This is gonna start off strange but stick with me .. trawling youtube i came across Ashnflash’s review of Monkie Kid’s Team Hideout ( it’s on Lego’s website set #80044 ) it has 1582 pieces .. so the Rivendell set is very roughly 4 times larger. In all honesty its not a bad build and has some great building techniques and looks good, as he was reviewing it I kept thinking this sort of set multiplied by 4 could lend itself to being Rivendell ( obviously I don’t mean literally ) but I hope you can see where I’m going with my train of thought ? 👍🏼

@TakeaBrick .. yeah great point, but that part is just the Council of Elrond .. I would hope they‘ d do more of the actual city. I totally agree with your ‘money left on the table’ thing though 👍🏼

Maybe .. just maybe this could be done in minifig scale .. I’m gonna use LegoMocLoc as an example .. his LOTR builds are beautiful .. his Rivendell UCS is a massive 21120 pieces BUT is hugely detailed and includes practically every single part of Rivendell .. his Lothlorien UCS ( my personal favourite ) is 3855 and very detailed .. so this Rivendell ( at 6167 ) is supposedly 2312 pieces bigger than his Lothlorien .. again dependant on how they structure things and how much detail they go in to .. it could just be doable in minifigure scale 🤔

Regarding the Saruman and Gandalf ‘slopes’ .. I think they may ( depending on if we are indeed getting minifigures ) do more than one version, in a similar way to how they’ve portrayed the many versions of Dumbledore. I realise there aren’t as many variations for LOTR so another option would ( and be my personal preferred choice ) be to include both as @Balrogofmorgoth said earlier 🤞🏼

Much as I think these are great for the theme and for those that like the brickheadz .. I have never like them at all. Each to their own, but they’re not for me.

Well I woke up today and the first Instagram post that greeted me was … it’s Rivendell 😁 supposedly to include minifigures.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 24. Rumors and discussion
Jarreth2 replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
The header on the video pic says “best series” .. not for me, but each to their own. I love Marie Antoinette, but the chihuahua is a strange choice ? I can only really see the Archer and the Orc being army builders of this series, which may push up their price on the secondary market. In all honesty there are 3 I want and one of those is for a gift. Just noticed how the Potter has brown ‘clay covered’ hands 😁 -
Yeah it’s stunningly beautiful, I don’t think I could display it anywhere though .. or afford to build it in the first place 😂 I’ve started thinking of a few alterations to Lothlorien .. but we’ll see 👍🏼

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 24. Rumors and discussion
Jarreth2 replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Sounds like a promising series, a few I'm looking forward to .. i love the Orc already, the Potter, my mother in law is a Potter, has current stuff in the British Museum ( gift shop .. not the actual museum lol ) the Archer, interested in seeing if the French Lady bears a resemblance to yours @Robert8 ? 😁🤔 -
@Wardancer I’m dying to build his Lothlorien UCS, I keep buying bits here and there, but keep holding off buying everything until we find out whats coming next year 😂

Disney Properties 2022 - Rumors & Discussion

I’m only just finding out about these Disney Classics sets, interesting indeed. I agree with a lot of what’s been said already. I wonder if they rejected the Snow White cottage ( which was perfect as it was ) because they knew there were plans in the works. I assumed it was because of the controversy regarding the new film at the time. It seemed strange that they rejected it first time round, then it went to review, then more review needed only for them to say .. nope ! The price points seem to indicate there wont be something as large as the ideas submission was. Regarding the minidolls vs minifigures I’m hoping they’ll be minifigures of course. I still think that they included Elsa and Anna in CMF 2 because they knew a lot of fans would want to swap out the minidolls from the Ice Castle and replace them with the minifigures, I’m pretty sure I cant be the only one who did that 😁 Looking forward to more information on these. -
These are fantastic, now I’m not a fan of Brickheadz, don’t own a single one, BUT you’ve done an amazing job on them. Each is instantly recognisable. I noticed someone mentioned an issue with the 4 hobbits being almost the same, but isn’t that what Lego would appreciate, no real need for specific parts, just in different colours / prints. I also like that you’ve split the hobbits between the packs. Again something that Lego would do. Fans / collectors would have to purchase all the sets to get all the hobbits. Regardless of my thoughts these are excellently done.

While Minas Tirith is more than likely .. my hopes are pinned on Rivendell / Lothlorien, but thats just me 😁

I like your thinking .. very, very much indeed 😁

@sebastian666 I’ve just had a look at jonaskramm and some of his builds are stunning, especially his Treebeard, it’s really natural and organic looking. The only thing that makes me prefer Legomocloc is that a lot of his builds are very ‘set’ orientated where as Kramm’s are almost all like vignettes. Both very talented in their own rights though 👍🏼

I’ve only just discovered Legomocloc on Instagram who’s builds are all primarily Lord of the Rings and I fell in love with his UCS Rivendell and UCS Lothlorien, which I intend to build, they made me just rewatch the first three extended edition films and I still love them. I’ve been looking at the minifigures on bricklink today too and then this news 😍 I wonder if this news might deter people from buying the Avatar theme and waiting for this one. I know when the Avatar rumour appeared I was on board as I love those films too, but the figures put me off completely.

I never thought about the 3 young ducks being in an actual set, that would have been a better place for them .. perhaps along with Donald too .. good call 👍🏼 -
Disney Properties 2022 - Rumors & Discussion

If the rumour turns out to be 100 % true its a shame Lego have reduced the number of a series to 12, both 1 and 2 had 18 .. so we’re already due 6 less. They’re cool minifigures and I know they’re very popular, but was anyone else a tiny bit disappointed that Huey, Dewey and Louie took up 3 spaces last time, but were essentially the same figure just coloured differently. Duck Tales was huge back in the day, but I think when most of us think of Disney we tend to think of the classic movies, oh apart from the usual Mickey and the gang. Only 8 months to go 😂 -

According to an official character model sheet Hook is a whole head height taller than Peter .. BUT .. I thought the ‘teen legs’ would make Peter look too short .. SO .. I’ve just tried it and it works rather well .. better than I thought it would look. Makes Hook look that bit taller next to him especially with his hat too. So yeah I’m not sure they’ll revisit characters already established ( apart from the usual Mickey / Minnie etc ) give it a try, you might be surprised ^_^ -
Glad you like the Nutcracker .. yeah I’m not saying they’ve used your designs, but ( just my thoughts ) they seem to have been very influential.. I think one of my favourites is the turkey guy 😁
-
There were 3 featured on the Lego Con video, the Reindeer, the Boat Captain and the Cardboard Robot .. and there’s also an image of the whole line up floating around in the usual places @Robert8 your designs ( in my opinion ) appear to have been quite influential on this series .. this series just might be a whole collection for me slightly unsure on the Cardboard Robot, the 5 Christmasy themed ones are must haves for me 😍 On having a better look I think they made the helmet of the Nutcracker Soldier too wide ? 🙄
-
It was only this set, for me it’s the faces .. can’t put my finger on it, but it’ll be a pass from me sadly and I so wanted to like them 😔
-
So when I saw the initial low quality pictures I thought I’ll reserve proper judgement until I see something of higher quality .. whoa .. I’m not a fan of those faces at all .. I love the movie, but thankfully I think I’ll be skipping these sets .. the minifigure versions of the Na’vi that the contributor of the Pandora Lego ideas set were great .. they had minifigure faces but you knew instantly that they were Jake and Netyri and yeah these didn’t have long arms/legs .. but ahh well Lego my wallet thanks you 😁 Pleased for those that love them and can’t wait for them, I’ll give them a look over when they're in the Lego store too 👍🏼
-
I came here to see if anyone else has seen the rumour list .. as i read it my exact thought was “hmmmm have they been trawling Robert8’s ideas thread?” Lol .. looking forward to seeing these start to surface .. some great ones if they’ve stuck to your ideas ( not that they’d ever admit it ) Excellent news though bud 👍🏼

I’m looking forward to this theme and a thought crossed my mind .. I wondered if they might do something with the floating mountains based on that tensegrity model a year or so ago everyone was making MOC’s of .. like using plant vines etc instead of chains ? Eager to see some reveals of the minifigures too
