  1. Yes, when I think of people who like to spread it around... Methinks we doth needeth the shovels!
  2. Whatever do you mean, you've posted this in the proper place. Crap, dammit. Stupid link. As for the potato jokes... this is the place for them. They all go here. Without exception. Where else would you expect to put them?
  3. I am the humble Priest of Azufre, Alexander. You may call me father, Alex, or simply "the priest". Please feel free to come to me with any concerns you may have or questions about your life beyond this world, for I am always available to help in times of trouble. I only hope that I can count of all of you to help rid this town of evil before it consumes us all into the burning fires of hell. We must act now, before all is lost! *passes around the plate* (OOC: Is this actually day 1, or the confirmation thread? I'm still waiting for my robes to arrive from the costume department and they haven't shaved my head yet...)
  4. Halloween Month Vignette Contest Rules and Discussion Join Eurobricks in celebrating Halloween in a way you've never celebrated it before, wait... you've never celebrated it before? Well, here's your chance! All you have to do is build a vignette, following a few simple rules, and you could win a fabulous prize! The Idea Build a vignette that represents Halloween in your Classic Town. It's that simple. Aren't sure what Halloween is? Well, this is the internet, you could probably find something there, or if you're lazy, try this. The Rules Entries should be posted to the entry thread by midnight CST, October 30, 2008. No other posts should be made there. You may use this thread for discussing the entries, asking questions, or making silly jokes involving potatoes. Voting will start on Halloween, October 31st. One entry per person. Each entry is allowed up to 3 pictures, no larger than 800x600. The first picture posted will be used as the thumbnail for your entry, so choose wisely. Be sure to post that entry in the entry thread or it will be disqualified. Entries are to be built on an 8x8 base (baseplate, plate, or bricks) with up to 1 stud plate overlap allowed on all sides. Elevated parts may extend up to 5 studs out from the edge of the base. Allowed: a tree limb. Not Allowed: a wall. Use common sense or we'll hit you. Minifigs and parts held by minifigs may extend 3 studs out from the edge of the base. No piece limit. No height limit. Official LEGO parts only. No clones. No modified parts. The Prize To be announced. Stay tuned for more details as they develop! Simple, isn't it? So get started now, there's a whole scary world out there just waiting to be built!
  5. Halloween Month Caption Contest What would an event month be without a caption contest? Well, it'd be an event month without a caption contest. That said, it's more fun with one, isn't it? Of course it is! The rules are simple: Post up to 3 captions for this picture by October 30th. A caption can be anything from one line to a whole story, it's up to you! Is there a prize? You betcha! Well... no. Ok, there is, sort of. Not really though. Oh, just post captions and have fun and maybe you'll win something like a title or tag for a while. I'm not really sure. That's the fun of it, it's like trick or treating, you never know what you'll get. Or not. You get the idea.
  6. Halloween Month Vignette Contest Entry Thread Post your entries here. This thread is not intended for discussion and any non-entry posts will be removed. Read the rules and discuss the contest in the Discussion thread.
  7. I am the humble priest of our troubled town, Alexander. I have pledged my life to God and will see to it that his will is done. Heretics and evil doers consider yourselves warned, you shall pay! (OOC: Dammit, why does the gay guy get Mary? It's not fair! *stomps around the room*) Ahem. And now, we shall pray ...
  8. A good call there. In the Legend of Sleepy Hollow, the horseman was a Hessian during the Revolutionary War, so that's not a bad match at all. Nice avatar, by the way. My dream theme would be a cross between Pirates and Wild West in the form of Zorro.
  9. Welcome to EB, benny! Thank you for posting this! I've been watching as you've posted your mocs and honestly, I'm very impressed. As a matter of fact, I was so impressed that you've now been blogged. Visit Classic-Town.net and take a look for yourself.
  10. No question about it. Vote: Majiko Hey now, at least you ended up with the cross-dressing construction worker.
  11. Wasn't knowing your last role badly, enough?
  12. As we entered a new decade, LEGOLAND was again populated by new citizens, or at least they had new clothes to wear. It's kind of hard to tell, they all have that same happy face. Whatever the case, 1980 sees the addition of a medical team in the form of doctor and nurse, a well-off couple featuring a lady wearing beads and a man in a suit, a racer in a zippered jacket, a striped shirt, a new fireman and a pair of designs exclusively created for set 1592, the mayor and knight costume. Optimized for printing at 600dpi (1.551cm x 1.227cm). (thumbnails link to full size decals) In 1979: The Year in Minifigs, we offered you some alternate colour variation for classic torsos of that year. We will do the same this year, in the form of the woman in beads and the suited man, adding variety to your Classic Town minifig assortment. And that was 1980. Hope you enjoy these offerings, and as always, if you decide to use some, please feel free to post pictures of your efforts in this thread, we'd love to see them!
  13. Are we actually being provided avatars for this little party? ... and looking as lovelies as ever.
  14. As Halloween approaches, I felt it was time to change my avatar to something appropriate. Glancing at a spare Captain Redbeard sitting on a shelf, I realised that his torso would make the perfect scary military style uniform necessary for a headless horseman figure I had thought of making, and the epaulettes and cutlass would match well too. I added a basic black cape and swapped out his hook and yellow hand to represent black gloves, then topped off with a jack-o-lantern to end up with this: It isn't the most original build in the world, but it gets the job done. So, as we approach a new era for pirates, complete with new minifigs, what else could you do with your classic pirate torsos? What do you think could be made with them? Please share your ideas here, and if you have pics, those are most certainly welcome as well.
  15. My title has now been adjusted accordingly. If the headless horseman is in this game, I'm going to be seriously impressed. That's just my halloween avatar for this year.
  16. Ah, this will be delightful, ridding the world of evil! *makes a note of the heretic* Yes, it's already becoming clear where evil lies...
  17. Welcome to EB and thanks for the detailed intro! I'm fairly sure I've seen you in the Bricklink forums before. Haven't visited the other thread yet? Well, no matter. I dub thee, Lady happyfish. Be sure to drop in and say hey to the girl gang over there though, they like that.
  18. Excellent! Er... wait. 12 hours? I'll be asleep in 12 hours! How is Ivan to stay pretty without the sleeping? Maybe someone can making arrangements for inclusion of sleeping Ivan?
  19. Lovely! Ivan is understanding, as long as Shadows is playing someone. Anyone. Well, not so much cross-dressing construction man. Helmet mess up hair. Thanks! 'bout time I didn't get wiped out in something around here. I credit our success to the lack of monkeys involved. I never would have thinkingses such a thing. Though she do have the nice hair. Definitely! Though I must admit... I suspected you on and off. A lot. Ok, I actually wrote out a whole post condemning you before one nagging detail made me change it to Dillon. That nagging detail? Um... my old Mystery Castle theory about there being 2 of the same kind of person, and since there were 2 construction workers and I knew Steve didn't try to kill me, that left Dillon. Oops. Didn't work in Mystery Castle, didn't work here... Ivan was just so damn much fun to play. He had a lot of possibilities and I figured I should abuse as many as possible.
  20. Ivan sort of wanted to killing him too. Not so much 'sort of'. Ivan actually kick corpse in head sometimes when walking by, just for the makingses sureness.
  21. Lies! Damn lies! Er... You wouldn't have made it far, even if Florence hadn't pointed you out. Darlene and I were both coming down on you. Basically, the whole family was on to you, buddy. We're not a family to be megablocked with, dead or alive.
  22. Now it all makes sense, though I must admit, those missed clues were a bit obscure (but great). Ivan was very happy to being citizen and will be much sadness to giving up avatar. Will treasure this opportunity forever and never forgetting Florence. I don't know how intentional it was, or if it was Hinck adjusting as the situation progressed, but there was nothing in my early notes about Ivan's personality or background, so between the accent and occasional references to the KGB and wrestling and such, I wanted to hint at him possibly being able to take care of himself, but I worried that it would be taken as potentially mob-ish. It was a tough balance. The thing I appreciated was how Hinck used what I wrote, whether accidentally or intentionally, to take the character in the exact direction I had intended. It made me feel like I had some control over a real life, as opposed to just being an actor in a part written by someone else completely. Damn fine job, everyone!
  23. Aw, that's a great ending. Florence. I am not seeing anything wrong with my hair, and I, Ivan, am approvingses of the dialoging used to representative my speakingses, it was quite the accurate. As I saw the part with Carter, all I could think was "pop goes the weasel" Great job Hinck, seriously, and especially to the good citizens of Moonlight. I hope this guarantees the eventual return of Ivan in Part 2. Pweeze? Now, Agent Sky, once you're done banging her brains out, please arrest Darlene, she killed the serial killer, which was good, but poor what's-his-name-the-other-guy never did anything to anyone.
  24. I mine, though I must admit I went cliche with it. I still need to draw up a decent Vader torso decal and print it to red.
  25. Would that be a version of the good chess queen from the original set? It's very nicely done. Master Winfield, ha! His reputation is as overinflated as his hat. Aluvar! I think you're just jealous. I am not! Hey, don't look at me like that. Whitfield has always been nice to me. Oh really? I remember getting some of the best candy at his place for trick or treat. That was years ago... Who says I stopped going? Shadows! Don't blame me, I just love free candy. Sometimes I think you're 12. Sometimes I think you're 12 ... Not much of a comeback. ... HUNDRED. Ouch. Thanks for sharing, WhiteFang, now can you shut these two up?
