had our reasons, good ones. I cannot explain further. Rest assured, Pent will do his best to protect your kingdom. I believe you. I need to let him know that I believe in him, I suppose. Yes, I think that would help. Master Pent arrives with Flynt. Flynt looks terrified. I will take my leave now, it has been a pleasure. Please see that the package is sent down to my carriage, and we will be off. Oh yes, the package. It will be right down, as soon as I finish with Flynt here. Flynt trembles in fear. Aluvar and Pent leave the room, closing the door behind them. WHAAAAAAAAAT????????? Hmmm. Seems he's been informed of his new orders. The two wizards head downstairs, laughing all the way.
