CONTEST: Pillage the Village - Terms & Conditions
Shadows replied to Mister Phes's topic in Pirate MOCs
Many websites are silly, we are not. This contest is open to any EB member in good standing, worldwide, unless there is some law that prevents shipping LEGO to your country, which is something I've never heard of. -
CONTEST: Pillage the Village - Terms & Conditions
Shadows replied to Mister Phes's topic in Pirate MOCs
After consulting with a trusted advisor, and huge pirate fan , this will be allowed based on the two reasons in bold. This should not require a rule clarification unless someone makes a point of asking again. Then I'll yell at them, give them 20 lashes, and point them at this post. No piece limit. As for indexing, I do believe that all mocs that appear in this forum end up indexed, as well as many others from around Brickshelf and such, so I'm fairly confident that these will as well. -
CONTEST: Pillage the Village - Terms & Conditions

That means you may use any kind of string you wish, as well as either official or home made sails. You may NOT use clone brand sails, however. You are allowed one entry per size/class. It may contain as many parts as you wish. For a large entry, it may literally be as large as you can build, just remember that you need to be able to take a photograph of it that will serve as your official entry picture, so plan accordingly. It is unlikely that anyone will build a ship under 16x16, therefore all ships are considered large division. Yes. As the rules state, you may use your entry thread to present a work in progress, therefore it can change until the deadline. Yes. While they can be made of elements that fall outside the traditional pirate line, this contest is meant to represent the original intent of the line, which is set in the Caribbean somewhere roughly in the period from 1600-1800, if I had to make an estimation. Therefore, other regions and eras are excluded. This is not the contest for your Vikings, marauding Chinese or Spacemen. The first post will be updated to reflect the clarified rules. Please be sure to check it again shortly and often, as it may change to reflect questions asked during the duration of the contest. -

The biggest Prize Pool in AFOL fansite history?
Shadows replied to Mister Phes's topic in Pirate MOCs
Didn't you see where I said: "That's all for now"? Guess you'll have to wait and see, huh? In case anyone can't tell, I plan to stay with the theme of this contest until it's over, so expect plenty of good old-fashioned cruelty at sea! :pir-skull: You know you love it. -

Announcement! Specific details of the contest will be disclosed in the near future, but for now, let me just assure you that there is room for everyone: the big builder, the small builder, the person who likes to comment on the work of others. You all have a place, and, if you're talented enough, you could choose to participate on many levels. Ownership of official pirate parts isn't a requirement at all, creativity can work around that, but if you're smart, scrolling down and visiting some of the many cheap auctions that are ending all over the world on a daily basis might just give you a bit of an advantage, and with prizes like these, who wouldn't want a little help? The possibilities are as staggering as the prizes. Speaking of prizes! The Prizes All prizes are good quality, previously-owned LEGO, purchased through auctions and complete with either original or reproduction instructions. In a few cases, there may be a box. You will not be displeased. Oh, and staff isn't eligible to win, and believe me, we wish we could. Lucky bastards! That's all for now. -
The Baritones Day 3-The Citizens Strike Back!
Shadows replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
If I am making correct countingses, there are 15 citizens living in Moonlight (OMG! We use to have populational like, 1 magillion! Bastard Baritones! ) With that, we needing the 8 votings to turn mayor into sidewalk decoration, and we are now having the 8 votings. I will not lock the door to the restaurant for the night, but I am thinking our business here is done. After Mr. Narrator sleeps it off, I thinking he will be declaring it night. I am hoping we did good job here. I am feeling confidence. -
I'm not sure in his case that's saying a lot. Yes and no. In that order. Fixed now! I actually went to that parts page but I guess my connection was sucking so bad it wasn't loading the images, so I thought it was just an impossible to read yellow text on lime green list. The pics loaded this time and it's the one. But if people keep poking at it, that could change.

He should try being the King's Advisor for a few weeks when no one understands that you only went along with the plot to help the good people of the castle through their troubling times. -
The real value of Fabuland comes in many forms. The innocence, the simplicity, the vast array of new parts that might not exist had it never been created. I saw a site once that detailed all of those parts and it was amazing. If anyone finds it again, please post it here and I'll add it to the FBG Index. See, it wasn't an offshoot of Duplo, oh no, it was a System line, and therefore compatible with all your current favourites. Yes, the characters are animals with big heads making it a slightly surrealistic world, but where else could something like this happen?

Seems he's confused it with "Talk Like a Parrot" day.

Shows what you know about running a contest like this. Do you know how long it takes to procure prizes of this sort? Longer than the other site has even existed. If you're going to do something right, something big, something memorable, you put time and effort into it. That is the kind of contest we run. It isn't designed to compete with a new site, it's meant to give the fans what they want, the opportunity to win Classic Pirate LEGO. We look forward to your entry! -

I'm going to repeat, these are good quality sets, but not MISB. It would take an amount of money we couldn't dream of to buy this many MISB sets, IF we could even find them. *drags Zuloo to the stockades* :pir-skull: -

Whoa there, I do be thinkin' you're hitting the rum a little early in the day! Pleased to be disregarding the ramblings of a drunken Lord Admiral wannabe, the specific packaging/instruction situation of these sets has not been stated at this point. *whacks Zuloo with a plank* -
I was perusing the new threads and I noticed that there were 3 nearly identical ones. It was amazing, and when I moused over them, they all were from you. I cleaned up your mess. Oh, and no complaining, is me, by me, so naturally it's always the right emoticon, no matter what you think you picked.

A confession! You are as dumb as you are crooked. Oh yes, you will be having the reservations with the other bad P in town, dead Patty. Maybe you two can share the room. Don't you worry about the paperworks and redtaping, resigning may be done for you. -

Maybe, maybe not. You property of Baritones, they might can pass you on to next in line. I mean, we are all the happy for the Godfather dyingses, but mob is like that thing with the heads that growing back when you whack one. Always another to taking place. So was one of the first day victims, and he was murdered by dark figure in pub, if I am remembering right. We can't making assumes by that, we must pay the close attention to words said and deeds done. These Baritones are sneaky bastards, they might be hiding anywheres, we must watch near. Nearly? By? Around? Close! We keep eye on them! -

No no Mr Hincklemans. In the town of Moonlight, all bad people are the bastard. Even the girlses. (OOC: The town of Moonlight considers bastard as the standard gender non-specific profanity of choice, except when MEGABLOKS is called for. No one is quite certain where this colourful tradition began, but some suspect it was a lowly Russian immigrant working in the back of his restaurant as some bastard tried to sell him bad rutabagas. The rest, as they say, is internet folklore disguised as real history). Yeah! Bad Baritone! BAD! You might maybe have been one to kill Florence. I hope you are enjoying deluxe suite in the hells. Bastard. You're a complete ... and I it! -

professor flitwick: You are having the interesting, though a bit desperational sounding theories there. Trust that we will be keeping that in the minds. You too, Carter. It is funny that in the longest run, your being traitor has cleared you as being Baritone. Jus don't expecting us to take your advices knowing what master is pulling your leashes. Maybe then you could be making the votingses for him too? He is po-lie-tician, he is not having the truth in him. I trust my Florence, I know she would not be trying to help us all if she not certain. -
The Baritones Day 3-The Citizens Strike Back!
Shadows replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Har, avast there me loyal friends and scallawags! Wha? Oh, I was making mistake and drinking the rum instead of the vodka. I am sorries. (OOC: It's Talk Like a Pirate Day, I had no choice). While it is the obviousness that Carter is probably a traitor who took good opportunity to kill boss who manipulating him, he is still a citizen in the final countingses, I think, so I am saying we let him live, maybe jus for now, maybe longer if he can providing the help and remorse. Until we are certain of his loyalties, I will not be making the listening to his advices. Florence! *nearly passes out* Oh my, you are serious, you are not the cussing type. I have no doubt of your word, I never did and I never will. Vote: Bastard politician Petey / ptdapen This would be making of the good time for Carter to show loyalty to citizens and deal with this bastard. Wouldn't you be thinking? *faints, but with a smile on his face* *wakes for a moment* I should also be mentioning that I was receivingses of a note on my doors this morning from Baritones. If they would like to come here, I will show them where they can be placing this note. -
The Baritones Day 2-A Town Terrorized
Shadows replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Oh ho! Now those tricksy hobbits Baritones are taking down the Moonlight Municipal Internets to try to be keeping us from making the decisions! Cowards! I am not completely liking it, but I am thinkings that if my dear Florence died protecting someone, that person will be dying tonight unless we stop the killer or someone else can protect them. Each nights we fail, we are more the likely to be killed, and after the losing three loyalists citizens, I do not thinking we can have much the time for sitting on our fingers. I do not like the random pointing and speculationalizationism, but I am seeing no choice here. Both of the media peoples are suspicious, but it seems the decision has been made to start with the rockety-camera guy. I must admit, he isn't first tv personality I would like to be eliminating, but El Stuttero isn't in this game ... of life. With great hesitation, I will: Vote: Neal/Norrington -
Don't forget, he's available in yellow or fleshie, so for the full Hinckley effect, you need both. Of course, I have him both ways, and in the elusive but much beloved Blacktron style as well.

The Baritones Day 2-A Town Terrorized
Shadows replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
I have been making the thinkings all day, but brokened up by the pain of losing Florence, I have not been able to speak (OOC: This is my first chance to get online all day). I have been listening to the things that are being said and it is making me get ideas which I will be sharing. I do not think we are knowing enough to be absolutely certain about anything yet, but I am also thinking we need to begin taking the actions. Some of you are making the suspicions about Neal the rockety-camera-guy, and I am being honest when I say that I was suspecting both hims and that newsy womans when they acted all suspiciousy at the first killing, whispering and shushing about the KGB FBI guys. Sort of like they knew something they weren't being supposed to know, and he almost was letting the pussy out of the pouch. I am not trusting them for this reasoning, but I am not knowing if that is meaning enough to make the voting, and for which one? Could it only be one? Maybe she making the google eyes, searching his deepest weaknesses and twistigating it around her pinkies? Or is he really mastermind, disguised as dim-witted rockerty-camera-guy? I am so confuseded. I am not knowing where to go. (OOC: But it keeps morons entertained for hours, just clicking and clicking things that obviously aren't links, then they get confused and ... oh. Nevermind.) -

We know that my Florence died while trying to do a night action and protect someone, so I take it that she was killed by a Baritone who intended to kill the person she was going to protect. I can't guess why the difference in greying out and striking out, maybe it was just a mistake?
